makes a huge deal of things whenever you dye your hair simply because he thinks what you do with yourself is cool; and since its the digital world you can get away with dying your hair as often as you want! cant damage what technically isnt real! probably makes hair color suggestions and is absolutely thrilled when you actually follow through within the coming days. prepare to have some weird combos, though... probably changes the color of his suit to match your hair... even adds stripes if your hair has stripes, or any other pattern dyed into it

POMNI:

honestly? more power to you, thats her reaction mostly. would pomni dye her own hair, or otherwise get anything to modify her appearance? probably not... but she thinks you look great with it... probably asks why you chose the current color you went with, as well as asking whenever you change. nothing like "oh WHY? why THAT color?" but like genuine non-rude curiosity... doesnt like outwardly betting or wondering what color youre going to pick outloud since she doesnt want you to think shes rude or something

RAGATHA:

has probably made multiple color variations of accessories she has made for you so you can wear anything without having the colors clash... thinks your hair is pretty, me thinks! doesnt matter what color it is, could literally be the unpleasant green-pink-brown color gradient meme and she would still find something nice to say about it... does sometimes wonder what color youre going to choose next... probably has a hush hush bet going on between her jax and zooble on what color youre going to choose next... huh what no jax didnt just get all moody because you walked in with aqua blue hair- no hes not passing something to ragatha, what are you talking about?

JAX:

as mentioned above he makes bets with some of the other circus members on what color youre going to rock next... if you ask him for any suggestions on what color you should change to next, dont expect any serious answers. even if he is being serious, jax doesnt strike me as the type to care much about colors and shades so hes probably going to drop the most basic colors. ..

on a bad day he might just not recognize you for a short moment... i originally said that as a joke but considering he sometimes forgets gangle is literally standing right next to him, i dont... think thats much of a joke... but after the initial confusion, i think he would really like whatever color you choose! likes playing with your hair, if you let him! he finds it soothing in its own way, and now he just has pretty colors to look at! cant explain why but i feel like he would be very good at identifying colors, so if you come in rocking some new color hes going to ask if its (insert specific shade of red that no one knows the name of. like. amaranth red.. or something..)

ZOOBLE:

honestly, they get it! i like to think that they swap out their pieces in order to fit whatever look or vibe they want for the day; aaaand i personally hc that in the real world they would dye their hair and get a bunch of piercings! though, they dont really remember much stuff from the real world, at least not clearly... but the point still stands, you guys probably get together to make a new look together! though, on days where they dont give any input on what hair color you choose next, theyre making bets with jax and ragatha... dont know why but i think zooble wins the most in the bets... shrugs

GANGLE:

oh she thinks its so pretty! has probably always loved things like that, since its a form of self expression! and she can kind of relate to that since shes an artist, albeit her medium is paper rather than her body... thinks... probably gives shy recommendations for colors if you ask her, is also bad at masking (lol) her surprise when you actually take her idea into consideration and follow through with it... makes her feel some type of way that someone cares enough about her ideas that they literally apply it to their appearance, you know?

ot9.... but if i had to pick one then.. id have to go with leaderz obviously? im always such a sucker for dual leadership and dongchan are no different! theyre supposed to be the Mature ones of the group, you know, taking care of the other members, but they always harass each other every chance they get. the way they constantly bicker reminds me of me and one of my own friends lmao. i will never forget dongil talking about how the first thing he asked after meeting changmin was if he always talks so much 😭 (and also changmin's story of dongil calling his name for a FULL HOUR just to prove a point). but even past all of the bullying and ribbing, they are so sweet to each other!! when dongil won the practice (?) for the isac race, changmin was the FIRST ONE to tackle him in a hug (followed seconds by the other members literally ramming him into the protective padding with how they ran at him dgsksvja). and theyre always going on little dates together bc if u ever see a selfie of one in public its practically guaranteed the other will be in the background somewhere (along with harryjune ofc ofc). like theyre just FRIENDS friends. besties, if you will. their teasing and jokes and genuine care for one another makes me so happy and they are the perfect leader duo 💕

A/N: So sorry for leaving yall hanging! Life is just crazy right now and this blog needs a lot of TLC tbh!! Also ehh I def dont think this was my best work but enjoy?

“Oof” Y/N lets out as she plops on to her boyfriend who was lying comfortable on the couch. Tom groaned at the impact with a cheeky smile on his face, his arms instantly wrapping around Y/N’s frame.

“Y’know..there are empty seats right there.” The soft brown-eyed boy gestured with the flick of his thick head as Y/N raises her eyes looking down at him, pretending to be slightly offended.

“Oh I see how it is then. It’s cool...Ill just cuddle with Tessa instead. I know she would welcome me with open arms instead of—” As she slowly starts getting off his chest, Tom is quick to pull her back in, securing her with his strong arms. “No baby, I was just kidding. I want you right here, and Im never letting you go.” he pleas.

The only thing Y/N could manage was letting out a fit of giggles into his chest, a sound that Tom adored and would do absolutely anything to hear every minute of every day. They stay like this for a while enjoying the feeling of each other as they both run their hands into each others hair, the feeling of their chests moving up and down, the subtle thumps of their heartbeats, and the little slips of adoration that came out of their mouths. It was peaceful. A moment that nobody could really take a way because it was theirs.

Y/N casually pulls up her phone, and scrolls through Twitter when she noticed a particular tweet on her timeline. Her eyebrows furrow, as she read the 160 character message.

She knew it wasnt a good idea to open up the thread. She knew very well that everything within the shallow string of tweets would be a complete waste of her time because it was made up by fans who just wanted to satisfy their fantasy of shipping Tom with his co-star. Who can blame them? They always had great chemistry, but it was part of the job and thats all it would ever be.

“You’re awfully quiet.” Tom murmurs, as he places soft kisses at the crown of her head. “Whats going on?” She was lucky her phone was facing away from Tom, quickly closing the app and pretending to be on one of her many tabs in Safari.

“Mmm..nothing.” Y/N lies softly, a tight-lipped smiled plastered on her face.

“Absolute bullocks. Youre not a very good liar.” He chuckles. “Tell me darling. Whats on your mind?”

Y/N rolls her eyes in response. She’s heard that comment one too many times in her life from everyone shes known. After not giving it much thought, she gives in, sighing heavily. “Dont judge me for what Im about to say.”

“Mmm...I think it might depend on wha— Ow” Tom reacts as he playfully rubs the side of his chest that Y/N hit. “Okay too soon for jokes. Go on.”

Again, Y/N sighs as she props herself up. “Its just ... well a lot of your fans keeps talking about wanting you to get with Aaliyah.” She looks down trying not to make eye contact with Tom, who she’d imagine was looking at her with annoyance.

Tom rolls his eyes at the ridiculousness. Not so much at Y/N but the fact that some of his fans just didnt want to accept the fact that he was happy with Y/N. If it had to come from his mouth to stop the stupid rumors and give his girlfriend peace, then hed gladly yell it from the rooftops for everyone to hear. “Thats it Im making a statement about it.”

Y/N’s eyes widen in fear, scrambling to prevent him from grabbing his phone on the table next him. “No no no no.” She repeatedly declines. “You’ll only make it worse.”

“Darling, Im not going to stand here and watch you get all insecure because of their delusional ship.”

