Cater teaches you how to skateboard while you fall on your ass
Yuus pronouns are he/him so fems please dni
Cater was going to admit this once. Only once, and he'll never say it out loud.
He doesn't really care.
Well, that's not particularly true. He does care about some things, his dorm surprisingly being one of them.
But honestly? All that scrolling through magicam? It's mindless. He can't even remember half of the shit he liked and half of the shit he commented. Hell, he's pretty sure that he'd stayed on the same picture for thirty minutes once like some sort of weirdo and he still, for the life of him, can't remember what it was.
Cater had a personality, one he got from social media, but a personality nonetheless.
Sometimes though, he wondered if he was an actual person, and not just a...lifeless relection of trends and who parrots internet slang like it was his full time job, so when he finds something he cares about, it kind of snaps him out of this weird daze that doesn't seem to leave.
Even just for a moment. And whether he knows it or not, he tends to cling to that thing just enough to make sure they don't up and leave.
Yuu was one of those things.
Cater doesn't know how it happened either.
One moment, Yuu's freaking him out beyond belief and he's using every opportunity to get away from him.
And now? Here he is. Skipping out on club activities to teach the poor kid how to skateboard, for once not having the damn near constant urge to space out.
It wouldn't really be good to space out, only to snap back in and realize yuu had broken his nose or something.
So for the moment, he had his undivided attention, but despite his best efforts, falling on your ass and slamming was bound to happen at some point.
It s a skateboard.
Your ribcage will make contact with the concrete like they're long lost lovers.
"Yuu! Yuu, bend your knees! No wait, yuu stop wobbling!", ya know, despite it being called "the wobbles of death", yuu seemed to love doing them.
Not on purpose, of course. He was probably just confused. Cater did his skating through muscle memory and a weird kind of instinct, so he wasn't the best teacher by any means.
But damnit he was trying.
And look! Yuu just lasted an entire fifteen seconds without slamming!
Progress people. Progress.
"Hey Cater? How do I make a turn?
...Very slow progress.
"Just lean to the side you want to turn- not as far as you're thinking", he added the last part quickly. Getting used to the other boys antics.
And wouldn't you know? Yuu managed to make a few turns around the orange cones that cater had set up earlier that evening.
He only fell on his ass twice!
Cater smiled.
"Now do it again. No slip ups!"
Yuu only smiled.
His smiles.
They were shy, darling little things that only came out once in a blue moon.
Now, he actually looked confident.
Like he was finally in control of something.
Caters eyes softened and his smile become a little more real.
Mabey they could state to Sam's shop tomorrow.
"AH-", cater sites snapped over to where his friend was, and then immediately winced.
Yeah...let's make that little trip to next week.

Whumptober day 21- restraints, don’t move
Continuation of day 7
It’s Vio’s turn to have a bad time :)
~~~~~~~~~
Vio sighed as he entered the dark room, collecting anything that he left down there. It had been weeks since he brought Shadow back from the dark world. Though it was hard in the beginning, with everyone questioning Vio’s loyalty, the tension started to ease up. His brothers quickly accepted Shadow despite what he did before. They understood him and his desire to be a part of the family, even Blue didn’t protest against him being there. But the knights, especially his father, were most distrustful. Vio’s relationship with his father was tested, but after a week, they reconciled. Vio still remembers his father saying how he didn’t trust Shadow, but he did trust Vio. So Shadow stuck around, and things were finally easing up.
Vio figured that there was no reason to keep the room where he brought Shadow back a secret, so he came down there to collect his things and to clear it out. He never liked it in there anyways. When he collected his things however, he heard something drop. He spun around, grabbing his sword, but saw nothing, except for something small and round on the ground. Vio set his things down and observed it, it looking like a nut of some kind. It was red and tiny, looking to be the size of a pea. It had strange lips on it that twitched slightly, and Vio scrunched up his nose. What was this thing? Vio had read about all the berries and nuts in Hyrule, but he’d never seen something like this before.
“I know what you’re thinking.”
Vio gasped and spun around, pointing his sword at the man who appeared suddenly behind him. He was tall, with long purple hair that dangled from his head in a messy manner. He had dark markings around his red eyes, which held nothing but fury as he stared at Vio. He grinned, fangs popping out from each side of his mouth, and he gave a dark chuckle.
“You’re probably thinking, ‘what is this thing?’” The stranger continued, moving closer to Vio, which caused Vio to realize that he was hovering in the air. “It’s called a jabbernut. Not many Hylians notice it.”
Vio didn’t move as his sword was pressed up against the stranger’s neck, and he stopped floating closer to him.
