ok so for funsies i decided to count how much screen time each of the main cometkids gets . i probably messed up and miscounted at least one thing take this with a grain of salt

arc one! basically i just counted how many pages each character is on and put them into a pie chart maker website i found . everyone is in this arc and it doesnt have a focus character (though. it very much features mostly the Main 3 aka barrys kids). Say goodbye to cream and frosty because they become background characters after this /halfjoking

arc two ! there are quite a few pages where eve, norma, marco and ally are just . standing there .

arc three . oh tears theres so much sly . ok this would probably look less skewed if i included characters other than the main cometkids (carl and levi etc) none of them apart from sly really do anything here lol

arc four!! again a lot of this arc is focused on characters not included here so . sly still manages to take up a lot of screen time even when she doesnt even have anything to do that arc (i love sly dont take this as slyander)

arc five ! not including arc six since its not done. honestly this is my least favourite arc ... featuring only 3 of the cometkids this time! also the least amount of sly.

I don't think he knew that crows can even do that- it's totally new to him. He was weirded out by how you always have so much money, like do you even have a job? He did try to make you tell him your secret but you never did.

It turns out that the crows you hang out with thought he was the ideal guy to take money from, cuz they tried to rob him. He was running after them to get his money back until he saw you. You saw the group of silly little crows you so dearly love and you immediately said "oh hey babies!" and Azul just looks at you in pure confusion. "What...?" "oh I know these crows, I feed them around this time of day" You know them??? Maybe you could tell them to give him his money back??? "How about you and I make a deal?" "I don't need to though??" "I know there's something you want, everyone wants something."

"Did they take your money?" Azul was silent for a moment, it wasn't everyday that he needed something from someone else, especially in a situation like this. "Yes..."I guess now you know how I get my money out of nowhere" THAT'S HOW YOU GET MONEY?? "What." Azul was in disbelief. Now that he knows the full story he is kind of interested in them. You can just befriend a crow and they'll give you something back? Not just money? That's pretty useful.. useful in business! Now he's getting all sorts of ideas! Come on show him how to get on their good side, he can already feel the cash he'll get on his- oh no, don't worry he didn't say anything! Just continue to teach him the ways of the crows.

He himself definitely knows a few murder groups. I just know that he fed some hungry crow one day and then all the crow's friends and family knew of Ruggie so he just became besties with them. I think that he'll befriend tons of groups of them, so one day when he went to feed the local murder he just saw you hanging out with them. But there's something that left him in shock...(they give you more money than they give him)

"I didn't expect to see you here, what are you doing here anyway?" Ruggie came from behind and put his hands on your head as you were sitting with the crows. "I didnt know you even knew of this part of NRC" "oh I came here by accident on the first day here cuz I got lost.." you said as you tried to look up to him, but he was more interested in what you had in your hands. "Heyy tell me what's that in your hands??" he knew exactly what that was, something he really likes in fact. "It's money I get from the murder around here. I trained them personally!" he knew you could do that but.. for years he's been trying! But he could never get any crows to get that much money.

So now you show him exactly how you trained them to give you such great treasures from the smart crows, and now you've got crows who give you money and a grateful friend.

I think that he does know that people can train crows to get them stuff, and since he's really old he probably befriended a crow or two back in the day but I dont think he's super duper interested in this. But I do think that once he saw you hanging out with some crows he thought it was fascinating.

You thought it would be nice to show Lilia the murder you've befriended, so you took him with you when it was around feeding time for them. "May how fascinating! They are quite cute too!" he said as he pet a crow while you sat there getting your daily cash from them, "but I do wonder. How did you train them to get you money of all things?" "oh it was many years ago when I found out I could do that. Around my house there were a bunch of them and I got to know them," you stopped for a moment to continue to feed them "and I thought to myself, won't it be cool that I taught them how to bring me money? So I showed them that I was in need of some and they understood right away!" you smiled to him, he smirked at this probably reminiscing about an old crow pal of his from back in the day, "crows are smart beings, it is even known that Maleficent had a companion crow." "did it also bring her money?" you too, are fractionating he thought to himself. "Who knows? Perhaps it did."

i was talking about chapter titles lol but i can expand upon that along w story titles!!! (i’m only gonna do go lightly up until recent for chapter titles because i didnt use to do this) (also i don’t acc remember how i thought of blue/briar/bones so i can’t talk about that lol sorry!!)