“Yeah well Im not gonna be the reason your fans hate me because Im getting in the way of your friendship with Aaliyah Cole.” She fires back.

Tom was ready to open his mouth only to be cut off once again. “And you know better. That is how your fans will always see it.”

“Okay, are you done?” He calmly asked, cautiously observing her. Rarely did Y/N ever get worked up about anything, but when she had her tangents, Tom always made sure she got off everything she needed to say before he becomes her voice of reason.

“Yeah, I guess.” she says feeling defeated. “Look its whatever and Im tired, can we just let this go and forget this whole conversation even happened?”

Tom was unconvinced, but didnt want to push her further. So reluctantly, he gave in and wrapped his arms around Y/N as they both tried to lull themselves to sleep.

Y/N wasnt sure how she ended up in the Tube. It was strange how the lights flickered off the rusted tile floor. The train was no where to be seen, but off to the side of the railroads was pitch black, she could hardly see beyond. To her right she noticed herself standing in the corner of the room, and to her surprise Aaliyah was there. Her milk chocolate kissed skin, and fashionably long frizzy hair dropped down past her shoulders. Her figure long and poised, as she wore a rain jacket and sweats. An outfit only she could pull off and make it look like she was a model for Vogue. Aasliyah smiles brightly at Y/N.

“Hey Y/N.” She says cheerfully as a genuine friend would.

To Y/N’s surprise she greeted her back in the same tone. “Hey Aaliyah...uhh whats going on?” Y/N wasnt sure if she wanted the answer of how they both ended up in the Tube or if she truly wanted to know how her day went.

“Well Im getting ready to present at the Oscars.” She replies, a smile plastered as if she was so excited about it, almost too excited like she was keeping a secret.

“Really? Oh my god, that’s amazing! Im so proud of you Aaliyah! Who are you taking?”

Aaliyah pauses for a few moment looking back and forth, making sure no one else was around. “Okay can you keep a secret?” She whispered.

Y/N nods her head slowly, not having the slightest clue of what was going on. “Im taking Tom. I think he really likes me, and well...I like him too! Do you think maybe I should ask him when we go?” Aaliyah asked genuinely. It was almost like she had no recollection of Y/N and Tom being a couple. “I think we would look good together. Everyone is already making rumors and ships about us.”

Y/N backs aways lowly only to bump into a broad figure. As she turns around she sees Tom, emotionless and almost sad. “Y/N.” He speaks out. “I dont think this is going to work out. Im leaving you.”

Y/N’s heart quickens, and her breaths become shorter as she tries to find a way to run. Running and running into the darkness, until all she could hear was Tom’s faint voice calling out her name.

“Y/N! Y/N! Baby wake up please.” Tom cries as he gently shakes his girlfriend from her disturbed sleep.

Quickly Y/N opens her eyes and clutches on to Toms hoodie firmly. Back home, and in Toms arms. It was a dream was all she thought. A sigh of relief escaping from her mouth.

“Darling...” he speaks softly, worried about his girlfriend. “Are you okay?”

Y/N looks up at him and nods frantically. “Mmm..bad dream.”

“Yeah it seemed like it. You were so frightened...I was scared. What happened?” He’s looking at her, trying to read her saddened eyes, wanting to desperately understand what scared her so he could make it all go away for her.

Y/N looks down at her fiddling hands, as she sits on the couch. “I uhh...” she lets out a chuckle, thinking of the ridiculousness of it all. “I uhh...dreamed about Aaliyah going to the oscars and saying how she loved you and how you two are perfect for each other. When I turned around I saw you but you werent happy and said you were leaving me.”

Tom doesnt say a word, all he could think about was how sorry he felt to put Y/N in this position. Though both of them knew, It wasnt Toms fault, or anyone’s for that matter. Feelings are feelings and that was okay. No human being was ever born perfect and without insecurities.

Y/N always tried to be a good sport with situations like this knowing every shippers theory and evidence were hardly ever true, but at some point there was only so much she could take before it all came out like an oil spill. Maybe it was a sign that she wasnt good enough to be with Tom if half of his fanbase thought this way as well.

Tom cradled her into his arms again, holding her tightly and kissing the top of her head. “Darling, I know youre still doubting yourself about all of this, but please believe me when I tell you that I love you so so much and no matter what happens...Im always yours.” He whispers gently in her ear. “It was only a dream and these ridiculous rumors and theories are just that. No one woman in the world could ever make me feel the way I feel for you.”

Y/N blinks softly, as she stares into space. Afraid and in a weird way ashamed, its funny how something so small and so minimal could affect her self-esteem so greatly. Tom gently brings her head up, so her eyes can meet his. He rolls his thumb on the bottom of her soft lips. “Hey, I love you.” Tom smiles.

Time stopped for the both of them the moment Y/N looked into his eyes, she felt safe. All the bad words and thoughts slowly disappear. Tom was right, none of the things that anyone said about their relationship mattered. She knew Tom loved her, and how much she truly loved him. Isnt that enough? Of course not. It was more than enough. A smile slowly forming on Y/N’s face. “Theres that smile I love so much.” He comments.

“Im sorry, for being such a —”

“No. Its okay. You have a right to feel the way you did.” He picks up her hand and leaves a gentle kiss.

“I love you so much Tom.” She says pressing her lips to his. “I dont deserve you.”

“Darling, its me that doesnt deserve you. Im always yours.” Tom proclaims as he kisses her back.

Why Jerome Cheating Wasn't Out of Character and How It Actually Developed Him Further as a Person: an unproofread rant/essay by a bitch with too much time on her hands

okay first I just wanna talk about the circumstances round him cheating. Like he definitely could’ve made better choices and in no way am I saying he’s not to blame but he and Mara were very much broken up when he first started dating willow. Jerome was being a dick in the business competition, but it wasn’t exactly a break up forever kinda mistake. He apologised multiple times in varying degrees of big gestures, to which mara did not respond to or make any move to forgive him. Sure, a lot of this was to do with the sisterhood but it’s not like he knew that.

I think he only went for willow because not only did she help him with his schemes without question, she was also willing to take the punishment all in good fun. In no way were they right for each other but she messed around with him in the costume closet and had fun with her the way he never did too often with mara without being interrupted by mick. Mara then, a while after ignoring his various attempts came up to him and told him she’d forgiven him and they were now back together. He definitely should’ve just told her there and then that he had kissed willow, but he was already starting to question their relationship and honestly I still think it would’ve crushed her.

I think that Jerome only ever wanted to be with mara because he put her on a pedestal as some perfect unattainable girl. He pined over her for years before she showed interest. She was sweet to him and treated him as a human with feelings when the others often wouldn’t but I don’t think they were ever right for each other. They were cute in season 2 but although she helped him with his dad she constantly overstepped with him and poppy and always held a sense of righteousness over him like on donkey day. I think especially once they were in a relationship she expected him to be a different person for her in ways that would change who he was. He looks visibly uncomfortable with the nicknames and is constantly shown to be at her beck and call in a way that is less playful in comparison to season 3 Alfie and amber.

