WIPs
Stealing this from elfwreck.
“Rules : post the names of all the files in your WIP folder regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them and then post a little snippet of it or tell them something about it! And then tag as many people as you have wips. (please repost, don’t reblog) This isn’t just for writing either. Sketch titles? Comics? DnD campaigns? If you have an unfinished project, it counts!”
I’m gonna skip the tagging part (I do not know that many people to tag), but thought this has the potential to be fun (or tell on myself. Probably tell on myself if I’m honest). I’m also skipping *anything* I wrote before coming back to fandom in 2020. Cause... that would be bad. I never used to finish *anything*. Also, I’m not bothering to separate these out to what accounts I expect to post them on, so buyer beware (though some should be pretty obvious)? she says as if anyone will actually play 🤣

hello there!!! I was looking through some of your tags and I found that you have an ao3 account (I think) with some interesting fics. could you pass over a link cuz it isn't on your faq page
I peak out from my rocky cave to push dozens of scrappy old papers out in the open
https://archiveofourown.org/users/Zuhelle/works
I once more recede into the darkness out of embarrassment
~~~
List of incomplete fics I have yet to post:
Miraculous Ladybug Fic: “Arranged”  involving humanized!Kwami where the Miraculous Jewelry isn’t just a power keeper, but also an arranged marriage sort of deal. Main pairings will be PlaggxAdrien and TikixMarinette. (At odds with myself if AdrienxMarinette will be part of those pairings...) (70% complete, current word count: 47,698 aka 117 pages)
Teen Titans Fic: “The Stolen Apprentice”. Takes place during Robin’s “apprenticeship” to Slade. A certain someone finds out that his great-grandson has been enslaved, and he just can’t have his future heir working under someone else. Robin is stolen from Slade by the Court of Owls. Who the hell are these people.... just exactly who is Robin...? And will Slade be able to choke down his pride and enlist the help of a certain Batman to save what’s been lost? (No Pairings, Angst, Hurt/comfort, family)
Code Geass Fic: “Lelouch of the Revise”. Lelouch Vi Britannia has been slain. But Lelouch should have known... killing a Code bearer wouldn’t be that easy. Lelouch’s mind is shoved back to earth, into the body of a young high school boy, about to be shot in Shinjuku ghetto. His body, from three years ago. Lelouch has been given a second chance. A chance to change everything. Will he succeed, or will his revisions of the past only bring a darker future? (And what new discoveries will he unlock along the way?)
Harry Potter Fic: “The Cursed Children”. Rewrite of the badly received Harry Potter and the Cursed Child playwright, following the lives of Albus Severus Potter, Scorpius Malfoy, Delphini ‘Diggory’, and a young muggle-born transfer student named Raweni Kawari from MahouTokoro School of WitchCraft and Wizardry. Things are not as they seem. Dark times await them, and they chase after this darkness without thinking about the consequences. (AlbusXScorpius DelphinixRaweni) (Although there is an OC in here, consider her as like a Ginny to the main trio of Harry Potter. She’s involved, but it focuses more on the trio in the series) (At first it will be Cursed Child canon-compliant, but then I’m gonna go nuts when the plot starts to pick up. I’m excited. I don’t wanna reveal too much, hehe) (Still working out the kinks in this one. Needs a lot of revision work.)
ROTG Fic: No name as of yet. Not yet started. Genderbend Centerswap AU. One day, Jack woke up, and everything was wrong. He and the Guardians are transported to a world opposite of them. Not only are the “other Guardians” the opposite gender, but their beliefs and centers are changed as well. And not for the better. The “Guardians” of this world are evil and bring about terror amongst children. A certain Boogiewoman however does the opposite. Perhaps they’ll need to set aside their assumptions and enlist her help to get back home... and maybe stop the cruelty emanating from her world in the process. And they’ll need to start with the Moon’s ultimate weapon: Jacquelyn Frost.  (Focus is Fem!Pitch and Fem!Jack. Their centers have been changed to courage and mundanity. Angst fic, dark themes.)
ROTG Fic: No name as of yet, not started. ROTG Apocalypse AU. Similar to the one listed above, but the Four Guardians are now the Four Horsemen. To protect the world from falling into Chaos, a lone angel, Jack Frost (Unsure whether to be female or male yet in this au) Encased the Four Horsemen in ice for all eternity to prevent this catastrophic event. Jack cannot allow a slip-up, lest the world end........ but a certain tall, black-haired being enraptures the frost spirit’s heart.... slowly but surely warming it. But unbeknownst to her(?), thawing away her(?) imprisoning frost in the process. (PitchxJack, angst, romance? Potential betrayal fic, dark themes.)
BLEACH Fic: No name as of yet. Ichigo uses Mugetsu against Yhwach, but it destroys the boundaries of space-time, sending White Zangetsu and Black Tensa into the past..... But Ichigo Kurosaki is nowhere to be found. What have they changed? What disasters have they brought into motion far too early? Can they change their ending to be happily ever after, or will they reside in darkness forever? (Pairing: ~slightly established~ White Zangetsu(Hollow) x Black Tensa(Quincy). Hurt/comfort, romance, adventure. Involves amnesiac Black Tensa and Mute White Zangetsu.)
