would love to hear about your vampire!!!
!! I would love to talk about her! Her name is Meredith Talion, she's a 12th generation Tremere from my city in France, and once I finish her sheet & backstory I'm going to be playing her in my first VtM game. She was a biology student and she was embraced after her thesis presentation caught her sire's eye (both the science and her appearance & vibe.) She's a passionate, sociable and curious person, which worked quite well for her in life but is going to be causing her some issues in death. She's aroace because she's the VtM version of a vampire OC I've had for years who's kind of a self insert and I'm aroace, which explains the comments on drinking menstrual blood. For now, my friend's character's goals are lowering his generation and seducing the oldest vampire lady he can find, so Meredith is going to be following him and doing some unethical experiments along the way (and also maybe drag him to Vienna if the stars align, since that's her big goal right now.) I wish I had more stuff to say but I haven't played her yet so there really aren't any stories to tell haha. If you want to see what she looks like, here's the quick sketch I did of her VtM version, and here's the general Meredith tag on my artblog, which is mostly canon, "normal" Meredith, but it's still fundamentally the same person.

I'm in a Meredith and Cécilia mood right now so uh random stuff about them, I might have said some of those already but I love them okay
- Cécilia always puts things down right there after she's done using them and then promptly forgets about them, which is inconvenient in general but especially so when you have a cat that likes to knock things off surfaces at home. She's had to repair so many mugs and plates and glasses with her magic. I imagine it looks a bit kintsugi-ish, with those like veins of gold in the cracks
- sometimes Cécilia goes to Meredith's room to sleep. Sometimes Meredith joins her in bed, sometimes she doesn't and stays awake the whole night. On rare occasions they sleep together in Cécilia's room. In general they sleep alone in their own rooms, but sometimes you want to snuggle with someone you know?
- Meredith doesn't actually need to eat so she doesn't really cook even though she can. She helped Cécilia with that at the beginning, because she wasn't good at cooking at all and Meredith took pity on her, but generally she doesn't make any meals. Cecilia will be the one eating them, she can cook and do the dishes. They do do the groceries together generally, but that's about it for Meredith's involvement. She buys takeout sometimes though, and she prepares things if she's invited people over.
- Meredith has a top or two she "stole" from Raphaël (it's like a t-shirt and a tunic and he gave them to her) when she moved out, they're too big for her and they look really out of place in her wardrobe but she loves wearing them at home. Whenever they get a little too old and beat up and threaten to tear she gets them repaired by a mage, they're decades old now. Cécilia exchanged an item of clothing/accessory with her close friends at magic school after graduation, which means there's a dusty pink t-shirt, a pair of delicate earrings and a jean jacket in her wardrobe that weren't hers originally. She loves them very much even though she doesn't wear them with the same frequency or in the same circumstances.
- Meredith's friends, at some point, aged and settled down and had kids... But they still wanted to see her, so she spent some time around kids, and she's even a kind of weird aunt to maybe one or two whose parents she stayed pretty close with.
- I don't know how they do the holidays, but I think Cécilia meeting Meredith's parents and vice-versa would be funny so it happened. Meredith's parents are very much the supportive-but-doesn't-get-it type, so they interpret their relationship as girlfriends, which isn't wrong but isn't really right either. It's for a week and they're not weird about it so it doesn't really bother either of them. I don't know about Cécilia's parents yet though
- one time coming home from a fancy party they got ready for bed in Meredith's room, and watching Meredith take off her dress in the light of the bedside lamp Cécilia was struck by a big powerful mix of "oh. I love her (platonic). I love being here right now. She's beautiful. I wouldn't change this for anything in the world." And then they kissed about it <3 well no actually, then Cécilia stopped unbuttoning her dress or something and Meredith turned around and asked her if everything was okay. And THEN they kissed about it. (this is me liking soft domesticity in case that wasn't obvious. they're comfortable together and domestic okay)
- they moved in together in early-mid summer. Meredith's birthday is august 20, and she doesn't really broadcast it anymore, because it still somewhat depresses her, so she doesn't go around organising a party for it or anything (her friends do it for her anyway) That means Cécilia didn't know, but for her birthdays are important, in her family they order fancy cake and they do presents and it's a celebration and all. So when one of their mutual friends (the one that got them to be roommates probably) off-handedly mentioned it, like "btw you're not coming to Meredith's birthday party tonight? I know [whoever planned it] doesn't have your contact info or anything so maybe you didn't know it's happening?" she was like "oh no :( I missed her birthday! That's not cool. I didn't do anything for her :( " and then she made her biscuits and tea and left that for her to find when she'd come home with a little note. Meredith came back home at like 2 in the morning tired and happy and saw the little plate with patterned biscuits and the still steaming mug and she was soo touched
- and then Cécilia was invited to her next birthdays obviously. For her 50th there were lots of people it was big and fun, I imagine Raphaël came back from his island with merpeople plus her childhood friends who could make it and all. She likes people what can I say, her ideal birthday party includes a big crowd!