“Don’t come any closer,” Vio warned.
“My, you are rude, aren’t you?”
“I know dark magic when I see it,” Vio said, glaring at the stranger before him. “How did you get in here? Who are you?”
The man’s grin fell, and nothing but fury replaced his amused expression. Vio yelped as tendrils shot out and wrapped around his arms, pinning him against the wall. One snaked around his mouth, cutting off his voice so he couldn’t call out for help. Vio squirmed, but the tendrils were too tight. He couldn’t move.
“After everything you did to me, and you don’t recognize me?” He snarled, baring his fangs. Vio turned his head away from him the best he could, but the gaze stayed on him. The furious expression softened. “I suppose it’s unfair to you, I do look a little different…”
The snarl turned into a grin which made Vio’s skin crawl. He grabbed Vio’s chin so that he would face him and laughed.
“My my, you’ve grown up so much, you’re no longer a little brat.”
Vio let out a muffled cry of pain as his hands were forced behind him and he was shoved harshly to the ground.
“I would kill you, you know. I’ve wanted nothing more than to kill you heroes and that traitor. But,” his chin was grabbed again and forced to look at the stranger more aggressively, “it wouldn’t be right for me to kill the one who brought me back, right?”
Vio frowned, confused at what he meant. He only brought back Shadow, who else could’ve possibly been trapped like him? Unless…
No…
No…. No no no no…..
Vaati.
Vio felt his blood run cold as the wind mage grinned at him as if he knew that Vio discovered who he was. He stared at him for a long moment before standing up straight and moving towards the door. Vio fought against the restraints around his arms and wrists but they wouldn’t budge. Vaati stopped and gave Vio one more smirk.
“Do me a favor, and don’t move. I’d hate for you to interrupt me finishing business with this kingdom.”
Vio growled as he fought against the restraints, but Vaati only laughed at him, leaving him alone in the room where all he could do was helplessly struggle. Fear for Hyrule, his family, and Zelda overwhelmed him, and he stopped struggling, horror over what happened, what he did, building up inside of him.
Vaati was back, and it was all his fault.
What had he done?
Lies From the Bad Ending
Chapter 1 - Intro
Tumblr media
Geppetto smiled to his son and Carlo smiled back, blood still on his face. “Good job my son” Geppetto said as he put his hat on and turned to start walking away making a gesture for Carlo to follow. As requested he did.
“Who exactly were they?” Carlo commented as he caught up.
Geppetto gave him a look, and decided to answer his son. “Just some squatters. They took over the Hotel when I left to get you”
“Oh, Good we got rid of them… But they did say some interesting things…” Carlo trailed off.
“Oh, don’t mind that, forget they said anything” Geppetto watched Carlo as his face changed from being interested in the words spoken to a blissful ignorance of them even speaking. Geppetto chuckled to himself… His work is as good as ever.
“Oh, and forget their faces, the rats will get to them soon enough”
“Of Course Father.”
Morning calm
(James Potter / Regulus Black | 295 words)
For @jegulus-microfic prompt: Grass
The moment Regulus steps outside can feel today is gonna be a hot day. You can smell it in the air. As if nature is preparing for a long day. He sits down on the bottom step in front of the door, wrapping his arms around his bend knees. He can hear the birds singing in the trees and a morning owl from the forest. He closes his eyes and lets the warm and calm wrap around him. He inhales the air, and it smells like freshly cut grass. After a while, he hears the door click and James sits down beside him.
“Here you go.” James hands him a cup of coffee.
“Thank you,” Regulus whispers. He doesn’t want to disturb the surroundings.
“What are you thinking about?” James asks and tilts his head in interest.
Regulus thinks about it. About how he always wanted to spend a summer in the countryside. How it never was an option until this year. It feels unreal that he is here, with a boy he loves right next to him. Is this how it feels to be alive?
“I just…” Regulus starts saying but has to stop to choose his words carefully. “I feel free. I can get up right this minute and go wherever I want, do whatever I want. I can just start walking if I decided to.” He turns his head to James. The boy is looking at him with soft eyes. Eyes Regulus could drown in, brown like hot honey.
“And I don’t want to. For the first time in my life, I can go anywhere I want and all I want to do is stay. Here. With you.” James' face widens with a smile as he presses a kiss to Regulus’ cheek.
I STARED AT MY PHONE like I could force the text message on the screen to change. Jemma must have noticed because she shoved her plate of chocolate chip cookies under my nose with a bright smile. And if Jemma had noticed the look on my face then it must have been totally obvious. Because Jemma Moss, while one of the kindest people I had ever known in my life, wasn’t exactly big on picking up on emotional cues.
