An eye opening memory: I am not sure if there was a single one, I would say it was a collection of moments that made me realise certain things about the world we live in:

-Firstly hearing my aunt��s tale about how the Enemy deceived our ancestors, and the related tales of how we fell from grace. To me it was a sign of our doomed fate, of our decadence, from a time before even my grandfather was born. And how it was not in us, but was caused by Morgoth Bauglir.

-Secondly, as I grew up in Ladros, in constant contact with Noldorin Elves, I heard their stories about the Blessed Realm, and about the Powers, and I came to realize how little we mean to them. We were abandoned, left at the mercy of the Dark One, and yet we got mostly contempt from the Firstborn, they called us weak and corrupt.

It was a combination of these two that made me understand how little our Maker cares for us, how us mortals are merely an afterthought for the Firstborn.
