I saw you asking for touch prompts and okay. Imagine. Aye having a nightmare + touch prompt 5 and 28. Maybe? If you want to write a little something!

hi nonny :')! i made a little post about it right after getting this ask, but i've written something that i'd consider to be close to the more obvious interpretation of this prompt already, in on our way up ch5, so i did take this a little to the left of that, but i think it still suits

5 (feeling their pulse) + 28 (reaching for each other in the dark) from this list for my lil event; around 700 words of soft/sad/sleepy akkaye, rated t for trauma nightmares :')

Akk wakes abruptly in the middle of the night. His room is pitch-black, the soft sound of the waves the only thing he can hear, and — 

He reaches out to the other side of the bed, blindly, fingers searching for a body that should be there, and finds nothing. 

Blearily, Akk gets up, throws a sheet over his bare shoulders, and goes out the door. His room is separate entirely from the rest of the house, and if he were going there he’d need to wear real clothes to cross part of the beach. But he isn’t, because as he’d expected, he finds Aye sitting on the steps, hands hooked around his knees, looking tiny in one of Akk’s sleep shirts. 

Carefully in deference to his own half-awake state, Akk descends the couple stairs to his boyfriend then drops heavily down next to him. Aye, who apparently had headphones in, startles and turns to look at him with wide eyes. 

Akk frowns at him, still barely awake enough for words.

“What are you doing up?” Aye asks quietly, pulling one headphone out. He has prominently visible eyebags.

“You’re gone,” mumbles Akk.  

Aye’s expression does something funny, maybe a little wistful and maybe a little achingly fond, and he sighs. “I’m sorry. I— had a nightmare. I didn't want to wake you."

“Yeah,” says Akk, who’d also expected that. He frees a hand from its sheet cage to take one of Aye’s. “Okay now?” 

Aye looks down at their hands, gently running his thumb back and forth over Akk’s skin, and doesn’t answer. 

It’s fair. If it was all okay, Aye would be back inside where he’s supposed to be already. Akk leans their shoulders together and tries to think. 

They’re on break, school out after term exams for a little while. Aye has been visiting Akk’s parents, coming out on the boats with them and trying his best to help with the catch and holding Akk’s hand in public. It’s good, it’s easy, it’s — impossible, he thinks sometimes. Like there should be a catch to being so happy. Like there should be a punishment.

Only for him, though. Never for Aye, not like this. This is the second nightmare this week; the first time only Akk had woken, laying silent in bed and watching Aye toss and turn and call alternately for Akk and for someone who’d never hear him. From looking it up, Akk knew better than to wake him if he didn’t have to; all he could do was inch close enough to hold him, careful and soft, and try not to cry. 

When Aye hadn't seemed to remember in the morning, he hadn't said anything. He hadn’t wanted Aye to feel bad about it, or like he was ruining their vacation. But maybe he really should’ve, because it looks like that happened anyway. He should’ve said something so Aye could know it was fine, that Akk is fine with it, that he’ll carry this without complaint. 

None of that has any path to make it out of his mouth here in the dark, sleep fogging his brain and his throat, so Akk just holds his hand tighter and says, “Don’t leave unless you want to, next time."

“Next time,” repeats Aye, bitterly, then sighs. “Okay. I’m sorry.” 

Aye feels a little colder than he should be against him. Akk untangles their hands long enough to drape the sheet over both of them, then scoots down enough on the step to put his head on Aye’s shoulder and holds out his hand palm-up between them. “Don’t be sorry,” he says, warm and held and sleepy again. “Be my pillow.” 

Snorting, Aye leans into him, letting their heads rest together. “Spoiled,” he murmurs, tired and warm. “You missed me that much?” 

Normally, this is the kind of thing Akk has to deny as part of their forever game of chase, but he can’t remember why that’s important right now, so he just says, “Yes.” 

“Baby,” says Aye with a near-silent laugh and takes his hand back, grip warm. “It’s okay. I missed you too.” 

