First of all congratulations for 1000 followers 🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉 it’s honestly amazing and you deserve all the best❤️❤️❤️ also happy new year 🎆🎆🎆 secondly, all the prompts are super good it, I had such a hard time choosing from them cause they that are all amazing, anyway I think 19, 20 and 21 just fit together perfectly for an angsty Azriel fic.
Broken Vows
Pairing: Azriel x f!reader
A/N: thank you so much anon, you're the sweetest! <33 And happy new year one month too late oopsie 🤭
Prompts: "I trusted you." + "Don't leave me now. Please. I still need you." + "Baby, please, just look at me."
Warnings: Az is not the best partner here (I promise he didn't cheat)
Word count: 1.3k
It must be a dream. A nightmare.
Whatever was happening, it wasn't real. It couldn't be. You refused to believe it.
Azriel was still talking, but you weren't listening anymore. His words blurred together in your mind, yet his first few sentences remained sharp, playing over and over in your head.
I've found my mate.
You had never been the jealous type, so it hadn't bothered you when he began spending more and more time with Madja’s new apprentice. It had started as small talk after her visits and you usually lingered too. Talya seemed nice enough—quiet and reserved yet friendly.
You hadn't questioned it when Azriel started visiting the apothecary for even the slightest headache. But then those visits became too frequent. He went there even when both of you felt perfectly fine.
You should have realized something was off when Azriel became distant. The signs had been there. You had just been too blind to see them.
But the problem wasn't that he had found his mate, was it?
I want to be with her.
A few simple words, and the whole world collapsed around you.
“Baby, please, just look at me.” His voice finally cut through your thoughts. “I know this is hard to hear, but let me—”
“You promised,” you interrupted him. Your eyes met his from where he sat at the other end of the couch.
“Baby…” he began, but you cut him off again.
“You promised,” you repeated, your voice rising as tears pricked your eyes. “You promised!”
Guilt flashed across Azriel's face, and he at least had the decency to remain silent as you pressed on.
“You said you'd reject your mate for me, Az,” you blurted out. Hot, angry tears rolled down your cheeks, but you barely noticed. “It was in your wedding vows, for gods’ sake!”
Azriel shook his head. “It's not that simple. I don't—”
“Isn't it?” you interrupted again. “Because it seems simple enough to me. You just reject the bond, like I did.”
His expression immediately hardened. “I don't want to reject the bond. If you would only let—”
“Why wouldn't you want to reject it?” you demanded.
“Because she's my mate!”
“And I'm your wife!”
For a moment, you just glared at each other. His shadows swarmed nervously around his wings, but then his shoulders slumped and his expression softened slightly.
“Can you let me explain?” he asked, studying you. “Please.”
With a sigh, you wiped your cheeks before crossing your arms over your chest. You simply looked at him, waiting.
“I don't want to lose you, baby,” he said softly.
“I don't see how that is going—”
Azriel stopped you mid-sentence. “Let me finish? Please?”
You rolled your eyes but gestured for him to continue. Listening to him was the last thing you wanted right now, but maybe he was going to surprise you. Maybe he was going to say it was all just a joke, a prank, and you'd be mad, but it would be fine.
You were grasping at straws, and you knew it.
“I still want to be with you,” Azriel said. He shot you a sharp look when you opened your mouth, and you sank back against the couch to let him continue. “But I also want to explore this bond with her.”
You scoffed. “So what? You think you can have both of us?” You shook your head, something vicious twisting in your gut. “That's not going to work, Azriel.”
You rose from your seat to head upstairs. You needed time to think, to figure out what to do. If you stayed, you would only get angrier. You had already cried and had no desire to do it again. But if you left, maybe you could spare yourself the fury.
Though the pain—the ache in your heart—could not be avoided, no matter what you did.
“Talya said that she understands the situation and she'd be willing to—”
You froze on the spot. Azriel must have realized he'd said the wrong thing because he didn't finish the sentence. His eyes dropped to your clenched fists as you turned back to face him.
Your restraint was gone. You wouldn't hold back now.
“You talked to her before you talked to me?” you seethed.
“Well, I…” Azriel seemed to be grasping for words. “She's my mate,” he repeated, as if that was explanation enough.
“And I'm your wife!” You threw your hands up. “I have been for the last two centuries!”
“I'm sorry, baby, but I—”
“Don't you ‘baby’ me, Azriel!”
He lowered his gaze, but you were too upset to care about the hurt look in his eyes. It was nowhere close to the heartache he was causing you.
“You know why I never worried about you finding your mate?” you asked. He looked up at you, but even if he had planned on saying something, you didn't give him time. “Because you promised you'd choose me. You promised you would reject the bond. And I believed it, believed you. I trusted you.”
You were well aware of what rejecting a mating bond felt like, how difficult it could be to deal with. Even without feelings involved, even knowing that you and your mate wouldn't have been a good match, it had still taken you two weeks to feel whole again. But Azriel had been there, filling the empty spot where your bond had been with his love.
You had never regretted your choice. You never had a reason to.
“And now I find out that not only did you spend time with her knowing she was your mate,” you went on, “but that you also want to be with her?”
Azriel’s voice was firm, edged with frustration. “I told you I want to be with you too, didn’t I?”
“Mother above, Azriel,” you snapped. “You think that makes me feel better? I trusted you, but you didn't even try.”
You had fought before. After two hundred years together, arguments were inevitable. But you usually talked it out and reconciled after a few hours—a day at worst. Maybe that was why Azriel didn't look particularly concerned.
Until you slipped the wedding band off your finger and tossed it onto the couch beside him.
His eyes widened in shock, and his usually restless shadows stilled behind him. You both stared at the ring, the silence stretching as your anger faded, leaving behind only a broken heart.
“You can't have your cake and eat it too, Az,” you finally said, your voice calmer now, resigned.
You turned on your heel again.
“I'm leaving,” you announced, already walking toward the stairs. You could go stay with your parents. They would welcome you without pressing for an explanation.
Azriel snapped out of his stupor and stood, reaching for you.
“Don’t leave me now. Please. I still need you.” His fingers closed around your wrist. “I still love you.”
You yanked your arm free, but didn't turn to face him. You couldn’t bring yourself to look at him as you bit out, “You should have loved me enough not to pursue your mate. You promised.”
He tried to stop you again, his shadows swirling around your legs as if to keep you from walking away from their master.
“Baby, that's not—”
You turned back one last time. Tears lined your eyes and your voice broke on the words. “I should have been enough, Azriel.”
You didn't wait to hear his response. You didn't try to go upstairs to pack some clothes.
Unable to stomach his presence any longer, you winnowed away.
a/n: technically, this is the end. I wanted to leave it open and hanging, but the more I think about it, the more I realize that I am a sucker for happy endings so I might write a part 2 bc I already have an idea :))

Nishimura Riki as your boyfriend and remembering some of your first times with him
warnings: smut, nsfw, niki's slightly sadistic, cursing, etc.
♱ boyfriend!ni-ki who likes to annoy the shit out of you and will not say sorry at all unless you get so angry or really about to cry.
♱ boyfriend!ni-ki who's not a fan of pda but will rest a hand on your nape or hold your wrist instead of your hand. it might seem possessive outside but he's just a sweet boy who likes keeping you close.
♱ boyfriend!ni-ki who isn't one to get sick often but when he did, you saw how it hit him hard, insisting he was fine even though his messages gets more dramatic by the hour.
niki: i'll rest so i can see my girlfriend right away.
you: yes, do that.
niki: then she can kiss me again.
niki: baby, i think i'm dying.
you'll sigh, shake your head as you read his texts. then he will send you a picture of his thermometer reading 39°C with a caption:
you might as well say your goodbyes.
