TwT <3 Thank you!!! I'm so excited to talk about them I feel like I'm gonna explode. Under the cut because... well it's a lot again. Surprise.

Vampire Powers

YES. This world of mine has all sorts of creatures and magic. And the vampires have your classic stuff: super hearing, speed, strength, vision, immortality, super-healing. Some other potential vampire powers are:

turning into a bat or wolf (quite rare)

thralling (mind control)

mimicking voices

telekinesis

levitation

mind-reading

telepathy

Vampires don't get all these powers. Sometimes they get none at all. But Laurent can bat and Rayne can thrall, though he doesn't like to use it.

The Sun

Yes! Vampires can go in the sunlight. It stings, sometimes it hurts like hell. But it doesn't burn Rayne to ash. Older vampires… Might be less lucky in that. :') But those ones would just stay inside or carry a parasol or something.

Elliot's Major

Elliot is… Well, honestly I don't know anymore. I've changed his major a million times. TWT He was going to be a Psych major at first, then an English major or a Computer Science major… I don't honestly know. TWT I do need to figure it out. Maybe he hasn't figured it out either? Maybe he's switched a couple times?

Poke Poke

Haha! I know. He just 'I don't believe my eyes, but maybe I'll believe my fingers?' He pokes at one of Rayne's fangs and the vampire has to stop breathing because oh, there's a human finger in his mouth suddenly. But Rayne gently sort of Removes His Hand and Elliot's like 'oh my god I'm sorry that was so weird'.

Moving In

Haha, they got that autism and bond over their shared interests and hyperfixations! Rayne liked video games, you know, before his life ended. He had a NES and a GameBoy back then, Elliot has a Playstation and a Nintendo DS. Rayne grew up watching Star Trek with his mom, Elliot has box sets of the DVDs. They both like Queen- Rayne saw them live three times and has their records, Elliot has some CDs.

They're just… They just… *starts weeping*

Elliot's Twin

Also! You didn't really ask about Elliot's twin, but I am going to give you context anyway! Elliot was an identical twin. Until their first year of college, when his brother came out as his sister. He was surprised but supportive. :) Her name was Emmett before and when she was trying to pick a more femme name, Elliot was like, "Everyone already calls you Em. Just… pretend it's short for Emma or Emily or something like that. For now."

So she did. Elliot had told her he was gay in high school. So they were out to each other and no one else.

After their first year, they come home for break. Em gets her hair cut and they both have to climb back into the closest. But there's not enough room for both of them. Em has a couple pictures of her kissing a boy and a pencil bag full of cheap make up in it. She forgets them on the dresser. When their parents see, she blurts out that those are Elliot's things, that he's been gay since high school.

Elliot gets home from picking up some groceries and gets promptly kicked out. So, Em threw him under the bus. But she thought it would be okay. She didn't mean to. She just panicked. She thought a gay son would be easier for them to swallow than the truth. But she was wrong.

Laurent's Issues

He has some powerful enemies, who target both him and Rayne. Thus Laurent becomes increasingly paranoid about letting him roam free. He keeps Rayne close. And starts making other vampires, building a small army, supposedly to keep them safe. He doesn't really explain all this paranoia to Rayne. He just assumes that he understands.

The newer vampires don't like Rayne much. Once Laurent had to travel and he left them behind. They locked Rayne in a coffin and forgot him there until Laurent returned to find him nearly dead. Laurent kills those ones. And Rayne refuses to go into any confined space. Laurent warns him of the sun but Rayne just won't go. He ends up discovering that the sun thing is a myth, by going to the window and sticking his hand into a beam of sunlight.

And the two of them start sleeping in an actual bed, like real people. :)

The paranoia takes over again a couple of years later and Laurent starts making new vampires again. He thinks that if he treats them all equally, they won't be jealous of Rayne. So... he is romantic with them.

When Rayne finds out, he's heartbroken. He argues with him, Laurent gets annoyed. Rayne finally says something that pisses him off and Laurent drags him into that coffin and locks him inside till morning. Rayne screams and cries for Laurent to let him out and tries to claw his way through the lid but he can't.

The next day, he runs away for good.

Hey Aerie! I have some questions for your OCs. Is it playing in 2008? Does Elliot have contact to his twin or is his twin an asshole too? How did Rayne's relationship end?? Is his dislike of long blond hair because of his ex? How is Elliott's and Rayne's dynamic? Like how do they act with each other? How do they act in the beginning?

Oh my god someone asked about my guys!!! TWT I'm putting it under the cut because I lost my mind and blacked out and wrote a whole giant response. You don't have to read the whole thing. :')

Okay, yes! The story is set in 2008. Elliot's twin is the person who outed him to their parents. :( The ultimate betrayal by the person he was closest to.

Something bad happens and Rayne's maker (named Laurent and who I will hopefully make an OC Profile for later) sort of… goes very insane and does a lot of terrible things to Rayne. (For instance, cheating on him and gaslighting him and locking him in a coffin.) And Rayne finally decides to leave- while he can. TwT

Also yes! Laurent had long blond hair that reached the middle of his back. Every time Rayne sees hair like that, his heart skips a beat and he turns to go in the opposite direction. Just in case it's him.

Rayne and Elliot! (One hundred heart emojis.)

Well, they're both really awkward at first. Elliot thinks he's stumbled across some sort of homicidal madman in the woods and Rayne is like "No, no, no. I promise. I would never hurt anybody!" And when Elliot clearly doesn't believe that, he ends up blurting out, "I'm a vampire." And he shows Elliot his fangs, which Elliot immediately tries to poke because he's a silly idiot.

But yeah! Rayne hasn't really talked to another person in a long time and Elliot has been basically living in hell since he got to England. During the fight he had with his roommate, he ended up getting locked out of their place. So Rayne awkwardly is like "You could… stay with me tonight?"

Because he's dumb and also because he can't just let this human go and tell everyone he knows he just saw a vampire in the woods! But he doesn't want to hurt Elliot. He just wants him to not blab his secret. But yeah. Elliot is also stupid and agrees. So they go to Rayne's apartment and hang out for the weekend. And Rayne sort of tries to prove that he wouldn't hurt anyone, but Elliot believed him immediately. (Because Rayne is pretty and Elliot is a dumb gay idiot.) But yeah. They become friends over the weekend.

And neither of them wants Elliot to go back to his dorm. But he has to. And then they're both sad and miss each other.

Like instead of Insta-Love, it's Insta-Friendship because they have a lot in common despite being two decades apart. (They both like the same movies and books and music and food.) After a few weeks, Rayne ends up asking Elliot to live with him because he misses him so much. He is starved for attention and social interaction. And Elliot's roommate is actually terrible. So it's a two birds/ one stone situation! And they become roommates who hang out all the time. Then it becomes Romantic a while later! :D

They both like each other a lot, but Elliot was in a shit relationship a couple years ago. And Rayne is still traumatized from his past. So they're both sort of dance around it until one night when their mutual attraction is revealed and they're both like "WHAT? We could've been kissing this whole time?"
