Accidentally Undercover AU, let's go!
Three idiots and six identities, and all the comedic chaos that entails.
Y/N is a rather particular parkour enthusiast, who happened to catch the eye of someone scouting for new secret agent material. They're damn good at their job, though their lighthearted "ehehe I'm a secret agent" attitude doesn't really give off that impression. They're proud of their reputation though, and worked hard to get where they are.
In come Sun and Moon - one animatronic, two AIs (unbeknownst to Y/N). A tag team that works shorter shifts but due to their shared body still more than Y/N, and is scarily efficient. They quickly ascend the ranks and become respected agents to everyone except Y/N. About the same time, they look for a new place to live - somewhere with more space for all their gadgets and gear, and preferably with a landlord who won't ask too many questions.
Well, Y/N doesn't ask any questions they don't want turned around towards them, so at least with this arrangement everyone is happy. They don't mind the drilling, whirring, and all the other seemingly suspicious noises - because they're used to them, and have their own little workshop (although they invested in soundproofing long before Sun and Moon moved in). They do quite like their new neighbor, not realizing that's supposed to be plural, and find him one of the easier people to deal with in their life.
Not like their rival at work - who really seems hellbent on making their life difficult. Some mission overlap means they meet quite often, and fortunately mutually agree not to tell anyone else when their banter distracts them from the mission itself, almost causing them to fail. They don't truly hate each other. They're just the two smart kids in class who always need to prove themselves (to the other).
They're all very smart to work as secret agents - but I cannot emphasize enough that they are all three extremely, extremely stupid when it comes to their identities. They don't even expect the nice neighbor/ annoying coworker to be both, so of course they don't notice.
Sun and Moon can talk internally, and do sometimes, but mostly while one is active the other is in rest mode. It's a mutual decision - they would drive each other crazy, constantly critiquing actions/ not being able to actually intervene. They can "wake" each other, but mostly do that around the time of the switch anyway.
So when one talks about the respective Y/N identity they're aware of, they do so via recounting, and not shared memories, only increasing the dissonance between "Robin" and Y/N.
A present day to mildly futuristic setting, animatronics and robots are fully integrated into society. There's also enough of them around, so Y/N in turn doesn't question why their neighbor and coworker look so damn similar.
Shenanigans ensue
Edit: Here's the masterlist! (Check reblogs for future updates)

the fun section of the writer's ask game
21. Who is/are your favourite character(s) to write?
MY OCS ATM. AND THE VERSIONS OF EVERYONE FOR MY STAR TREK AU. I put a lot of effort into them and making them feel real and understandable within their story!
Harland is super fun to write cause it's a chance to explore a world and characters I love while being respectful of the canon of the game, but seeing what aspects I can go further into with Harland. And all the snippets of Abe and Orc I've started writing is just AUGHHH THEY'RE COMING ALIVE!!!!
22. Who is/are your favourite pairing(s) to write?
Magland... Abe and Orc...... There's some I want to write, like Leon x Ada or Hylink (again.... Sigh....) that I think I'll have fun with. I just like writing pairings that have interesting dynamics or bounce off each other in silly ways
23. Favourite author
Ahhh man. It's hard to say cause I feel like I haven't read anything consistently enough lately to say for sure. I can say when I was younger I really loved CS Lewis and as a teen I really enjoyed what little I'd read by Niel Shusterman, and maybe throw in Adachitoka for good measure
24. Favourite genre to write and read
SCI-FI / THRILLER ALL THE WAYYYYY BABBBEEEYYY
I like other stuff like fantasy and drama and whatever too ofc but like. NOTHING QUITE SCRATCHES THE ITCH LIKE THESE TWO, ESP IF THEY'RE A PAIR.
Sci-fi is soooo broad and fun, it's interesting when it's low concept or high concept and I like that it's so easy to inject philosophical dilemmas into the bones of the story and leave you thinking, and I like how interesting it is when you can draw parallels to current life (it's especially interesting seeing retro future sorta stories, both the fun aesthetics of 90s shit but also just seeing what people thought the scientific advances could be the further back you go, and seeing things that used to be sci-fi become just sci)
AND THRILLERRRRS.... I find them more interesting and scary than horror, though I've often been mistaken for a horror head even tho I feel like I don't watch horror that much... (Unless it's overlapped with thriller I guess lol) Idk I just find that the kind of stories you can tell when you drag out the tension and let the scares settle in to the atmosphere instead of demanding attention front and centre affect me more. I like when there's some kind of conspiracy or danger to work around and it gets more horrific with worse implications the further you claw into it. I want the fear to linger in my mind instead of only speaking to my body (think like how a jump scare isn't really scary other than startling you, vs something that actually unnerves you and gets worse the more you think about it)
I guess all that to say. I like thinking about things and want the story to haunt me with everything it's got. I want to still be thinking about it years later cause there was something in there that lingered....
