the belief that fish are a cheap & easy pet basically one step above a plant is so pervasive and i just dont understand it. you are putting an aquatic animal in an artificial environment in your home. "all they need is water and food, its just a fish!". do you think the only thing in the sea or a lake is clean tap water? youre just a primate, how bout i put you in a transparent box with one tree branch and feed you mashed bananas every day?
