Fanfic Writers’ Appreciation Day
I’d like to make a post of my own giving a personal thanks to my friends and fellow writers. This also goes out to anyone who has written fan-fiction. We put our lives on hold, stay up late, drink too much coffee, EDITEDITEDIT, DELETEDELETE, groan in frustration, all for free.
All for the love of writing.
In honor of the day, here is a list of a few famous authors who either started out writing fanfic or CURRENTLY write fanfic (even after being published) for anyone that might feel sad from time to time, thinking that what they do doesn’t matter or will never get them anywhere.
R.J. Anderson, Lois McMaster Bujold, Meg Cabot, Cassandra Clare, S.E. Hinton, Neil Gaiman, Naomi Novik, Lev Grossman, Orson Scott Card...not to mention the mountains of professional writers in movies and television who most likely started out writing Star Trek fan-fiction.
@goddamnitdazai -As my oldest friend, I thank you not only for the beautifully crafted stories you provide, but for pushing me to get back into writing by starting this blog. Your writing is so eloquent and vivid, each sentence like the stroke of a paintbrush and when you finish and finally step back you have this work of art staring back at you. Please never stop writing, you have a true gift with words!
@mysticdaddies -I don’t know how you do it! School, work, family, and yet you can push out 5k words of wonderful in a few short hours. You have such emotion laced in between the words of your stories, so much so that I have laughed until I cried or just plain cried. I don’t know what forces of fate brought us together, but I am sure glad they did. My sister from another mister hahaha!
@dear-mrs-otome -Thank you for everything you write. Foxhole is on my list of favorite pieces. I had just finally accepted my love for Mitsunari when you released this piece, and I couldn’t love it any more than I do. It was perfect, and your portrayal of him was spot-on. I so look forward to reading more of your work in the future.
@yoolee -Geeze...where do I begin. I’ll just say that...I am pretty sure I am a ghost or a zombie at this very moment because Burn Down killed me dead and there’s no way I’m sitting here with a pulse right now after reading that. Everything you write is so finely crafted, the characters are believable...the emotions, the pacing, and your literary voice all mix together into this delicious fanfic cocktail and I am a thirsty, thirsty girl, haha! Thank you for all of your pieces. You have made the SLBP fandom that much more enjoyable for me. I know many others feel the same way! As a writer and a reader, I appreciate you!
---------
There are so many more I’d like to personally thank but this would get way too long. You all know who you are. Whether on this blog or my sideblog saizoswifey I have liked, reblogged, commented or gif’d my love for what you do.
Thank You
