Hey Scouts, today's review is for Dark Shades of Innocence Lost by @mermaidgirl30!! I'm so glad that we have so many sides of the fandom featured in the rec list. This was one spicy cookie 🔥

First of all, your description skills are top tier. The scenes feel so real and I felt the whole energy of Club Inferno. The setting felt like one of the main characters. You added so many small, immersive details that made the scenes feel alive. You have a real talent.

I love the reader’s snarky attitude about dating. It's so relatable cause dating is an absolute cesspool. Also, her(my?) friends are so fun! All of Joel’s dialogue made me wanna hide my face and giggle, idk how to explain it(I’m shy, don’t judge me lol). It was so good, like he’s all confident and magnetizing. To be honest, this story is my dream where a hot person hits on me, lays it on thicker than caramel, and gets me to fold despite my previous intentions because they’re that fucking hot. 

The sexy part in Ch.1–holy shittt. They aren’t even doing that much and it feels so intense. There was a part where the focus zeroes in and the music seems to fade. That part felt like slow motion to read. This was a wild ride, literally.

Phrases I loved:

He leans in closer, and you can smell the cologne dripping off his skin. Can practically taste the whiskey that encompasses his lips.

Sweetheart? Pretty? Oh fuck, you’re in trouble.

You tell him your name, and it floats like a siren’s song off his lips, a trance like lull that sucks you in. (my mouth is hanging open)

calloused fingers finding your thigh as he runs his hand up your smooth skin, leaving burn marks with every place he touches. It’s hot, sadistic, evil. (The word choice is everythinggg)

You moan again at the praise. (YESS PRAISE KINK)

“No,” you hum, voice lilting like a fresh rose as your fingertips dig into the denim of his thigh.