The whole trying to then get away with having two girlfriends whilst he makes up his mind on who he wants to date therefore makes perfect sense for his character as in truth he doesn’t actually wanna date either of them. Willow is fun but not serious and mara is serious but not fun. willow and him was only really ever a fling, as shown by how quickly she moves on. And Jerome is literally an asshole it would be unrealistic at this point in his development for him to handle the situation maturely and lay his feeling out to them because he barely knew what he was feeling and he is self identified sneaky. Are we forgetting that he used to manipulate Alfie for money, literally broke up mick and mara and consistently just makes the worst choices readily available to him. Yes he did gaslight willow and lied to mara but it’s nothing he hasn’t done before and was presently above doing again.

Joy being the one to find out first and see the comparison table is important to her relationship because there is all the worst parts about his character laid out on a platter for her. I think often mara completely avoided seeing how cruel and insensitive he can be at times and thought the others exaggerated it which is why she took the cheating so hard because she didn’t see it coming. But joy knows he’s flawed right from the start of their relationship, including his taunting of her near the beginning of the season. They also have a lot more shared experiences as shown during the ceremony scenes at the gatehouse. They’re both actively mad at each other but yet still come together against Alfie and Patricia and then the teachers. Mara never knew about anything Jerome went through in the first two seasons but joy did.

A really key part of his character development is when mara makes the cruel comment about his dad. I think if anything it shows how wrong they were for each other. Joy’s speech about being the bigger person is a turning point for him. Like mara, she wants him to be better but she says it from the perspective of someone who acknowledges that they too have done shitty things in the past. I think the ‘if you can bare it’ is important too, because she’s acknowledging to him that being a good person isn’t easy especially for people with upbringings and pasts like theirs. I think for the first time he actually feels understood. The ‘my lady’ scene confirms this.

Joy never requires him to be too mushy and vulnerable to her publicly. She’s playful and jokes around and anything sweet he says to her he says because he means it, not because it’s something he thinks she wants to hear. Their letdown washing date it so key to his growth like he’s able to joke around with her in a space where he can also freely talk about his dad and his insecurities about being allowed to scheme and be himself without having to be cold hearted because of it. He tells her she’s a good listener because he’s being heard without anyone looking out for poppy or his dad or the greater good over his own feelings.

One of the biggest signs he’s changed is when he knows that the play is a plot to embarrass him and takes it on the chin, admits he made a mistake and just hopes that it helps mara move on. And he just seems so much more into joy than he ever was anyone else, he even says it!! Unlike mara he isnt following her around like a puppy and doing as he’s told he gets distracted by her as she walks in the room and calls her names and is just!! I think the show is so good at writing couples that don’t have to be mushy and all over each other to show they care and mara is right they are kinda perfect for each other. They both have made mistakes in the past but they’ve grown up and there isn’t an unequal balance of a bad guy and a better girl who wants to fix him. He’s respectful of mara and backs away from joy around her without taunting and fighting back like season 1 or 2 Jerome definitely would’ve. He changed for the better organically on screen and I think his arc was done really well. You can tell by the way he he cries when he overhears about the revenge plot how much he really cared and he broke up with her to protect his own feeling but as soon as he realises that her feelings were genuine he tries to get her back. Not in flashy empty feeling gestures like before but by expressing how he feels.

Im not saying he didn’t develop a lot over the course of season one and two and that mara didn’t play a big part in that development but I think to truly be better he had to take a step back from pretending to be perfect to get the girl of his dreams and actually take the time to work on himself.

And in terms of the cheating/revenge plot line itself it had to be something big and time consuming this season that took up all the characters not involved in the mystery’s time whilst also giving them their own arcs and stories within it. sibuna were literally soulless for a portion of the season which could only work if they were distanced from their close friends outside of it like Jerome and joy because they were far too wrapped up in their own shit to notice. And they’re teenagers! Of course trying to date two girls at once and orchestrating the plot of John tucker must die is a dumb bad idea!! But so is literally every other thing they do in the show because they’re naive and half of them were left there by their parents to rot and have been kidnapped in the past of course they’re not rational!! I actually found the whole sideplot an entertaining break from the darker themes of the third season and throughout the whole season you can feel the characters are 17/18 instead of 15/16 like in the first season, there’s gonna be more romantic motivation to their actions.

In conclusion/ TLDR: just because a character makes mistakes doesn’t mean they lost their development or they were out of character. Interesting characters aren’t good people all of the time and thats what makes it entertaining.

HEARTBREAKING - dash’s full name is Maximillian Dashiel Baxter II. his dad calls him Junior. max isnt *abusive* per se he just lives in a world where dash doesnt exist or matter as anything other than a trophy. dash thinks that being good at sports and sucking up to authority figures (mr lancer) will eventually win his dad’s attention. he acts up and gets detention because his dad has to actually sign pieces of paper when he does that which is the closest he gets to a conversation. dash’s ‘love language’ as a result of this trauma is just paying attention to anyone in literally any way (although of course he doesn’t realize that and he thinks he’s just being mean) re: bullying, picking fights, etc. he genuinely doesn’t understand that someone would want to be left alone at any point which hinders his social development because in his mind beating someone up is always better than ignoring them. he’s jealous of fenton because his parents are ALWAYS there and ALWAYS helping him and fenton has the audacity to be embarrassed about it. he panics over his future as a minimum wage worker because then he won’t be noticeable enough to have anyone’s attention. the worst part is he’s spending his entire high school career vying for his dad to even look at him but he doesn’t realize there’s literally no hope

FUCK CANON - dash actually only recently moved to amity park and he has literally no history with anyone else whatsoever. he was a big city kid who was actually a small fish in a HUGE pond so when he gets to casper high suddenly hes the big fish and he loses it. he specifically is from queens bc the accent is so. nasally.

Congratulations. You’ve fought well. FB. 

Juliet frowned at the latest telegram. It had been almost a week since Hitler died, and reports on just what had caused his death were mixed, depending on the source. The only certainty was that he was dead. But that had not led to a total German surrender. So what exactly was FB congratulating? Because victory wasn’t certain. Not yet, anyway. It was close, but not quite within the Allied grasp. What did FB know that the Allies did not?

It did tell Juliet one thing - FB was not a neighbor or anyone she knew. Her most unlikely theory was turning out to be the most probable after all. The phrase “You’ve fought well” was a dead giveaway - FB was someone on the other side making contact with her. It was imperative now that Juliet did not set off any alarm bells to the unit she was with. She would be asking no further questions of Nix, and she would have to lie to Melanie a lot more as well. And as for Ron...well, he was keeping his distance anyway. They hadn’t even spoken since that night that Hitler’s death was announced. 

The billet door opened, making Juliet start, but it was only Melanie. She greeted Juliet warmly as she began settling in. 

“Letter from your mother?” she asked, nodding toward the telegram. 

“Oh, yeah,” Juliet lied. 

“How is Nancy?” Melanie wondered. “Well, I hope.” 

Juliet once again had to marvel at Melanie’s ability to care about others. Juliet had only talked about her mother a few times and yet, Melanie remembered her name and that she had been ill. And she was not asking to be polite, she genuinely wanted to know. 

“Yeah, she’s good,” Juliet told her. “She ought to be with everything Ron’s been sending her.” 

Melanie smiled, amused. “It is awfully kind of him. Perhaps he really is a thoughtful gentleman.” 

“You have no idea, Mel,” Juliet said with a shake of her head. But Juliet could hardly talk about how wonderful Ron was to her while they were together without choking up. 

