Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184: Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1421
(By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184) Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1421 Brought to you by ANN Highlighting the August 3367 Rhinoplasty The Gaming Authorities decided to give the 35 ton Keradon a new turn on the center stage. But unlike the March event, this time we were allowed to bring one aditional Mech from another model, -provided it massed 35 tons or less. On K9 they would have a regular 35 ton event instead. Well, at least this time those without Keradons could bring something to the mountains, so the number of aint vs aint fights (Where neither side have legal Mechs and the attacker always win) would probably be severly reduced. Of course, if someone insisted on bringing only 40+ ton Mechs to the tops, they would be soundly beaten by all, and could only win if the target had forgotten/ignored the restrictions as well. I considered my prospects to be somewhat worse than they had been in March. Back then my single Keradon had managed to stay on the slopes, but I suspected many of the opponents had improved their Keradons since then. And lets face it, even if I added a Novum, opponents with a higher licence bringing just one Novum (or other Mech) would fare much better than the last time when they had no legal Mechs. But that was a problem for later. To be fresh and alert some sleep were urgently needed: Setting up a two-Mech formation when I woke up should take almost no time. Wrong. As I rose and went over to the hangar, security was on high alert and had gotten into their heads that I might be a robot. I denied it, but was required to pass several time consuming tests. Finally they grudgingly allowed me into the hangar, but getting the two Mechs out of storage, equipping and arming them took more time than anticipated, and while I was working on it, the scramble started.. -And ended. So there was no participation from our side, and to get footage from the fighting several rounds of begging from friends who had been present was required. It turned out that those who showed up and did best in the event had been: Div 1 416+ (22 Commanders): Sherriff Leary Wretham, Odin`s secret chamber (53s) 2: Christine Mainer 3: Gary Muenzel 4: Makema Mathews 5: Bernard Johnson 6: Lewis Reed 7: Jeff Haas 8: Larry Vandervort 9: Were Wolf 10: Jay Fleharty Div 2 -415 (11 Commanders): Stroker Spot, Death Dealers (2m,59s) Div 3 -321 (12 Commanders): Chong Chin, Heroes (3h,7m) Div 4 -208 (15 Commanders): Brian Patenaude, Black Star Renegades (9h,43m) Div 5 -151 (14 Commanders): Brian Wilson, Smurf Platoon (1h,8m) Div 6 -121 (6 Commanders): Scott Eggers, Smurf Platoon (10h,39m) Div 7 -93 (19 Commanders): Worm, Murdermechs (27m,23s) Div 8 -63 (15 Commanders): Chuck Auld, Murdermech Micro (20s) Div 9 -35 (20 Commanders): Wulfrik MacGregor, Murdermech Micro (1m,13s) 1(S)+1(S)+2(G,S)+4(G,2S)+1(G)+1(S)+5(2S)+3(G,1S)+14(G,4S)= Four Golds, thirteen Silvers and fourteen Bronzes was awarded to Commanders who might have had only legal Mechs in their formations. Total Contestants: 134 Total medals claimed: 118 (of 135 possible) Compared to the previous (75 ton max) event, the number of contestants were reduced by thirty-two. This reduction, aided by some serious imbalance between the tops, resulted in seventeen unclaimed Bronzes from a total of four tops. (those were returned for resmelting after the award ceremony) The last half-hour saw five Golds change hands at least once, two of them decided less than a minute before the light flashed. Three other Golds were held for at least two hours. So we had some solid winners, but mostly contested Golds. Question is if the struggle for the rest of the prizes were equally fierce? To find out we take a look at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event: .............Silvers......Bronzes Div 1 ....0 of 4.........7 of 10 Div 2 ....0 of 4.........4 of 6 Div 3 ....2 of 4.........4 of 7 Div 4 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10 Div 5 ....4 of 4.........9 of 9 Div 6 ....4 of 4.........1 of 1 Div 7 ....1 of 4.........5 of 10 Div 8 ....4 of 4.........8 of 10 Div 9 ....3 of 4.......10 of 10 We had three tops (K4, K5 and K6) without even a single successfull medal attack. At the other end of the scale was Mount Olympus, K2 and K7 where most of the medals found fresh holders. A total of fourteen Silvers(39%) and fifteen Bronzes(21%) changed hands, both a lot lower than the 56% turnover for the Golds. Both the Smurf Platoon (K5 + K6) and Murdermech Micro (K8 +K9) brought home a double Gold from this event. There were no unaligned winners, but we had two repeat winners: Sherriff Leary Wretham form Odin`s secret chamber on Mount Olympus as well as Brian Patenaude from Black Star Renegades on K4. Upcoming event: Wargs This time the Mech/tonnage event we get is Warg/55 tons. No Mechs massing above 55 tons will be allowed to fight on any of the tops. And on the eight highest tops the Warg packs is supposed to dominate, no more than one non-Warg will be legal there. Event ends January 24 between 0130 and 0200 New York Time

Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184: Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1326
(By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184) Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1326 Brought to you by ANN Highlighting the March 3363 Dirty 30 The Gaming Authorities continued their series of restricted events. This was not one of the named Mech events, but any Mech massing 35 tons or more would be treated as an empty space when fighting on the mountains were concerned. Luckily for me there was such an prepared formation in the hangar, and when I finally returned from the latest series of missions against the Unification it was almost ready. It needed some last minute adjustments to the armament, but the start of the scramble was a few minutes into the future when we signed in on K4. Only six other Commanders had what looked to be legal formations, and excepting Carlos Chin of the Heroes their formations were much lighter than mine. Advancing up to the slopes were no problem, and then the only one between me and a new Nephilax was Donald Anthony Alligood from the Black Star Lycan Rangers on the top. As my licence was more than a dozen higher than his, -giving my formation room for an additional Mech, and we outmassed him by better than 200 tons, how much of a problem could he be? Big enough it turned out. It took three tries before he reluctantly yielded the top, and just after the scramble proper had started he threw us back to the slopes. A few tweaks in the armament, -and another couple strikes, saw us back on the top however, and with plenty of supers we were well prepared for a long duel. But that duel didnt come, and my crew were told to start getting footage of the rest of the action. A bit later the light flashed, signaling the end of the climb. And given all the footage taken, it was