#so today my attending was a very pretty pakistani muslim woman#(mashaallah)#and I’m not sure why but for some reason she just absolutely refused to engage with me 😅#like she would completely avoid making eye contact or having any convos with me#which okay it’s fine not everyone is going to like you#but we have never met and we don’t even know each other 😅#and it made it kind awkward while rounding on the patients because I’d be standing across from her and she’d just completely shift her gaze#just to avoid meeting my eyes#it’s crazy to me because wallah every other doctor both residents and attendings were soooooo kind and engaging#like if anything I’d expect this treatment from a racist old surgeon or something#but it’s crazy when it’s coming from your fellow female Muslim doc#this reminds me of the time when the female Muslim surgery resident made an issue about my hijab in the OR while the nonMuslim attending#had said it was totally acceptable#I’m so surprised that the only time I have issues with my hijab or being muslim is when it’s other muslim women#make it make sense