BLEACH Fic: No name as of yet. Not yet started. Ichigo is the new Soul King. Aizen is his advisor. This comes as a shock to everyone and may spark outrage amongst the Sereitei if not kept quiet. What’s worse? Finding out Aizen Sousuke is the Soul King’s advisor? ....Or finding out the Soul King and his so-called advisor are involved in a scandalous, intimate relationship with each other? (AizenxIchigo fic. I will not apologize fite me)
Kingdom Hearts Fic: No name as of yet. Involves a rare, impossible meeting between Roxas and Vanitas. Their other halves are locked away asleep, safe and sound. But they are awake. And being hunted. Their forbidden meeting will spark confusion, changed alliances, and perhaps more. (Unclear if RoxasxVanitas just yet, fic is still a WIP.)
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13237659/2/Raimon-Jr-High
Hm...was it because my upload was on a monday, that’s why there were no notes from tumblr regarding my fic? Well, now I’ve uploaded on sunday, so it should be better! :)
Disclaimer: I seriously, 100%, totally don't even own the charas, their backgrounds, their clothes, their whatever. My name is not Hino and I'm not even Japanese. Lots of genderbend characters. You've been warned.
"You are late, Tenma!" Aoi reprimanded, placing her hands in her hips, after hearing running footsteps coming towards her. They had agreed to meet once break time started. It was already fifteen minutes past that!
"Heh heh...Gomen, Aoi." Tenma stopped in front of the blue haired girl, looking apologetically at her. Aoi continued fiercely staring at her friend before noticing the short brunette girl beside her.
"Aren't you the girl who asked to be the student councilor president's girlfriend just now?" Aoi crouched down to be in the same level as her.
"Yes!"
"You're not embarrassed?" Shinsuke shook her head. Aoi smiled, finding the girl very brave, and introduced herself,
"I'm Sorano Aoi. Nice to meet you!"
"Nice to meet you too, Tenma's childhood friend! I guess you know my name already." Shinsuke rubbed the back of her tilted head while looking down in embarrassment. Aoi smiled back with a wider smile. She stood up and eyed Tenma.
"So how is Tsurugi?" Aoi asked, remembering seeing the bully's name in the class list when they both looked for their new class. She took her friend's hands, worry in her eyes, "Did he demand for your money? Tell me whatever he did to you."
"Eh!? Tsurugi Kyousuke is in our class!?" Shinsuke didn't realize the navy blue haired boy was in the same class as her and Tenma. "Tenma, are you alright?" Aoi looked around, hoping not to spot for any familiar navy blue. She turned back to Shinsuke and placed a finger on her lips, signaling her to soften down her voice. It would be bad if he heard them.
"Ah...he's..." The voice of Tenma lead to the other two girls to face her. Tenma gazed upwards, trying to find a word that best described Tsurugi, "he's changed..."
"Changed?!" Both girls eyes widened, their eyebrows shot up into their bangs. Tenma brought her head back down,
"He didn't do any of those things, the bullying, the beating. He just said hi and then continued on with the lesson." Tenma explained further. Aoi and Shinsuke stared at her for a long time before the blue haired girl touched the brunette's forehead.
"Tenma, don't talk nonsense. This is Tsurugi we are talking about." Aoi said after she removed her hand. She did not seem to have a fever.
"Yeah! It's Tsurugi Kyousuke, Tenma! Is she feverish, Aoi?"
"No. She isn't."
"Girls, I'm telling the truth and I'm perfectly fine! Tsurugi is no longer a bully!" The two stared at her again but their disbelief expression was replaced with worry. Aoi spoke up,
"Tenma, maybe we could let you see a Guidance Councillor at least-"
"I'm telling you the truth! You girls aren't believing in me!" Tenma turned around and briskly stomped back to her classroom. She was mad, how could her friends not believe her!? What she said was true, totally true! Tsurugi seemed to really have changed. She could feel it. Why won't they trust her? Tenma continued down the hallway and was so into her thoughts that she did not hear five girls whispering to themselves as they hid behind a wall, shadowed.
"She's the one, Matsukaze Tenma, big sis!" A short haired girl informed a girl with long, light brown, almost passing for blond, curly hair, and with a pink ribbon headband. The latter was glaring at Tenma with anger stored in her emerald eyes. She seemed to be the leader of the group, judging by the way the short hair girl called her. The leader gripped the wall that her subordinates were sure could break off anytime soon.
"Grrr...curse that girl for stealing my Shindou-sama! I'll make her pay!" The girls around her kept quiet, knowing the next thing she was going to say were orders to get rid of that girl and teach her a lesson for getting close to Shindou Takuto, their idol. The leader grinned, "Lets corner her after school."
Tenma was walking down the hallway after school with her head down, sad about what she had said to her two best friends. She shouldn't have shouted. Who shouts at their friends when they were concerned about their well being? Especially Shinsuke who admires her. Would her image of Tenma still be strong after that outburst? Tenma decided she should apologize.
"Matsukaze Tenma." A voice called from behind. Hearing her name, Tenma turned her head around to find five girls standing in front of her. The four girls at the back and an eye-catching girl, the leader, with curly hair at the front. She had a haughty look on her face as she grinned at Tenma.