pretty easy to find out that those who had added new Nephilaxes to their forces had been: Div 1 396+ (25 Commanders): Jeff Haas, Warlocks HQ (2h,16m) 2: Christine Mainer 3: Bernard Johnson 4: Robert C Goetz Sr 5: Sal Vezzosi Jr 6: Larry Vandervort 7: Were Wolf 8: Joe Kump 9: Stroker Spot 10: Jay Fleharty Div 2 -395 (11 Commanders): Randy Taylor, Death Dealers (4h,43m) Div 3 -301 (19 Commanders): myeponym, Death`s Collectors (10h,25m) Div 4 -216 (18 Commanders): Sten Hugo Hiller, Star League (14m,42s) Div 5 -163 (28 Commanders): Grego, Black Star Bandits (2m,33) Div 6 -115 (22 Commanders): Brian Patenaude, Black Star Bandits (15m,23s) Div 7 -87 (23 Commanders): Markus Eisenhand, Renegades (6m) Div 8 -55 (7 Commanders): NameOfProfile, Mad Scientist 1 (5h,37m) Div 9 -36 (17 Commanders): Cathy Goetz, I.N.A. (1m,36s) Div 10 -21 (12 Commanders): Kimmy Dattilo, D.H.o.t.A. (1h,4m) Div 11 -11 (12 Commanders): esg1976 (1d,3h) 3+5+6(1S)+7+5+2+3+2(1S)+9+6(3S)+0= Five Silvers and fourty-three Bronzes were awarded to Commanders who obviously had overweight Mechs in their formations Total Contestants: 194 Total medals claimed: 147 (of 165 possible) Compared to the Classic event we just finished, the number of Commanders showing up increased by thirty-eight. But the imbalance between the tops were back in full force, and a total of eighteen Bronzes from four tops ended unclaimed. (Those were later returned for resmelting) The last half-hour of fighting saw five Golds changing hands at least once, while five other Golds were held for at least two hours, one of them for more than a day. Was this due to strong winners, or more because the attention of most were on the upcoming war? Hard to say, one can make a guess after looking at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event: .............Silvers......Bronzes Div 1 ....1 of 4.........1 of 10 Div 2 ....4 of 4.........6 of 6 Div 3 ....0 of 4.........2 of 10 Div 4 ....0 of 4.........8 of 10 Div 5 ....1 of 4.........6 of 10 Div 6 ....0 of 4.........2 of 10 Div 7 ....1 of 4.........5 of 10 Div 8 ....3 of 4.........1 of 2 Div 9 ....3 of 4.........8 of 10 Div 10 ..4 of 4.........7 of 7 Div 11 ..4 of 4.........7 of 7 On three of the tops (K2, K10 and K11) there was not even a single successfull medal attack. On the other end of the scale was Mount Olympus, K3, K5, K6 and K7 where most of the medals ended at fresh holders. Once more the Black Star Bandits was the sole clan to claim a double Gold. This time on K5 and K6. And while none of the unaligned Commanders managed to claim a Gold, neither did any of the Classic winners manage to get a follow-up win. Upcoming event: Front Line Fight This have become the classic mid war event. As usual, only the front (rightmost) line of Mechs will be involved in any fighting. So Trample is worthless, while Fork, Splash and especially Wide Fork becomes gamechangers to an even greater degree than in the usual events. Event ends September 15 between 0500 and 0530 New York Time

Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184: Mecha Combat #1129 - April 3353 Cannon Strike
(By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184)
Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1129
Brought to you by ANN
Highlighting the April 3353 Cannon Strike
The Gaming authorities decided to have one of the unlimited events with a twist, enhancing one weapontype to deliver nearly twice the normal damage.
Here the improved weapon type was the cannons.
Not a particularly easy venue for me, the armament section of the warehouse is not exactly bulging at the seams due to an overabundance of weapons.
But I do have a formation for this venue as well, although the diifference between it and my main formation is hard to spot at first glance.
The formation was brought out, and as we arrived at the arena pretty early, a spot on the slopes was ours for the asking.
At this point, exhaustion and wounds from the last weeks campaign in the periphery claimed their due, and I returned to the compound for some checkup and sleep.
But the checkup took additional time, and I was sent to the infirmary. Some agressive fungus had attached itself to my back, and was not willing to let go. Full quarantine and a broad spectrum of treatment was applied to combat it, and sleep seemed further away than ever.
Eventually I was allowed to collapse on a cot, and when I woke up the treatment was proclaimed finished.
The event had ended as well, and my crew had returned carrying enough footage for me to figure out the winners this time had been:
Div 1 290+ (27 Commanders): Dexter Berry, Warlock (1m,15s)
2: Bernard Johnson
3: Jeff Haas
4: Jaime Beltran
5: Ben Rail
6: Sal Vezzosi Jr
7: Gary Muenzel
8: David Buchanan
9: Shawn Wretham
10: Claude Poirier
Div 2 -289 (15 Commanders): George Warren, Northwind Dragons (16h,1m)
Div 3 -189 (11 Commanders): Brian Vaughan, T.B. BlackWatch (3h,43m)
Div 4 -155 (18 Commanders): Willie Walton, Northwind Dragons (15h,49m)
Div 5 -124 (13 Commanders): Grego, Phoenix (8h,56m)
Div 6 -89 (22 Commanders): Jon Walker, Diamond Dragons (10h,22m)
Div 7 -68 (12 Commanders): Barbstoyland Barbstoyland, Ronins (11h,59m)
Div 8 -51 (11 Commanders): Paijo Brindil, M&L A.R.S.E. (16h,1m)
Div 9 -34 (13 Commanders): Iain Bryce, *R.V.* (6h,29m)
Div 10 -21 (14 Commanders): Richard Warnecke, *R.V.* (5s)
Div 11 -13 (11 Commanders): igbryce@78, Join for Clan Wars (6h,13m)
Total Contestants: 167
Total medals claimed: 145 (of 165 possible)
Even compared to the low attendance we had in the recent 50 ton event, this time even fewer commndaes showed up. Seven fewer to be exact.
This, coupled to the normal imbalance between the tops, resulted in a total of twenty unclaimed Bronzes from seven tops being returned for resmelting.
We had two contested Golds this time, one of which was not decided until just a handful of seconds remained. The other nine Golds were all held for more than two hours. Given that we had pretty tough winners this time, the question arises about how the struggle for the lesser prizes went. To find out, we take a look at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes
Div 1 ....3 of 4.........7 of 10
Div 2 ....4 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 3 ....4 of 4.........6 of 6
Div 4 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 5 ....3 of 4.........7 of 8
Div 6 ....2 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 7 ....4 of 4.........5 of 7
Div 8 ....1 of 4.........4 of 6
Div 9 ....1 of 4.........7 of 8
Div 10 ..3 of 4.........9 of 9
Div 11 ..4 of 4.........6 of 6
We had a trio of tops (K3, K4 and K11) without any successfull medal attacks. The action on the rest of the tops varied from light to moderate.
The only clan to get more than one win in this event was the *Raging Vengeance*. They brought home the top prizes from both K9 and K10.
We had two repeat winners this time: Iain Bryce from *Raging Vengeance* on K9 and Paijo Brindil of the Myth & Legends Angelic Rogue Smurf`s Enforcers. None of the unaligned Commanders managed to get a win this time.