- the ship name is Merilia. They're not romantically dating, or are they, but they're not really, but maybe a little depending on the vibe, but you shouldn't consider that to be the default, but it still works sometimes - anyway they're not really an actual ship in the conventional way. But. If there was a ship name. Merilia. It's their nicknames mashed together in a ship name way, Meri + Cilia, all that. They're more like queerplatonic partners and roommates though.
- Meredith, by virtue of being old, has my dad's music tastes but skewing towards the things I like, that is to say old stuff and new stuff and a love for stuff where people scream and weird songs that stretch the limits of what is music and classics but the good ones and good elaborate lyrics. She likes musicals though because she has taste. Cécilia is torn, because love songs are very good grand gestures of love and that's terribly romantic, which she likes, but people bursting into song all the time feels weird, so she only likes a select few ones.
- Cécilia likes the idea of doing romantic shit like little post it notes and buying flowers (she learnt some bits of flower language just for it) and breakfast in bed and wearing nice lingerie and cute gifts just because you thought of them, but she's bad at actually remembering to do it. She thinks it's adorable and fantastic and she's been daydreaming about that since she was a teen but every time she was in a relationship it never actually came. She never felt like she wanted to do all of those because she was deeply enamored with the other person, at best sometimes she'd think about it but it was more for the idea of it than to do something for her partner. Since Meredith isn't actually expecting any romantic gesture because they're not dating and she doesn't need it or anything that works out well, so sometimes Cécilia will get her a bouquet if she remembered or something.
- sometimes while Meredith is experimenting with some potions stuff in her room Cécilia will join her and read (books about magic, about a skill she's trying to pick up, fiction) and they'll just vibe in the same room for a while. They make little comments out loud sometimes and then go back to focussing on their own thing.
- Cécilia has hooves so she does the hooves equivalent of washing your hands every time she gets into someone's house. That's it that's the point.
- Cécilia runs hot and likes colder weather, Meredith runs cold and prefers warmer temperatures. In the summer Cécilia tries to touch her more because she's cold but she doesn't like it because she's hot and it's already hot enough, and in the winter it's the opposite (it's a friendly, pretend dislike though, they still like hug and cuddle and all it's just for the principle of the objection)

I still haven't properly written a post on any of my OCs except Meredith and Cécilia but honestly, do I need to provide context and explain what's going on with them? Is it not enough that I'm thinking about my OCs and I love them? Yeah.