♱ boyfriend!ni-ki who loves to help you give him handjobs.
the first time it happened is when you and niki were cuddling peacefully, his feverish body was warming both of you.
you felt his shaft harden, pressing insistently on your ass, making cheeks heated as you became very aware of his body's conscious or unconscious reaction to being close to you.
and niki who's oblivious, buried his face deeper into your shoulder with a low groan, mumbling "i don't want you to leave" with his drowsy voice, heavy with sleep but his crotch pressed harder, as if seeking more friction.
you turned to face him, your hand gently combed through his hair while clearing your throat softly. unsure of how to address his hardening length. "niki..." you started hesitantly.
"hmm?" he replied with sluggish tone like he was on the verge of falling asleep but then, as if he finally caught on to your stiffened posture, his grip loosened immediately.
you remembered him sitting up a little. his flushed face brighter than before and not just entirely because of the fever that had been keeping him in bed for days.
"oh my God..."
"i didn't mean for that to happen-"
you bit your lip, unsure whether to laugh at the awkwardness or save him from further embarrassment. "it's... okay."
then your hands travelled from his hair down slowly to his back, fingertips were grazing the dips of his spine as it drifted lower, ghosting over the curve of his ass before wrapping around his stiff length and giving it experimental strokes.
niki gasped, mouth opening and his eyes were fluttering shut, breathing "ahh, shit." while arching into your touch. you continued to pump his shaft, it's twitching while you smear the drops of precum to ease the glide.
he was so hard for you already that it made your own arousal surge. you can feel your pussy throbbing in response.
slowly, niki leaned, capturing your mouth in a searing kiss and he tasted like sleep, medicine, but underneath that, fuck... he was all male heat.
a moan vibrated in his throat as you worked on his cock, his hips were rocking into the tight circle of your fist and you swallowed the sound, deepening the kiss while your free hand roamed the lean muscles of his chest.
niki's hand wrapped around yours, helping you stroke his dick faster. you both looked down at where you were connected, watching his hard dick into your joined fists over and over again.
melting under your touch, niki's hand started fondling the soft fat of your tits, completely at your mercy as you brought him closer to the edge then your eyes met, heavy-lidded and full with lust, he crashed his mouth to yours again.
it's sloppy, all tongue, teeth, and desperation.
niki's breaths grew ragged, his fingers moved and dug into your shoulders and with a firm squeeze to the head of his cock, it urged him over.
niki came with a broken cry of your name. cum spurted over your hands, fingers. painting his stomach, your knuckles, and the bed.
"i love you so much."
♱ boyfriend!ni-ki who likes it when you asks him for anything whether it'll be something simple as helping you carry things or... something like asking him for head.
he will wrap his arms around you after and pull you into a tight hug, asking "it's good, right?"
"s-stop."
he will just laugh and rest his chin on your shoulder.
"god, this is so stupid."
"it's not, okay?" he will say firmly and look into your eyes. "i told you, you can ask me for anything. i mean it."
"we-well…" you'll try to change the subject by asking "do you wanna go downstairs and eat or something?"
"i just ate you."
♱ boyfriend!ni-ki who seems to lose control when it comes to eating and fingering your pussy. he loves your taste, the texture of your sensitive petals, the way you writhe and moan... it's utterly intoxicating. he becomes completely consumed by it and just can't stop pleasing you even after you already came.
your body spasms, your legs started shaking and quivering while your eyes were also already watering from the intensity of your climax that you just might black out from overstimulation, yet niki's unable to pull away from your slick folds.
his tongue continued to lap at your clit, fingering your hole that juices started gushing out the sensitive flesh and ni-ki's just groaning in delight, totally unbothered by your gasps and whimpers.
"niki, wait..." you'll plead breathlessly, trying to push him back. "please..."
ni-ki also knows that you'll get mad at him after and that he might earn a slap on his pretty face but like a man on a mission, his objective right there is to make you cum over and over until you're a mewling mess and going down on you is the only way he knows how to achieve this feat.
ni-ki can feel your pulse against his tongue and it drives him wild. you've already orgasmed multiple times but he thinks you might just have more climaxes inside you and he won't rest until they're spent.
♱ boyfriend!ni-ki who chuckled after hearing you blabber nonsensical words because of the mixture of pain and pleasure that you couldn't quite articulate while having sex with him for the first time. he'll whisper "my poor baby" while peppering soft kisses to your cheeks which is a contrast to the powerful movements of his hips.
♱ boyfriend!ni-ki who always misses you already while you were just sleeping beside him. he tucks your hair behind your ear as he watches you breathe, pouting because he can't talk to you. he'll gently lifts your arms, wrapping them around himself before burying his face into your neck, sighing dramatically like he's suffering.
a/n: i'm back, the cute outline was inspired by a heesung fic i read here but i can't find it anymore TT

bad students must face the consequences of their behaviour. it doesn’t matter who your boyfriend is.
words: 2.9k
part of my february festival event
join my taglist
warnings: dom!professors matz x sub!student reader, teacher-student relationship (hongjoong x you), power dynamics, threesome, punishment, spanking with ruler, very light anal play, face fucking, double penetration (mouth & pussy), under-negotiated kink, unprotected sex, sir kink, degradation, light dumbification etc
i am not responsible for the content you consume.
“What is this?”
He waves the sheet in front of your face indignantly and you recognise it instantly as the test you’d taken last week; the red D scrawled in the top corner gives you away and you huff. “How did you even—”
“Seonghwa,” he says, cutting you off. You’d roll your eyes if you thought you’d get away with it right now.
You knew it was a bad idea, really, dating Hongjoong; he may not have been your professor, but he is a professor, so you should’ve figured he’d be in cahoots with your teachers. It’s not like discretion was a massive concern, anyway; your relationship is an open secret among the staff. It’s technically not allowed, but you’re a grad student, an independent adult and your parents donate enough money to the school that neither of you would be in too much trouble if anyone did find out anyway. So you suppose you shouldn’t be surprised that, when you turned in a piss-poor exam, Seonghwa had run off tattling to your boyfriend. Dickhead.
“I was just having a bad day,” you say. “I studied, really. I don't know what happened.”
Neither of you believe that, but you push your lips into a pout and do your best to look contrite—to play the sweet, innocent girl your boyfriend loves to ruin.
“Joong…” You try to sound scared but you both know you’re not; there’s nothing he could do to you that you wouldn’t enjoy, after all. You’re just as sick as each other.
Hongjoong chuckles, clicking his tongue. He looks thoughtful for a moment, like he’s pretending to be conflicted over whether to punish you or not, but he’s not very good at hiding his excitement. The regretful sigh he lets out when he makes his decision is laughably disingenuous. “Bad girl,” he says, shaking his head. “You know I can’t let you get away with this, sweetheart.”
You open your mouth to respond but he doesn’t give you time; he shoves you down harshly, bending you over his desk so your ass is sticking up in the air. It’s a familiar position that you’ve found yourself in time and time again since you met him and you body prepares itself automatically; expecting him to spank you, you stick your ass up higher and wait with bated breath for the first blow. It doesn’t come. You crane your head around, confused. “Joong, what—” Oh.
You don’t need to finish the question; standing behind you, next to Hongjoong, is the very man who’d got you in this predicament in the first place— your medieval history professor, Park Seonghwa himself. He tilts his head, smiling sweetly. “Good afternoon.”
Your jaw drops. You hadn’t expected this—when did he even come in, anyway? “Joong—”
“You think we didn’t notice how you look at him?” Your boyfriend asks coolly. It’s only because of the cock in his hand, hard and already leaking, that you’re not worried he’s mad at you; no, he loves this. You should’ve known.