mean spirits is actually a rereleased title of a mediator book from meg cabot’s series. originally it was called something else but they redid the whole series (personally i think bc it was around the time twilight came out,,, it was to market towards twilight fans lol Anyway) and i remember i was planning mean spirits,,, and i remember looking across at the book spine for this book and i already had the last line in my head?? and it kind of stuck

go lightly sort of has a theme with the old hollywood/50s sort of vibe?? like because it’s called go lightly it’s named breakfast at tiffanys i tried to keep a 50s sort of theme with some of the chapter titles. not all of the titles have a theme, but the ones for the old hollywood theme include: in cold blood (truman capote’s other book!), greetings from, morning glory, blue hawaii, house of flowers (lmao a short story by truman capote!!), and some others that sort of… sound similar?? at least to me??

… there are some chapter titles that were named after songs:

babe with the power (magic dance by david bowie)

blow ‘em away (ill ray the king by kasabian)

comeback kid (also kasabian)

sweet like cinnamon (radio by lana del rey)

and brand new moves (hey violet) are all from this.

tbh though with go lightly a lot of the time it was phrases used in chapters that sort of fit the chapter titles?? honestly i don’t even know how to explain how the chapter titles, to me, seem to have a correlation, because i think a lot of it is me being able to identify a pattern that isn’t *really* there. (also for christmas chapters i really liked making plays on words with holly’s name. (i am forever annoyed i never used the name ‘holliday madness’ bc i love that one but i thought of it after finishing it lol)

clueless!!! so clueless is different in the way that,, for go lightly,, i had a list of potential chapter titles so if i was ever struggling, i could use one of those, and since they were all quite ambiguous, they’d be fairly easy to give to a chapter. but anyway. with clueless, i didn’t actually make a list? i think i had a lot of chapter titles in mind from when i wrote briar and also when i wrote the first version of clueless (so a good ten chapter titles) (and then like three attempted revamps… so a few more title ideas from that) but again, the thing is, with clueless i can see a pattern, but then i don’t know if others can?

for clueless, the best way i can describe it is, playful but also a little flirty. if that makes sense. like there are some chapter titles that are a little more “playful,” and by that i mean they’re a little bit jokey??? which again doesn’t make much sense but hear me out:

i feel like they’re a little more fun compared to the other ones, if that makes sense. like even the fact that chapter thirteen is “a lost chapter,” like i feel like it adds a sense of playfulness that briar,,, arguably also has.

but then i feel as if the other chapter titles, a lot of them have a sort of flirtiness to them, with the sort of romantic imagery and language?? like,,, there are two chapter titles that include “pretty,” one with “angel,” one’s named after flowers w “in bloom,” arguably the sibilance in “soft to be strong,” and then “crush culture.” buuuuuuuuut, there are a lot of chapter titles that reference either briar, a draft of clueless, or something in the plot iteself. so:

in bloom was a chapter in the original clueless

hogwarts… beauxbatons references briar’s ~struggle~ and moving on from her life at hogwarts

totally clueless links back to the actual title (also links to the last chapter in part one!!)

pretty in pink… no, blue? is a reference to the original clueless because there was a chapter called ‘pretty in pink,’ but ofc bc briar’s dress was blue i added the other part

blue hawaii references laurel’s old au (also go lightly??)

the weirdest dream references the conversation briar and fred had earlier on in part one

NOW chapter nineteen is included in this but chapter nineteen is SPECIAL. chapter nineteen is called briar, and there is a whole reason behind this. SO. chapter nineteen. in the original briar, she dies at nineteen, so for clueless chapter nineteen had to be SPECIAL. in my mind the number nineteen represents briar; it represents her vision of her death, it represents how she dies so young, it represents how briar’s life was not only cut off so early but also she knew it was going to happen and the vision itself killed her. SO. chapter nineteen had to be called briar. like. i couldn’t not name it briar. the additional part of the chapter title is “her spindle wheel…?” and that is IMPORTANT.

so. the last chapter of briar is “her spindle wheel.” super duper important for Reasons but that is not why we’re talking about that rn. so. her spindle wheel. her spindle wheel are her visions. BUT. in chapter nineteen – the number that’s important because it links to her death – briar, in clueless, decides she isn’t going to let the vision happen… it does happen, but her reaction to what happens is the complete opposite to what happens in briar. in clueless, chapter nineteen cements the moment when briar realises she does not have to let visions come true, and therefore if she wants to change the future then she will. SO. the additional part being “her spindle wheel…?” is a question. the “…?” at the end is a way of showing that maybe her visions won’t be her spindle wheel…. wink wink nudge nudge

i haven’t written enough of morningstar nor most noble to answer this for them in this much detail, but believe me they’ve got their title lists and ugh i am READY. but yeah. i don’t think you wanted it in this much detail. but hi my name is lucy and i’m doing english lit and uni. i’ve also lowkey really wanted to talk about chapter nineteen so lol yeah. so. i hope someone finds this of use lmao