So! Right now I'm thinking about Meredith's "vampire mentor" of sorts, who's just an old vampire she lived with for a few years. I finally decided he was going to be a guy but in honour of me hesitating for so long, he has a best friend named the same who's also a vampire and they're insufferable if you put them in the same room. They're both named Raphael (or, well, Raphaëlle for his friend, but it's pronounced the same) and they're like an elderly married couple except they're best friends. Raphael is into models, like airplanes and boats and towns and stuff, because my grandpa likes models so that's a very grandpa-like activity to me and that's the vibes I'm trying to give him. My brain is insisting on Qui-Gon vibes because I want to give him longer hair and a beard and his role is basically Meredith's vampire mentor, so I'm trying to not go full-on "it's Qui-Gon but less cool" because nope and I have to mitigate it somehow. The models help I think. He wears turtlenecks too, that's probably where Meri got it from. I just thought of making Raphaëlle a tiefling-demon-thingie as well as a vampire because those are just so fun to design but I don't have one of those who's also vampire, but maybe that would be weird? She's still very vague in my mind. I also can't decide if they see each other once every two year or if they have weekly hangouts, maybe periods of both? I know after she moved out Meredith spoke way less with Raphael because he went to live... somewhere else to do something I'm still not clear on? but he was totally there for her 50th birthday, and that's where he met Cécilia because she was there too of course. How did they get along? Well he would need a definite personality for that :')) I'm trying to give him huge grandpa vibes but I so rarely see mine that really I'm not sure what to do for that. Meredith isn't the first vampire he "mentored", I think there probably was at least another flatmate who was in the same position of "the person who turned me isn't going to teach me how to vampire properly and I'm lost help please" who lived with them. He would have to have a super nice flat in Travia then huh. I also imagine he's got money because I don't like thinking about how my characters handle that mostly, but he's in the vague category of "he's got quite a lot of money". I could make him from an aristocratic family or something, that would be fun. He meets Cécilia, maybe he mentions his great great grandniece or whatever, and Cécilia bluescreens for a second because she knows that girl, they had tea parties together! Oh yeah. Oh he's going to be Melanie's great great uncle or whatever, that's excellent. "That's too much of a coincidence" shhhh I do what I want with my characters.
(Melanie is a light blue demon-thingie with some parts of her skin that are discoloured? She's a childhood friend of Cécilia's she kinda stopped talking to after she went to her magic-boarding-school, but they do have some catch-up sessions once in a while, over tea of course. That means she has humans in her ancestry, though further than Cilia)
Rich with noble roots and into models isn't a personality though, so hmmm. I'll say he's nice, he likes his little habits and routines, he's probably meticulous - oh and I wanted to make a doctor! That also gives him another reason to have money. He probably vibes with Meredith because they both like people. Is it obviously I have problems creating characters? I wasn't kidding when I said Meredith and Cécilia are by far my most developed OCs haha. I can't project on every OC though, that would make them much too similar :') though I do make them mostly aroace unless they're supposed to have a partner. Most of the time I can't be bothered to think about attraction I don't feel :'))
But he was 100% there when Meredith had her "oh no all my friends are going to die" realisation. He probably caused it actually, he was talking about his great great niece or something and she was hit by a "oh no. Oh no everyone's gonna leave me behind but even worse this time." He doesn't have a huge place in my mind so I didn't include him in my vision of Meri, and so she probably doesn't talk about him that much, but she still mentions him, because he was a flatmate for a good while and he helped her a lot. He also probably knows Alex's uncle who adopted a mer girl and lives in the islands I put at the top of my map, and I imagine that's where he went when he stopped living in Travia?
(Travia is the city Meredith, Cécilia and most of my other OCs live in. The name comes from the Tara Duncan french book series (that I do not recommend to anyone past 12 to) but I know Sophie Audoin-Mamikonian isn't going to sue me for that or anything so I'm keeping it. It's in the "mostly humans" country, in the middle-north, and it's one of the big cities of that country, but not the biggest nor the capital. Alex is one of my main OCs, he has a huge family, I'm writing a thing on him and his two partners that'll get posted... Someday. He doesn't live in Travia but in another big city more in the south of the same country. The other place that clearly exists in my mind is the city Cécilia and Mercure and Silas and everyone else's magic school is near, it's somewhat modeled on Saint-Malo in Brittany. It's on the seaside, not too big but not small, at the north of the country, near the border with the "mostly demon-thingies" country, which is why Cécilia went to school there. The unnamed magic school doesn't have a name yet, it's a good magic school, one of the not-that-many in the world since magic is rare-ish and not everyone goes to school for it. Since it's on the seaside it's also one of the magic schools that has the most mer students. Alex's partner Laëlia has a little sister named Ophelia who goes to a different magic school more in the south with her best friend.)