Upcoming event: Double Rainbow Chrono
As in all Rainbow events the limiting factor is how many Mechs one are allowed to bring into the arena of each model. Here that number is two.
It is also a Chrono, so sign up ASAP to start getting the score needed for the (good) prizes.
Event ends November 17 between 1800 and 1830 New York Time

Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184: Mecha Combat #1044 -  January 3350 Fides
(By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184)
Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1044
Brought to you by ANN
Highlighting the January 3350 Fides
The Gaming authorities decided to hold another event where a Mech model was supposed to shine. This time it was the 50 ton Fides who was chosen.
Unlike the previous such event, featuring the Keradon, here Commanders were allowed to bring in one additional Mech of a different model, provided it had a mass of no more than 50 tons.
Well, that was on the nine highest tops. On the two lowest, K10 and K11 it was a 50 ton max event.
As for me, I planned to attend, and even signed up. But then weariness overtook me, and I returned to the compound for a few hours rest. However, the alarm was not set, so when the sleep period ended the event was long since over.
My faithful crew had fortunately gotten enough footage of the action for me to find that this events winners had been:
Div 1 370+ (23 Commanders): Don Davis, Death`s Collector`s (1m,24s)
2: Sheriff Leary Wretham
3: Stroker Spot
4: Daniel Scott
5: Shawn Wretham
6: Jeff Haas
7: Fabio Favaro
8: Ben Rail
9: Gary Muenzel
10: Dan Ross
Div 2 -369 (16 Commanders): Jay Fleharty, Warlocks/Dragons (1h,42m)
Div 3 -240 (5 Commanders): Ales Tomasek, Angels of Osiris (6h,43m)
Div 4 -199 (14 Commanders): Drake Hunter, Star League (7m,32s)
Div 5 -160 (18 Commanders): 1GoML, Diamond Dragons (3h,45m)
Div 6 -115 (15 Commanders): Msteven Salo, M&L list 2 (6h,10m)
Div 7 -86 (17 Commanders): Robert Pawulski, Ronins (18h,44m)
Div 8 -65 (16 Commanders): Stug Hill, Behemoth (25m,45s)
Div 9 -43 (13 Commanders): Susan Salo, Behemoth (4h,16m)
Div 10 -30 (11 Commanders): Fitzwilly, Jagdstaffel 2 "Faction War" (9h,14m)
Div 11 -19 (14 Commanders): allanbrainstorm, I.N.A. (13h,42m)
Total Contestants: 162
Total medals claimed: 147 (of 165 possible)
Compared to the Rainbow Chrono we just had, the number of contestants was reduced by eighty-six. Was it the shortness of the climb, the format or exhaustion after the Chrono?
The curse of K3 was back in full force, and given the regular imbalance between the tops we also had, none could be surparised when a total of eighteen Bronzes from a total of five tops ended unclaimed and were returned for resmelting.
The last half-hour saw a trio of Golds changing hands ar least once, while seven Golds were held for more than two hours.
Was this due to strong winners, or little fighting? One indication is to look at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes
Div 1 ....2 of 4.........7 of 10
Div 2 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 3 ....4 of 4......…….N/A
Div 4 ....1 of 4.........9 of 9
Div 5 ....3 of 4.........9 of 10
Div 6 ....2 of 4.........9 of 10
Div 7 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 8 ....0 of 4.........4 of 10
Div 9 ....4 of 4.........8 of 8
Div 10 ..4 of 4.........6 of 6
Div 11 ..4 of 4.........9 of 9
All over, this was apretty static event. On six of the tops (K2, K3, K7, K9, K10 and K11) nio succesfull attacks took place, and only on K8 was the majority of the medals in play.
The only clan to claim multiple wins in this event was the Behemoth. They took the top prizes on K8 and K9. The sole repeat winner was Diamond Dragons 1GoML, and none of the unaligned Commanders managed to secure a spot on any of the tops.
Upcoming event: Triple Rainbow
Here we have another Rainbow event, but this time it is a sudden death. Number of Mechs from each model that can be used in the arena is 3.
Event ends August 9 between 2000 and 2030 New York Time

Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184:  Mecha Combat #1034 - September 3349 Wolfpack
(By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184)
Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1034
Brought to you by ANN
Highlighting the September 3349 Wolfpack
This time the Gaming authorities decided to have a Wolfpack event.
My heart did a sudden jumpaloo in my chest when I saw it. Would I finally get a chance to try my Wargs?
Alas no. This was a tonnage restricted event where no Mechs more massive than 55 tons were allowed to compete.
That did not exclude me from using Wargs, but there are in my mind Mechs who perform better in that format.
Bruno was given the task of overseeing the formations return to top notch performance, while I had to Return to the neverending struggle vs the paper work monster.
I was also called back into the fray against the forces of the Technomancer, but they were in a strong position and we were not yet ready to close for a high intensity assault.
I got a vid from my team mate Jorge Roman, showing the view from the top of K3. Ah, Star Leagues colors were already present and doing a good job, so perhaps I for once could just be a spectator?
Unfortunately, Bob Goetz hit Jorge, and as he showed no sign of getting up again it was up to me to restore the honor of the clan.
Upon entry a few minutes before the scramble started, I noticed that no more than half of the contestants had legal formations. In addition to me and Jorge from Star League there was (obviously) Bob Goetz from Death`s Brethren, Darryyl Proctor of the Northwind Dragons and roward from the Black Star Lycan Rangers who had bested me in the previous event.
Getting onto the slopes against an out of formation opponent was no trouble, and luckily Goetz was vanquished on the first try.
I tried to establish contact with Jorge, but he was still out. According to his XO he would be awake and ready to fight in say half an hour.
That could well be after the event finished, so my formation was kept on high alert to repeal opponents.
But nothing much happened. Except Jorge got up and whacked a couple opponents.
The time was sufficient to get plenty of footage of all the action, and when the light finally flashed I knew the winners of this event had been:
Div 1 318+ (21 Commanders): Fabio Favaro, Warlock (36s)
2: Jeff Haas
3: Bernard Johnson
4: Sal Vezzosi Jr
5: Joe Kump
6: Shawn Wretham
7: Daniel Scott
8: Terry Cole
9: Were Wolf
10: Dan Ross
Div 2 -317 (13 Commanders): Chris Zimmer, Northwind Dragons (5h,43m)
Div 3 -205 (10 Commanders): Sten Hugo Hiller, Star League (34m,26s)
Div 4 -168 (11 Commanders): Jelloshots Suckeddown, Diamond Dragons (42m,22s)
Div 5 -136 (20 Commanders): Scott Abbott, TB BlackWatch (2s)
Div 6 -96 (16 Commanders): Robert Pawulski, Ronins (15h,23m)
Div 7 -73 (20 Commanders): Ken Holmes, Emerald Dragons (1h,19m)
Div 8 -54 (10 Commanders): Recoil, JC`s Rowdy Bunch (17m,27s)
Div 9 -36 (12 Commanders): John Teck, ICP (14h,50m)
Div 10 -22 (9 Commanders): Iain Bryce, *R.V. 2.0* (3h,22m)
Div 11 -13 (11 Commanders): igbryce78, Mad Scientist 1 (3h,21m)
5+9(1S)+5+4+3+3+6+6(1S)+0+0+0= Two Silvers and thirty-nine Bronzes were awarded to Commanders who obviously had overweight mechs in their formations.
