People who enjoy neighbourly shenanigans on Hermitcraft! May I recommend False and Ren:

They’ve got lore (Demise 2, Minister stuff, Big T), infrastructure (rivers and helping out with each other’s bases), lots of pranks and shenanigans (both pranking each other and other hermits)

They twaddle and hang out at each other’s bases so much. False’s second channel FalseLive is filled with vods of her and Ren just hanging out. Like there’s sooo much stuff of them to binge (and more to come because they will inevitably collab again)

They pretty much end up near each other at some point in every season so they’re a reliable duo if you get invested in them. They were neighbours in HC6, started out neighbours in HC9 then did Blue River Raceway with Etho, and they’re sticking close by each other in HC10

All their storylines are so wholesome and cute :3 The famous MCC9 Blue Bats (which is their favourite shared moment), Ren getting the final kill in Demise 2 for False, Ren saying he cannot think of a more worthy winner for BRR, False’s Minister of Transport sign being the only one that remained after the Ren explosion slash execution, Ren giving False a multipass to her base, and on it goes

Shared motifs: winning things, races, crowns / royalty stuff, rivers / ravines (HC6 ravine neighbours, HC9 river raceway, HC10 Big Business rivers), flowers (Ren seems to love throwing flowers at False? Like that time he prank spammed her base with flowers. And of course gifting False her fav Minecraft flower for her birthday :3)

Ren hasn’t been in a MCC team with False after 2021 but MCC has always been their thing (Ren saying he’ll only play when on a team with False, False saying she misses Ren and going “where’s my teammate 🥺”)

Sometimes in the middle of their episodes, they’ll have a short segment of them pranking the other’s base. There’s no explanation or connection. It is what it is.

So yeah they’re really funny and sweet together :3 I also like how they work on builds and infrastructure together, it’s satisfying watching them come up something on the fly and then they somehow make their madness into reality

It's called A Wheel Inside A Wheel by natsinator. It's a role reversal AU for the scifi novel/anime series Legend of the Galactic Heroes.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes is sprawling, politics-driven space opera about a war between an authoritarian, imperial empire and an increasingly corrupt democracy. The empire side of the story centers on an rising star commander named Reinhard, who aims to overthrow the Kaiser in order to create a truly just regime. The democracy side of the story centers on national hero Yang Wenli-- a pacifist, aspiring historian who is stuck in the military through both circumstance and, unfortunately, being really good at his job.

This AU proposes an "alternate" history where Reinhard lives in the democracy and Yang lives in the empire. It's very good and maintains both the source material's dense political and militaristic machinations while also juggling an expansive ensemble cast of characters.

I think you can read this without knowing the source material, but I highly recommend getting into it anyway. I watched the 1988's OVA series last summer and went clinically insane. Is the story very opaque and filled with (allegedly) 500+ named characters? Yes. It never got dubbed, so it turns into a lot of reading. Does it also have an intriguing plot bolstered by a bunch of iconic characters? Oh my god, yes. You will get so wrapped up in watching the story unfold and wanting the best for all the principal characters. You can watch the entire series for free on the Internet Archive.

There is also a 2018 remake that is still ongoing. I only started it recently, and it's not bad. However, in its pursuit of brevity, it also gets Reinhard and Yang, the beating hearts of the series, wrong. I guess they're in character, but the nuances that make them lovable and make you root for both of them are gone. Honestly, if there was in-universe propaganda about either character, this show would be it. You can watch it on crunchyroll.

So yeah. Please get into this. I am chewing my arm off. If I think about Yang Wenli for more than 2 seconds, I enter a wall-staring vortex that lasts for ~20 minutes

Sorry, I removed the name from your ask because I don't want to advertise those clowns.

No, I don't think any random team of obscure internet pundits can impact DD's film or reputation.

HOWEVER I think it's important for fans to understand that some of the projects GG and DD are involved with, once they have an international release, are going to come under heavy critique from some people (just as projects, ideas and stories from the West are often heavily critiqued in China). These two regions are constantly at odds with each other and often treat each other as their #1 enemy.

There is also a huge amount of Sinophobia in the West, and that will always color how Chinese projects are received.