“Well, Dick’s asked me to join him for dinner,” Melanie said. “Would you like to come? I’m sure he wouldn’t mind.” 

Juliet bit back a chuckle. “No, thanks, I’ll let you two have your date.” 

Melanie blushed as she always did when Juliet joked like that. She wished that she could ask what Melanie thought of the letters. But she didn’t want to put Melanie in a position where she would have to lie either, though she did not doubt that Melanie could be discreet. It just wasn’t fair to ask it of her. On the other hand, Melanie was an empathetic person, and it would have been nice to confide in her. Resigning herself to the solitude of her secret, Juliet tucked the telegram away. 

When VE-Day came, she understood its meaning. Even more powerfully, Ron had clapped eyes on her as soon as the words left Dick Winters’ mouth there on the porch of the Eagle’s Nest, and the look he had behind his irises had Juliet reeling for the rest of the day. It was a look of utmost understanding. He knew better than most what victory in Europe meant for her. It meant her home was safe. And up until she heard from FB, it would have meant her brother was safe, but of course Ron still wasn’t aware of all that. The long years of suffering were truly over now, and that look he gave her...like he wanted to yank her toward him. He cut his gaze when Nix hugged her instead. 

She dwelled on that look again as she nursed a bottle of wine on the patio of the hotel overlooking Zell am Zee, Austria. The regiment moved out almost as soon as victory was announced. Juliet never thought she’d have been sad to leave Germany, but Austria proved equally - if not more - beautiful. 

It turned out she wasn’t the only one with dashed hopes on VE-Day. Melanie told her that when Dick told her the news, he nearly kissed her - so she thought - only to pull away at the last second. Juliet was fully prepared to use her pillow to play whack-a-Winters, but Melanie put a stop to it. Melanie put it behind her and happily returned to work. 

Juliet on the other hand, was a little lost. With the war over in Europe, she technically had no reason to remain with the 506th. As she took another swig of wine, she realized she’d probably be getting a letter from Lottie any day now calling her back to London. She could not reveal FB to her editor, though, not by letter, which might fall into the wrong hands. And Lottie was conservative, she might try and dissuade Juliet from pursuing that sort of story. She had to stay with the Airborne, at least until she could track down FB. 

“Hey.” 

She turned her head to the sound of Nix’s voice, and found him climbing the stairs to join her on the patio. She’d gotten a rare moment alone, with Melanie at work and most of the men still reveling in their celebrations. 

“Hey, Lew,” she returned. “Fancy a drink?” 

“Like I’d say no,” he joked. “But before we get to all that, you’ve got a telegram.” 

He retrieved it from his pocket and handed it to her. Surprised, she reached for it, giving it a quick once over to see who it was from, but carefully so that she didn’t seem too eager. There was no return address that she could see, so it was likely FB again. But she couldn’t let on, so she set it aside. 

“You’re not gonna read it?” he asked as he took a seat beside her and reached for the bottle, helping himself. 

She shook her head. “Not yet. It’s probably Lottie telling me to come home.” 

“Might not be so bad,” he said. “Going home. London’s probably crazy right now.” 

“You lot would certainly be getting laid,” she teased. 

“Exactly,” he returned. He took another drink. “Not to say it couldn’t happen here.” 

She met his gaze, searching it for the suggestion behind his words, and finding a tenderness there that made her stomach twist. 

“Are you drunk already?” she said through a nervous laugh. 

“Yeah, a little,” he admitted. “But not so drunk I don’t know what I’m talking about.” He paused for a beat. “Seriously, how long’s it been for you?” 

She rolled her eyes. “Are you really asking me how long it’s been since I’ve -” 

“I said ‘seriously’ didn’t I?”

“Nix.” 

“Jules.” 

“Stop it.” 

“Just tell me.” 

She sighed. “I dunno, six months or so?” She looked at him. “You?”

“Longer,” he said. “Much longer.” 

She raised an eyebrow, tired of dancing around the point. “What is it you want from me? A pity fuck?” 

“A regular fuck would do just fine,” he replied through a chuckle. 

“You’re an idiot,” she returned, rolling her eyes again. “It’s not like that between us.” 

“Isn’t it?” 

She met his gaze once more. He was no longer joking, it seemed, and Juliet racked her brain for anything she might have done to give him the wrong impression. Sure, they joked a lot, and perhaps it bordered on flirtation because they certainly didn’t shy away from the subject of sex, but did he really see that as an invitation? Before she could answer, he leaned in. Juliet shielded her face with her hand, putting her fingers to his mouth and gently pushing him back. He didn’t protest, he just stopped and looked at her. 

“I’m sorry,” she said. “It’s just...my heart is somewhere else.” 

Nix sighed and ran a hand through his hair. 

“You really think he’s coming back?” he asked. 

“I don’t know yet,” she answered, knowing exactly who he meant. 

Even she was not entirely sure where this loyalty was coming from. Truth be told, she did find Nix attractive and his offer was tempting, but it felt like a betrayal of Ron. Logically, she understood she owed him no such fidelity, but she couldn’t bring herself to act on it. All she knew was that if she went to bed with Nix - or anyone else - then nothing could ever happen between her and Ron again. And for the first time, she was admitting to herself that that was exactly what she hoped for. 

Unbeknownst to either of them, the man in question had witnessed the interaction. He’d been looking for Nixon anyway for a briefing they were requested to attend, and he saw her put Nix off and heard what she said. His heart softened for her again, like it once had back in Aldbourne. Without his asking, she was earning back his trust, it seemed, and that endearing charm about her affected him once more. When Nix got up and left, he swept past Ron without noticing him. Ron looked back at Juliet, watching her sigh and pick up a letter. 

He considered going to her and telling her that she was free to pursue whoever she wanted. But found himself hesitating. He didn’t want to tell her that, though he knew he should. He wanted her faithfulness in spite of himself. So, he too left her alone, his respect for her growing. His respect for Nixon, however, quickly tanked. Not only was the man married (divorce pending), but he was going after a fellow officer’s ex-girlfriend, which he was certain broke some sort of rule. Even so, Ron followed the man back toward Sink’s office. 

Juliet remained in her seat. After a quick glance around to ensure she was alone, she tore open the telegram. This one was unlike any of the others before it. It contained directions to an address and an invitation to appear there the following day. Heart racing, she folded it back up. The moment was at last upon her. She was going to meet FB and find out who he was once and for all.

A hike through the woods was not what Juliet had necessarily anticipated for her days in Austria, especially with the war being over. But she was going to put an end to all the mystery of FB at last. She felt Billy’s ring heavy in her pocket, though it was certainly not the cause of all her sweating. That was the sun and the exercise. And perhaps a little bit of nerves.

She finally reached a grassy hillside, atop which sat a lonely stone cabin. A small enclosure next to it contained a few chickens, clucking and running amuck. It was the only sound besides Juliet’s own breath and her pounding heart. Her stomach churned with anxiety as she approached. Everything had led up to this moment. Would she finally discover the fate of her brother? What could this man tell her? Who was he? All this and more swirled inside her head as she braced herself for one last surge. 