Total Contestants: 153
Total medals claimed: 136 (of 165 possible)
The participation took a dive in this event. twenty-eight fewer commndars showed up to fight for the prizes compared to the number we had in the Top Row. Could it be exhaustion after too much fighting, or perhaps an unwillingness to take time away from the raid?
Either way, given the curse on K3 and the imbalance between the tops we ended up having twenty-nine unclaimed Bronzes from seven tops this time.
The last half hour saw a trio of Golds changing hands at least once, two of them not decided until the last minute. Flip side, five Golds were held for more than two hours.
That spread makes one wonder if it was superior strenght of the winners, or a lethargy among the contestants. One indication of which is to take a look at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes
Div 1 ....3 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 2 ....1 of 4.........7 of 8
Div 3 ....1 of 4.........5 of 5
Div 4 ....2 of 4.........5 of 6
Div 5 ....2 of 4.........5 of 10
Div 6 ....3 of 4.........7 of 10
Div 7 ....3 of 4.........6 of 10
Div 8 ....0 of 4.........3 of 5
Div 9 ....4 of 4.........7 of 7
Div 10 ..4 of 4.........4 of 4
Div 11 ..4 of 4.........6 of 6
On the three lowest tops there was no succesfull attacks launched. At the other end of the scale was K8 and K5 who saw the majority of the medals finding new holders. The action on the other tops varied from just the (intense) Gold struggle on Mount Olympus to plenty of action on K3.
This was another of the "no-events". No Clan managed to get more than one Gold, no unaligned Commanders managed to get a Gold, and there were no repeat winners.
Upcoming event: SelfSame
This is one of the events where a Commander is only allowed to use one model of Mechs in the arena. Exactly which model is up to the Commander, and is choosen by placing one Mech of the preferred model in the Point Mech spot (uppermost rightmost).

Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184: Mecha Combat #1012 - October 3348 Fides
(By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184)
Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1012
Brought to you by ANN
Highlighting the October 3348 Fides
From time to time the gaming authorities launch an event where a select model of Mech is suposed to shine.
Sometimes Commanders are allowed to use a couple support Mechs as well, other times they are not.
As long as the chosen Mech model is a non-Niode one, many Commanders can field big formations.
But if the chosen model is a Niode based Mech the field is divided into the haves and the have nots.
In this case, unless you were fighting on the lowest top (K11), the only legal Mech was the 50 ton Fides. Not even a couple support Mechs were allowed.
When I said the field is divided between the haves and the have nots, it is in reality divided between have some, and have none.
Few are the Commanders who have a full formation of any but BFM Mech models, although there are some who have upward of a dozen of a model, most likely AxeBots, Commissars, Troopers or Banshees.
This can lead to some really exiting furballs. If you do not have any Mechs of the required model, all attacks against you will be automatic wins, even those launched by opponents who have no legal Mechs either.
Of course you are free to strike back against said opponent, and if their formation is out of legal Mechs, it is you who win a bloodless victory.
However, having just one legal Mech, no matter how little upgrading it have been through, is enough to beat off all those who have no legal Mechs.
So perhaps selling off those low tonnage prize Mechs should be delayed a bit until you really need those Niodes?
As for me, I had a pair of upgraded Fides, but was unsure how many the competitors had.
But as the scramble neared, the formations on K4 seemed to be pretty near main, so I grabbed the first formation that had my Fideses in it.
Said formation had not been used in quite a while, and plenty of other Mechs had managed to find a place in it, but time was short so they were allowed to tag along.
At the tournament ground, all the medal giving spots was taken, but a couple bloodless assaults brought me to the lowest slope.
The top was held by Earl Hollembaek from the Slaughter House 5, and I wonderd briefly how many Fides` he had.
But there was only one way to find out, so I struck for the top.
As it turned out, he had just one, and my two ganged up on his and took it out in short order.
Time then ticked away without any challenges to my position.
I managed to get quite a lot of footage from both my own and the other tops, so when the light flashed I knew the winners had been:
Div 1 381+ (19 Commanders): Don Davis, Death`s Collector`s (3h,43m)
2: Sherriff Leary Wretham
3: Jeff Haas
4: Gary Muenzel
5: Ben Rail
6: Bernard Johnson
7: Stuart Myshrall
8: Joe Kump
9: Chad Leon Baker
10: Justin Verret
Div 2 -380 (21 Commanders): Christine Mainer, Spirit of Bunny (1d,2h)
Div 3 -247 (4 Commanders): Mark Shc Wiseman, B.S.L.R. (4m,35s)
Div 4 -205 (16 Commanders): Sten Hugo Hiller, Star League (32m,55s)
Div 5 -169 (24 Commanders): DarthSpidus, S.L.O.T.H. (1d,19h)
Div 6 -121 (17 Commanders): Msteven Salo, M&L NecroManiacs (6h,8m)
Div 7 -93 (25 Commanders): Red Atkins, Steampunk Dragons (1h,57m)
Div 8 -70 (21 Commanders): Ken Freon. T.B. 1st K.H. (1d,14h)
Div 9 -48 (16 Commanders): Nick Walter, *R.V.* (5h,23m)
Div 10 -32 (16 Commanders): Fredy Jiefrancis, *R.V. 2.0* (4h,32m)
Div 11 -22 (30 Commanders): Enigma, *R.V. 2.0* (1d,17h)
0+1(G)+0+0+1(1S)+1+1(1S)+3(G,2S)+2(G,1S)+1(G)=
On the ten highest tops, where Commanders was supposed to use Fides exclusevly, only four Golds, five Silvers and one Bronze were awarded to Commanders who had what looked like pure Fides formations.
Total Contestants: 209
Total medals claimed: 154 (of 165 possible)
Compared to the Red Ant event we just had, the participation rose by two dozen Commanders.
But the curse of K3 struck heavily this time, so one Silver and all the Bronzes from that top ended unclaimed and were returned for resmelting.
The last half-hour saw only one Gold In play, while eight Golds were held for more than two hours, four of them for more than a day.