"Y-yes...?" Tenma stuttered, something about those five girls told Tenma that she was in big trouble. Very big trouble. The girl's face twisted in disgust, but switched back to her arrogant grin a second later. Tenma guessed this girl does not like her for some reason. That was why these girls were confronting her. Not that Tenma could figure out why. She had never met this girl before.
"Tch. Who do you think you are talking to Shindou-sama!?" S-Shindou-senpai? Were they his fangirls? Tenma did talk to the prince during her break. Were they jealous of her getting his attention? Wait, Shinsuke was there too! She even confessed to Shindou back at the hall. Tenma had to get to her immediately!
"C-calm down. Let's just talk ok?" Tenma was trying to ease the situation while side stepping away from the group to get pass them, but she was cut off by the leader grabbing her uniform.
"No buts girl! You have no right to speak to Shindou-sama!" Tenma shut her eyes, her grip was too tight that it hurt her skin too. Tenma tried to use her hands to remove the grip but to no avail.
"But I-"
"Stop talking!" She threw Tenma to one side, letting her back hit a locker.
"Ah!" Her back hurt, yet Tenma was sure those girl wouldn't let her go just yet. The curly haired leader of the girls bend forward in front of Tenma, and slowly raised her arm back, ready to slap her. Tenma closed her eyes, bracing for impact.
"You'll regret ever getting close to Shindou-sama!" The girl swung her hand down, when a voice shouted,
"Leave her alone!" The palm stopped in front of Tenma, inches away from her face. All of them turned to the voice. A girl stood there, wearing the second year blue ribbon on her Raimon uniform. Her soft and silky pink haired was tied by mint green hair ties to two low pig tails that reached her mid back. Her azure eyes shone under the sunlight, making it looked like the clear blue sea. She stood with her hands on her hips. Tenma's eyes widened. She was the most beautiful girl she had ever seen.
"Tsch. You're lucky, Matsukaze Tenma." The curly haired girl let go and glared at Tenma. She then turned to the newcomer and grinned, "Let's go girls." She flipped her hair and then walk away passed the pink haired girl with the girls following her behind. The pink haired girl ran up to Tenma,
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah...it hurts but I'm ok." Tenma slowly stood up with the help of the second year girl.
"Those girls...They bully any girl who gets is close to Shindou. Even me." The last part was spoken in a harsh and sad tone. The pink haired girl looked down as she said that.
"Eh? They target you too?" Tenma asked, oblivious to the change in the pink haired girl's tone.
"Yeah..." The girl looked back up with a half-hearted smile, trying to get rid of her sad thoughts,
"I don't get why they did this. I've never done anything to steal Shindou-senpai from them. We just met him when Shindou-senpai wanted to apologize to my friend for rejecting her. She's the one who confessed to him in the hall an- Ah!"
"What's wrong?" The pink haired senior jumped from my sudden exclamation. She blinked curiously,
"Shinsuke! My friend who confessed to Shindou-senpai in the hall! She was with me when he apologized to us later during the day!" Tenma explained, "Those girls, they might be targeting her too!"
"You should call her." Her senior replied, but Tenma had already whipped out her phone to dial Shinsuke's number. It rang for a couple of rings before the call was picked up,
"TENMAAAAA! I'M SO SORRYYYYYY!"
"Ah!" Tenma flinched, pulling her phone away from her ear to save her eardrums. She noticed her senior winced as well from the yell.
"I'm sorry for not trusting you! I don't deserve to be your friend! Tenma-san please forgive meeeeeee!" Shinsuke cried from the other line. Tenma smiled. It seemed Shinsuke was not mad at her. And it also seemed that the bullies were not targeting her, but Tenma had to make sure.
"Shinsuke! Where are you right now? Are you okay?"
"Eweh? I'm at home. W-what happened, Tenma-san?" Tenma shook her head, then remembered Shinsuke was not physically here with her,
"Nh hm. Everything's fine now. Some of Shindou-senpai's fans cornered me just now-" She heard Shinsuke taking a breath, about to say something, in which she quickly tried to placate her, "B-but I'm fine, don't worry. A senior saved me." Tenma briefly glanced at said senior, "I was worried they might target you too, so I called."
"Oh. T-Tenma-san, you are so kind!" Shinsuke sounded like she was tearing up. Tenma scratched the back of her head lightly in embarrassment,
"Heheh...It's nothing. That's what's friends do, right? And could you stop calling me with the suffix? I'm not used to that." The pink haired senior grinned at her side, causing Tenma to blush red,
"Tenma-sa-...Tenma. Nhm! We're friends! Heheh." Tenma could almost see Shinsuke's nod. Tenma was so glad she still valued their friendship. "About Tsurugi, I'm sorry for what happened today. I believe in you, Tenma! If you say he's changed, then he has!" Tenma blinked. Shinsuke believed her! She trusts that Tsurugi has changed from his bullying ways.
"Shinsuke...Thank you." Tenma said with teary eyes sincerely.
"No problem, Tenma."
"A-anyway, I have to go now. I'm glad you're alright, Shinsuke. Let's talk tomorrow okay?"
"Of course Tenma! See you tomorrow!" There was a short pause before the line clicked off.