As she climbed the hill, the wooden door of the cabin squeaked open. A man - slender but strong - with silvery blonde hair combed neatly out of his angular face, emerged. Smoke from the cigarette in his hand floated into the air. He finally turned his head and caught sight of her. His shocking, icy blue eyes found hers, and for a moment, they simply stared at each other. Fresh, cool sweat dripped down her neck as she faced him. He seemed...otherworldly. As if his youthful face betrayed his immortality or something. He set her completely on edge despite the stunning backdrop of his dwelling. 

“Juliet Fletcher?” he called, his accent clearly German with the hesitation in how he pronounced the J of her name. 

She was still several yards away, deathly afraid of getting any closer. She could run now and forget the whole thing. Put his eerie presence behind her and go home to London. But he had answers. Those answers were more powerful than her fear. 

“FB?” she returned. 

He nodded. She approached. He was older than she initially thought, for she could see the lines on his face now as she climbed the stairs of his front porch. But he couldn’t be older than fifty or so. The blonde was in fact streaked with light gray around his temples. His movements were stiff and controlled, like a soldier’s. 

“I’m glad you came,” he said. “My name is Fritz Bohm.” 

He held out his hand. She looked at it for a long moment, wondering if she should shake it. But the faces of the men at Landsberg swam before her eyes. She put her hands resolutely in her pockets and met his gaze. 

“Nice to meet you,” she said, positive he didn’t believe her. 

“I see you still don’t trust me,” he returned. “Even after all the credibility I established.” 

“Credibility and trustworthiness are two different things,” she replied. “You may have reliable information, but lack honor.” 

He sized her up. “I’ve never met a reporter who so quickly insults her sources.” 

“First of all, I haven’t decided you’re a source yet,” she said, gaining courage. “Second, I was speaking in general terms, but if the shoe fits, lace it up, Fritz.” 

He smiled, but it didn’t reach his eyes, which remained so cold she almost shivered. “I’m offering you a story.” 

“I’m more interested in how you got your hands on my brother’s wedding ring,” she replied. That had to take precedent, no matter how intrigued she was by the story. 

“That is part of the story,” he told her. “You see, I was a Kommandant for a POW camp in Bavaria.”

That made her heart skip a beat. “W...what does that have to do with -”

“The prisoners in my camp were mainly resistance fighters in countries we occupied,” he said. “They came from all over. Poland, Lithuania, France, Holland. Even some as far as the English Channel Islands.” 

Her blood went cold as her worst fear was realized. “Billy was a prisoner of war?”

She had always thought it a possibility, but hearing it confirmed was somehow still completely devastating. What had he endured? Was he still alive? Was she about to find out? 

“I will tell you what has become of him all in good time, Fraulein Fletcher,” he said. “I did meet your brother. It’s how I got your name. And as for the ring, the prisoners had to surrender all valuables upon their arrival.” 

Her eyes stung with tears. “Just tell me -” 

“I said all in good time,” he cut across her. “Aren’t you concerned at all about what happened to your other countrymen?”

She blinked back the mist in her eyes and focused on his face again. “Is that the story you’re offering me? An inside look at a POW camp?” 

“Yes,” he said with a nod. “Straight from the Kommandant. I hope by now you understand I will hold nothing back. You will be spared no detail of their suffering at my own hands and the hands of my subordinates.” 

“You realize I could just turn you in, don’t you?” she challenged. She hated feeling like even though he was the one surrendering information, he had absolute control over her. She needed to take charge of this interview somehow and remind him of his own vulnerability. 

“And compromise your journalistic integrity?” he returned. “Or is it customary where you come from to reveal sources?” 

She cleared her throat to disguise her own outrage at his careful grasp of the situation. He had plotted out the whole thing like a puppet master, and she was merely one marionette among dozens of strings. She had played right into his hand. She almost regretted coming. And if he had not promised her the news of Billy, she might have left there. But the answers were also stronger than her pride. 

“So, you’re offering me the story in exchange for my protection?” she surmised. 

It was hard to believe that not even twelve hours ago, her biggest concern was Nixon’s hurt feelings, and now she was in a meeting with a bona fide Nazi. 

“Precisely,” he said. “And you will know what has happened to your brother.”

Something about it seemed foolish. Like it was too convenient. There was a reason he was refraining from the information about Billy, which made her feel twisted up inside. Did she really dare to make an agreement with this man who was manipulating her in order to gain his own freedom? Would Lottie even want this story? Did any of that matter when Billy’s fate was what she had to gain? 

“Alright,” she agreed, pulling a notebook and pencil from her pocket. “Start from the beginning.” 

“The camp was opened in 1939,” he said. “Our first prisoners were journalists.” He shot her a knowing look. “Those who spoke openly against the Fuhrer. In 1940, we began getting resistance members. The soldiers in occupied lands would torture names out of low level people they arrested, and then those they revealed - leaders, organizers, et cetera - they came to me.” 

She wanted to swallow but her throat was dry. The proud, sinister way he said “me” made her skin crawl. 

“And what did you do with them?” she asked. 

“My job was simple,” he said. “I was ordered to make them look forward to Hell.” 

She froze mid-scribble as another chill ran down her spine. She wondered for a split second if she was in over her head. But she had to press on. She jotted down the quote, but did not imagine what it might look like printed in the London Pursuit. Instead, all she could conjure up was Billy’s face.

“Juliet?” Ron called through the door of her billet as he knocked thrice upon it. 

He had given it some thought and decided he wanted to tell her that he appreciated her refusal of Nix. Not only did it validate his jealousy - which he was not going to admit - but it made him feel respected. Like their relationship really meant something to her, and he appreciated that. He wasn’t sure why he felt compelled to tell her. Perhaps it was just an excuse to talk to her and see what she might say. It was tempting to test her. To push into her heart again and see what he found. 

His own heart, he had not bothered to explore yet. He wanted to get more from Juliet before he began any consideration of forgiveness. But, just having her around - cracking jokes during poker games, scribbling notes into her books, and looking absolutely stunning all the time - really threw a wrench into his plans to hate her for the rest of his life. He missed her. And he had finally admitted that to himself. 

To his annoyance, no one answered the door. With a frown, he knocked again. 

“Juliet?” 

He waited, but nothing happened. Taking matters into his own hands, he tried the knob, and found it unlocked. So he entered. The billet was in perfect order on Melanie’s side. Her clothes were neatly folded and carefully stacked. Juliet’s side on the other hand was lacking even a semblance of organization. Her clothes appeared to be crawling out of her bag the way she had haphazardly stuffed them in there. And her desk was splattered with letters. Amused, Ron went to glance them over, wondering what she might be telling her mother about him. 

But the letters were not from Nancy. These were telegrams with short, cryptic sentences, and on all of them, Juliet had handwritten a date and a note. The first one said “This is me establishing my credibility. FB.” Beside it, she’d written “Billy’s ring.” The others were similarly signed. The ones that stuck out were the ones she received recently where she noted “Hitler’s death” from the day before the announcement came, followed a week later by an early congratulations for VE-Day. 

His mind was spinning with what he saw. Juliet had come into contact with a German source - a high up one given the information he had hinted at for her. And all this time, she had been keeping it a secret. He wondered if Melanie knew, though he doubted Juliet would put the innocent nurse in any position to be in trouble. More importantly, he wondered where Juliet was now. If she was meeting with the enemy, what did that mean for her safety? And what was expected of him? Did he reveal his findings to his superiors or did he keep her secret? Where did they go from here?