They go silent. Akk closes his eyes. Faintly, he feels Aye’s thumb running over his pulse point, in time with a rhythm he can hear thudding in his own ears. He wonders if it was him who died in Aye’s dreams this time, resents himself for haunting them, hopes it’s enough to sit together and love him and weather it. 

He holds on. It seems like it could be. It seems like it will be.

Author’s Note: Missed a week as I was on vacation and somehow managed to have less time to write than during a busy work week... A shame because I had a good idea for it, but my µ’s muse has since moved on. Perhaps I’ll come back to it later.

Anyway, here’s some fun and fluffy YohaRiko that manages to serve as a direct followup to the last Femslash Friday entry I wrote.

Summary: Yohane checks in on Riko’s progress in writing their duet song

Riko slowly opened her eyes as she lifted her fingers up from the keys. A couple seconds later, she lifted her foot from the petal and the chord finally faded.

The piece was over. Or at least the part of the composition in which she was actually confident was over. Granted, she was closer to completing her part than Chika was with hers…

Lyrics. She still needed lyrics.

Riko sighed.

“Aww, Riri looked so happy a moment ago, now she’s sighing?”

Riko almost fell off the piano bench as she spun toward the unexpected voice.

“Y-Y-Yoshiko-chan?!” She sputtered as she finally became aware of the blue-haired girl leaning against the wall nearby.

“Ku ku ku.” Yoshiko held her signature hand gesture near her eye. “How shameful that my elite little demon was unable to sense her master’s presence.”

“H-How did you get there anyway?”

“A fallen angel may appear wherever she wishes.” Yoshiko intoned. “And on this dreary day when the sky weeps in sorrow, Yohane’s favored little demons were unable to attend their daily rehearsals. Thus, she decided to return to her mortal abode. However, before departing this scholarly place, she was drawn by heavenly melodies and found herself here.”

“In other words, since practice was cancelled due to the rain,” Riko translated “you decided to head home instead.”

“If Riri insists on putting it that way, yes.”

“But the music room in in the opposite direction of the entrance from your homeroom.”

“Geh… I… You… uhm…” Yoshiko’s façade faltered, and her tone returned to its normal, higher pitch. “Yohane recalled Riri’s promise to write a duet for us and desired to observe the progress.”

“You mean Yoshiko-chan wanted to watch.” Riko corrected with a giggle.

Yoshiko’s eyes widened as she realized her mistake in using Yohane’s speech pattern with her own voice. “A-Anyway, of course Riri didn’t notice me coming in because she was too lost in her own world of music that nothing else mattered.”

Riko felt heat begin to gather in her cheeks as she realized she couldn’t refute the other girl’s teasing point.

“And ya know, for being an elite little demon, Riri truly has an angelic smile when she plays the piano. That alone is worth watching.” Yoshiko offered a smile of her own. “And of course, the music is wonderful as well.”

The heat spread to Riko’s ears and down her neck. All traces of teasing were gone from Yoshiko’s tone as she spoke with the utmost sincerity. Riko knew she should just accept the compliment, but there still remained a part of her that worried if she was worthy of such praise.

“So, how is Chika coming along with the lyrics?” Yoshiko asked, bringing Riko’s attention back to reality.

“She isn’t…” Riko lamented. “She’s still struggling to finish a song for our group as a whole.”

Yoshiko pursed her lips for a moment in thought. “Maybe I can help?”

“Mm?” Riko blinked at the unexpected offer.

“Mari and I helped Riri write stuff for Guilty Kiss, right?” Yoshiko pointed out. “And I thought that all turned out pretty good.”

“It did.” Riko agreed, deciding not to comment on the chaos that was their former subgroup’s song writing style. “However, I’m not sure this song would fit the style we typically used for Guilty Kiss.”

“So?” Yoshiko shrugged. “If Riri and Chika can come up with songs of all different styles, surely Yohane can at least help write some lyrics to one outside her normal preferred range as well.”

Riko laughed lightly. “You’re right, sorry Yoshiko-chan, for doubting your abilities.”

“Fu fu.” Yoshiko’s tone fell back down. “Yohane shall prove her mastery of music, even to the exceptionally talented Riri!” Then, like a switch had been flipped within her, Yoshiko grinned and bounced over to the side of the piano. “But first, we should have you play it again from the top.” She said, leaning her elbows on the edge and dropping her chin on her hands while being careful to avoid bumping the lid prop.