“Is that why you failed?” Seonghwa asks. “Too busy dreaming about me bending you over your desk? You have a boyfriend; an esteemed colleague of mine, in fact.” His tone is chiding and you feel yourself flush.
Hongjoong snorts almost petulantly. “As if she cares about that.”
“No?” Seonghwa asks. “What does she care about, then?”
“Pull her panties down and find out.”
Your cunt throbs painfully at the surety of the demand and the dark look in Seonghwa’s eyes as he obliges without hesitation. He doesn’t ask permission before he touches you—he already has it from the one who matters, after all—but when he pushes your skirt up your back, his hands still momentarily; you smile into the wood as you realise what they’re both looking at—the white, lacy panties sitting snugly across your pert cheeks.
“Well, isn’t that a sight.” Seonghwa’s voice is hoarse and affected as he rubs a hand across the delicate material. You feel yourself tense under his touch, the unfamiliar feeling of his skin on yours, and he gently pinches the soft flesh. “Relax,” he mumbles. “Be good, yeah? I won’t hurt you, I’ll be gentle.”
A sweet sounding lie; you can tell from the heaviness of his hand as it comes to rest on your ass that he has no such intentions. He fingers softly at the lace of your panties, sighing ruefully. “These really are beautiful,” he muses. “I hate to have to take them down like this, but bad students have to learn, don’t they?”
“They certainly do.” You crane your neck to follow your boyfriend’s voice and find him leaning against the wall behind Seonghwa, staring you down with familiarly cold eyes. He cocks an eyebrow when you finally catch his gaze. “Got something to say, precious?”
“No, sir,” you whisper.
“Turn around, then,” he smiles. “I’m just here to watch.”
You turn back, though more so he doesn’t see you roll your eyes than out of a desire to obey him. Seonghwa has carefully shimmied your panties down to the middle of your thighs and the cold air of the office bites at your sensitive pussy.
“Spread your legs,” he says. “Show me how wet you are.“
Blushing furiously, you part your legs, spreading them as far as you can without snapping the panties bunched around your thighs. Seonghwa hums, running a long finger through your wet folds. The touch is unexpected but Hongjoong’s trained you well enough that you manage to stay still despite your surprise. You whine a little when he pulls away and you hear both men chuckle.
“Professor Kim,” Seonghwa says. His voice has a new quality; delicate and flirtatious as he addresses your boyfriend. “Come and taste how wet she is.”
You hear Hongjoong approach the elder and try to move around to see it, but Seonghwa’s firm hand on your neck holds you still. “I don’t think so, bad girl,” he tuts. “Only good little girls get to watch. Keep still.”
“Good call,” Hongjoong purrs. “She’s always loved seeing me with other people. Little pervert would probably start humping the table if she saw me doing this.”
You hear the wet, lewd sounds of Hongjoong sucking at Seonghwa’s finger, lapping up your juices with a noise of pleasure. “Delicious little slut,” he chuckles. “Let’s get her properly disciplined so we can play with her how she wants.”
Somehow you hear the wide grin in Seonghwa’s voice as Hongjoong backs away. “I quite agree.”
His hands rests on your ass again, squeezing it softly. “This is what’s gonna happen, little one. You got a 48 on my exam, didn’t you?”
You’re almost embarrassed to hear the number and you know Hongjoong is too. “Yes,” you whisper.
“Yes, Professor will do,” he says. “You’re not my friend, sweetheart. You’re just a wayward student being put back on the right path.”
Shame courses through you but it would be a lie to say it’s anything but thrilling. “Yes, professor,” you whisper.
He taps your ass appreciatively. “Good girl. So, you got a 48 on my exam. What was the pass mark?”
“60, Professor,” you mumble.
“Now that’s not very hard to achieve, is it Professor Kim?”
“It’s not. The pass marks in my class are higher, in fact.”
You want to roll your eyes at their smug, jovial tones but you’re too aroused now to do anything but anticipate.
“A pathetic score, really.” Seonghwa’s voice is closer than ever and you feel his presence just inches away. “Especially for such a bright young woman. I think you need to learn to separate your head—” he gathers a piece of your hair, gently folding it behind your ear “—and your pussy, hm?”
“Yes, Professor.”
“Good.“ Something long and thin taps at your bare skin and you recognise it instantly—the wooden ruler Hongjoong keeps in his desk drawer for when he’s feeling particularly on-the-nose about the taboo nature of your relationship.
“I’m going to hit you with this twelve times,” Seonghwa purrs. “For each of the marks you easily could have gotten if you hadn’t been too busy imagining my cock in your mouth. Yeah?”
You nod, feeling yourself pulse. “Yes, Professor.”
“Repeat after me, alright?” The first hit is quick and sharp, spread over your ass and it makes you gasp. Seonghwa chuckles and rubs the reddening flesh before he grabs your hair, yanking your head back to whisper in your ear. “One,” he says. “I’m sorry for being such a slut, Professor.”
You repeat it quietly and he tuts. “Louder than that, love. I’m sure your boyfriend wants to know you’re learning your lesson.”
You oblige, repeating it louder and he makes a noise of satisfaction before the ruler comes down again, this time at the tops of your thighs. “Two,” he says. “I’m sorry for thinking with my pussy instead of my head.”
“Two, I’m… I’m sorry for thinking with my pussy instead of my head.”
The next hit lands in the same spot. “Three. I’m sorry for dripping over Professor Kim’s desk just from being spanked.”
You blush in embarrassment; you’d half hoped he wouldn’t notice, but that was a tall order anyway. When it comes to Hongjoong and anything to do with him, you’ve never been subtle.
The next hits follow the same pattern, spread across your ass and thighs with each one making you gasp louder than the last.
“Four. I’m sorry for making Professor Park waste his time disciplining me.”
“Five. I’m sorry for daydreaming about choking on another man’s cock.”
“Six. I’m sorry for being arrogant enough to think I’d get away with such an embarrassing performance.”
The last one hits you right on your dripping pussy, making you scream and he grabs your hair, spinning you around to face him and your boyfriend; your eyes hone in on Hongjoong’s cock, pulsing in his hands before Seonghwa forces your attention back to him. “Twelve,” he growls. “I’m sorry for being such a cockwhore that I’m making Professor Park break his rule about sleeping with students.”
You can’t help but grin as you repeat his words, feeling proud. Of course, you knew from the moment you turned around and saw him standing there what was going to happen, but it’s nice to hear it from him. He smiles, grasping your neck gently. “Did you like that?” He asks. “Getting spanked by your professor while your boyfriend jerks off to it?”
“Yeah,” you breathe. “I liked it.”
“Well, now that you’ve learnt your lesson,” he says, “I think it’s time you got fucked, no?”
You nod and turn to your boyfriend; he tilts his head, nodding towards his hard cock. “You know what to do,” he says.
“Yes, sir.” You sink to your knees, staring up at Seonghwa and sending him a teasing smile before crawling towards Hongjoong. You open your mouth, letting him push his dick inside; after all this time together, he doesn’t need to ease you into it anymore and can go straight to fucking your mouth and you take it diligently, opening your throat the way he’s trained you to. You hear Seonghwa whistle, admiring.
“She sucks cock like a fucking pro,” he laughs; the arousal in his voice is thick and unmistakable. “You’ve trained her well, Hongjoong.”
Hongjoong laughs too, patting your head. “I had an excellent student,” he grins. You smile around him at the praise and he curses. “You’re too good at this, babe, Jesus. Gonna cum before I even fuck you.”