"That's your friend Nishizono Shinsuke right? The one who confessed to Shindou this morning." The senior piped up once the call ended. Tenma nodded,
"I wonder why Senpai's fangirls didn't confront her." Tenma fingered while looking down at her phone, deep in thought. The pink haired tapped her chin in a thinking pose,
"Well I guess the reason why is because Shindou rejected her, so they have no need to target her as Shindou doesn't like her."
"Eh? But Shindou-senpai apologized to Shinsuke after that! That's why they targeted me because they saw me with Shindou-senpai! Shinsuke was there too!"
"Uhm...maybe she was too short that they couldn't see her but only you?" That made both of them burst into laughter. It was true, Shinsuke was very short for a middle schooler, "I see that you can stand well. I'll be going now." The girl picked up Tenma's school bag and handed it over to her.
"Thanks." Tenma took it and the girl dashed off, "Ne, what is your name!?" The girl stopped running and turned around to face Tenma,
"Kirino Ranmaru!"
"I'm Matsukaze Tenma! Thanks for saving me!" A smile graced Kirino's lips, and then she dashed off. Tenma watched her leave, even her name was beautiful. Tenma then turned around and walked in the direction of her home.A little note written by my past self :P, but with some slight edits by my current self cuz some explanations just don't make sense -cries-. My plan was for Tsurugi to save her. I'm trying to follow the typical Shoujo High School Romance cliché, and it's usually the love interest saving the main character from bullies. So Tsurugi would have been the best to interfer. Especially if I wanted to showcase that he's a better person than before. But I wanted Kirino to come in sooner because I love him and also, in my dream (I didn't really state properly before but this entire fic was created from my dream), Tenma somehow knew who Kirino is. So I decided she should appear in here. I did add a bit of a past between the leader of Sindou's fangirls and Kirino. And before you guys think too overboard. They were not friends in the past, they were not fighting each other for Shindou's love and the leader's not Shindou's fiancée. If there's anymore dramatic guesses, no. Thank you all for reading! If you liked this chapter, please leave a review. It would be much appreciated and would really give me the boost to churn out the next chapter :)
Okay, so there is something to be said for not eating cheese before falling asleep in the mid-afternoon sun, because as fun as it sounds, it can mean for some seriously weird dreams. I am 1000% blaming @shanastoryteller for this, because right before I dozed off, I read this post here that she wrote and it hit a wall, turned 90 degrees east and ran off into the sunset of hell half-frozen over.
So. First let me tell you this, I am not writing this as a fic. Just no. It’s bad enough as it is. Also, while I’m somewhat known for genderbending, I am not really a fan of Fem!Ed. Kind like how I can’t handle Fem!Yuuri from YOI. It’s just… these precious babies are perfect just the way they are and I cannot bear to change them. But, I am down with reading Fem!Ed if there is a reason – like… gender reassignment. (See the aforementioned post). Or maybe Truth just likes to fuck with Ed. Idek.
So. On with the insanity:
So. For some reason, poor Edward Elric is a girl born in a boy’s body. Or maybe he’s just a boy who is more at home in the female shape. I don’t know okay. I’ve always been comfortable exactly as I am, and I’m not going to insult anybody by pretending that I know everything. The point is - Edward is not comfortable in his own skin. Edward knows that his body is somehow wrong. And he’s smart, and brilliant, and a goddamn whiz with Alchemy. And so is Al, who just wants Ed to be happy, no matter what.
So, crazy brilliant brightsparks that they are – with a supernova burning in place of a soul, and the universe in their eyes – they draw up a circle, and Ed goes before Truth.
Truth, of course, isn’t too happy at being faced with a tiny scowling boy who insists that he is a girl; but Truth does understand that sometimes bodies can be uncomfortable at best, and soul-destroying at the worst of times, and this insanely brilliant child is going to be the source of a shit-ton of entertainment for years to come.
So Truth helps.
For shits and giggles, because why not.
...
Trisha is… understandably puzzled. She went to bed the night before, a mother of two sons, and then woke up with a son and a daughter.
Um, what?
They are grounded. Of course they are. Origami cranes are one thing, but this? What were you thinking? You could have been rendered braindead, you could have blown up the house. Or the universe. You could have died!
It should be noted that Trisha ranks her kids’ lives above that of the universe continuing to turn, and reality not peeling apart at the seams.
As any mother rightly should.
...
Time passes, as it is wont to do, and Edward grows into a lovely young woman with a talent for mass destruction and reconstruction.
(although, it must be said that when puberty came rolling around, there were more than a few curses, and Ed had to be physically stopped from reopening the Gate in order to yell at Truth. Because Fuck you asshole!)
Officially, her name is Elizabeth on all the paperwork, but here’s the thing: Ed might be a girl now, but she never stopped being Ed. You can change your shape, but you can’t change who you are. And hell, Ed loves confusing the fuck out of people when she introduces herself as Edward.
[Teacher didn’t discourage this. If anything, she encouraged it.]
It becomes a joke – wherever she goes (and Al is with her, because in what universe would he not be? Don’t answer that. Because that probably means Al is dead in that universe and you can all go to hell before you hurt my little cinnamon roll), leaving chaos and destruction and generally uprooting tyrants for fun; leaving only the whispers of a red coat, long blonde hair and the names Edward and Alphonse Elric: Alchemist Extraordinaires’.
...
[Somewhere in the East, Roy Mustang is tearing his hair out trying to track down a pair of genius brothers. Here’s a hint: It’s not going so well.]