“Alright.” Riko nodded and held her fingers above the keys. She took a slow breath, held it for a moment, released it, and began to play.

However, unlike before, when she assumed she had been alone, Riko remained keenly aware that she now had an audience. She glanced over toward the younger girl, half expecting Yoshiko to be watching as she had said earlier. Instead, Yoshiko’s eyes were closed, and she displayed a serene smile as though she were basking in warm sunlight. It was a rare sight indeed, as far as Riko was concerned. And undeniably adorable.

Riko watched as Yoshiko slowly opened her eyes when the song came to an end again. Yoshiko blinked as though coming out of a trance.

“Any ideas?” Riko inquired.

“Oh, uhm, yes… uhm…” Yoshiko seemed uncertain as to what words to choose. “Clouds. White fluffy clouds, not like dark stormy ones outside right now. And sunshine. Yes. Lots of light and sunshine. And feathers. White feathers. Angel feathers… Uhm…” Her gaze fell toward the floor. “I’m sorry, Riri, I’m… no longer sure if I would be the best duet partner for a song this… angelic.”

“But Yohane-chan is a fallen angel, right?”

“Fallen angel, right.” Yoshiko nodded. “Emphasis on fallen.”

“But an angel nonetheless.”

Yoshiko looked back up with a strange expression; a mix of confusion and… hope? Was that it? Riko wondered.

“I think Yoshiko-chan would be a fine duet partner for a song about angels.” Riko couldn’t help smiling.

“Really?”

“Of course.”

“Then, uhm…” Yoshiko glanced around a bit. “Can I write something down somewhere?”

“Yeah, here.” Riko held out one of her notebooks.

Yoshiko reached out to accept but hesitated at the last second. “Isn’t that where you write your music though?”

“Yes, and you want to write some lyrics for my melody, right?”

“Uhm… right…” Yoshiko finally took the book but stared at it a moment as though admiring some precious and delicate artifact. After at least a full minute, she opened it, balanced it precariously on the edge of the piano, and began to write. Then, she handed it back to Riko.

“Alright.” Riko said, placing the notebook next to the other she was using for the score. “Where did you want to put these lyrics?”

“Here.” Yoshiko pointed.

Riko nodded and began transcribing the main melody notes to the bars above the words Yoshiko had written. “Like that?” She asked.

“Yeah, but… oh…” Yoshiko scrunched her nose. “That part doesn’t match with the syllables. Sorry, I…”

“It’s fine.” Riko interrupted. “We can just do this.” She quickly changed the quarter note into two eighths.

“Are you sure?”

“Of course.” Riko assured. “I know back with Mari, you two often just gave me lyrics you would come up with, and I would fit them into a song. For whatever reason, we didn’t end up doing that part together…”

“I’m sorry…”

“It’s fine, don’t worry about it.” Riko shook her head. “That is one of the ways Chika-chan and I have gone about writing songs after all; she just gives me lyrics like you and Mari did. But other times we’ve worked together and written both the melody and lyrics alongside each other.”

“Hm…”

“And today, Yoshiko-chan is here with lyric ideas, and I have a good portion of the melody arranged. So, let’s take things from here and see how far we can get.” Riko smiled again. “Who knows, maybe we’ll even get it finished before it’s time to go home.”

“Alright.” Yoshiko nodded.

“Right, so…” Riko shifted several centimeters over on the bench before patting the open area next to her. “Why don’t you take a seat and sing this part while I play it?”

“Eh?”

“Besides, I find it much easier to write with the book against the rack instead of on the side like you did a minute ago.”

“Oh… uhm… alright.” Yoshiko gave in and slid down beside Riko.

“Now, I’ll start playing two bars ahead of where you wanted these words, got it?”

Yoshiko nodded.

With that, Riko began to play again, starting where she said she would. A moment later, Yoshiko started to sing, using the higher end of her range.