He thrusts into your mouth a few more times before pulling out abruptly, shoving you off of him and in an instant Seonghwa’s hands are in your hair as he pulls you to your feet and shoves you back over the desk. You collide painfully with the wood but you barely notice; you’re used to being manhandled by now, and it only makes you more excited.
Large hands you recognise as Seonghwa’s grab your ass cheeks, pulling them apart slowly; the air hits your exposed holes and makes you jump in surprise but you quickly regain your composure. As you still yourself again you feel Hongjoong’s finger running gently across your asshole, almost like he’s inspecting it, before it slides down to toy with your pussy.
“Hm…” Seonghwa’s voice is teasing. “What’s your favourite hole of hers, Professor Kim?”
“What a question,” Hongjoong chuckles and you hear the smile in his voice. His finger prods gently at your rim, making you tense unconsciously and he tuts, lightly slapping the tight little hole. It’s a subtle, painless chastisement but it makes you whine all the same. “Now, now, kitty cat,” he chuckles. “I didn’t train you to squirm, did I?”
“No, sir,” you mumble.
“Good,” he says. “To answer your question, Hwa, I’d have to say her pussy. I love her ass, of course, but nothing compares to the way that little cunt clings to my dick like it’s just begging for a baby.”
“Well that does sound nice.” Seonghwa’s hands leave your ass, returning to your pussy to spread you open. “It looks snug,” he says. “What do you think, little one? Want your professor to breed you?”
It takes you a moment for your brain to catch up with the rest of you and you frown in confusion. “I- you mean you, Professor Park?” You ask. It comes out as more of a strangled cry; your head is a mess of arousal and you barely even register what he’s saying to you, let alone comprehend it fully.
He laughs, patting your soft skin gently. “Yes, perhaps I should be more clear. It must be confusing to be bending over in front of two of your teachers.”
Your face burns at the obvious mockery; the degrading, sneering tone of his voice but you say nothing. Seonghwa hums. “So?” He asks sweetly. “You want me in your cunt, baby girl?”
“Yes,” you breathe. “Please, Professor.”
“There’s those manners,” he praises.
He keeps a firm grip on your hips as he slides in from behind; the feeling of his skin against your still burning ass is uncomfortable, but the way his cock is stretching you as he buries himself inside you is the only thing your brain can process right now.
He’s just as big as Hongjoong, maybe a little bigger, but his thrusts are more fluid and controlled; where Hongjoong fucks you like an animal hungry for more, Seonghwa fucks you with precision; with intention. His hands on your hips are firm yet gentle and the way he finds you in your deepest places has your head spinning with euphoria. “Jesus,” he curses. “Pretty little thing, aren’t you?”
You open your mouth to respond, barely getting a whine out before you feel hands in your hair, yanking at it to pull you forward. Hongjoong comes into view on the other side of the desk, his dick somehow still hard as he feeds it into your mouth. “There you go,” he coos. “Keep it hard, baby.”
You nod as best as you can and the friction against his dick makes your boyfriend groan. “Fuck,” he mutters. “You’re so fucking good with cock you could make me cum on accident.”
The feeling of two dicks inside you makes it hard to focus on either one; let alone to begin to process the filthy words they spit down at you. Intesd you close your eyes, letting the tears fall as Hongjoong starts to fuck your throat again; you’re limp against the desk now, held up solely by the wood and by the two men using you to satisfy themselves. “Oh shit,” Hongjoong says, seeing your dazed expression. “Baby’s gone dumb already.” He strokes your hair gently, a small comfort between punishing thrusts. “You okay, little dove?”
You groan in response, unable to do much else; it makes them laugh and Seonghwa pats your ass affectionately. “You’re doing so well,” he says. “I’m almost there, sweetheart. Gonna fill you up real nice, yeah?”
“Y-yeah,” you gasp.
The feeling of Seonghwa’s thrusts growing faster and harder and more desperate is overwhelming; coupled with the sensation of Hongjoong’s cock hitting the back of your throat again and again, it’s almost unbearable. Your fingers claw against the wood, surely leaving marks but you don’t care; you feel unlike you ever have before, stuffed full and used by two of the most attractive men you’ve ever even imagined.
You’re in so deep that you don’t even realise it’s over until the emptiness of your mouth and cunt becomes obvious; you feel cum leaking from your hole, a wet substance dripping down the desk and only when you look closer do you figure out what it is—squirt. You squirted. You squirted all over your boyfriend’s desk with another man’s cock in your pussy and you’ve never been more fucked out and satisfied than you are now.
When you stand up fully your legs, numbed and weakened by their abuse, start to give out but Hongjoong is there in an instant; he catches you in his arms, lowering himself to the ground so he can cradle you in his lap. You’re faintly aware of Seonghwa’s voice and strong hands stroking your hair before he’s gone, and it’s just you and Hongjoong.
“Good girl,” he mutters. “You took that so well.”
“Really?”
“Of course,” he smiles. “I only hope your performance in Professor Park’s class improves soon. Otherwise he’ll have to tutor you if you want to keep your spot in his class.”
Your heart jumps. “What?”
“Uni rules,” he shrugs, appearing nonchalant but the knowing smile on his face tells all. “If you fail two exams in a row, that’s what happens.”
You don’t know why he seems so surprised when you turn up in his office a month later with a D-minus and an already leaking pussy. He always knew you were insatiable.
Lucky for you, so are they.

haircut — spencer reid
pairing: spencer reid x reader ( no use of y/n ) summary: you're caught off guard by spencer's haircut content warnings: mention of stuffing yourself with ice cream and popcorn a/n: boyband spencer makes me feel things so i just had to write this
You pushed open the door to the conference room. The scent of freshly brewed coffee lingered in the air, mixing with the faint scent of paper and ink from the stacks of case files spread across the table.
Penelope Garcia was already seated. She looked up from her laptop the moment you entered, her eyes lighting up as she greeted you.
"Good morning, sunshine!" she chirped, holding out a file for you.
You smiled, the warmth of her energy making the early morning a little more bearable. “Good morning,” you replied, taking your seat beside her. “Thanks, Pen.”
She gave you a playful wink. “Always here to deliver your daily dose of doom and gloom.”
You chuckled, shaking your head as you leaned back in your chair, settling in. “How was your weekend?” you asked, genuinely curious.
Penelope sighed dramatically, pressing a hand to her chest. “Oh, my dear, it was divine—a full 48 hours of zero crime, binge-watching the most ridiculous reality shows, and eating a huge amount of popcorn. A true masterpiece of relaxation. What about you?” Penelope asked, her eyes fixed on her computer screen as she attempted to pull up the PowerPoint for the case briefing.
You sighed, stretching slightly in your chair. “Same thing,” you admitted. “Spent the weekend on the couch, barely moving, while shoveling buckets of ice cream down like it was my full-time job.”
Penelope gasped dramatically, turning to you with wide eyes. “You didn’t move? At all?”
“Barely,” you confirmed, already missing the comfort of your couch. “Honestly, I think I might have become part of it.”
She snorted, shaking her head as she finally got the PowerPoint to cooperate. “Respect,” she said, clicking through the slides.
Before you could respond, the conference room door opened again, and the rest of the team started trickling in. Hotch took a seat next to you, as he opened his files, while JJ leaned toward Penelope, the two of them quickly falling into conversation.
You glanced around the table, scanning the usual faces—until you noticed an empty seat.
Spencer’s seat.
Your brows furrowed slightly. He was never late. If anything, he was usually one of the first to arrive, sitting quietly with his coffee, already halfway through the case materials before anyone else had even opened their files.
When JJ and Penelope began presenting the case, you had no time to let your anxieties cloud your judgement regarding the empty seat. voices pulling you back into work mode.