Sounds like a pretty static event to me, but it could be just superior winners. To get a better feel for the fighting we take a look at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes
Div 1 ....3 of 4.........4 of 10
Div 2 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 3 ....2 of 3......…….N/A
Div 4 ....3 of 4.........9 of 10
Div 5 ....4 of 4.........7 of 10
Div 6 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 7 ....1 of 4.........6 of 10
Div 8 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 9 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 10 ..2 of 4.........9 of 10
Div 11 ..3 of 4.........4 of 10
There were four tops (K2, K6, K8 and K9) without succesfull medal attacks. On the other hand, both K3 and Mount Olympus saw at least half of the medals finding new holders. The action on the other tops varied, from just one Silver attack on K4 to pretty hard action on K7 and K11.
The only clan to get multiple Golds in this event was the *Raging Vengeance 2.0* who brought home the top prizes from K10 and K11. There were no unaligned Commanders
among the winners, and the sole repeat winner was Mark Shc Wiseman of the Black Star Lycan Rangers.
Upcoming event: Red Chrono
Just like in the previous (Ten Red Tons) event, here the only legal Mech to use is the Red Ant.
The difference this time is that it is a Chrono, so signing up ASAP to start scoring points is highly recomended for those who want (good) prizes.
Event ends July 4 between 1500 and 1530 New York Time

Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184: Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #903 - October 3343 Anzu Zoo
(By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184) Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #903
Brought to you by ANN
Highlighting the October 3343 Anzu Zoo
The gaming authorities threw another Mech specific event at us. This time it was the "white lightning" (Anzu) who were supposed to be the star. To spice it up a bit, Commanders were allowed to use up to two non-Anzu`s of up to 20 tons each. That was, unless you were fighting on K12. There it was yet again an unlimited event.
My Anzu formation was not in the best of shapes. Lots of training excersises had left most of them wrecked due to internal explosions. Bruno shrugged his shoulder apolegitacely and claimed we were out of the necessary spare parts to get them operational.
I had no choice but to stay out of the fight, but my clan mate Able Hunter brought back prime footage from the top of K2, so I had no problem telling you the winners this time was:
Div 1 255+ (29 Commanders): Fabio Favaro, Warlock (5m,54s) 2: Jeff Haas 3: Sherriff Leary Wretham 4: Claude Poirier 5: Terry Cole 6: Sal Vezzosi Jr 7: Bernard Johnson 8: Christine Mainer 9: Don Lindley 10: Stuart Myshrall Div 2 -254 (10 Commanders): Able Hunter, Star League (12m,18s) Div 3 -170 (10 Commanders): Colin Toenjes, Heroes (20h,46m) Div 4 -135 (20 Commanders): PloyPloyGunpat, Mad Scientist.7 (43m,1s) Div 5 -102 (16 Commanders): Eman Eliforp, Dinochrome Brigade (52m,52s) Div 6 -80 (10 Commanders): Jack Wade, Sabbatical (3h,55s) Div 7 -68 (15 Commanders): Paul Olenen, Behemoth (1d,41m) Div 8 -52 (7 Commanders): David Anderson, Major Steel (7h,18m) Div 9 -38 (7 Commanders): Robby Nelson, whotheheckarewe (2h,10m) Div 10 -31 (13 Commanders): Paul Dattilo, *Raging Vengeance* (6h,19m) Div 11 -21 (3 Commanders): nmmbrr9, Insane Clown Posse (2h,26m) Div 12 -19 (20 Commanders): Shaggy_Two_Dope, Insane Clown Posse (1h,14m)
2+8(3S)+7(2S)+8+7(1S)+6(2S)+9(1S)+4(2S)+6(G,3S)+12(4S)+3(G,2S)= Two Golds, twenty Silvers and fifty Bronzes were awarded to Commanders who had one or more overweight mechs in their formations.
Total Contestants: 160, Total medals claimed: 135 (of 180 possible) Compared to the participation in the Trooper event we gained fourteen additional Commanders. To few to claim all the Medals, and the narrowness of K11 did not help here. As the event winded down, a total of two Silvers and fourty-three Bronzes from seven tops were returned for resmelting.
The last half-hour saw just two Golds changing hands, while seven was held for more than two hours, one of them for more than a day. Was this a correct snapshot of the fighting? to find out we take a look at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes Div 1 ....1 of 4.........4 of 10 Div 2 ....0 of 4.........4 of 5 Div 3 ....4 of 4.........5 of 5 Div 4 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10 Div 5 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10 Div 6 ....4 of 4.........5 of 5 Div 7 ....2 of 4.........8 of 10 Div 8 ....4 of 4.........2 of 2 Div 9 ....4 of 4.........2 of 2 Div 10 ..4 of 4.........8 of 8 Div 11 ..2 of 2......…….N/A Div 12 ..4 of 4.......10 of 10
Both Mount Olympus and K2 were furballs where the majority of the Medals changed hands at least once. Some action took Place on K7 as well, but the remaining nine tops did not have even one succesfull medal attack.
Insane Clown Posse was the only clan to claim multiple Golds in this event. They brought home the top prizes from K11 and K12. No unaligned Commanders rose to the top this time, and none of the Trooper winners got a follow up Gold.
Upcoming event: Fifty Chrono Here we have an event where no Mechs heavier than 50 tons will be recogniced in the arena, and it is a Chrono to boot. Hurry to the arena and sign up ASAP, formation adjustment can be done later.

Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184:  Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #899 - August 3343 Triple Rainbow
(By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184) Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #899
Brought to you by ANN
Highlighting the August 3343 Triple Rainbow
A Rainbow event was announced. This time it was a triple, and I felt a stirring of interest. Unfortunately, the scramble was at a time I would be otherwise occupied, and as I was expected to slug it out on K2 that was bad news.
Looking at the likely opposition, I refrained from joining, and instead got promises of footage from some friends who were going there.
