Re: the fear of needles poll going around: a really interesting side effect of having medical procedure as a special interest is that I am unusually calm during injections and blood draws, to the point that phlebotomists get flustered trying to draw from me.

I'll be sitting there and they'll accidentally put the alcohol pad over the injection site and I'll be like oh don't worry just give me the gauze and I'll hold it so you have both hands. It clearly creeps them out but what am I supposed to do?? Faint?? Throw up??? I have no social script for that.

#ya girl #this is not to be like oohoo im so much better than everybody afraid of needles ok it is smart to be afraid of needles #i have a much less logical phobia of being startled by snakes. not the snakes themselves im fine with them in tanks #but the chance that i will see one on a hike or something scares me #anyway like every medical professional probably thinks im a little freak which is whatever.#its not even that i have a high pain tolerance either! it hurts!#but im so fucking understimulated all the time that you can distract me very easily from pain which is not always a good thing
