Thank you so much for being patient with me for all the VAZZROCK stuff~! Man, real life has been such a pain, but I’m so happy that I can finally de-stress with something that I really enjoy doing for myself~! (Which is just drowning myself in TsukiPro and things that I like-- Moriarty, mostly XD)

Been having a taste for sickfics recently so! When 1/2 of Ishimondo is sick, how do they handle it and what does the other do to help?

Despite being a massive workaholic, I don't think that Taka would insist on going to class while sick. He would hate to spread sickness. It would hinder the education of other students! Taka would never do something like that!

So Taka doesn't try to go to class, but that doesn't mean he actually rests. He gets all his work brought to him at the end of the day and, if possible, has one of his classmates take notes for him.

He spends almost all day studying, just like he'd do on any other day where he didn't have classes. Taka can't stand the thought of just wasting the day away doing nothing, so whenever he does have the energy to work on his studies, he does as much as possible to make up for lost time.

Taka used to be way worse about it as a child. Takaaki had to keep a watch out for any sign of illness in his son, because Taka would never willingly mention being ill. He wouldn't lie about it or anything, but he would do everything in his power to make it go unnoticed.

Taka didn't want to miss classes. He already struggled to maintain his straight A's; what if he missed something vital and fell behind? The bullying also didn't help matters. Whenever he was forced to stay him, he'd always return to teasing. Either students would bemoan his return, or he'd be accused of faking illness to skip class. Occurrences like that only made Taka more determined not to miss days at school.

There are very few times Taka has ever willingly broken a rule, but during illness as a child was probably one of them. Takaaki's gone most of the day, leaving early in the morning and returning late at night. It's not terribly hard to just...go to school, even if Takaaki insisted he didn't.

Takaaki thinks he should find it funny that he has to worry about his son refusing to miss classes, because how many parents have that concern? He would think it's funny, until he gets a call about Taka passing out at recess with a high fever.

Taka is nothing if not stubborn, so while it's clear he feels bad about disobeying his father, it's just as clear that he thinks going to school was the right thing to do. Which is why Takaaki brought up the fact that, by going to school sick, Taka risked the health of all the other students as well.

That finally got Taka to listen. Takaaki's still working on getting him to actually rest when he's sick at home however

Okay, detour over.

Anyway, Mondo's absolutely not having any of his boyfriend's stubbornness. Usually he loves how passionate Taka is. But when that passion leads Taka to neglecting his health? Nope, no freaking way.

Mondo does his best to accommodate Taka's academic concerns. He gets Chi to record each lesson so Taka can watch them back and take notes. He gets extensions for all of Taka's homework. Heck, he even covers Taka's duties as class rep and hall monitor as much as possible.

And in turn, he tries to get Taka to do as little work as possible. Because when you're sick you're supposed to rest damnit! Bro don't test him, Mondo will drag Taka to bed if the boy refuses to rest. Mondo will make Taka surprisingly decent chicken noodle soup and Taka WILL eat it and rest. It's the most aggressive caretaking you've ever seen.

(Mondo's just a little bit paranoid. Just a little. He already had one person he love die; he won't let it happen to another)

And Mondo? Honestly no better than Taka. He won't go to school or do his homework while sick. He doesn't feel like doing it half the time anyway, why would he bother when he feels like trash?

But for something he really cares about, like his gang? Mondo will not skip out on it. He doesn't care how bad his headache is, he is the leader of the Crazy Diamonds, he's not going to wimp out because of a little cold. And anyone who even dares imply that he looks sick is asking for trouble.

...Well, anyone but Taka. Takemichi has Taka on speed dial for whenever Mondo's being a freaking moron, and he will not hesitate to call him. And once Taka realizes that Mondo isn't taking care of himself? Mondo's in for an earful.

The fact that Taka isn't part of the gang makes it easier to listen to him. Because yeah, Mondo's close with his members. But he has an image he's got to keep up with them. He can't show weakness, because there's no room for that in the Crazy Diamonds.

But Taka? He's not part of that lifestyle. There's no danger in Mondo admitting to Taka that he feels like trash, because Taka won't think that damages his image as a biker whatsoever. And knowing that Taka won't judge him for weakness makes it easier to accept that he should probably rest.

Speaking of resting, I feel like Mondo gets some of his aggressive caretaking from Daiya. Because you know that Mondo was the worst when it comes to being sick as a kid.

When he was younger, Mondo had even more pressure to prove himself as strong, because he was constantly being compared to his brother. So if he got sick, he just knew what kinds of comments he'd get from the gang. Oh poor little Owada! If ya can't hang with us, maybe you should just run home and take a little nap!

So Mondo was stubborn as hell about refusing to rest, insisting on riding with the gang even when he was coughing up a storm. Which meant Daiya had to practically drag the boy to bed and lock his bike in the garage. Daiya loves his brother, and he's not going to let pass out while riding or something because he's stupidly stubborn.

So in conclusion: both are bad, but could and have been worse in the past. Mondo's probably the less troublesome of the two, since it only takes one call from Taka to get him to calm down. Wrangling Taka away from his homework is a full time job.