Later review of that footage showed those who had done best this time were:
Div 1 275+ (23 Commanders): Fabio Favaro, Warlock (40s) 2: Bernard Johnson 3: Terry Cole 4: Jeff Haas 5: Sal Vezzosi Jr 6: Shawn Wretham 7: Gary Muenzel 8: Ben Rail 9: Che Moffat 10: Daniel Scott Div 2 -274 (11 Commanders): James Waddington, T.B. BlackWatch (7h,54m) Div 3 -185 (17 Commanders): KiloToneRecoil, Northwind Dragons (6h,15m) Div 4 -142 (17 Commanders): Willie Walton, T.B. BlackWatch (4h,28m) Div 5 -110 (13 Commanders): Scott Abbot, Steampunk Dragons (2h,28m) Div 6 -85 (13 Commanders): Fred Smith, Black Star Bandits (3h,18m) Div 7 -69 (15 Commanders): Markus Eisenhand, Black Star Bandits (10h,25m) Div 8 -53 (7 Commanders): MalcomeC, M.P.A. "Rangers" (13h,42m) Div 9 -38 (12 Commanders): Don Rafael, Killer Clown Alliance (3h,11m) Div 10 -29 (10 Commanders): Nick Fuller, Killer Clown Alliance (3h,39m) Div 11 -24 (13 Commanders): Alfakih, Killer Clown Alliance (3h,43m) Div 12 -16 (14 Commanders): Dominic Martinez (3h,1m)
Total Contestants: 165, Total medals claimed: 153 (of 180 possible)
The participation in this event rose by 10% (15 Commanders) compared to the previous 30 ton event. While a significant rise is welcome, this time it came from a low base, so a total of twenty-seven Bronzes from a total of eight tops were unclaimed, and were returned for resmelting.
The last half-hour saw just one Gold changing hands (in the last minute), while all the eleven other Golds were held for at least two hours. Sounds like a non event, but we take a look at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes Div 1 ....2 of 4.........5 of 10 Div 2 ....1 of 4.........4 of 6 Div 3 ....3 of 4.........7 of 10 Div 4 ....3 of 4.........9 of 10 Div 5 ....4 of 4.........8 of 8 Div 6 ....2 of 4.........4 of 8 Div 7 ....2 of 4.........5 of 10 Div 8 ....3 of 4.........0 of 2 Div 9 ....4 of 4.........5 of 7 Div 10 ..4 of 4.........5 of 5 Div 11 ..4 of 4.........8 of 8 Div 12 ..4 of 4.........9 of 9
Both Mount Olympus and K2 saw the majority of the Medals change hands, and there was significant action on other tops as well. On the other hand, four tops had no succesfull attacks.
Two clans managed to get a double triumph this time: The Brotherhood BlackWatch (on K2 + K4) and Black Star Bandits (on K5 + K6) However Bright these accomplishments shine, they were overshadowed by the Killer Clown Alliance who secured a trio of Golds (K9 +K10 + K11) We also had an unaligned winner this time; Dominic Martinez took control of K12 and kept the opposition at bay for hours. None of the 30 winners got a follow up Gold.
Upcoming event: King Chrono This is unlimited, this is short, this is a Chrono! Put the best formation on the field ASAP and start scoring before the opponents arrive.
Event ends January 26 between 1800 and 1830 New York Time

Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184: Mecha Combat #1159 - September 3354 Axe Attacks
(By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184)
Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1159
Brought to you by ANN
Highlighting the September 3354 Axe Attacks
This time the Gaming Authorities decided to hold an event featuring the 20 ton Axe Bot. They even allowed you to bring one non-Axe Bot mech as well, provided it massed no more than 20 tons.
-An exception were made for those fighting on K11, they could use any Mechs they wanted, provided they massed no more than 20 tons each.
At least those without the Mech model in question could avoid being automatic targets, provided they remembered to place a sub-25 tonner in their formations.
As for me, a trio of Axe Bots were ready, and an War Horse were outfitted to carry supplies for them.
But for the moment, there were still a raid going on, so the mountain would have to wait for a while.
The raid went well. I might have been carried away a bit, because suddenly I was recalled to base, and when I had dismounted the suspicion was I was developing a combat psychosis. I wehemently denied such accusations, all the while dodging and pushing my nonexistant triggerbuttuons.
After a forced nap in a straitjacket I was released, and having nothing better to do I took the formation to the mountain to practice some Axe throwing.
A spot on the slopes were claimed without spotting any Axes, and then the connection broke again.
It was reestablished briefly a bit before the scramble, and we just had time to wade onto the top before Connection were lost again.
But my crew held the position, and managed to get enough footage for me to determine the winners had been:
Div 1 341+ (25 Commanders): Sherriff Leary Wretham, Warlocks (6h,44m)
2: Sal Vezzosi Jr
3: Dan Ross
4: Gary Muenzel
5: Joe Kump
6: Ben Rail
7: Jeff Haas
8: Lewis Reed
9: Mk Mathews
10: David Buchanan
Div 2 -340 (9 Commanders): Melissa Powell, B.B.B. (3h,43m)
Div 3 -254 (14 Commanders): Caitlyn Mainer, B.B.B. (8h,22m)
Div 4 -187 (14 Commanders): Sten Hugo Hiller, B.B.B. (31m,58s)
Div 5 -139 (20 Commanders): Jack Wade, Lokta-Volterra (1h,31m)
Div 6 -99 (21 Commanders): Patrick T Kennon, Lokta-Volterra (4h,18m)
Div 7 -73 (14 Commanders): Paul Olenen, M&L A.R.S.E. (1d,2h)
Div 8 -49 (9 Commanders): colehatesme, I.N.A. (1h,31m)
Div 9 -31 (19 Commanders): Watson, I.N.A. (1d,2h)
Div 10 -18 (16 Commanders): Ginger, The Grinch Grenadiers (4h,22m)
Div 11 -10 (12 Commanders): Edward Kenway, BULLITCLUB (16h,5m)
On the ten tops where mainly Axe Bot`s were to fight
2(G)+3(G,2S)+4(G,3S)+4(G,2S)+8(G,3S)+10(G,4S)+7(G,4S)+0+5(G,4S)+1(S)= Eight Golds, twenty-three Silvers and thirteen Bronzes were awarded to Commanders who might have had only legal Mechs in their formations.
(The Gold winner on K11 also had at least one overweight Mech)
Total Contestants: 175
Total medals claimed: 147 (of 165 possible)
Compared to the Chrono we just finished, the number of Commanders showing up decreased by twenty-eight.
Why? It could be the format, or perhaps they were busy in the raid. It is likely the combination plated a role here.
The result was, a lot of medals were not claimed. After the award ceremony a total of eighteen Bronzes, from six tops were returned for resmelting.
None of the Golds changed hands the last half-hour, eight of them were hald for more than two hours, two of those for more than a day.
So the winners were pretty unaproachable. But how about the rest of the prizes, was the competition fiercer there? The only way to find out is to look at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes
Div 1 ....1 of 4.........4 of 10
Div 2 ....4 of 4.........4 of 4
Div 3 ....2 of 4.........8 of 9
Div 4 ....4 of 4.........9 of 9
Div 5 ....4 of 4.........5 of 10
Div 6 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 7 ....4 of 4.........9 of 9
Div 8 ....4 of 4.........4 of 4
Div 9 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 10 ..4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 11 ..4 of 4.........7 of 7
Quiet as the grave on most of the tops. Only three of them had any medal attacks. K5 had fresh action among the Bronzes, K3 saw some action as well, but it was the full bore action on Mount Olympus that gave the viewers their moneys worth.