Riko wasn’t exactly sure why she had expected Yoshiko to tap into Yohane’s lower range, which she had used to great effect for songs meant to evoke more powerful emotions. Her higher range was used more for high energy pop idol songs. Somehow, Riko had failed to realize how melodic and, dare she say, angelic, Yoshiko’s higher range was capable of being.

“That was lovely.” Riko commented when they finished the part.

“I know, right?” Yoshiko grinned. “Riri really wrote an amazing melody.”

“I meant Yoshiko-chan’s lyrics and how you sang them.”

“O… oh…”

This time it was Yoshiko’s turn to blush at the compliment. And for some reason, that made Riko happy, that she wasn’t the only one. Of course, it also helped that she believed Yoshiko was quite cute when flustered.

“A-Anyway, that gave me more ideas.” Yoshiko shook herself out of her embarrassment and reached toward the music rack.

Riko watched the other girl scrawl several more lines before transcribing her melody to the bars above as she had done earlier.

“Shall we go through it again with the new part?” Riko asked.

“Mm.” Yoshiko nodded with an enthusiastic smile. “But Riri should sing this part as a response to mine.”

“In that case…” Riko copied the new lyrics under the score in the first notebook.

And with that, another run was made through the work. Then another. And another. Then a chorus began to take shape with the two girls singing in harmony.

Riko found herself having so much fun that she completely lost track of time. Until Yoshiko’s stomach growled. Loudly. Riko laughed lightly as the other girl hung her head in embarrassment.

“I suppose we probably should be heading out.” Riko said, somewhat reluctantly. “Before they kick us out.”

“Yeah…” Yoshiko agreed with a similar hesitance.

“And the weather is supposed to clear up tomorrow, so we’ll probably have practice.”

“Yeah…”

“We’ll have to figure out another time to keep working on this.”

“Mm…”

“Say, Yoshiko-chan.”

“Mm?”

“Why don’t you come over to my place tonight? We can have a quick dinner, and maybe take Prelude for a walk or something, then continue working on our song?”

Yoshiko’s expression immediately brightened again. “That’s a great idea, Riri! And it’s been fore~ver since I last saw Prelude!”

“Three days is forever?” Riko raised an amused eyebrow.

“For a pup like Prelude? Definitely.” Yoshiko stated with a decisive smile.

Riko laughed again. “Alright, let’s get packed up.”

“Right.” Yoshiko bounced up from the bench and scurried over to fetch her bag.

For her part, Riko closed the two notebooks and put them in her own bag. A minute later, the two were heading to the bus station, already chatting about more ideas for their duet.

Author’s Note Continued: Not all that much to say about this one, honestly. I had a couple ideas for it, one AiRina, another YuuAyuSetsu and this one. I stalled out trying to outline the other two, but this one pretty much wrote itself. I just wrote Yohane’s line about Riko’s angelic smile and built out from there.

I do mention smiles a lot in my writing, what with my focus on happy fluff and all, so I probably could have written just about anything. Except maybe the scene I continued working on after finishing this one.

I’ll probably come back to the AiRina one at some point because I really want a canon compliant version of the chapter I wrote for PoH, my monster theater AU. And deities only know how many more times I’ll write about Setsuna’s dazzling smile.

