I’m a little obsessed with the idea of Ford making himself the most involved support network he can for Dipper and Mabel when they go off to college. Like weekly phone calls even if it’s just for five minutes to say “hey how are you you’re not alone I love you”. He knows what it feels like to be isolated, adrift in a new environment. He knows it can be hard to reach out, so he wants to make sure his niblings know he’s always reaching out already should they ever need him.

He makes sure he’s keeping up with what Wendy, Soos, Fiddleford, and the townsfolk are up to so that he can relay it to Dipper and Mabel, which has the (unexpected for Ford but unsurprising to anyone else) side effect of Ford gaining his own network of companions. If the kids are having trouble with their homework he does his best to help, but if it’s some subject he’s not versed in he’s quick to go to his college yearbook and find the name of someone he knew who majored in that field and tells Dipper and Mabel to look them up on the internet because “I hear you can do that now. You can find anyone but Stanley and D.B. Cooper. That’s because your uncle is technically dead and last I saw D.B. Cooper was in the Alibi Dimension.” Dipper reaches out to the alumni sometimes. He becomes sort of pen pals with this old guy who got his film degree at Backupsmore in his forties. The guy’s older than Ford, still works as a professor, and is thrilled to talk with a young, excitable student like Dipper. Mabel reaches out to ANYONE with fashion, dance, music, or any other liberal arts degree. She’s got about 400 LinkedIn connections and a lot of invitations to some family potlucks.

Sometimes even if Ford knows the answers, he still asks Fiddleford to help. It makes Ford happy to visit his friend and hear him proudly explain something that he helped Dipper solve over the phone. Ford tries so hard not to think of a world where this conversation is different, where Fiddleford has clearer eyes and is telling him all about how proud he is watching his Tate grow up.

“No use dwellin’” Fiddleford would say. “Not while we got years ahead.”

And Ford would say “Alright.” And after catching up with his old friend he would excuse himself because it was Friday and the kids would each be expecting a call. He would walk back home and scroll through his phone looking for the kids’ numbers, marveling at how long his contact list has become. How odd, to have lived in a town so long and only now be discovering the people. Oh well. No use dwellin’. Besides, Gravity Falls was full of odd things.

3- Last movie: the shining!! I actually wanna make lots of posts on it since I loved it, I definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a old horror movie experience and some psychological discomfort, like, not gonna extend much, but as a victim and someone who lived with someone similar to Jack, THIS MOVIE GOT ME ON THE EDGE OF MY SIT

4- last tv show: The midnight gospel!! I actually rewatched the last ep for inspiration for a podcast I'm writing myself, plus, it's a moment in my life I need to brace myself for imminent grief, of loss of people but also of changes in life, things that will never come back to be like they were before, and that episode just..helps me a lot, I definitely recommend the show and I'd LOOVE to discuss it with people

6- Favorite color: purple and crimson. Like purple is a color so tied to important aspects in my life but also a color that kinda always brought me comfort and defined me, so deep, so understanding, connected to creativity and spirituality...and well crimson is so elegant and unique, a shade of red no other shade can compare to

7- Sweet/Savory/Spicy: SWEEEEEEET like I have this gigantic sweet tooth, while I was studying I munched on chocolate chips to keep going, every weekend when I visit my dad, he lives in a japanese street, and in there there's this famous cafe and ALWAYS when I have enough money I run to the cafe and I get a new york roll pistachio flavored and a boba from a nearby store and eat it happily, sweets give me life.

Also spicy food can die in hell, it's just pain no joy.

8- relationship status: dating for almost a year now!! I'm very happy and do imagine a future with the person I'm with, we're actually going to an LGBT exposition, it'll be fun ^^

9- looking forward to: creating more things and talking more to my moots. I mean I know so many amazing people and I'd love to know more about them, show them I care and support their projects, and..include them in my own things, also I'd love to create more in terms of writing, streaming and cosplay

10- Current Obsession: oh boy..bleach, Rick and Morty, Epic the musical and Cult of the Lamb

I actually managed to watch all 7 seasons of Rick and Morty in 3 days (only skipping some terrible eps like the horse one and the dragon one bc wtf) and I can't wait to talk more abt the show!! I'm playing cult of the lamb like I'll die if I don't and I'm actually making a goat cosplay from scratch!!

Epic kinda ignited my love for history and mythology as a whole and I can't stop listening to it, my favorite saga? Circe's saga.

And as for bleach..it never fully vanishes

I'll say it as many times as it needs to be said. There is absolutely miniscule actual harm that comes from engaging with Harry Potter in 2024. JK Rowling does not need money. Anything sent her way is less than a rounding error. And the book series was literally EVERYWHERE in the 90s and 2000s. Like it or not, it DID impact a whole generation of people - pretending that never happened is completely absurd, if not outright irresponsible. It happened. It's just a fact. Harry Potter is mainstream. There is nothing that can be done to 'promote' it. It's already there.

What all this obsession with HP on tumblr is about? An easy way to smugly define Good People from Bad People. Because if you *really* cared about trans people enough, you'd hate everything associated with Harry Potter. Regardless of how much you adored it when you were 8 and went to Harry Potter parties with your family all dressed up quoting book lines at one another in your most precious childhood memories because for once your special interest actually aligned with the people closest to you. No, all those positive associations should have been deleted instantly. If you *cared enough*, it would just *happen*.

Which is why a whole slew of people who previously had earnestly reblogged posts about Moral OCD and how bad tumblr can be about it were suddenly cackling about how buying Hogwarts Legacy was comparable to *refusing to throw The One Ring into Mordor, starting a war that would kill millions.* And how donating to a pro-trans charity (an act that would have VASTLY more impact than aforementioned rounding error) is comparable to 'donating to a pro-elf charity' in the wake of that.

Because tumblr doesn't actually give a shit about autistics or OCD sufferers. When we complain about stuff that they also dislike, they proudly reblog that and rage in the notes about how selfish and cruel and Individualist those other people on tumblr are!!! But the *second* they get to paint themselves as the ones with '''''good thoughts and feelings'''''' they take it, and make up posts about how HP likers 'believe they're the main character and everything should revolve around them.'

Is it actually about whether something causes harm? Or is it about dividing the world into Inherently Good People and Inherently Bad People? Is it actually about doing real good for the community and making the world a better place? Or is it about shaming people with the Wrong Emotions until they fucking hate themselves and spend hours upon hours ruminating on end trying to change themselves because their inability to let go of positive Harry Potter feelings is OBVIOUSLY evidence of a truly inescapably evil and cruel and wretched identity that the world would be better off without?

Which is it, actually? When it actually feels a little bit good to feel like you're on the Right Side of all of this, for once?