There is also the fact that many of these projects are propagandistic in nature and present things in a certain light, and/or serve a bigger communications purpose than entertainment alone. There is a political angle, a messaging angle, that we should be conscious of when viewing such projects.

Born to Fly is a perfect example of this, given its subject matter as a military propaganda film. The planes featured in the film are the same ones that have been harassing and threatening Taiwanese airspace for months.

Turtles should be prepared to see this film ripped apart in Western media. It's just the way things are fairly likely to go.

Would that negatively impact DD's reputation or career? I highly doubt it. Those who are savvy to the political situation will understand that DD is operating within a system that is outside his control, and he has a right to star in a film about his country's military just as Tom Cruise has a right to star in that unwatchable dreck, Top Gun Maverick.

Those who aren't savvy are often bigoted or misinformed, and nothing DD or any other Chinese person could do would ever be acceptable to them. Their opinions don't matter.

The main factor likely to impact DD's reputation with most international film-goers is whether the film is any good. Is it fun to watch, does it tell an interesting story, are the characters compelling? Does DD give a good performance, even if all those other elements are weak or lacking, and even if the entire project is politically offensive to Western audiences?

I have faith in DD's talent and commitment, but a film is a team project. If the direction is bad, if the script is bad, if the production is bad, no amount of talent or skill on DD's part will save it.

DD is an actor. Every actor takes risks when choosing projects. Every actor is subject to the whims and interests of audiences. Some reviews will be bad, some will be good. We need to accept that and just support him as best we can.

Turtles need to develop a thick skin and understand that the more famous GG and DD become - the more they are placed in front of broader audiences - the more criticism they will inevitably face. Having one's performances and projects ripped to shreds is just part of being an actor. Everyone should prepare themselves ahead of time, and understand that not everyone is going to love them or love their projects as much as you or I might.

And in this particular case, any criticism will likely be about politics, and will have very little to do with DD as a person or as an actor.

Hopefully the movie will be good and will be well-received. If it's not, don't take it personally or allow yourself to be rattled by it. DD will be just fine. This is just one film among many he will make.

The next one to be released after Born to Fly is One and Only - a film I suspect will be much more accessible/palatable to international audiences. So even if Born to Fly is heavily critiqued internationally (and we don't yet know how that's going to play out so there's no sense worrying about it), any stain on DD will likely be short lived.

I'd also caution fans not to get an inflated sense of the importance of international audiences to DD's career. It's the Chinese audiences that will have the real impact. International audiences for a project like this are miniscule compared to those within China. Chinese audiences are the ones who will be determining DD's success or failure as a film star.

what are your top five video games?

Had to think hard about this since I am objectively bad at video games and haven’t played many. However, they hold such a dear place in my heart that I feel qualified to make a top 5 list:

Minecraft- No surprise there seeing as it’s the only game here the I have/can actually play. Grew up with it all around me, not only from youtube but because it’s been my dad’s favorite game since it’s beta (guess who got me into hermitcraft and third life lmao). Shout out to the Vault Hunters mod pack for being the best ever. My vh propaganda will never cease.

Splatoon 3- Was considered not included this, let alone putting it this high, until a vid about brella buffs in patch notes released and I was hyped as hell. So yeah it’s here. It’s such a good game, easy to watch and understand, and is not afraid to be uniquely itself (considering it’s a nintendo ip). Will always boast the fact that I predicted N-ZAP becoming meta during release. I tried to play it once… I don’t know how to use a controller lmao.

Street Fighter 6- I originally heard about it because of the cast’s elevated character designs and was intrigued. Pro tip: if you ever want to get into a game franchise, watch other people’s reactions to character/gameplay trailers. The amount of second hand serotonin I’ve felt from the sf community, devs finally listening to the player base and giving them a game centered around having fun instead of the competitive scene, is unreal. The visuals are stunning and easily recognizable/understandable for someone who has never set foot into the fighting game genre.

Needy Steamer Overload (Needy Girl Overdose)- Never understood why people held video game soundtracks so highly until this popped onto the scene. THE SOUNDTRACK ABSOLUTELY BANGS. Someone did drum covers for some of the songs and they are just so good. The game itself is no joke either and is so fascinating on a visual and psychological level. It’s a psychological horror steamer sim for a reason. My number one game recommendation for any streamer to play. 🙏BLESS🙏

Kirby: Planet Robobot and The Forgotten Land- I LIED I HAVE PLAYED THIS ONE I FORGOT ABOUT KIRBY. It’s Kirby! What more can I say? Both are on here cause idc it’s my list they’re both incredible games. If you like traditional Kirby games, play robobot. If you don’t like them, play Forgotten Land.