...
Now this? This is not love story for Roy and Ed, oh no. My weird ass dream is twisted, and somehow, I love it. Even though I don’t ship this…
So. It’s summer, and it’s bright, and Edward is now… what? Seventeen? Eighteen? Who cares? The point is, there’s a massive inter-village party going on, and alcohol is involved. She dances the night away, laughing madly the whole time and winds up going for a roll in the hay with a charming chap from two villages over who’s on leave from the military. Not her usual choice, but hey – he’s funny and he pulled out her chair for her, and calls her “ma’am”, and he made her laugh. He also turns out to be brilliant in the sack, so hey – Ed reckons she made a good choice of partner for the night.
She wakes up to a lazy grin, and work-roughened fingers gently teasing straw and dried grass out of her tangled mess of hair – because I’m not joking about the phrase ‘roll in a hay’. It’s round about then that she realizes she forgot to introduce herself, and so she holds out her hand, “Elizabeth,” She tells him. Because hey, he did good last night. He did more than good. She can play nice.
“Havoc,” He replies, shaking her hand, “Jean Havoc.”
Ed fucking laughs at him.
“What?” She asks, “You gonna tell me that you’ve got three brothers called Mischief, Chaos and Trouble?”
He laughs as well, and they’re both still laughing when they tumble over each other and go straight for round two.
...
On and off, the whole summer, these two wind up together. In bed, at dinner, just generally wandering about causing trouble. And then Havoc has to go back to work.
And dammit, Ed finds that she’s missing him. What the hell? Ed doesn’t do pining. She does quick flings, and moves the fuck on. But apparently not anymore.
Al figures it out before she does.
And then when she does, he sits her down and listens while she rants and raves, and curses Havoc out because she did not plan on falling in love. I mean, yeah, she’s got plans to be a Housewife someday, because Teacher was ah-mazing and all that – but no. She had not planned on marrying a military guy. Why would she? The military is E-vil. (And wow, Ed has no idea just how right she is there).
So Ed hmms over it for weeks and then she gets that stubborn look in her eyes, packs her bags, and scoots off down to East City because dammit, she’s getting married. Whether he likes it or not.
Al and Winry are cheering her on, and Trisha isn’t really sure what’s going on anymore.
(Yes, Trisha got ill and shit, but Ed got even more stubborn and kinda maybe might have been more interested in Alchemy and it’s healing properties in this ‘verse, and yeah, she paid a bit more attention when she met Truth. She doesn’t know it yet, but she gave something in trade to the Gate. There’s a reason she doesn’t have Daddy Issues here – she doesn’t even remember him. There’s nothing left to hate.)
...
Ed shows up in a hurricane of energy and barges her way back into Havoc’s life without so much as a by-your-leave. He’s not really complaining. Not even when she storms up to him in a bar when he’s out for a night with the boys, yanks him down by his collar, and tells him that they’re getting married.
“Um… Don’t I get a say in this?” He asks, blinking down at her. Her hair is a mess, and she’s breathing heavily from beating the tar out of a guy outside because he tried to put his hands where they weren’t welcome – but goddamn, she’s still the most beautiful thing Havoc’s ever seen, and in all honesty, his question isn’t so much a “no,” as a bemused “oh really now?”.
Ed straight up growls at him, and he laughs, scooping her up and tossing her over his shoulder.
“Oi! Breda!” He shouts down the bar, “Get your coat, I’m getting married.”
Breda chokes on his drink, and then he starts to laugh. “This I gotta see.”
...
So they get married in an office, with a half-sober Breda and some random person they grabbed off the street as witnesses.
Havoc’s collar is unbuttoned, he smells of beer and cigarette smoke. Ed is wearing jeans and a tank top, her hair is a tangled mess of gold and there’s dirt smeared on her left shoulder.
They don’t have any family members there, and Ed makes their rings out of her earrings and Havoc’s watch. But that’s okay. Trisha and Elaine can yell at their kids for eloping at a later date. And then ask about grandchildren in the next breath. Al will laugh himself sick, and Winry will demand to be Godmother when they get around to it.
Not that they plan to – I mean, practicing making the future babies is fun and all, but neither of them want kids just yet.
...
More time passes, and you know what? It works for them.
Ed is a freaking genius who sometimes gets so into her work that she forgets to eat or do the dishes, but that’s just fine because Havoc grew up on a farm where folk did whatever needed doing. So he cooks, and coaxes food into her. He washes dishes, and folds laundry, and he’s even brave enough to pull her away from her books for long enough to get her to sleep.
And then once she’s done with her bender, Ed spends days making it up to him. Because she’s a hundred percent the kind of person who gives stuff her all.
Havoc doesn’t understand one whit of what she’s doing, but hey, it makes her happy. He doesn’t need to know anything more than that.
The first time he accidentally catches sight of her notes over her shoulder, he thinks she’s going to kill him, because Alchemists are nothing if insanely secretive of their work.
But hey, no, not Ed. Not with her husband.
She smiles at him, and then yanks him down onto the floor next to her.
And then she starts explaining the basics to him.
Because here’s the truth. Ed’s been worrying over Havoc’s complete obliviousness to alchemic circles for a while now, especially seeing as he’s almost always on the team chasing the crazy (in a bad way) alchemists – and dammit, she wants him in one piece. So come hell or high water, she’s going to make sure he knows what is safe and what means he should be hightailing it out of there.
