House's addiction to misery is really heartbreaking but also something that is so important to me

I think that he doesn't want any semblance of happiness because being high on feel-good hormones opens him up to being hurt (again)

It's so much easier to hurt others, so much easier to not allow himself that happiness - because happiness is vulnerability and something people can use to hurt him

And so he hides behind this air of idgaf and hurts everyone around him in the process, and it makes me feel so so sad