IM BORED. my top three farscape eps from each season::::::: looking at these i think season two has the best EPISODE concepts (it was hard choosing faves from that season bc i love so many) but season 4 is my favorite for just,,,,,,, the hecking Yearning + domestication in each episode but i dont particularly favor the episodes themselves 

Season 1:

through the looking glass - i always saw this ep as being the first completely filler ep that really felt like farscape with the crew all working together and having a VERY CUTE little laugh about it at the end. i love the vagueness of it, it’s not annoying or cliche??? and i’m particularly fond of the yellow moya scenes like rygel’s like “shall i disrobe so it will be memorable” is one of my fave lines from him.

a human reaction - mY TRASH. MYYYY TRASH. just one of those farscape eps that are so Abstract in concept, they are just Default Faves for me like Always haha. so many good little j/a crumbs, the kiss in this ep is one of my BIG FAVES, i love everything about that scene and the ones leading up to it. LOVE THE RAIN SCENE. it’s probably the very first time john is like ‘maybe Earth bad’ and,,, ‘maybe space girl Good’ and i love that thruline of the show. this ep stands soooooo far apart from the majority of season 1 for me.

nerve: the hidden memory - “THE RADIANT AERYN SUN.” stark isn’t unbearable in his debut episodes woah! i like him as a sad boy who isnt a plot device! love gilina, love her death (rip), love seeing how far john and aeryn have come since they’d last seen her, love aeryn and crais’s interaction in this episode like YES GIRL SLAY, love whenever aeryn has to juggle with feeling WEAK and having to put her big girl pants on to save her himbo, love any interaction between d’argo and aeryn LOVE THAT.

Season 2:

crackers don't matter - the DIALOGUE in this episode is Insane and i LOVE IT i think there are so many line deliveries in this ep that are so memorable and Iconic they all just live in my mind rent FREE. i wish the commentary for this episode wasn’t about the more practical aspects of it because UUUHUUH i genuinely would love to just Absorb the mindset behind it. GOD TIER FILLER. 

out of their minds - i am such a whore for body swap tropes it’s humiliating. another ep with a lot of iconic line deliveries! i love cb playing as john! love that for her! bb as rygel too is amazing i love all their stupid accent switching SO MUCH. love the skeksis love that they joke about them looking like skeksis because it’s jim henson and they can DO THAT. 

won't get fooled again - any time i think about this ep im like man how Opened Third Eye was it to have john just immediately be like “haha ok this is fake lmao” like it’s so SUBVERSIVE in what it does pretty much right off the bat in introducing the moya crew as “normal” humans. eps like these are just ALWAYS my faves in tv series because of how crazy they can get and this one does and i love it so much for that.

Season 3: 

scratch n' sniff - any time i get the moya crew on a pleasure planet or at a rave im like HELLO. :) I LOVE RAXIL she’s such a funky little freak. describing this ep is so weird its like Oh Yeah The Boob Juice Sucking One. JUST JOHN AND D’ARGO BEING BACHELORS, WHAT BLISS. i wish i got more john + d’argo shenanigans in this show ‘cause they are like such a fave together dynamically mwah mwah mwah. <3 

into the lion's den: wolf in sheep's clothing - its a little crazy how much i Hate the first half of this two-parter which is super PANDERY AND BAD and then the last half is like so Insane and such a good close for the season. EVERYONE’S SO MISERABLE. the scorp shots with the imploding ship and the water UGHGUGHUGH <33333 love aeryn in this love her trying to save the Peacekeepers, love JOHN, love the little scientist nerd who works under Scorp i forget his name WHOOPS he has a nice design. THE CRAIS + TALYN DEATH IS SO GOOD;;;; LOVE THAT FOR THEM;;;;; <3333

 dog with two bones - i think the fact that literally no other tv show has pulled THIS MESS off really speaks to the uniqueness of farscape and its ABILITY TO TELL ROMANCE??? theres so much in this that is just like WOWOWOWOW THIS EP IS SO GOOD. the part where they kill the rogue leviathan and rygel is celebrating on the comms and it transitions to aeryn Going Insane in her prowler over everything that’s happening. FIRE. the dog with two bones analogy UGHGUGHGUGH <333333 I LOVE THE AERYN > EARTH THRULINE WITH JOHN SO MUCH ITS JUST AT ITS PEAK HERE WHICH MAKES IT GREAT BY DEFAULT. the coin scene is SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD THE ENDING SCENE OF THIS EPISODE IS SOOOO GOOOOOD.

Season 4: 

john quixote - MY FAVE EP OF THE SERIES LOL. love the COSTUMING love the POP CULTURE REFERENCES love that its SEASON 4 love that we GET A ZHAAN CRAIS JOOL AND STARK CAMEO. another conceptually abstract episode so of course i love it lol. love the scene in the end with john and zhaan where he’s kinda a sad boy!!!!! actually funny story about this ep the first time i watched this i was in elementary school still, i grew up on this show this is my Nostalgia Baby series, and did not know what the word “porn” was so like for a very concerning amount of time i always assumed “porn” was an Alien Word and not a real word. BECAUSE LIKE, in context you see chiana holding up a Gooey Boy and going “and this? porn!” and that was all i had to go by the end.

crichton kicks - I LOOOOVE SAD JOHN. I LOVE HIM. I love the character beats we get out of a john that CHOSE THE GIRL over his home and instead of GETTING HER he is punished for it, losing his chance at BOTH OUTCOMES like mentioned in “dog with two bones” despite him having chosen One of the options and not both. love the introduction to 1812 whenever john gets a named thing i am like Yes. :~) my boy, my little man. he’s a little crazy and a little sad.

terra firma - the YEARNING in this ep man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this ep waters my CROPS one of my Biggest Fave scenes is when Aeryn and Jack are in her prowler talking about john and he’s like Do You Wish You Were Human and she doesnt answer and im like LORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more of that John Not Vibing With Earth Anymore trope which I LOVE. literally all fics surrounding this episode i will SNORT LIKE CRACK.

stan uris and richie tozier are canonically best friends in IT and the erasure of their friendship in favor of appealing to reddie fans is fucking gross and weird, especially bc stan is then chalked up to just some mean jewish kid who likes birds and is annoyed by richie 25/8 instead of having an actual fucking personality in every reddie fic just bc fans want so badly to make reddie best friends to lovers and its just?? yall can make reddie best friends to lovers WITHOUT erasing stan's canonical personality. yall can make them best friends to lovers while still acknowledging that stan and richie are canonically best friends and that stan canonically was an incredibly important person to richie.

How did they first meet?

here is my personal hc. tim told cass about a girl. he didn’t tell her anything about the girl, just that she was woefully unprepared to be a crimefighter... but also she was kinda cute, in a totally naive way (90s tim was kind of an asshole, never forget). cass couldn’t quite understand what he was saying while he showed her the batfile on her---the picture of the spoiler, etc. but she got his general tone and body language. cass then sought steph out. for nights. nights looking for the spoiler. when she found her---she tackled her, immediately engaged her in a fight. she went so, so easy on her. she just wanted to see what a cute girl was. and steph... was definitely a cute girl. at the time, cass couldn’t talk, couldn’t communicate with her. but she left her a gift. a nice knife that she had throw at her head---deliberately missing it, that was... especially ornate, and seemed shiny and valuable, and most of all purple to match her costume. pretty purple girls like pretty purple things, right?

