ok random q but does anyone have a good way to emulate the. multi-device streaming service feel with downloaded content?

what i mean is that. the big advantage of stuff like netflix etc has always been that u can watch part of something on one device and pretty seamlessly switch over to another. but sometimes things aren't anywhere in which case im happy pirating them but then u end up in this situation where it's rlly inconvenient to watch on multiple devices.

and i was wondering if there were any ways around that e.g. a privately hosted server that you uploaded content to and then had some way of interfacing with? im decently tech savvy so solutions which require some heavy duty setup aren't out of the question as long as they Just Work once they're set up