The next time he’s closing up a case with the team – a crazy wannabe alchemist had been messing with the structural integrity of a building, and was also apparently a complete and utter moron, because even he knows better than to use those two particular equations in conjunction together.
He says as much, and is treated to looks of utter amazement and disbelief from his teammates.
“What?” He asks, “I know stuff.”
Breda is sniggering behind his back, because unlike the others, he was there when Havoc married the crazy alchemist lady. Come to think of it… Breda might be the only one on the team who even knows that he’s married. Oops.
He really hopes that Hawkeye doesn’t shoot him for this.
So yeah, things go fine. Mostly.
Havoc learns when to run away from the crazies, and Ed wanders off with Al to save the world, or sometimes just turns entire cities on their heads by sticking her nose where she shouldn’t – see Youswell, Liore, ect…
And all the while, Mustang rages over the antics of the famous Elric Brothers.
It’s actually rather pathetic, and it takes Havoc a long time to put the pieces together.
He’s more than a little bit embarrassed to be honest.
Mustang is halfway through a rant on how Liore has descended into chaos – two raging factions; and Havoc’s eyeing the pin-board, feeling strung out and an odd sense of de ja vu.
Penny in the air?
Huh. Wasn’t Ed in Liore the week before last?
Penny drops.
Oh. Havoc thinks. Oh, shit.
He’s so used to her going by her legal name in public – because while Edward Elric writes alchemical papers and rescues kittens from trees, it’s Elizabeth Havoc who fails epically at knitting, burns scones and actually has a bank account – that he forgot (and wow, is she going to laugh herself sick tonight) that when she’s off gallivanting across the country with Al, she uses her birth name.
Son of a –
He’s been trying to track down his wife and brother-in-law the whole time.
The wife who sleeps in his bed, and the brother-in-law who camps out on their couch.
How is this even his life?
Ed does indeed laugh herself sick that night.
Mean.
He reckons that he should probably tell Mustang, if only to save Eastern Command from being set on fire the next time the Colonel loses his temper, but hey – Havoc likes living.
So he sleeps on it.
And he sleeps on it.
And he sleeps on it.
Eventually, Friday rolls around, and Ed is giving him that look – the kind that says ‘man up, or I’m buggering off to cause mass chaos and destruction without you,’ and so Havoc swallows his pride.
That day at work, he waits until Mustang is once again ranting on about the Elric Brothers, and then, carefully, warily, pipes up with: “So, um, Chief? I might have a lead.”
Mustang freezes, and then pivots.
Ack. He looks like he might breathe fire at any moment.
“What?”
Havoc gulps. And then he starts to fidget.
“Well, actually,” he admits, “it’s my wife that you’d be wanting to talk to, sir.”
Mustang looks at him like’s gone mental.
“You’re… married?”
“Yes?”
“She’s way too good for him,” Breda snickers, leaning back in his chair.
Mustang blinks, frowns, blinks some more, and then moves his mouth soundlessly for a few moments, clearly furious.
Then, finally, he grinds out a short command of “Call her.”
“Yes sir!” Havoc yelps, diving for the phone line and praying that Ed is at home.
She is.
And she’s more than happy to come down to Command and set the record straight.
She’ll even bring Al with her.
Havoc sort of wants to curl up into a ball and cry.
...
Ed glides into the office, all grace and charm, looking exactly as people would expect an innocent modern-day country housewife to appear. Her blonde hair is carefully braided up into a milkmaid’s style, and there’s a touch of flour dusting the hem of her peasant’s blouse.
Havoc feels like he’s in the twilight zone, because she’s even wearing makeup. Since when does his wild dustdevil of a wife wear makeup?
Al catches his eye and winks – he himself is dressed in neatly pressed clothes and sporting a pair of glasses (why? He doesn’t even need them for fucks sake?) and looks the textbook image of a wet-behind-the-ears scholar who probably couldn’t even find his way out of a paper bag.
“Mrs. Havoc,” Mustang smiles, offering her a seat, with his charm turned up to eleven.
“Hello,” Ed smiles, and there’s a devilsh look in her deceptively innocent topaz eyes, “Edward Elric, at your service.”
She sweeps into a genteel bow, and then gestures to Al.
“Alphonse Elric,” Al grins. “Nice to meet you.”
Havoc sorely wishes he’d called in sick that morning.
So… Okay. He’s probably going to die.
Mustang practically has a fit, and Hawkeye’s hand is on her gun, which means Havoc has to try really hard not to flinch.
Once he’s done making a series of choking noises that sound like a dying weasel, Mustang straightens his back, puts on his ‘the military wants you!’ face, and says: “Enlist.”
To her credit, Ed only blinks twice, before her mouth curls into a mischievous grin to anybody who knows her, and a dangerous snarl to the uninformed.
Al grins.
Havoc cringes.
“I,” Havoc’s wonderful Valkyrie of a wife thunders in a flawless imitation of her Teacher, “am a Housewife!”
Oh god. The look on Mustang’s face is priceless. He can’t help it.
Havoc starts to laugh.
BONUS:
Wondering why Father never managed to take over the world?