What was their first impression of each other?

steph probably did not think well of cass, at first. after that first outing---the batfamily got involved. cass was to help steph with her fighting. steph was to help cass with her speech. without the mask on---steph could see how much cass enjoyed her company. it was hard not to realize she had a sense of humor about everything. the laughter she had exhibited on a still-baby-at-the-time spoiler screaming her head off about what she thought was some kind of demon-ninja batgirl was... genuine, and not malicious in the slightest. she seemed to want to be friends, and every time steph frowned at her, or was a sore loser, cass simply smiled and laughed harder, finding everything steph did perfectly amusing. as they got to know each other---cass got better at talking, and steph got better at fighting, and they kind of, met somewhere on the outer edges of the middle for a while. there was always something standing between them--though. a resentment, not between them, but a misunderstanding. that cass belonged to bruce and the bat. and steph belonged to tim.

Did any of their friends or family want them to get together?

i feel like conner kent at the very least shipped it. alfred really thought there was a spark between them, and during their brief frenemy stage---alfred made sure steph knew cass genuinely cared for her. bruce did NOT want them to get together at all, though. neither did tim, for obvious reasons.

Who felt romantic feelings first?

cass. it was love the first time steph managed to punch herin the face. did she win? no. but she GOT her. and through that tenacity, cass realized that her friend was so much more than a silly, pretty girl. she was a fighter. she was a champion. and more than anything, she was brave, and determined, and they had practiced a thousand times for just this moment. and afterwards, steph was just so proud of her overall failure instead of being herr typical loser.... cass couldnt help but know steph was always going to be the love of her life.

they both did! didn’t want to ruin the friendship!

I also accept “demonization” for like--comedic purposes. omg i feel like poe dameron dating a borrower would be the sweetest thing ever. Could i get a headcanon please?

omgggg!!! okay okay:

everyone thinks it’s a little weird for poe to be in love with someone the size of his finger but he genuinely doesn’t see a problem

in fact he thinks he’s a real hot shot for getting the borrower to fall in love with him

he spoils them like CRAZY and has a laundry list of pet names for them

some names are affectionate like “little one” or “sweetheart” but others are like “short stuff” and “tiny” and dumb names he thinks are really funny

he tries so hard to understand their plight and to demonstrate that he knows so well what they go through, he collects objects he thinks they’ll find useful

none of them are useful

he would die protecting his tiny. sometimes he cares more about them than the rebellion and finn/rey need to set him straight

he loves them unconditionally in such a way that half the time they forget they’re small

they’re so in sync with each other that poe will put his hand down for them without realizing or his tiny will scale up to his shoulder/pocket when they’re on the move and poe just subconsciously waits to feel their weight before going

sooner or later everyone understands that poe dating the borrower isnt some kind of prank or weird joke, it’s real and everyone respects his choice because of just how much love he gives them

he knows better than to try and prevent the tiny from joining him in battles but it doesnt stop him from being uber protective

the tiny sleeps on his chest at night and poe keeps them warm by keeping his hand over them. he only sleeps on his back now and he loves it

he enjoys giving exaggerated kisses and embarrassing the borrower in front of everybody, but they secretly love it

MMMMM FUNFUNFUN!!! IM REALLY BAD AT REMEMBERING ALMOST ALL OF THE CHARACTERS NAMES SO I JUST GIVE THEM NAMES BASED OFF OF THEIR CHARACTERISTICS HOPE THATS OKAY <33

Main character fella and i would probably see me sitting next to old guy after the murder spree before tug-of-war. he would be like "AYO BACK THE F-CK UP FROM HIM" and i would either be a bit sarcastic and say "damn, calm down bossman. you werent the one here keeping him safe so calm yourself you dunderhead." or id be as respectful as i could allow myself to be and just nod and walk away. eventually we would grow on each other and ally- id know him from the sugar honeycombs game and would feel like i kinda owe him for getting through sugar honeycombs and id also just think he seems like a smart ally to have because hes good at strategizing.

MY MAN ALIIII!!!! ahhh, as i said before i would meet him after killing one of tattoo fellas goons cause he was boutta kill him. ali being ali, he would feel indebted to me because i helped him out and i would try to return as much of the favors he does for me as possible! sometimes we would try to out-do the other with our kind deeds and sometimes it would get competitive like super fast.

glasses guy and i met because of having ali as a mutual close pal. glasses isnt exactly fond of me because he knows that ive got a good skillset and he was moreso distrusting or hesitant. soon enough though he came around! not as much as the other homies but to the point to where were at least well-aqquainted. the first time i got him to crack a smile after chatting with him and telling jokes mid conversation was a very nice victory for me, i would tease him and bring it up for a while.

the curly haired chick would probably HATE my guts. one of the habits that i have that has turned into things i jusy instinctually do is i mock a person when i wanna poke fun or make fun of them. and you best believe id be doing that a HELL of a lot to curly haired chick. she doesnt like my witty comments and most likely makes a racist comment about me like what she did to ali. to which i would promptly beat her a$$ but of course. though, i do hold a respect for her and how dedicated and determined she is. when she takes tattoo fella down with her during the glass bridge game i would genuinely be sad about her dying but my respect would grow. when she says tattoo guy has a small dick you would hear me from the glass pane i was on "YESS YOU GO!! CANT BELIEVE TATTOO FELLA HAS A SMALL DICK, WHATTA LOSER BAHAHAHA POINT AND LAUGH FELLAS- GOSH THATS SO EMBARRASSING"

TATTOO GUY!!! I HATE THIS B-TCHES GUTS! anyways, we would also meet a bit after the night before tug of war when he and his goons kill a bunch of people. he would probably try and get in my pants at one point- heres how that goes,

"omg hey bbygirl youre so hot and sexy and sexy and hot aha"

"oh my gosh you are too what a coincidence *vomits on him* *leaves*"

but yeah. he also most definitely talks sh-t about me and is about to fight me but is all like "lmfao forget it puny girl i have higher standards" to which i throw the punch instead before he leaves and go feral on his a$$.

Meeting and Dating Don Dawson

- Don and you first meet when you’re walking through the halls during class time to go deliver something for your teacher. He was ditching class with a friend when the two of you “bumped into each other” and by that I mean you passed them while they leaned against a group of lockers.

- He does a doubletake when you walk past him for the first time. He isn’t shy about his leering either, he full on turns toward you and stares. After he’s gotten a good look, he turns toward his friend, waggles his eyebrows, and tails it after you.

- It kind of spooks you a little when he comes up beside you with an enthusiastic “how ya doin!” but you smile awkwardly and greet him back. He tries to chat you up while you walk back to class; he’s kind of cute so you don’t exactly mind.

- You pause outside of your class to talk a little more but your teacher cuts your conversation short with a teasing comment to you and a cocked brow to Don. He in response starts to flirt with your teacher, earning himself a smile and giggle from you. He winks at you one last time before he disappears back into the hallway and your teacher closes the door.

- He catches you when you’re walking to your car after school and propositions you in his usual fashion. You say “yeah, no thanks” and get in your car, leaving him in the dust. It was at that moment, watching your car disappear down the road, that he decides he has to have you.