Both The Indo Nusia Alliance (K8 + K9) and Lokta Volterra (K5 + K6) secured a double Gold. But the mostwinning clan were the Bouncing Blue berserkers who won on K2, K3 and K4.
No unaligned Commander managed to claim a Gold, neither did any of the Chrono winners get a follow-up win.
Upcoming event: Xmas Krampus
Here we get another split event.
On the three lowest tops (K9, K10 and K11) there are no restrictions whatsoever, if you can get it into the formation it is legal.
On the eight highest tops however, only the 70 ton Krampus is scheduled to fight.
Event ends December 29 between 0300 and 0330 New York Time

Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184: Mecha Combat #1126 - March 3353 Axe Attacks
(By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184)
Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1126
Brought to you by ANN
Highlighting the March 3353 Axe Attacks
The Gaming authorities decided to have one of those events where only one low tonnage N-Mech model was allowed to compete; here the Axe Bot.
-Unless you were to fight on K11. There the only limit on Mechs was what you had, and managed to put into the formation.
These events are more than most a case of the haves vs the have nots.
If you had even one factory fresh Axe Bot, none who were without could touch you, and if you were without, any attack against you would succeed.
As most higher ranked Commanders tend to sell off their Axe Bots to concentrate on top Mechs, this could be really interesting.
As for me, there is a trio of Axe Bots in an out of the way corner of the hangar, so I could probably manage a good placement if I put them into the main formation.
Yes that is correct, with all the Circuits happening I would spend most of what little time available to me on them.
The Axe Bots almost disappeared among all the 100+ tonners, but as we arrived at the mountain, they cut a swath through opponents being fully in main.
Unfortunately for me, some other Commanders had brought Axe Bots as well, so it did not go all the way for me. Jason Pedracini of the Northwind Dragons was once again a couple sizes to big for me to handle.
Well, well. Such is life. The crew were left on the top after getting the standard orders: Hold and record. I had to leave for unavoidable meetings elsewhere.
Upon my return, the crew proudly displayed a Silver medal, and handed over the footage of the limited fighting that had taken place.
It took me scant moments to look through it, and find that the winners this time had been:
Div 1 322+ (27 Commanders): Daniel Scott, Leviathan (43m,46s)
2: Mk Mathews
3: Sherriff Leary Wretham
4: Dan Ross
5: George Warren
6: Louis Reed
7: Paul Knight
8: Gary Muenzel
9: Michael Coldwell
10: Joe Kump
Div 2 -321 (11 Commanders): Stroker Spot, Death Dealers (3h,38m)
Div 3 -203 (13 Commanders): Jason Pedracini, Northwind Dragons (15h,23m)
Div 4 -167 (10 Commanders): Drake Hunter, Star League (6m,9s)
Div 5 -132 (17 Commanders): Jack Wade, "R.V." (21h,13m)
Div 6 -95 (19 Commanders): Patrick T Kennon, "R.V." (15m,43s)
Div 7 -73 (12 Commanders): Paul Olenen, M&L NecroManiacs (17h,14m)
Div 8 -53 (8 Commanders): Rich Gibas, Arctic Warfare Bandits (12m,56s)
Div 9 -33 (12 Commanders): Watson, Jagdstaffel 2 (50m,39s)
Div 10 -20 (16 Commanders): foneyboy, Dawg Patrol (19m,5s)
Div 11 -12 (13 Commanders): Brother_Captain (19h,17m)
2(G,S)+1(S)+1(S)+0+3(G,2S)+3(3S)+1(G)+2(G,S)+3(G,1S)+0= Five Golds, ten Silvers and one Bronze were awarded to Commanders that might have had pure Axe Bot formations. The rest of the medal winners might have had some Axe Bots as well.
Total Contestants: 158
Total medals claimed: 139 (of 165 possible)
Compared to the previous, SelfSame event, eighteen fewer Commanders signed up for this event. Whether that was because a lack of Axe Bots, or lack of time because all the Circuits is hard to say.
But the result were pretty obvious. There were to few contestants to claim all the prizes. So in the end, a total of twenty-six Bronzes from seven tops were returned for resmelting.
The last half-hour saw four Golds being fought over, while five Golds were held for more than two hours.
Was this due to strong winners, or a lack of fighting? Hard to say, but one can draw conclusions after looking at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes
Div 1 ....4 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 2 ....4 of 4.........5 of 6
Div 3 ....4 of 4.........8 of 8
Div 4 ....2 of 4.........4 of 5
Div 5 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 6 ....3 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 7 ....4 of 4.........7 of 7
Div 8 ....2 of 4.........2 of 3
Div 9 ....4 of 4.........7 of 7
Div 10 ..3 of 4.........9 of 10
Div 11 ..4 of 4.........8 of 8
On five of the tops (K3, K5, K7, K9 and K11) there was not even one succesfull medal attack. K2 had a late joiner, there was some scuffle on Mount Olympus, and we had the Gold Strike on K6. K4 and K10 had some action, but only on K8 did we see at least half the medals in fresh hands.
"Raging Vengeance" was the sole clan to grab multiple Golds this time. They won on both K5 and K6.
None of the Selfsame winners got a follow-up Gold, but we had one unaligned winner; Brother_Captain on K11.
Upcoming event: Recon in Force Chrono
This event is for the Huge Mechs and downwards, Maximum tonnage allowed for individual Mechs is 85 tons.
Event ends November 14 between 2300 and 2330 New York Time

Highlighting the February 3342 Smaller Gateways
A new event was announced: Smaller Gateways. At least here in the Mainverse, as opposed to the Multiverse, we got actual limits.  (Whether the majority of the Commanders who showed up was unaware of the limits or couldn't be bothered to adhere by them is another topic.)
I took a look at the limits and was planning to attend. Then Bruno pointed at the near empty resource bins, and reminded me of the huge fame factor one would get for any medal on K2.