Funny story actually, Ed kinda might have just happened to be wandering by Briggs when Kimblee (the fucker) conned the Drachmans into attacking the fort, and hey, she kinda likes Amestris you know, being Amestris and not Drachma 2.0
So she drops a mountains worth of snow on them.
Funnily enough – carving a blood crest does not fucking work if all your victims die of air deprivation, or being crushed under several tons of ice and snow. Because, y’know, not enough blood being spilled and all.
Basically? The bad guys ran out of time – and it was all Ed’s fault, because no matter what they tried, she kept fucking up their plans by accident.
And then Honoheim owned their asses.
The End.
A fortunate encounter. New fic
I have far too many WIPs to count, but I’ve also have had a lot of bouts of inspiration lately and I have no self control so... yes, here’s another fic!
Summary: While escaping a group of enemy soldiers, Sherlock ends up in a mysterious island.
A Wonder Woman AU with fem!Sherlock and fem!John.
Tags: Wonder Woman AU / some spoilers perhaps (sort of)/ Romance/ First Meetings/ Genderbending/ Fem!Sherlock/ Fem!John
Preview
In retrospective, stealing an airplane was probably a bad idea.
Sherlock isn’t a bad pilot per se; she has had plenty of practice to be a decent one, even if she has never been properly taught. She’s smart though and so she figured out more or less how to fly the damn thing, although Mycroft had nearly had a heart attack when she found out what she had been up to.
None of that matters right now, though. While Sherlock might be a proficient pilot under regular circumstances, these are far from regular. She never expected anyone to notice the missing notebook for at least a couple of hours, giving her enough time to get far away.
A gross miscalculation, obviously.
She does her best to dodge the enemy bullets, but it’s only a matter of time before one of the cannons finally hits its mark. She can feel her heart beating erratically and that’s leaving her a little out of breath, but she tells herself she needs to focus if she wants to survive. Panicking won’t help one bit.
The heavy fog might shield her a little from the enemy’s aim, but it also reduces her own visibility, making flying through it more than a little risky. If she survives this, she swears to herself, she’ll never get involved in another mission as ridiculously dangerous as this one.
Several bullets finally hit the airplane’s gasoline tank and she curses as it begins its quick descent. The back of the plane is in flames now, almost reaching her, but she thinks the impact against the ocean water is a little more troubling. It’s unlikely she’ll survive the impact, but if by some miracle she does, it’s very likely her pursuers will catch up with her and that will just result in her death anyway.
A no win scenario, if she ever saw one.
Lilith
Title: Lilith Fandom: Blue Exorcist Summary: "I-," Rin speaks up again, her voice dripping with self-doubt. "I would have been a bad mother anyway." Yukio knows she's trying to lie to herself, it's so easy to make it out. He wants to disagree, he thinks his sister would have been a great mother- he's sure of it. But that won't ease her pain at all, right? Because the Order wouldn't give Satan's spawn the opportunity to sire more demons. Fem!Rin AN: Warning: Forced sterilization. If he's honest, Yukio would prefer it if his sister were crying. But his sister has never been that kind of person. She never cried in front of him, always leading him to believe nothing can get to her. She’s his big sister, powerful, strong, as solid as a rock.
He wonders what it says about him that he wants her to cry. Perhaps it is cowardly of him because facing a crying, an emotional Rin, is easier than facing her how she is now: silent, lying on her bed while staring up at the ceiling, one hand resting on her belly.
She's been like this for the past two hours, maybe longer. He's only gotten back home recently, missions keeping him away. Dinner had been made and he ate it in silence alone at the table. That should have tipped him off, if he's home, Rin always eats with him or drags herself out of bed to sit with him in the middle of the night.
If he's home that is.
He hasn't been there much recently, he hasn't been with her today. Father would scold him for it, just like he did when Yukio wanted to miss the special Sunday dinner his sister always makes in favor of studying.
Makes – made?
Does she still do that? He doesn't know. Father would be disappointed. He'd be here now too. He would have gone with Rin and tell her that everything will be fine and that the Vatican is made up by a bunch of dicks that can't see the child his sister still is.
He'd do all Yukio didn't do today.
He bites the insides of his cheeks, the report he should be writing long forgotten.
He can't make it worse, he thinks. Whatever he does, he can't make it worse, can he?
"Nee-san," he speaks up, his voice barely above a whisper.
He hates that his words sound like they used to. He still has the voice of a child afraid of the world and more.
"... yes?" The answer follows and Yukio curls his hand into a fist.
His sister sounds weak and frail like never before.
"Are you- do you-"
Are you okay? Do you want to talk about it?
Stupid questions, so, so stupid.
Of course he could make it worse, he just did, he’s still making it worse. His sister really had the worst luck, getting him as her brother.
"I-," Rin speaks up again, her voice dripping with self-doubt. "I would have been a bad mother anyway."
Yukio knows she's trying to lie to herself, it's so easy to make it out. He wants to disagree, he thinks his sister would have been a great mother- he's sure of it. But that won't ease her pain at all, right?
"I'd probably forget going to parents' day at school," Rin continues and Yukio wants to shout at the world.
"And my kid's food would be totally unhealthy. I'd forget to tell them about stranger danger too and don't help with their homework. I never was good at school anyway and I don't think True Cross is changing that."