- You thought the ordeal was kind of funny so you aren’t too bothered when he approaches you while you’re out with some friends. The two of you just so happened to go to the same place with your individual friend groups. He doesnt proposition you this time, thankfully.

- Now Don, at first, just thought you were hot and was trying to shoot his shot and to weasel his way into your pants. But as he’s talking to you he realizes that he really likes you, like you’re fun to talk to and you’re really interesting. He starts to feel this connection with you that he’s never really had with anyone else.

- Even though he doesn’t want to “admit it” he forms a little crush on you. He starts to talk to and hang out with you more; making it kind of obvious that he likes you with his flirting and innuendos. And you like it, him and the attention, so when he says “Hey why don’t we go grab a bite to eat sometime.” You tell him to “name a date and you’ll be there.”

- It takes him only a few seconds to respond.

- For your first date he gets a few beers and sodas and takes you out to a field where you sit in the bed of his truck and stargaze. He goes to kiss you once or twice but you don’t let him, you know how he is with girls and want to test him a little before you give in. Either way everything goes well and you agree to go out with him again.

- Although he accepts your refusal he probably still complains to the guys that you aren’t letting him “do anything”. But your refusal is more entertaining rather than anything else, he likes you as more than a lay so it doesn’t bother too much. He’s more determined and excited than annoyed.

- For your third date you’d gone to a concert together and the two of you had your first kiss as the band played. Definitely a very memorable experience and one you’re glad to remember. After your first kiss he knew for sure that you were the one.

- For the most part you have a very playful relationship.

- A lot of nicknames although most of the time he’s joking when he uses them. Like he’ll say a bunch of them in a row to get your attention or when he’s smothering you in affection.

- A few genuine ones still slip out sometimes.

- He kind of just lets you do whatever you want to him. Put his hair in pigtails, put make up on him, do his nails, crawl all over him, climb him like a monkey, anything you want as long as the evidence can be erased or go unnoticed.

-  He loves affection and touching you and all that but he isn’t all that into pda. He likes the joking, quick funny stuff but keeps most of what he does behind closed doors unless you’re hanging around some of his good friends who also have their girlfriends there.

- He likes to lay his head in your lap and have you play with his hair.

- Lots of hugs.

- Piggyback rides.

- Double dates with Simone and Pink.

- Matching overalls.

- You’ve probably put flowers in the pocket of his overalls and he secretly finds it so precious. You’ve definitely snuck little notes in them without him knowing and when he finds them he can’t help but smile.

- Smacking his arm and giving him looks to get him to behave, you try your best to keep him out of trouble even though he makes it pretty difficult.

- He watches you a lot, especially whenever you walk away...he likes the view.

- He’s usually pretty animated and goofy, its kind of just how he is so you get to observe all of his adorable and funny quirks.

- You’re nearly always smiling or laughing when you’re with him.

- Playful flirting.

- Him trying to jokingly yet not so jokingly proposition you.

- Lewd jokes, he laughs hysterically whenever you grimace at them.

- Going to his football games and cheering him on.

- Meeting him after football practice and kissing behind the bleachers.

- Hanging out in the back of pickup trucks.

- Dawson’s kinda cool with everyone so he has a lot of friends around the school and subsequently everyones pretty friendly to you. All your friends probably like him. 

- Going to parties with him and getting invited to others just for being his girlfriend.

- He always has a beer ready for you or shares his own with you, if you’re into that sort of thing.

- Going on little adventures with him.

- Hes pretty much down to do whatever you have in mind.

- Concert dates.

- He’ll play tackle/pounce on you and start kissing all over your neck and face; he’s pretty fond of that move.

- Secret handshakes.

- He’s a good listener, he likes hearing about what’s new in your life and things that you’ve done recently.

- He hates seeing you upset; he’s not very good at comforting you but he tries to get you to forget about whatever’s bugging you.

- Play wrestling.

- If you mention wanting something he’d 100% go out and grab it for you.

- He’s got major big brother vibes, do with that what you will.

- He gets involved in a lot of crazy shit so be prepared for some killer stories. He thinks its cute when you look worried for him.

- Constant compliments.

“Looking good.”

- Making fun of each other.

- Play arguing and punching.

- Tricking you into doing something suggestive; mostly when you’re alone, he doesnt want to completely embarrass you...or give his friends a free show.

- He admits he’s an asshole so be prepared. Although to be fair a lot of his asshole behavior is just a front. He’s actually really sweet once you get to know him, especially when you’re his girl/he likes you.

- He does think its kind of funny when you get mad at him...well it depends on how mad you get and how mad you stay. If you grumpily trudge off, rolling your eyes at him in front of his friends then he’ll probably laugh and joke with them.

- A lot of “oh come on babe it was just a joke!”

- It isn’t until you really stay mad that he no longer finds it as funny. He doesn’t like fighting with you but you always inevitably do. In a fight you’ll argue for a while before he tries to just end it as painlessly as possible. At that point he isnt even really sorry nor does he think you’ve settled things, he just doesnt want to fight anymore.

“Okay, okay,okay, alright, so-”.

- Sometimes his attempts to calm things really just backfire for him, like if you feel like he isn’t really listening and just trying to brush you off. It really depends on what you’d fight with him about.

- When you’re holding a grudge he’ll make jokes and bets with his friends, condescendingly saying how you “think you’re mad at him”. He says it himself: he’s an asshole. Although in these moments a lot of his asshole behavior is just him being spiteful because he’s hurt that you won’t talk to him.

- He does know how to apologize when he’s done something wrong or upset you. Like I said he’s usually really sweet even if he doesn’t act like it sometimes. It’s the reason you can come to forgive him especially during the “trial” part of your relationship (up next).

- He flirts too much, thats always been his problem, that and he’s sort of a hypocrite about it; he thinks he can flirt with other girls but you arent allowed to flirt with other guys. He doesn’t understand the injustice but after your first really big fight and subsequent breakup; most likely where he sees you go out with another guy, he finally learns his lesson.

- He’s a pretty coolheaded guy but he definitely doesn’t like people flirting with or having a thing for you even if he’s a playboy and would usually partake in the locker room talk with them. When you came along he was kind of like “Well I’ve finally settled down and I like this one a lot so back off.”.

- He gets a lot of girls coming after him so you’ll probably get a little jealous every now and again. He tries to assure you as best as he can that he isn’t interested in them.

- He’s a football player so there’s at least a little pent up aggression in him. He’s ready to bust a lip to get a guy off your back or stop him from trying to get with you.

- He wants that nuclear family type of future, with a nice house, picket fence, and son to play catch with in the yard. He never thought he’d imagine a future with a girl before but here he is, and he... kinda likes it.

- He’s definitely dropped a “Mrs. Dawson” on you after you teasingly called him Mr. Dawson. You’d just been trying to mess with him but then he had to go and make you all flustered and giddy.

- Dawson will probably go to college on a football scholarship. Before you came along he was planning on screwing a lot of chicks but now thinks “I’d be pissed if she screwed a guy while I was gone” and stops the temptation where it starts. He comes a long way during your relationship.

- I can see him proposing to you after he gets out of college and settles down with a nice job. He’d make a personal kind of special occasion out of the proposal, something that involves a sentimental part of your relationship.