25. Favourite part of writing
Already answered here
26. Favourite writing program
Libre, I guess? There's certain things I miss from Microsoft word/google docs but fuck them LMAO 🖕🖕🖕 I just wanna be able to write easily and have basic formatting options, ya feel. Libre does the job so I use libre
27. Favourite line/scene
Of my own writing?? I feel like I haven't written them all yet..
Here's a Wip of a scene I really love from much later in harlands story that I really love:
"Well aren't you just a bundle of contradiction." Flea mused.
"Pardon?" Harland asked.
Flea sauntered up to Harland, circling around him as he spoke.
"A friend to both sides of the war." He swatted Harlands hair from his shoulder, watching it fall as he avoided eye contact. "A pacifist whose work has made weapons."
Harland opened his mouth to defend himself, but flea dragged his finger across his chest. Harland couldn't help but get distracted as the general's nail tugged at his collar.
"I don't make weapons." He said, unable to hide the slight waver in his voice.
Flea pouted at him condescendingly. "You may not make them, but would they exist without you?"
Harland clenched his jaw.
"Even when you fight-"
"I don't fight." Harland interrupted.
"EVEN WHEN YOU FIGHT," Flea continued, "you are offensively defensive."
Flea smiled, enjoying Harland struggling to keep himself composed. He stood in front of him, tracing his jawline. "What a contradictory mess of a man…”
28. Favourite side character
Ummmm. Every single one. Idk. Too hard to pick from media but I can tell you that I really like the kitty cat baker lady, shy cow girl and orc's sister from Abe and Orc. And obviously, my most favourite side character from their story is the Penis Wizard
29. Favourite villain
MAGUS BABBBEEEYYY!!!!!!!!!! ALWAYS AND FOREVER!!!!!!!! IHYRYGJPOGJOJGLVJB I NEED TO WRITE STUFF ABOUT HOW INTERESTING HE IS SOMEDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
30. Favourite idea you haven’t started on yet
Oh man there's so much. I will say it's my screenplay, Misled Millionaire, that was an integral part to making me wanna study film. I've planned so much without it feeling ready and I knew I needed to learn more to do the idea justice, and I still have hand written notes from 2019 that I kept, and even found the original quick note I wrote in my phone all the way back when I just had it as a silly little idea:
Reclusive millionaire searching for new life purpose, unlikely friendship with a fake psychic.
The story has changed quite a bit, but the gist of it is that a younger entrepreneur type is feeling lost and lacking despite ticking off so many boxes that should mean he's successful and happy. While he tries to find himself, he grows dependant on his new friendship with a little old lady who gives him fortunes, until one day he can't find her when he really needs her. When I've made progress on other stories, I'll write the screenplay and hopefully direct it myself! So no stealing my ideas!!
Send me some writing asks

(same anon as before hiiii) please talk more about wuya...... Well yeah obviously you do that a lot here but i need MORE I love when ppl make ocs and are so passionate about it because I am too and it's not just a silly thing to think about in the meantime my oc occupy my every thought
Do you have hcs for his interactions with other characters? Stories you write (not necessarily fics, but also note app thingies or stuff you make with friends etc), aus... I like making those for my oc
ALSO!! What are your fav oc x canon ships..... I love canon characters ships but idk there's smth special about doing it with your ocs yk and you said oc x canon is your fav thing in the world.....so true.....
Ps: I started working on my own oc's info (voicelines n stuff) and it's so hard to write other characters in a way they're not too ooc or different from canon ouch 🥹
wow youre flustering me here anon. wuya rlly is always on my mind, esp since i draw and roleplay him on occasion with friends. he isn't a self insert or a yume, but he does hold a lot of deeply personal topics within his character. and has aspects of myself and my personality within his writing and profile.
and uhmm i have some!!
wuya really likes kalim's company and energy. he loves jade's genuine interest and appreciation for nature. he thinks rook is hilarious, and goes out of his way to taunt and play " cat and mouse " with him.
my main ship with wuya is with floyd ( a ship my friend group has taken to calling floya or floyer ). it's a pairing ive given a lot of thought to, and i've dove pretty deeply into the dynamic and chemistry there. i don't ship a lot usually as is since i'm so particular about these things. but i actually made a pretty neat little chart for characters and how wuya feels about them in general: here.