That was until JJ suddenly smirked and said, “Well, hello.”
Your eyebrows furrowed as you turned to her, confused by her reaction—until you followed her gaze.
And then, your mouth fell open.
Spencer had just walked in.
But not the Spencer you had been expecting.
He looked… different.
Not in a bad way. Not even in a way you had the right words for. Just—different.
His normally tousled curls had been cut shorter, neater, styled in a way that framed his face and somehow made him look even more—God help you—attractive. It was a change you hadn’t been prepared for, and from the silence that briefly passed over the team, you weren’t the only one caught off guard.
Spencer gave a small, almost shy smile at JJ’s reaction before heading to his seat. He settled down on the other side of Hotch, setting his bag on the table.
Hotch barely looked up from his file as he raised an eyebrow and deadpanned, “What, did you join a boyband?”
A small frown creased Spencer’s face. “No,” he replied, the petulant tone in his voice making a few people chuckle.
Conversation quickly resumed, the team diving back into case details as though nothing had happened. But you? You were barely processing a single word.
Your mind was too busy reeling.
Your eyes kept drifting back to Spencer, betraying you as they traced over his new look. The sharpness of his jaw, the way his now-shorter curls curled just slightly at his temples, the way his freshly cut hair made his cheekbones stand out a little more.
This was dangerous. Very dangerous.
Because if you had thought Spencer Reid was cute before, you had no idea how you were going to survive this version of him sitting across the room from you every day.
As expected, Hotch wrapped up the briefing with his usual stern voice. “Wheels up in thirty.”
The room stirred with movement as everyone gathered their files and bags, preparing to head to the jet. You slung your bag over your shoulder, but not before sneaking a few more glances in Spencer’s direction.
Unfortunately, you weren’t as subtle as you thought.
At some point during the meeting, Derek had caught you staring—not once, not twice, but multiple times. And when your eyes met his across the table, he grinned knowingly, amusement flashing in his gaze.
You had felt your face heat instantly and quickly looked away, pretending to be very focused on your files.
Smooth. Real smooth.
You got up, ready to make a quick exit before you could embarrass yourself further, but just as you turned toward the door, Spencer’s voice stopped you.
“Hey—uh, is it okay if I ride with you?”
It was such a simple question. A question he had asked before. Sometimes Spencer drove with Derek, other times he rode with you. It was normal. Casual.
So why did it suddenly feel like the most dangerous thing in the world?
You swallowed, gripping the strap of your bag a little tighter. Your usual response would have been an easy, effortless “Yes. Of course.” But today? Today, you could barely meet his eyes without feeling like your brain short-circuited.
Because he looked that good.
Still, you forced yourself to nod, offering a quick, “Sure.”
You kept your gaze trained on the hallway as you stepped out of the room, hoping that if you avoided looking at him, your heart would stop hammering against your ribs.
Unfortunately for you, Spencer had already fallen into step beside you. You stepped into the elevator together, the metallic doors sliding shut with a soft ding.
A silence settled between you, not entirely uncomfortable, but not the easy kind you were used to with Spencer either.
Out of the corner of your eye, you noticed him tapping his shoe against the floor—a habit you’d picked up on over the years. Spencer only did that when he was nervous.
That surprised you.
He never did that around you.
You and Spencer were close—so close that sometimes it felt like too close. Like the kind of close that made your heart race when he so much as looked at you a certain way. And today, with his new haircut and the way his suit fit just right, that feeling was overwhelming.
Your eyes flickered to the floor, watching his shoe tap against the tile before glancing up at him.
Big mistake.
Because the moment you did, your heart flipped in your chest. He looked so good, and that single thought refused to leave your mind no matter how hard you tried to push it away.
You quickly looked away, biting your lip, hoping he hadn’t noticed your staring.
But of course, he did.
“If it’s a bother,” Spencer suddenly spoke, his voice quiet as the elevator hummed downward. “I can drive with Derek to the airport instead.”
Your stomach twisted at the suggestion. It wasn’t that you didn’t want him in the car with you—it was that you wanted it too much. And now he had clearly picked up on your avoidance, which only made your embarrassment ten times worse.
“No, Spencer,” you said quickly, shaking your head as the elevator dinged again, signaling your arrival. “You’re not a bother at all.”
You barely gave him time to respond before stepping out of the elevator, making a beeline for the parking garage.
Spencer followed closely behind, and even though you weren’t looking at him, you could feel his gaze on you.
You unlocked the car, and Spencer slid into the passenger seat beside you. Normally, by this point, the two of you would already be knee-deep in some random discussion—whether it was a case, a bizarre fact he recently read, or a debate about which movies held up over time.
But right now?
Silence.
Not the comfortable kind. Not the kind that came from years of understanding each other so well that words weren’t always necessary.
This was different.
Spencer was quiet because he sensed something was off. He was a profiler, after all—he could read people better than anyone, and he had definitely picked up on your shift in behavior.
And you? You were silent because you feared that if you opened your mouth, you’d do something completely mortifying. Like stutter over your words. Or say something dumb. Or worse—blurt out the fact that you had spent the entire morning internally spiraling over how ridiculously good he looked today.
Your fingers curled around the steering wheel, your gaze fixed ahead.
Beside you, Spencer set his bag down at his feet, shifting slightly in his seat. You could feel the weight of his stare even without looking at him.
“I’m sorry, Spencer,” you said suddenly, staring straight ahead. “I promise there’s nothing wrong. I guess I’m just… off today.” You exhaled, fingers tapping absently against the wheel. The last thing you wanted was for him to think he wasn’t welcome here. “And I am happy to drive us to the airport.”
Spencer was quiet for a moment, but then, in a soft voice, he asked, “Do… do you want to talk about it?”
You swallowed hard, pulling out of the parking lot. The road stretched ahead, but your mind was a tangled mess of thoughts, each one worse than the last.
What were you supposed to say?
Oh hey, Spencer, funny thing—I literally cannot look at you right now because you’re so insanely attractive that I might actually die on the spot?
Yeah. Probably not the best thing to say to a coworker—and more importantly, to the friend you’d been secretly crushing on for longer than you cared to admit.
So instead, you shook your head, offering the safest response you could manage.
“No, it’s nothing.”
You weren’t sure if he believed you. But for now, he didn’t push.
The drive to the airport was short, but thankfully, Spencer had started talking about the case almost immediately. You were relieved—you could focus on the conversation instead of the way your heart kept stupidly skipping beats.
Plus, driving gave you an excuse to not meet his eyes.
That was the problem, wasn’t it? His eyes.
Warm and intelligent, always analyzing, always seeing you in ways that made you feel exposed. So, you kept your attention on the road, discussing victim profiles and behavioral patterns.
Before you knew it, you were pulling into the airport lot.
You parked carefully, turning off the engine as the conversation about the case trailed off. Both of you got out, grabbing your bags before heading toward the jet.
It wasn’t until you were walking side by side—no distractions, no case details to focus on—that Spencer suddenly asked, “What do you think of…” He hesitated. “My haircut?”
You froze for half a second, your grip tightening on the strap of your go-bag.
Oh.
Oh, no.
You hadn’t been prepared for that.
“Uhm—” You stuttered, caught completely off guard, your brain scrambling for a normal, casual response.
You walked slower, suddenly hyperaware of his presence beside you. Spencer matched your steps, his hands tucked into his pockets as he glanced at you, waiting.
Finally, you swallowed and forced yourself to speak. “It looks great,” you said softly. “I like it.”
Spencer tilted his head slightly, watching you. “Yeah?” His lips curved into a small, pleased smile.
