#rusty lake tag #albert vanderboom #the salt files #this man is a fascinating rabbit hole of food for thought about abuse vs culpability #at what point the abuse you've been/are going through; the legitimate roots of even your nastiest qualities; stop mattering when it comes #to your choices and how you act on them #and for that matter what 'mattering' /means/ here #and it's /also/ good food for thought about critically examining the narrative you've been presented with from a doylist perspective #even if you get a lot of good stuff out of approaching it in a watsonian way #so you can catch when the narrative is feeding you bigotry in hopes that you'll take it at face value #and maybe learn some things about how to spot harmful framing and rhetoric and the prejudices it demonstrates toward a marginalized group #both as depicted in fiction and weaponized against people irl #and it's both shitty and a real waste to forcibly and aggressively dump that in the trash on a fandom-wide level #anyway albert did nothing wrong poor little meow-meow can have a little horrific atrocities toward innocents as a treat etc etc