i LOVE oc x canon.
when i was pretty young, and did actively join and counted myself part of fandoms in general-- i was met with a lot of negativity for it. i'm so happy to see oc x canon is a lot more accepted and encouraged now. and because of my own experiences i really push and support people who wanna do what they wanna do. so what if you ship your funky little brain child with your favorite character? it isn't hurting anyone, and it's just another way to show you love and appreciate that character.
lastly, yes. it is hard. i consider myself pretty good at it, i've got a lot of rp experience under my belt. and i do think i've developed a skill for reading particular sorts of characters, and capturing their canon well. it's always a challenge, but in the end so long as you're happy with how it sounds... i think that's all that matters.

Hey so you’re like zosan gospel to me bc you are the ONLY person who’s done zosan in a way that i like. Do you have any fic rec for them?? I wanna try and Get It but i really don’t unless it’s your comics—a Lot of other zosan is either ooc or ooc and fujoshi.
Also i really really dig ur art and your writing for your comics, you grasp the characters of op (esp sanji) in such an iconic way idk its in character but also so much more mature at the same time, i respect it.
(Also also sorry if you don’t answer asks on this blog i just figured the ship fic rec ask should go to the ship blog)
Thank you so much for the kind words!! It's extremely flattering to think I can be showing people what zosan can be, HAHA. I know exactly where you're coming from. I was a young gay teen/tween when I first got into One Piece, and so I saw some potential chemistry between Zoro and Sanji, but it seemed like every other person I saw shipping them was shipping them for totally different reasons to me. It felt like a lot of them were totally ignoring what made their dynamic unique.
So I just kind of stopped trying to engage with other shippers and watched/read the whole series in a vacuum LMAO. The way I interpret the ship ended up shielded from the popular zosan vibe. I see them get forced into very strict, stereotypical roles that don't really match up with their personalities at all, like... the whole appeal of them, to me, is that they're as similar as they are different? Neither of them are going to be stoic all the time or none of the time, or bashful, or aggressive, etc... They can both easily have either of those traits depending on circumstance. A relationship where they end up stuck in the same roles forever just... isn't Zosan to me, haha. Obviously a lot of it is heteronormativity, too. A lot of preconceptions about how a relationship has to have one "wife" role and one "husband" role and then what those roles dictate... etc etc. Not only is that not really how gay couples work, full stop, it's also just totally not how zosan works LMAO
Sorry for rambling, this is kind of off-topic. I guess because you said you wanted to understand the ship I thought I'd explain a bit of why it appeals to me. At the end of the day I like their canon dynamic, I think there's a lot of love and trust behind it already, I just think it's totally possible there could be a layer of romantic love to it, too. Ultimately they both know the other person is someone they understand, and can rely on - being able to predict someone's actions, even if they're actions that are going to piss you off or which you'll disagree with, is a kind of comfort and stability, lol. They know each other inside and out. And also, it must be a load off each others' mind for them to think, "now there's a guy I don't have to look out for".
ALRIGHT ACTUALLY ONTO THE QUESTION YOU ASKED: I don't read a lot of fics, teehee! [Gets run over by a semi] BUT I can tell you right now you can't go wrong with anything by demonzoro on AO3. They have a really nuanced and beautiful comprehension of their relationship and their dynamic. They give zosan a lot of depth and emotion that's very compelling and sincere. I recommend starting off with And Then The Sun Came Out, which has been described as a "slow burn speedrun". The visuals in this fic...... they haunt me
I don't have any specific fic to link, but I also often enjoy the way 8ball (also on AO3) portrays them. It's a bit different from the dynamic I give them, but what I've read is good, well-founded, and draws you in. They also do doodles on Twitter - I've been greatly enjoying the childhood AU comics they've been posting currently.
On that note, if you like the ratbag dynamic I give zosan then you'll probably also enjoy pierogiy's stuff on Twitter, especially if, like me, you enjoy kicking Sanji around like a football
Thank you again for the kind words on my writing/characterisation of them! A lot of comic work focuses on the art but I work hard on the writing too, so this feedback means a lot!
#zosan#long post#man like. sometimes even I ask myself why I ship them#but ultimately I think they're just in love. they're kind of soulmates who wish they weren't#sometimes you can pinpoint why or when you fell in love with someone. and other times it just creeps up on you#I think they compensate for each others' weaknesses. in life and in battle. and they both appreciate that#there is something sweet to think they KNOW they're incompatible (at least when they're younger)#but also that they feel too strongly about each other to be able to ignore it. so they have no choice#but to find some way to make it work