“Yeah,” you nodded, willing yourself to keep it together.
But then—because the universe apparently wanted you to suffer—your mouth betrayed you.
“I mean, it makes you look…” You trailed off, but Spencer was still watching you, waiting for you to finish, and oh god, you were already in too deep. You cleared your throat. “Really handsome.”
Spencer blinked.
Your stomach dropped.
You hadn’t meant to say that out loud.
Heat immediately crept up your neck, and you snapped your gaze forward, walking faster in hopes of escaping your own embarrassment. But Spencer—being Spencer—was too damn observant for his own good.
His eyes widened slightly, something clicking in his mind. His posture straightened, his brows lifting ever so slightly as realization dawned.
“That’s why you’ve been avoiding my eyes.”
It wasn’t a question.
Your breath hitched.
“No, no,” you said quickly, shaking your head as you picked up your pace, the jet now in sight. If you just got inside, if you just sat down and pretended this conversation never happened, maybe—maybe—you could salvage what was left of your dignity.
But Spencer wasn’t letting it go that easily.
“Wait—” He reached for your wrist, his touch light but enough to stop you in your tracks.
You swallowed hard.
Slowly, reluctantly, you turned to face him, keeping your eyes trained somewhere near his shoulder instead of his face.
Spencer let out a soft breath, studying you. “So… I was right?”
Your lips parted slightly, but no words came out. Your heart was pounding.
“About you avoiding my eyes,” he clarified, his voice softer now, more careful.
You exhaled sharply, forcing a nervous laugh as you rubbed the back of your neck. “I—no, I just—” You sighed, giving up mid-sentence. Lying to Spencer Reid was pointless. He could probably read you better than you could.
His fingers twitched at his side, like he was debating whether or not to reach for you again. Instead, he tilted his head, his eyes flickering across your face, searching for something. “You think I look… handsome?”
You groaned, shutting your eyes for a brief moment before opening them again. “Spencer, please.”
But he wasn’t teasing. He wasn’t smug. He looked genuinely curious.
And that—somehow—was worse.
You sighed, shoulders slumping in defeat. “Yes, okay? I think you look… really good.” You avoided his gaze, focusing on a spot over his shoulder. “Too good, actually, which is kind of annoying because it makes it really hard to—” You stopped yourself before you could say concentrate at work like a normal human being, realizing how that sounded.
Spencer’s lips parted slightly, as if surprised by your admission. But then, slowly, his mouth curved into a small smile.
Not a smirk, not teasing—just… soft.
Warm.
And something about that undid you a little.
“I didn’t think you noticed things like that about me,” he admitted quietly.
Your eyes snapped to his.
Was he serious?
You let out a disbelieving laugh, shaking your head. “Spencer, are you kidding? Of course I notice things like that about you.”
His smile faltered just slightly, a flicker of something vulnerable crossing his face before he looked down, like he was processing that.
The jet door opened in the distance, voices echoing faintly from inside, but neither of you moved.
Then, after a long moment, Spencer glanced back up at you.
“I think you look really good all the time,” he said simply.
Your breath caught.
Before you could respond, a voice called out from the jet—Derek, naturally. “You two coming or what?”
You cleared your throat, tearing your gaze away from Spencer’s as you took a step toward the jet. “Yeah, coming!” you called back, trying to keep your voice steady.
Spencer fell into step beside you, hands in his pockets, but his small smile remained.
And as you both climbed the steps to the jet, you couldn’t help but think that maybe—just maybe—this conversation wasn’t over yet.

I've got my eyes on you
In which - How did you and the LaDS men start dating? Reader is not mc - except in Caleb's section.
Xavier
The moment you laid eyes on Xavier, you knew you had to have him. How could you not? That strikingly handsome face, those curious blue eyes, and an effortlessly captivating presence—it was impossible to resist.
The first time you approached him was at a grocery store. Your heart pounded against your ribs, threatening to break free from your chest, but you forced yourself to remain composed. Summoning your courage, you struck up a conversation.
He didn’t seem particularly interested, responding with brief, lackluster answers.
‘It’s fine, he’ll warm up to me,’ you assured yourself, determination flickering in your gaze. You had never pursued a man before, but this time was different. There was something about him—something magnetic—that refused to let you walk away.
Somehow, you managed to secure his phone number, and you wasted no time texting him, attempting to revive the conversation from earlier.
With persistence, you chipped away at his guarded demeanor, gradually uncovering bits and pieces of who he was. One particularly useful detail you learned? He lived close by. Another? His cooking skills were, to put it lightly, atrocious.
‘Perfect,’ you mused, making a beeline for your kitchen. It was time to put those cooking classes to good use.
Weeks turned into months, and an unspoken routine formed between the two of you—you would cook, and he would eat. As cliché as it was, the old saying held true: the way to a man’s heart really was through his stomach. Your bond deepened, not in a whirlwind of passion, but in slow, comfortable moments. And you didn’t mind one bit.
Late-night arcade outings, spontaneous hangouts, and occasional movie nights became the norm. And every time he fell asleep beside you, his face soft, his messy hair falling over his slightly flushed cheeks, your heart stuttered in your chest.
But with familiarity came a new problem: you had started to care, truly care, and with that realization, your once-unshakable confidence wavered. Flirting had been easy before, playful and teasing, but now? Now, every word felt heavier, every glance more meaningful. And the worst part? You were sure he didn’t even notice.
The final straw came when you noticed a certain colleague of his getting too close for your liking. That was it. You couldn’t put this off any longer.
“Hey, Xayxay, can you meet up? I want to talk to you about something,” you texted, before promptly throwing your phone onto your bed as if that would somehow lessen the weight of your nerves.
You waited. And waited.
It felt like an eternity.
Then, a sudden knock at your door.
You nearly tripped over yourself in your rush to open it. And there he was—Xavier, slightly breathless, eyes laced with concern, like he had practically run to get here.
“Did something happen?” he asked, stepping inside with the ease of someone who had long since made themselves at home in your space. And you loved that.
You sighed, wringing your hands together.
“Look, I don’t want to put this off any longer…” You hesitated, biting your lip. “Xavier, I like you. More than a friend.”
You braced yourself for rejection. But instead, you were met with his puzzled stare.
“…Aren’t we dating?”
“…What?”
“…What?”
So, it turned out you had nothing to worry about after all.
Zayne
On your way home, you stepped into a charming little pastry shop near the hospital. The aroma of freshly baked goods filled the air, making your mouth water in anticipation. You could already picture yourself sinking your teeth into a rich, decadent cake.
As you stood in line, your gaze landed on a man whose face was so strikingly handsome it felt almost unfair. There was an air of quiet composure about him, an effortless grace that made it nearly impossible to look away. You found yourself studying him, mind racing with ways to strike up a conversation. How often did you come across someone this captivating?
"Excuse me, sir." Your voice took on a honeyed sweetness that made you cringe internally, but desperate times called for desperate measures. "You seem like quite the pastry connoisseur. I don’t come here often, so I’d love a recommendation." A harmless lie.
He turned his gaze toward you, expression unreadable. Crossing his arms, he seemed to consider your question carefully before responding.
"If you’re looking for something light, the macarons are an excellent choice. If you prefer something more substantial, the caramel cheesecake is exquisite." His tone was smooth, assured—like a man who always knew the right answer.
At least he had good taste.
"Ahh, thank you! I’ll definitely try both," you said, flashing him a bright smile. Then, before you could lose your nerve, you added, "If you’re not busy, maybe we could enjoy them together here?"
Where had this sudden boldness come from?
He studied you for a moment, as if weighing his options. Then, with a small nod, he answered, "I do have a break from work right now. Alright."
