thinking about the duffers saying the people they kill off are the ones that need to be punished. thinking about the GA’s condemnation of mike as someone who’s hurting both el and will regardless of intent. thinking about his character’s “devolvement” leading to half the people who watch the show reducing his character to el’s boyfriend or outright hating him. thinking about how if anyone in-show has metaphorical blood on their hands it’s him. thinking about how they’re going to “punish” him for it and what it’s going to reveal about his motivations.

Alright this is kind of a scuffed/unorganized post but bear with me, and of course, since this is under the byler tag, i’m going to be describing some things that I think will happen in season 4, volume 2 of Stranger Things.

After Nancy and Robin hear the story of that old man (sorry I forgot his name lmfao) they come to a theory that music is what keeps Vecna away, I think everyone can agree on this based on what we’ve seen, especially with Max and her scene. But hear me out, it’s not the music, it’s the memories attached to the music. I don’t think that you NEED music to survive Vecna or the Upside Down in general, it’s just a common thing people attach good memories to. I’ll probably make a separate post about this idea/theory because there’s a lot I want to discuss about it.

Anyways, how does this relate to byler? So I think we can all agree that Will’s gonna get “vecnad” in volume 2, like its pretty obvious. I’ve seen a lot of theories saying that everyone is going to be scrambling to find Will’s favorite song to save his life. I strongly believe that music won’t save Will. Since we have already experienced a super emotional scene with Vecna and Max and everything was intense, they’re most likely not going to do something like this again in the show. I think what will really save Will, is something that Mike is going to say to him. Whatever Mike says, I have no idea, it could be anything, it could be him admitting that he really did care and that he was sorry, but who knows. Whatever Mike says, it will bring Will out of his trance, and it will prove that you don’t need music.
