Marley and Mable were pretty much raised by Belle in the freight yard, because I love Belle and she deserved to stay in the show. They were prolly childhood bffs with rusty and stuff and nonsense and other such things

Marley’s little strange shoulder things are meant to be birds nest, because that was a detail that stuck out when doing research. I’m not gonna post the website bc like privacy but the train cars were found in the middle of the woods, and have all these vines and plants growing around them, as is customary for abandoned things, and also just things around here in general (until I had to move to the fucking suburbs. Dishonorable mention to suburbs I fucking hate suburbs they’re so so 👎👎👎👎👎👎)

ANYHOW Mable is fucking PISSED that she can’t race because she’s a train car instead of like. A train. If the subplot that involved Belle, where rusty needed a gal to race with, Mable would have jumped on it immediately.

Mable would also probably be reallyyyy good friends with Electra tbh. They’d vibe together. Also i named her Mable because one of my best friends who’s beautiful and lovely and I love her recently started the Mabel podcast and will not stop spelling it as Mable. And also it sounds like fable. Love you forever Mable

Marley was actually originally gonna be like. A smoking car? And he was just gonna pretty much look like Wall-e but a silly guy human boy. This was mostly because of the headband hairstyle that seemed kinda stoner-esque to me which was pretty cool but then I realized hey wait a minute that isn’t a thing what the hell am I talking about

Unfortunately I don’t have as much lore as I do for Bluebelle yet and I prolly never will because dude starlight express was a bit complicated to my little brain sooooooo I don’t know the mechanics (HA) of the show quite as well as I know cats