You nearly leapt with joy, but just as you were about to celebrate internally—
"Ahh, Y/N! My favorite customer! What can I get for you today?" the cashier called out cheerfully.
You froze. Busted.
Despite the momentary embarrassment, the interaction led to an exchange of phone numbers. You didn’t get to see Zayne often due to his demanding career as a doctor, but he always found time to text back, even indulging your occasional rants. Sometimes, he even called. The slow progression of your relationship was something you treasured, a delicate dance of growing affection.
Time passed, and though you longed to ask Zayne out, you hesitated. He almost seemed too good to be true. Would he ever truly be interested in you?
Then, there were the little things—how his gaze lingered a second too long, how his hand seemed to hover over yours before pulling away, how, despite his overwhelming schedule, he always carved out time for you. Were those hints? Or were you reading too much into it?
Your thoughts were abruptly interrupted by the soft ping of a notification. Your heart jumped as you picked up your phone. A message from Zayne.
"Are you free tonight?"
Such a simple text, yet it sent heat rushing through your body.
"For sure! What do you want to do?" you replied, fingers trembling slightly as you awaited his response.
"I’d love to take you out."
Your breath hitched. Take you out. As in… a date?
You stared at the message, searching for any alternate meaning, but there was none.
"I would love that, Zayne," you finally typed, hands shaking.
"Lovely. I’ll pick you up at 7."
You practically sprinted to your room to get ready.
The evening was nothing short of perfect. He took you to a refined restaurant, surprising you with a bouquet of your favorite flowers—proof that he had been listening all along. The air between you was charged with something different, something new yet thrilling.
After dinner, the two of you strolled beneath a sky blanketed with stars, the crisp night air adding an almost cinematic touch to the moment.
"You’re shivering," he observed, his voice as calm and measured as ever. Without hesitation, he slipped off his coat and draped it over your shoulders, the warmth of the fabric—and of him—enveloping you.
"Thank you…" you murmured, smiling softly but avoiding his gaze, afraid he’d see just how deeply he affected you.
"Y/N." He came to a halt, prompting you to stop as well. His tone was composed, yet there was an unfamiliar weight behind it.
"I would love to take you out more… What I mean is, would you do me the honor of being my girlfriend?" His face remained impassive, but you swore you caught the faintest hint of a blush gracing his cheeks.
Your heart nearly exploded.
"I would love nothing more, Zayne."
Rafayel
Being an art enthusiast, you often found yourself wandering through exhibitions, losing yourself in the beauty of each piece. Tonight, however, felt different. This was Rafayel’s exhibition—a name that had long held a certain power over you. His art possessed an almost hypnotic quality, evoking emotions so profound that you struggled to put them into words.
As you moved through the gallery, your gaze inevitably found him. Rafayel stood amidst a small group of admirers, answering their questions with an effortless confidence. His voice was smooth, steady, rich with an underlying intensity that made it impossible to ignore.
But it wasn’t just his voice that captivated you. He was a masterpiece himself—dressed in a crisp white blouse, his dark hair slightly tousled, his sharp eyes carrying a quiet depth. There was something about the way he carried himself, as if knowing the effect he had on people.
You didn't want to appear as just another admirer swooning over the artist. Your fascination went beyond that—you were genuinely intrigued by his mind, his process. So, when the crowd around him began to disperse, leaving him momentarily alone, you took a steadying breath and approached him. He stood before one of his paintings, his gaze heavy with contemplation.
"You truly know how to capture a moment," you mused, your voice steady but tinged with admiration. "This piece in particular—it feels almost melancholic, like someone longing for something just out of reach."
Rafayel’s eyes flicked toward you, scanning your face, weighing your words. For a brief moment, you feared he might dismiss you with the same aloofness he granted others, but instead, his lips curved into something almost thoughtful. And just like that, an unspoken understanding passed between you, giving way to a conversation that carried on far longer than you had expected.
That first meeting was the spark. You found yourself returning to his exhibitions more often, drawn not just to his art but to him. It became a quiet routine—the two of you engaging in deep discussions, learning the intricacies of each other's thoughts and mannerisms. At first, Rafayel maintained his usual air of arrogance, teasing and enigmatic, but with time, you glimpsed something more—something raw and unguarded beneath the facade.
It wasn’t long before your admiration deepened into something more. You had fallen for him, hopelessly so. And you liked to think, in stolen moments of lingering glances and fleeting touches, that perhaps he felt the same.
One evening, you found yourself in his studio, sitting on the floor as he worked, the only sounds being the occasional stroke of his brush against canvas. The atmosphere was comforting, intimate in a way words couldn’t quite capture.
“You’re unusually quiet,” he remarked, his tone laced with amusement. You rolled your eyes, looking up at him from your spot on the floor.
“And you’re talkative, as always.” A soft smile played on your lips as you stood and walked toward him.
“Rafayel, can I ask you something?” The hesitation in your voice made him pause. He turned to face you, one brow arched in curiosity.
“Why so serious?” he asked, studying you intently.
You scoffed lightly. “Never mind, then.”
He let out a small sigh. "You’ve already started. Might as well finish."
You hesitated for a beat before finally speaking. “Do you… have someone you like? More than a friend, I mean.”
For a fleeting second, something unreadable passed through his gaze. Then, a slow smirk tugged at his lips. “Curious, aren’t you?”
“Maybe.”
He exhaled a quiet chuckle before answering, “There is someone. She’s insufferably stubborn, a little reckless, and quite possibly the clumsiest person I’ve ever met.” His gaze softened, a rare warmth creeping into his tone. “And yet, she’s also the most endearing.”
Your heart pounded against your ribs. “You need to be more specific.”
He rolled his eyes, shaking his head. “If you weren’t so oblivious, you’d figure it out.”
A teasing smile spread across your lips. “Wait—are you talking about me?” You nudged him playfully.
He said nothing, his focus returning to his painting.
Oh.
“YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT ME?” you blurted, eyes wide with disbelief.
“Don’t flatter yourself. It’s just a small crush,” he scoffed, though the faint pink dusting his ears betrayed him.
A laugh bubbled out of you, pure and unrestrained. “Aww, Rafayel! I like you too.”
His expression flickered with surprise before he quickly masked it with his usual confidence. “Of course you do. Who wouldn’t?”
Despite his words, his actions spoke differently—pulling you into his arms, he pressed a tender kiss to your temple, lingering for just a moment longer than necessary.
Perhaps, just this once, he didn’t mind wearing his heart on his sleeve.
Sylus
Sleep had eluded you, leaving you restless and craving the crisp night air. The city was bathed in the gentle glow of streetlights, the sky an endless expanse of inky black adorned with shimmering stars. Their quiet brilliance was captivating, an ethereal distraction that kept your gaze skyward as you wandered aimlessly through the quiet streets.
Lost in thought, you didn’t notice the figure in your path until you collided with him.
“Oh! I’m so sorry—” you started, but your words caught in your throat as you looked up at him.
The man before you was striking. Towering in stature, his silver hair gleamed beneath the moonlight, tousled in a way that made it appear effortlessly elegant. But it was his eyes that truly seized your breath—deep crimson, piercing and intense, as if they could unravel every secret hidden within you. His features were sharp, sculpted to perfection, and his presence exuded an air of undeniable dominance.
He regarded you with a smirk, his amusement evident.
“Worry not, sweet thing,” he murmured, his voice a velvety caress against your senses. The smoothness of his tone sent a shiver down your spine, deepening the warmth blooming in your cheeks. His gaze flickered over your face, noting your reaction, and his smirk grew ever so slightly.