Okay, well that was fun! I love putting my thoughts down actually, expect more rambles like this as I get out of my "don't be cringe" mindset :) I'll also be trying to draw more of my OCs, so maybe that'll be coming soon? I can certainly draw a little Melanie, I love that girl even if she doesn't have a personality. Also, if you've noticed anything that's a bit wonky, that's normal because I like being organised in my head but only on certain things and I bend the rules when my ideas are cool :)

I have never made a post before but you know what. It's my blog! If I want to talk about my OCs what better place than here? This is going to be very indulgent and potentially cringe, so to the 3 followers who see this, beware :')
My main OCs are undoubtedly Meredith and Cécilia. Meredith was my first real OC, and Cécilia was my DND character before we stopped the campaign, at which point I put her with my other OCs. Like all my OCs, they don't really have stories, they just exist in my head so I can make them cuddle and smooch if I feel like it :)
Meredith Talion is a kind and trusting but extremely clumsy vampire and an alchemist/potioneer. She has a talent for, well, potion making and loves all kinds of manual hobbies even if she isn't particularly good at them. Her cat Theo forces her to be tidy to avoid him making a mess, and she has natural jealous tendencies. She's deeply scared of being left alone, both because she's aroace in an amatonormative society and because as a vampire she's bound to outlive a lot of her friends.
Cécilia de la Verpillière is an ambitious tiefling/demon-thingie and can use magic. Her two big goals in life since she was a kid have been to become the coolest most powerful mage possible, and to find the love of her life to live the perfect romance with, though she's had to revise that last one when she realised she was aromantic. She likes studying and reading in general, has a lot of opinions on tea and tends to leave messes in her path. Hardworking and bright, she can however be snooty because of her noble roots.
They were both looking for a place and a common friend (Silas!) put them in contact. Their flat-sharing started out a bit awkward and cold, since they didn't know each other, had somewhat different cycles and Cécilia doesn't naturally talk to people much. They do have arguments, notably over Cécilia leaving cups and pretty much any object she uses over every surface possible when they have a cat, or Meredith often bringing a lot of her friends home, but they're good friends and got into a queerplatonic relationship somewhere along the way :)
More miscellaneous "headcanons" include:
Meredith will go as a +1 for her friends to almost any occasion that requires one; she met Silas to one such party his parents attended; she has a section of her closet dedicated to fancy dresses; she definitely has a favourite blood type but I haven't quite decided which one yet, and she wouldn't get to drink it too often, because she eats (drinks?) mostly potions anyway; she was bitten without her consent by a guy in her hometown (Armand) and while he thinks he was right and hopes she will use the hundreds of years he's added to her lifespan to see he would make a perfect partner, she doesn't even want to think about him, for obvious reasons; normal food isn't nutritious to her but she still eats it in small quantities sometimes (and in accordance with the cliché, she does love both garlic bread and cake); she is both sex and romance neutral; she's had her own potion shop for years
Cécilia went to a as-of-yet-unnamed prestigious Magic School on the seaside, where she was in the same year as most of my other OCs who can do magic, and notably her friends Leander and Estelle; she spent her whole adolescence reading romance and was very disappointed when she realised the butterflies in the stomach weren't going to happen for her; her favourite things to do with magic are household chores and anything fire-related, respectively for the convenience and for the style of it; all my tieflings/demon-thingies have some kind of special physical thing that can be hereditary or not: hers are that her bodily fluids are darker, for a joke where she cries black tears and it makes Meredith freak out, and that she can see in the dark; despite her night vision, she was scared of the dark her whole childhood, and still is at times; she hasn't lived with her parents full-time since she was 14 but still gets "homesick"; she learnt flower language hoping to put it to good use with the Love of her Life™, though she just ends up buying miscellaneous bouquets for Meredith and her other friends; she's doing an apprenticeship with her city's mage; she loves calligraphy
I probably have more stuff in my head but this seems like a good start :) next time in "Ram rambles about her OCs", you can expect either the Thrio or Korcha and her (ex) padawans!