1 ~ Creepy KuroFai!! I love love love a good ghost story but I’ve never written any horror. I always thought it was interesting that Fai’s magic is located in his eyes and it makes me wonder if he sees the world differently from everyone else? What if they landed in a world and only Fai could see ghosts!! And they have to find the feather by helping to solve a  mystery of the ghost? I think that would be super duper neat and there is so much you could play around with. Bonus points if the ghosts were tied to this worlds version of his family aka his mother, father, and twin. Maybe his grandfather as well since  he is suck a jerk. 

2 ~ I want an AU where Kurogane’s family never dies and he grows up as the young lord of Suwa and his father takes him on his very first dragon hunt. They have to go high up into the mountains and Kurogane is so freaking excited when they finally come across a dragon. Of course they attack it and right before he is about to deal the finishing blow he and the hunting party are blown back by a powerful blast of magic. Fai appears from the forest and calls the dragon off and it act’s like a big puppy to him, swinging its big head around to sniff him and get pets. Fai marches right up to Kurogane and the rest of the hunters and starts to scold them in heavily accented Japanese about how mean they are to attack the dragons and that they should be ashamed of themselves. He explains that he grew up in a country far to the west and lived in a monastery that is in charge of the well being of the dragons of his land and ended up here by accident when he got stuck one the back of one of the dragons. I want a super cute fic where Fai gets to know more about Kurogane and his culture and teaches them all about how to keep dragons away from there villages without hurting them. Of course they need to fall in love love 

3 ~ I started this one but if someone else wants to do this too I would be thrillllllled. I want an AU where Kuro-chan had a HS sweet heart and knocked her up and had a beautiful baby boy (Syaoran) and his mom ended up running out on them so he is a single dad who works full time to try and support them. His family is tight knit so he gets a lot of help from his mother and father with childcare and bills. Syaoran comes to him when he is like 5-6 and asks to take ballet lessons because his very best friend Sakura takes them too and he thinks it would be fun. Kurogane doesn't get it but whatever. He signs him up and takes him to his first class because at least he’s also in martial arts and can stand up for himself when kids tease him over it. So he goes in to the introduction class and is the only dad there--again whatever--and the other moms are gushing over what a good dad he is to Syaoran when the dance instructor comes in to start the class. Fai is teaching the class while he is home in between tours of the  Bolshoi Ballet where he is the male version of a prima ballerina. Fai snags Kurogane after class to tell him that he is very happy to work with Syaoran and that not many dads let there sons dance. Kurogane thinks Fai is cute but thats totally not the reason why he insists on going to every single one of Syaorans classes with him. Nope. He is just a supportive dad. Its just a coincidence that they show up 15-20 minutes before the other kids and he gets to watch Fai work with some of the older dancers and really work it. (you know Fai’s gotta wear the sexy tights and loose teeshirts) And he is just being nice by staying late to help Fai get the room cleared for the next class. He totally didnt sign Syaoran up for privet lessons even though they are really freaking expensive because he likes watching Fai teach his son and interact with him. Nope. Eventually it comes time for Fai to head back to Moscow for auditions for the next big show and Kurogane finally asks him for his number. The slow burn must continue with lots of texting but not because he’s madly in love or anything and eventually when the show comes to tokyo Kurogane gets himself and Syaoran all dressed up to see Fai preform and he takes Fai out to dinner and drinks afterwards even though he’s not supposed to be braking his diet. homies you get the point I want a slow burn story that slowly kills your soul and focuses just as much on the sport as the romance before they live happily ever after. 

4 ~ I want an AU where Fai and Kurogane are generals of opposing armies and meet for the first time at peace talks and have a sexy sorta You’re-my-arch-enemy-but-damn-dat-booty-be-fine vibe going to between them during meetings. This leads to them sharing a few drinks and some super hot KuroFai action where there both just these powerful warriors who arnt willing to yield to each other and thats what they love about eachother. 

5 ~ I want a series of oneshots that are all diff AU’s where Kurogane and Fai meet in Tinder and each time they have diff backgrouds and family lives and kinks but some how always end up decided that they like eachother.
