literally on a whim this morning i decided i wanted to learn how to knit. ~£1.50 for the needles and some wool from a nearby charity shop, and a couple of youtube tutorials, later and i now have the beginnings of what could hopefully become a scarf at some point in the future

#el talks #i do not currently own a scarf so making one myself would be pretty neat #once upon a time my ex promised to make me a scarf but then decided that making a whole scarf was too much effort #and they gifted me the tiny bit of crochet they did manage to do #i'm allowed to be annoyed by that i think. feels like they wanted the praise from gifting it without being willing to work for it #anyway! that's not the point of this post! the point of this post is knitting (& presumably crochet) have a super low barrier to entry!#this scarf is gonna be ugly af but it will be hopefully functional 😌