Rin has set up now and reached for the tea Yukio has made hours ago. It's her favorite and cold by now. It won't taste anymore.
"And I wouldn't love them enough."
Yukio has spaced out, but those words pull him back. He turns around to his sister, fully facing her now. She's sitting on her bed, her jacket draped over her shoulders. She's wrapped her arms around herself and her shoulders are shaking.
She's crying, Yukio realizes. His strong, always smiling big sister is crying.
He has no idea what to do.
This is not what he imagined.
"I never wanted this, I didn't ask for this!" She's sobbing, looking far more vulnerable than Yukio thinks he's ever seen her.
The thing is, he understands the Order. They are afraid of her. She's powerful, the daughter of Satan. She's a good weapon. And that's all she's supposed to be, right? Fight for them until her death and when she's gone, they have one problem less.
They don't want her to become Lilith, raising an army of demons. They want a weapon that follows every order without any resistance.
What he does next isn't an action he'd call conscious. His sister is uncontrollably sobbing, letting those ugly tears run over her cheeks. And it's ugly, of course it is, crying isn't pretty, it's not supposed to be.
Crying is heartbreaking.
Yukio isn't sure for whose heart.
He walks over to her and sits down on her left. He puts his arm around her and starts to hum. It's been their secret for long, the humming, this song. Sometimes he thinks the words are in the tip of his tongue but they just don't come out. It used to be his sister and him, still small enough to fit into Yukio's bed together with one blanket protecting them against the world. She hummed this song again and again, calming him down and never recalling where she heard it.
He thinks it could have been their mother who sang it for them. He never follows that train of thought.
His sister calms down. She's still sobbing but not as much and the shaking has gotten better. Yukio isn't sure if he managed this, he'd like to think he can help.
He'd like to think that he alone can still fix all of this.
"Thanks, Yuki," she mutters, her voice hoarse.
Not from screaming, not from shouting, not from singing but from crying.
He hates it so, so much.
He doesn't know how he finds the words, but he does.
"I think you can be a good mother."
"Yeah?" She replies. Her voice is steadier. Good.
He has to keep talking.
"Mhm, you're fussing over me like a mother hen since... always actually. And you have to teach the next generation the Okumura Rin Special Day Menu."
At this she giggles. Yukio isn't a disaster in the kitchen, but he isn't anywhere near Rin's skill. She has tried teaching him before, their father too and the rest of the monastery, but they all failed spectaculary.
"They have to be twins," Rin continues the conversation. "A troublemaker and the built in playmate."
"I'm not a built in playmate," he replies dryly, but there's a smile on his face. They've had this discussion so many times already, it's good to have it again. It means things are going up again.
"Pretty names like Amara and- and maybe Kōshirō?"
She carefully looks at him, as if she'd want his approval. He thinks about their father and how he'd probably be amused. It would be nice to keep his name around somehow. And Yukio doesn't think he'll ever have children. If he's honest, he doesn't think he'll make it last twenty.
"They sound good," he replies and she cheers up. It doesn't fix things but at least Rin starts to talk. She keeps going, describing how she would go about the parenting situation. She has this worked out better than their father probably never had. Then again Rin and Yukio weren't exactly planned.
Rin trails of, her voice fades.
"But that won't happen anyway, so why bother?" She mutters and Yukio knows he has to fix this.
He will. There isn't another option. There never were many options in his life.
"This will be over someday," he promises, not giving her a time or an explanation on this, but he thinks she understands him anyway.
"And then we will see. The Vatican won't go after you anymore, they won't dare to, and-"
Yukio considers stopping there for a moment. It is after all classified information for a reason.
But he didn't become an exorcist for them, did he?
He just wants to protect his family, what is left of it. That's the reason he has to be the strongest, he can't protect if he's weak.
Yukio doesn't stop talking.
"There are a lot of children like you- like us."
There are.
Many half demons, half humans, don't make it far in life. Demons don't raise children and the humans usually don’t want their cursed child. And if they do, they can't protect them. Split race children usually don't make it past eight, the oldest he has encountered was 16 and dying. There was no balance in their body, they were killing themselves.
The Vatican didn't help rogue mixed children either.
"They need a home."
And Rin understands. He knows she does, she sees it in the way her blue eyes sparkle and ideas come to life.
Maybe he isn't a horrible brother. Maybe he can do at least some things right.
Thanks for reading! The reason I wrote this? Mostly being annoyed by the lack of good genderbend fanfics. They all don’t seem really realistic to me, especially in cases like Rin here whose existence already angers the majority. Do you really think the Order would actually leave just the possibility open of her having kids? Nope. Then there’s also the fact that you could possibly draw parallels to Lilith. That was Adam’s first wife, who ran away and had children with a demon that then got killed by angels – short version. And since sexism is a thing and some Catholic priests actually do believe that women’s roles are raising children, well, I think the whole sterilization makes more sense if Rin’s a girl. (The priest in the church I went to is pretty chill though. Told him I’m pansexual and he was like “that’s okay. Some might say it’s not but the church is stupid sometimes” so please don’t go hating the whole institution now. The current pope is pretty cool too.) Yukio’s POV because I’ve always wanted to write him and try out this slightly more broken writing style. Time line wise this would be set just before the Kyoto Arc.
