audio description: twelve different voices reciting a prophecy in sync. the text of the prophecy is below.
Six years and six minutes before. The thirteenth dawn will rise After the last eve of the third Once quartered in the depths twelve. No weapon forged or warrior born can prolong the night To save this day from breaking. An act of mortality in opposition with itself. The descent: a paradigm unfolds. First, to seize power by great force and in great number, A new order in the age of chaos. Second, a blessing upon untouched shores, A stranger's house to call a home. Third, to bend back the needle unbroken, Reforged from the splintered vein of the earth. Fourth, a many-eyed mask with painted lips, A shroud pulled down to expose a throat. From a gathering, on the day of ascent, A sickle wielded by proven hands, Having shattered the last held breath, Will swing against the mountain and meet only air. The wheel, spokes of bone, awaited, entombed. There shall never be a thirteenth dusk.
(it won't play in the app for me, but works on desktop, fyi!)
as recited by me, my IRL friend who guest-played a few sessions, my spouse, my dm helper and hero @artemissoteira, and a bunch of folks from my gm discord! (including @kingfisherkink, @birdiethebibliophile, im sorry those are the only tumblr accounts i know off the top! but you know who you are and ily.)
my d&d campaign is in its end days and so obviously i needed a greek choir to deliver the Big Prophecy I've been dropping clues about for 3.5 years. what does it mean??? what is yet to come??? can't tell you yet. i just work here.
tbh, organizing and editing this recording made me emotional. the fact that random (and not-so-random!!) people cared enough to contribute; the fact that the end result is beautiful and an act of collaboration. it's like a little microcosm of this ttrpg as a whole, of the things collective storytelling can bring out of us.
the reforged campaign means so so so much to me. that really sums it up, huh.
