the imperial measurement system survived the Collapse! Despite the game using metric with distances and also with the funny fish, in lore the imperial system does get used. here is example

#destiny 2 #I first noticed this in one of the Lightfall collectors edition lorebooks #Ikora used the word 'inch' and the writer side of my brain went 'hmmmmmm'#at first I thought the imperial system only survived as a figurative sense #like just some words to use in a sentence #like an 'inch' purely meant 'a small measurement' and not as a real system #so I begun to dig deeper via Ishtar to see if I could find the system actually being used #found this bad boy and went 'my job here is done:#a more personal fun fact #I did all this research just to see if I needed to use cm to refer to my characters heights or use feet like the normal American I am #and yknow what #bungie probably didn't put a lick of thought into this kinda thing when okay-ing the lore #they're just an American developer so ofc there will be American bias in text #BUT THE IMPLICATIONS #this should also be reason why bungie should hire me for lore twam #pls bungo I want to get out of retail #what do I need to do to make you notice me