So I refrained, and had someone who went there promise me footage from the fighting. Later review showed the top guns this time had been:
Div 1 221+ (30 Commanders): Fabio Favaro, Warlock (42s) 2: Bernard Johnson  3: Dexter Berry  4: Terry Cole  5: Shawn Wretham  6: James Waddington  7: Claude Poirier  8: Larry Vandervort  9: Sal Vezzosi Jr  10: Don Davis Div 2 -220 (12 Commanders): Mike Wach, B.S.T.H. (3h,20m) Div 3 -148 (19 Commanders): Willie Walton, T.B. BlackWatch (9m,13s) Div 4 -110 (9 Commanders): Chris Page, Death`s Revenge (10m,39s) Div 5 -89 (18 Commanders): Siegfried Gust, Black Star Bandits (6h,4m) Div 6 -68 (17 Commanders): Markus Eisenhand, Black Star Bandits (16h,53m) Div 7 -54 (6 Commanders): Douglas Rainey, Death`s Demons (21s) Div 8 -44 (6 Commanders): JY Kir, Raging Vengeance (10h,1m) Div 9 -30 (9 Commanders): David O`Donnell, Raging Vengeance (1h,6m) Div 10 -21 (12 Commanders): Shawn Belliveau, Raging Vengeance (1m,29s) Div 11 -16 (14 Commanders): Dia Sayu, alternatif (2h,43m) Div 12 -13 (14 Commanders): Dacotah Keeler, Raiders (2m,42s)
7(2S)+6(2S)+10(1S)+6(2S)+6(1S)+8+2(1S)+5(G,3S)+6(3S)+8(G,2S)+11(G,4S)+2(G,1S)= Four Golds (33%), twenty-two Silvers (46%) and fifty-one Bronzes (62%) was awarded to Commanders who had overweight formations.
Total Contestants: 166, Total medals claimed: 142 (of 180 possible) Compared to the Cruiserweight Chrono we just had, the participation was reduced by fifty-eight Commanders.  Is it just me imagining it, or do the shorter events attract fewer contestants?  The fact that the divisions were uneven as well, the biggest division had as many participants as the four smallest divisions combined, did not help when it came to the award ceremony. A total of thirty-eight Bronzes from eight tops was unclaimed and were returned for resmelting.
The last half-hour saw six Golds change holders at least once, two of them the last minute. Five Golds were held for more than two hours. Sounds like a pretty active event, huh? To find out how active it actually was we take a look at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes Div 1 ....0 of 4.........9 of 10 Div 2 ....4 of 4.........7 of 7 Div 3 ....2 of 4.......10 of 10 Div 4 ....3 of 4.........4 of 4 Div 5 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10 Div 6 ....3 of 4.........7 of 10 Div 7 ....2 of 4.........1 of 1 Div 8 ....4 of 4.........0 of 1 Div 9 ....4 of 4.........4 of 4 Div 10 ..2 of 4.........7 of 7 Div 11 ..4 of 4.........9 of 9 Div 12 ..1 of 4.........7 of 9
The only top where at least half the medals changed hands was K7. There was full bore action on the top of Mount Olympus as well. Otherwise, mostly gold grabbing on some tops. Four tops saw no successful medal attacks at all.
Black Star Bandits showed strenght by claiming double Gold (K5 + K6), but Raging Vengeance saw them and raised one top by claiming three Golds (K8 + K9 + K10). There was no unaligned winners this time, but both Death`s Demons` Douglas Rainey and Raging Vengeance's JY Kir managed to get a second win in a row.
Upcoming event: Axe Attack Chrono  Here we again have a split event. On K12 anything goes, whatever Mechs you have to put into the formation is legal. On the other eleven tops the only legal Mech model is the Axe Bot
Event ends December 10 between 2100 and 2130 New York Time

Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184:  Mecha Combat #820 - February 3340 10 Red Tons

Highlighting the February 3340 10 Red Tons
We got a new event. Mech specific this time. Only the original Mech, the Red Ant was supposed to compete here.
For me the event was at an inconvenient time, there were some scheduled meetings I couldn't escape, but there was a chance of me getting there in time. Unfortunately, I had managed to mix up the times, and when I arrived at what I thought was scramble -1 minute, the event was already over.
Some kind souls took pity on me and let me have a copy of their gunnery footage, enough to let me figure out this events winners had been:
Div 1 252+ (29 Commanders): Fabio Favaro, Warlock (6m,14s) 2: Bernard Johnson  3: Jeff Haas  4: Stuart Myshrall 5: Ben Rail  6: Sal Vezzosi Jr  7: Shawn Wretham  8: Che Moffat  9: John T Mainer  10: Claude Poirier Div 2 -251 (9 Commanders): Hendrik Smith, Spirit of Bunny (7h,59m) Div 3 -182 (21 Commanders): Brian Vaughan, Steampunk Dragons (8m,25s) Div 4 -135 (21 Commanders): Peli Huijari, Smurf platoon (6m,58) Div 5 -107 (21 Commanders): Drake Hunter, Sabattical (54m,31s) Div 6 -82 (25 Commanders): Joseph Badbear, M&L NecroManiacs (1h,18m) Div 7 -66 (10 Commanders): Robert Pawulski, Death`s Reapers (6h,44m) Div 8 -51 (10 Commanders): DZ_Howes, Heroes Light Brigade (21h,43m) Div 9 -37 (3 Commanders): Valafar Dem, Borg (1d,53m) Div 10 -29 (16 Commanders): Roger Poulin, MAGA (3h,28m) Div 11 -23 (14 Commanders): Tiffani Pontchartrain, Borg (12h,21m) Div 12 -17 (16 Commanders): LTASH, WOLFDRAGOONS (1h,31m)
2+4(1S)+6+5+3+1+2+4+0+10(1S)+11(2S)+12(3S)= Seven Silvers and fifty-three Bronzes were awarded to Commanders who obviously had other Mechs than Ants in their formations.
Total Contestants: 195, Total medals claimed: 151 (of 180 possible)
Compared to the recent Sixty another twenty-five Commanders stepped forth. But the divisions were again fairly uneven. The Three smallest had fewer contestants combined than the second biggest combined. The result was predictable, a total of one Silver and twenty-eight Bronzes from five different tops were returned for resmelting.
The last half-hour saw three Golds change hands. Of the remaining nine, six were held for more than two hours, one of them for more than a day. The struggle for the rest of the prizes were pretty anemic overall, if you don't believe me, look at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes Div 1 ....2 of 4.........4 of 10 Div 2 ....3 of 4.........3 of 4 Div 3 ....3 of 4.........9 of 10 Div 4 ....3 of 4.........8 of 10 Div 5 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10 Div 6 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10 Div 7 ....4 of 4.........5 of 5 Div 8 ....4 of 4.........5 of 5 Div 9 ....2 of 2......…….N/A Div 10 ..4 of 4.......10 of 10 Div 11 ..4 of 4.........9 of 9 Div 12 ..4 of 4.......10 of 10
OK. Mount Olympus was pretty intense, and 9 Medals changed hands there. The same number as the total on the three following tops. On the eight lowest tops no successful medal attacks took place.
The sole clan to get multiple Golds here was Borg who claimed the top prizes on both K9 and K11. No unaligned Commanders managed a win, and neither did any of the sixty winners make a follow up win.
Upcoming event: King of the Mountain. This is the original event. No restrictions, no bonuses. Whatever you have deployable who fit into a formation is ok.
Event ends October 9 between 1330 and 1400 New York Time (By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184)