“You look hungry,” she announced, voice overly bright. I absolutely wasn’t hungry; actually, I’d just completely lost my appetite, so I shook my head in denial. “Eat one,” she persisted anyway, nodding her head encouragingly. “The secret is I make them with peanut butter instead of batter, so they’re delicious, I promise!”
I’d been telling her for a year now that she really needed to open up a bakery. I had every confidence that they were fantastic. I also suspected they would taste like ash to me right now. I sighed.
“No thanks, Jemma,” I shook my head at her and motioned to my phone. “I have dinner with my family in a bit. Gavin just canceled.” I would have asked Jemma if she wanted to come alongactually it was on the tip of my tongue to do just that—but she was kind of weird about family engagements. Any time I’d ever asked her before she refused and then started talking about ducks.
Ducks were her go-to topic whenever she was uncomfortable. I’d learned that in the last few months, since we’d become friends.
Jemma Moss was the only person I’d ever met who appreciated waffles and whipped cream as much as I did. And besides that, she hung out with DK Stewart a lot, who happened to be Gavin’s best friend. Well, Gavin’s second best friend, obviously, because I was Gavin’s best best friend. And we all knew it.
There was also the little suspicion I had that Jemma was as in love with DK as I was with Gavin, which put us in similar emotional turmoil. And it was nice to have company in my misery. Even company that talked about how cute ducks were when they waddled whenever I mentioned anything about unrequited love. Jemma didn’t do conversations about love.
Which was why I only said, “Gavin’s been canceling on me a lot lately.”
Jemma nodded because she already knew this. “He must be spending a lot of time with Tyler.” I knew she didn’t say it to be cruel, that it was just kind of how Jemma was, but I still felt a little tinge of annoyance at her because of it. I picked up one of the cookies and took a bite.
She was right, it was delicious. It practically melted in my mouth.
Jemma grinned at me and walked around the breakfast bar to open up her fridge. She pulled out a carton of milk and poured me a glass.
“What I need,” I told her, inspiration suddenly striking me as I picked up the glass and took a sip. “Is a boyfriend.” My heart skipped a beat at the thought. All this time, I had kept thinking that if I waited for Gavin long enough he would finally realize what was right in front of him and come around. But maybe I’d just been fooling myself.
Maybe he would never see me like I wanted him to; maybe we were better off as friends.
I’d thrown so many hints his way and all he’d done was go from girl to girl, ignoring me at every turn. And now he was even putting his girlfriend before me, which had never happened before. I didn’t like it.
Jemma crinkled her nose, leaning her elbows against the counter separating us. “But what about Gavin?”
I stared at her. “He’s with Tyler…” I sort of loved the way Jemma always pretended that Gavin and Tyler were no big deal. But right now it just wasn’t helpful.
Jemma shrugged. “Won’t he be mad if you get a boyfriend?”
“No, Jemma,” I sighed. “That’s the problem.” The look she shot me seemed to say she didn’t believe me, and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why. Did Jemma know something that I didn’t know? I waited for her to elaborate, but she just picked up one of the cookies and started eating it.
She chewed in silence for way too long before—finally!—adding, “He was mad at me that time I gave you a friendship bracelet.” She licked her lips and poured herself a glass of milk too, before putting the carton away. “Seems to me a boyfriend is way worse.”
“He was jealous because I was spending so much time with you,” I said it slowly, like maybe that would help her get it. To really see how friendships and relationships were not the same thing. But even as I heard the words coming out of my mouth, Jemma’s point really sank home.
If he was jealous of my friends, wouldn’t it make sense for Gavin to be apoplectic about a boyfriend?
I hadn’t had one in so many years, because all I ever thought about was him. And most guys were not cool with the way that Gavin and I hung out. Most girls weren’t, either, to be honest. But Gavin always seemed to manage to find the ones that were.
“You know what, Jem?” I beamed at her. “I think we should go out tonight.”
She wrinkled her forehead, finishing off her cookie with a confused look. “I thought you had dinner with your family?”
I waved that away. “I’m not feeling that tonight. Tonight I’m feeling Blacklight and colorful margaritas!” Blacklight was the only bar in town, and I was finally old enough to use my real ID there. It was about time I utilized that.
I was tired of thinking about Gavin, or other guys, or any other drama. I just wanted to go out and have a good time. And if I happened to meet someone who wasn’t Gavin, who gave me the same goosebumps, then thank the Lord for miracles.
“What do you say? You want to be my partner in crime tonight?”
If there was one thing I knew, it was that I could definitely have a good time with Jemma Moss.