A Very Important Message:

Hey everyone, this is Muggle speaking and I wanna give out a very important message:

For those who don’t know, recently a Miraculous fan from the Latin American community took their own lives due to receiving harassment and bullying online. This person was stated to be a fan of Lila and even found her to be sympathetic and relatable. Now I know that in itself is controversial, especially if you have watched the show since the beginning and have studied and viewed Lila’s behavior, but that is not what we’re talking about. What we’re talking about is that this person was badly harassed, bullied, and made fun of so much by the Miraculous fandom so much that they ended up losing their own life because people refused to accepted their different opinion. This person’s family, friends, and even partner lost a child, a friend, a possible future spouse, and I’m upset that no one wanted to talk about it with the exception of a few fans, and this made me want to bring up the topic on why I’d made this blog in the first place.  

Not before I begin into details about the reasons why I made this blog, I do wanna point out that the obvious elephant in the room: 

Yeah, I’m pissed off and upset that this happened. A possible young person passed away due to how badly the fandom treated them over a controversial opinion. Go figure. Why wouldn’t I be? This person didn’t do anything wrong except have a different opinion involving a cartoon show. There was no harm being done, no one was getting hurt, all they were saying that they liked Lila; and if this doesn’t show how fucking bad and shitty that the fandom, the show’s fanbase has become in the last 7 fucking years it has been airing, I don’t know what to tell you because this is just heartbreaking and frustrating to explain. Want more detail, go to my main blog @muggle-born-princess where I explain it on under the tags “ml salt”  because it is there. The whole story is there. 

It's really sad to see how far a show, a fanbase, a cartoon that is meant to be mainly for kids of all people has gone too far and has promoted itself to be pro-bullying propaganda! That it is teaching the wrong message that liking the mean girls is wrong because if they can't redeem, then clearly their fans can't! 🙄 I really hope Thomas or Jeremy or someone on the Miraculous team; hell even a voice actor from the team speaks up and explains to the fandom have far they have gone.

My condolences go out to the fan's family, friends, and their significant other. 🙏❤️🕯️

Now that's out of the way, let's talk about why I made this blog in the first place that can correlate with what happened.

For those who don't know, I made this blog out of dedication to those who loved either Chloé as Queen Bee or Zoé as Vesperia, or who loved both equally. Either they never had a problem with one getting the miraculous, they find both girls interesting, they think both are awesome, whatever the reason may being. This was made as a place where both Chloé and Zoé fans can interact with one another, make AUs featuring them both, share ideas and opinions, and yes even if they must, submit their salt to me.

Now admittedly, I’d never been the one to take salt all that well. While I have respected it, some of them rubbed me the wrong way. There were even times where I had to turn the other cheek and not interact with it due to knowing how messy and controversial it would become in the end. Hell, nowadays, I filter salt tags due to how overwhelming they are. However, I have to admit a majority of ML’s salt is accurate to say the least, so that’s why I decided to have my blog be open to it. Even if people still had a problem with Chloe and/or Zoe. Lord knows I know, especially on the latter. 

Therefore, this is where I now come in and say while I am open to salt and having it be submitted on here, I do wanna make it a very important and very clear message:

DO. NOT. GO. OVERBOARD. WITH. IT! 

I think that’s the number one rule when it comes to the internet. Never let your feelings go overboard; especially salty ones because that’s where the drama happens. I’ll confess, I myself have been a victim of this mentality too. I had let my own salt get the better of me where I either ended up with numerous fights, had people turn out to hate me, or I became the immature one in the end. Therefore, that’s why I had to filter salt tags and be careful with what I read or what I come across as salt, so I wouldn’t have to repeat my mistakes, and I don’t want any of you guys do the same. So in the end, I’m asking you, please don’t let your feelings overboard you! 