In fact guys, Empire fakes Revelation 7, by insisting and imposing their 'copyrighted trademark' name (Revelation 13) to be both the 'owner and purpose of existence of all the saints in all the ages', as rationalized with their pabebe introduction, or really, being 'ante' in 'anti-Christ' (2 Thessalonians 2, Matthew 3,11,17)-in fact they even played what they could label as 'primitive American music', 'primitive' being 'ahead' of time of course, as per their previous mention of that in the past weeks, that even sounds oriental. On their claims this week of all our fellows and yokebearers, Empire faked all things us, basically our Founding Principles, those that identify and distinguish us from the Empire to be indeed Sealed by Godhead: our Double Connotations, our being multi-branched, even the most precious and blessed name Stirling (2 Corinthians 3, 1 Corinthians 9). Speaking of far oriental and far occidental (see January 30/February 5, 2016), Mark 12 has these words: 'you are not far from the Kingdom, God is going to rule over you very, really soon.' Empire of course might claim this to discredit eschatology of 'Far East' and 'Far West', but of course 'you're not far from the Kingdom' for you only call such as Far East and Far West from the vantage point of where you are, and if you're already in Far East and Far West themselves then the Kingdom is already there. And yea, even Far North and Far South, for Empire even mentioned people who come from up north of the map to settle south of the map (Luke 5, 1 Corinthians 1-2, Romans 8,5, Acts 17, John 16). Just because Psalm 42-43 mentioned 'Jordan', Empire also mentioned that in their episode, ye know that my childhood village is better known to have 'Harts' or deer (Psalm 18 [February 9, 2013], Habakkuk 3) as mentioned in Psalm 42, so let that sink in, #bethelmusic #hillsong. Then you Empire mentioned our Sir #ShaneHarper, just because you claim Hebrews 9, which our King Edward X read on August 23, 2015 [June 3, 2018 relayed June 9-10. June 10-Portugal, refulfillment of the 6th Seal of Revelation 6 in November 1, 1755], a day before Sir Harper and Companions refulfilled Revelation 7 to us Hart. Why Antiochians bypassed Psalm 119 this week is of course further to augment their Mandated Weekday Readings, that has already used that days ago- in fact as they claim again the Johannine Apocalypse late this month, they would use Psalm 119 in 2 times. They did not even mentioned Deuteronomy 6 perhaps to grudgingly admit (Matthew 21) that they already leave up to us Wright Hart Alline that as much as King Edward X preached that on the 2016 birthday of my youngest co-boarder. This Empire, that claims 'liberty and equal justice for all', is proud of in their terms, 'segregating' 'known and unknown, canonized and candidate' saints. If they can do that (Luke 17-19), then all further we're Justified and Vindicated by Godhead (Isaiah 62) to fight Empire's diabolical scheme of baby/male/white genocide to preserve women, children, blacks and Latinos. Mark 12 mentions the Parable of the Murder in the Vineyard, as #uip20 names such, and because the same chapter also mentions 'Give to Caesar what is due to him', as per Empire's recrucifixion of Christ in their readings this month as it was last month, then we can say that as per our Russian Czars, then we're indeed Hart the Martyred Heir and the 'Fruitful Nation' (Hebrews 13, Revelation 11, Isaiah 56), not #mcgifruitfulnation, who rather kills us with raising Baal and lack of knowledge (Amos 8, Hosea 4). Well, Empire's media stations is leading our Lady #HaileeSteinfeld-Smoller to the slaughter at #Bilbao, #Spain this Sunday [Psalm 44,79,22]. 1 Corinthians 15 [July 20, 2018] tells us to do 'a plenty of work for Godhead'. Hebrews 7 tells us, 'many priests are elected [1 Corinthians 4] to ensure a continuity of temple operations [like what our H. G. Wells observed of the Empire]'. But Empire might tell us that this rather [Psalm 27,31] Shatters our being multi-branched and updated as much as we say that our branch churches and fellow messengers that we have Hart will continue on with the divine election that I may lose out. Moreover Empire might claim these words: 'mercy is more than sacrifice' [Hosea 6, Micah 6], or in Katherine Lee Bates' words [we mentioned her last week], 'mercy more than life'. Empire would indict us with this from Mark 12: 'to love us is better than for you to impose Holocaust over us.' 'Priests are elected by law, but Christ, the Once-And-For-All Eternal High Priest, is Elected by Godhead's Promise [Galatians 3].' If you are looking for something 'in between' (1 Timothy 2, Matthew 12, Psalm 139), then recall King Edward X's October 4, 2018 sermon, where he said that he's in the middle of Moises and Elijah, as Empire claimed on September 30 and October 7 this year, respectively. Empire claims Deuteronomy 6 this Sunday, and then 1 Kings 17 this #RemembranceSunday 2018, ahead of relay of September 29, 2013 this November 14-15, 2015. So we must be rather watching for any prophetic eventuality this November 8, between this Sunday and the forthcoming [see November 8, 1963 for my father's homestate].