At the end of the day, I don’t care who you love, who you hate, who you find more or less redeemable. That’s not the issue I have. The issue I have is that I’m tired of letting everyone’s salt and hatred towards certain characters ruin the experience for everyone else in the fandom. Fandoms are meant to share your ideas, your opinions, your creativity. There are not here to be hateful or mean-spirited to the point where, by law, YOU cause someone’s life! 

I’m not a big Chloe or even Zoe fan, and while yes, I haven’t been the most mature on the latter, even if you go back to my older posts tagged “Zoe salt,” I have said a lot of rude things about her and I am sorry for that. Most of it is outdated, and while I do still have my problems with her, I’m not gonna make it a big deal anymore. 

I made this blog for fun, not for hate.

Okay @elfwreck there is this little thing called a hyperbole, it's were people exaggerate in order to get their point across, and it isn't meant to be taken literally! If someone says they're 'so hungry they can eat a horse' they're saying they're very hungry and using a large animal to say they could eat just about anything, not that they literally want to eat a horse. Saying die<3 to a general audience for doing something you find immortal isn't saying you literally want all of those people to die, it's saying that what you're doing is extremely wrong and the person using the hyperbole thinks you should stop. It's different from a direct threat on a person because a) it cannot be feasibly carried out and is obviously not literal and b) it's impersonal and not direct harassment. It's actually something my 9 year old nephews understand, but we all learn at our own pace<3 god bless🙏

Now onto your other point, it isn't about enacting it in real life! There is a lot of nuance applicable to this topic, but I'll try to summarize.

First and foremost, it is not inherently bad to talk about heavy topics, but you do need to handle them with care and be aware of the message you are sending with your depiction. Many books have heavy topics(Stone Butch Blues, literally any classic ever, hell- even The Song of Achilles, all have heavy themes and topics of discussion but since they are discussed with care they help instead of harm) and that is perfectly fine, but when some random person on the internet does it it becomes somewhat dubious. 99% of Ao3 fics including heavy topics do not handle them with care, it's fetishized and romanticized at every corner. That's the issue, not the topics themselves.

Also, media influences culture and affects what people believe and how they act. This is inarguable. Countries would not spend millions on propaganda if it was not effective in influencing public opinion. Fiction affects reality, it's why we have language arts classes, it's why we study media, it's why we have works of art that are still relevant and influence culture after centuries of existence

When something is perpetuated constantly in the public eye it normalizes it and influences how people feel about it. Why do you think children's media is so education and moral lesson focused? Why do you think shows try so hard to teach empathy? Why do you think the portrayal of disabilities in media matters so much? Why do you think queer-coded villians is such a heavy topic? They matter because people are surrounded by messages in media and those messages reinforce and break bias whether the viewer notices or not. You can genuinely become desensitized to things because of their prominence in media.

Have you not been paying attention to the world your entire life? Let's take one example I have strong opinions on: the depiction of teenagers in media. Have you noticed how teen dramas are so... Explicit? The (adult) actors in these shows play adultified characters and they are stock-full of explicit sex scenes. These shows are generally made for a 17+ audience but they feature and focus on highschool students(the idea of sex scenes between minors being made for adults is gross but whatever) and highschool students watch them. You can't make media about highschoolers and not expect them to watch it. But kids are still growing and want to be seen as adults since adults get respect, but they do not have the experience or wisdom needed to safely navigate adulthood. The message in these films are that it's cool to dress provocatively (which, while I'm a supporter of dressing how you want, is dubious because the ones benefiting from kids sexualizing themselves isn't the kids, it's creepy adults) and drinking (and sometimes drugs, but imo that's slightly less glorified. Slightly.). And as a highschooler I can definitely confirm that the message is effective and influential. The prominence of this media has influenced the way teenagers act in a dangerous way. Fiction effects reality.

Also, writing explicit shit about minors definitely reflects on your moral character. Full stop. Firstly, there so many adults you could choose from to write smut about and deciding to write/draw a child in these situations instead is fucking weird, and desensitizes you to it. It's inappropriate. Also, especially since y'all love to do this to children's media, you are making a space more toxic. Children are going to engage with stuff written for them/features them, and since it's about them you are acting as a guest in this space. It's inappropriate.

TL:DR you're being willfully incompetent and fucking weird. Stop being weird. Not reading a noncon fic about a fictional child won't kill you, you fucking moron