Only then did you realize what else you had stumbled upon. A few feet away, a man knelt on the pavement, head bowed, his entire posture trembling before the silver-haired stranger. The sight sent unease prickling up your spine.
What exactly had you just walked into?
The silver-haired man followed your gaze before exhaling softly. “Ah,” he mused, as if debating what to say. “A young lady like you shouldn’t be wandering alone at this hour. The night is filled with monsters, after all.”
The way he said it, with that knowing glint in his crimson eyes, sent a fresh wave of unease through you. Somehow, you knew he wasn’t speaking metaphorically. But instead of pressing for answers, something in you decided it was best not to ask.
“I was just out for some air. I should…probably head home now.” You forced a steady voice, willing your body not to betray the apprehension creeping into your bones. Every instinct in you screamed to run, yet your legs remained locked in place, unwilling to reveal your fear.
He tilted his head slightly, watching you. Then, with a slow, deliberate movement, he crossed his arms over his broad chest. “Allow me to escort you.”
Your breath hitched. “You seem more dangerous than whatever else is lurking out here.”
A rich chuckle escaped him, dark and amused. “A fair observation.” He leaned in slightly, his gaze never wavering. “But that decision, my dear, is entirely yours.”
Despite every warning sign flashing in your mind, you hesitated. There was something about him—his presence was undeniably commanding, yet oddly reassuring. And then, there was the nagging feeling that he was familiar, though you couldn't place why.
Eventually, you gave a small nod, curiosity overpowering reason.
And so began your entanglement with Sylus. The enigmatic man came and went like a shadow, slipping in and out of your life at his whim. Some nights, he would appear unexpectedly, gifting you your favorite sweets or leaving a new dress draped across your doorstep with no explanation. Tickets to your favorite concerts would mysteriously find their way into your mailbox, the sender unstated but obvious.
It was infuriating. It was intoxicating. He was impossible to understand, yet he made you feel desired—seen in a way no one else ever had.
But after monthsof his unpredictable vanishing acts, your patience wore thin. So when he strolled into your apartment one evening, pouring himself a glass of the wine you had bought earlier, you finally snapped.
“You’re confusing me,” you blurted, frustration lacing your tone. “What am I to you, Sylus?”
He glanced at you, his expression unreadable. He raised the glass to his lips but paused, considering your words. Slowly, he set the drink down and approached you, his crimson eyes locking onto yours. When he reached out to cup your cheek, you instinctively pushed his hand away, resolve burning in your gaze.
He sighed. Vulnerability did not come easily to him; that much was clear. But you were different. You had made him a little softer, a little weaker in ways he didn’t quite understand.
“I can’t keep living in uncertainty,” you continued, voice steadier now. “Either tell me what you want, or leave me alone.”
A beat of silence stretched between you before he spoke, his voice low, certain.
“I want you.”
The simplicity of the statement sent your heart racing. You hadn’t expected him to be so direct, nor for his words to carry such weight.
Your face grew hot. “You’re an idiot.”
A quiet chuckle rumbled in his chest as you sighed, resting your head against him, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. He smelled of something rich and warm, a scent you couldn’t quite place but already found comforting.
“You’re lucky you’re cute,” you mumbled, a small smile tugging at your lips.
Sylus merely hummed in amusement, his arms wrapping around you with the quiet possessiveness of a man who had no intention of letting go.
Caleb
After your reunion with Caleb, an unfamiliar feeling took root in your chest—no, not unfamiliar. It had always been there, buried beneath layers of friendship and denial. But now, it was impossible to ignore. Suddenly, you were hyper-aware of just how much of a man he had become.
His kind yet brooding eyes, that boyish grin, the intoxicating scent that lingered on his clothes—had he always smelled this good? Broad shoulders, strong arms, hands that had always handled you with ease, lifting you effortlessly whenever. The thought alone sent heat creeping up your cheeks, and the man sitting across from you clearly took notice.
“What’s got you all blushy-blushy, pipsqueak?” he teased, pinching your cheek with that infuriatingly smug smirk.
You scoffed, turning your face away. “Don’t touch my face, Caleb! I have makeup on.”
Lately, you’d found yourself caring more about your appearance around him. It was absurd. He’d seen you at your absolute worstbedhead, tears, even the aftermath of too much liquor. Yet now, every glance he sent your way made you feel… shy? What was happening to you?
He only chuckled in response, leaning back against his chair.
The two of you had met up at a café to play Kitty Cards, an old favorite. He always let you win, though he never admitted it. You pretended not to notice, but every time you did, it made you smile—just a little.
“Alright, come on. The movie’s gonna start soon.” He stood, extending his hand toward you. Without hesitation, you took it, savoring the warmth of his rough palm against yours.
The movie of choice was a horror film—Caleb’s idea, of course. You had agreed, partly to humor him and partly because any excuse to spend more time with him was welcome.
Inside the theater, you sat beside him, the glow of the screen illuminating his sharp features. The flickering light made his eyes glimmer, and for a moment, you were caught staring. You quickly looked away, but not before he noticed. Of course he noticed.
“You’re acting weird.” His gaze lingered on you, his voice laced with curiosity.
“I—uh—I’m on my period,” you blurted, grasping for an excuse. “That’s all. I just feel a little unwell.”
His expression softened instantly. “You should’ve told me. Do you want to go home? I’ll cook you some soup, and we can watch something there instead.”
There he was again—always caring, always thinking of you. It made your heart race, and you hated how easily he could do that to you.
“No, it’s fine. Let’s just watch the movie.”
As the film progressed, it proved to be far scarier than you’d anticipated. Without realizing it, you had latched onto Caleb’s hand. He chuckled at your reaction but didn’t pull away.
Then came the jump scare.
Out of reflex, you turned toward him, seeking comfort. But at the same moment, he turned toward you.
Peck.
Your lips brushed against his.
Your breath hitched. His eyes widened slightly, and for a few heart-stopping seconds, neither of you moved. Neither of you spoke. Just stared.
“I’m so sorry!” you yelped, whipping your head away in mortification.
“Hey, it’s fine, pipsqueak.” He gave you a reassuring smile. “It was an accident.”
You didn’t know why, but his words stung a little.
“…Yeah.”
By the time you returned home, your shoulders were weighed down with something heavy, something unspoken. It gnawed at you, clawed at your chest.
Caleb, as if sensing your turmoil, placed his hands on your shoulders, turning you to face him. “Alright, that’s enough. Tell me what’s wrong.”
You swallowed hard, your gaze dropping to the floor before gathering the courage to meet his eyes.
“Caleb… would it be selfish of me if I said I want to kiss you again?”
Silence. A single, tense moment stretched between you, thick enough to drown in. Then, without a word, he reached for you. His hands cupped your face, disregarding your earlier complaint about ruining your makeup, and with a quiet exhale, he pressed his lips to yours.
The kiss was brief, tender—yet it held the weight of something long overdue. In that moment, you knew he was no longer only your best friend.

𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝟑
Driving in a car next to your ex, after practically throwing yourself at him and pressing a sudden, still somewhat incomprehensible kiss to his lips, was a little, let's say, awkward
You were heading to the apartment pinpointed by one of Spencer's team members, which allegedly belonged to Clinton Richardson, the man you suspected to be the previously elusive accomplice of The Waterside Butcher. Given how easily Garcia had tracked him down, you hadn’t expected to actually find him there. However, you had to search the place, find out anything more about him than the scant information Rosas had provided. Get inside his mind. Figure out where he might be hiding, where they were holding Rebekah.
In the silence that settled between the two of you, you tried to maintain a straight, dignified posture. To play it completely cool about what had happened. One simple thought helped you with that—maybe it had been your impulsive initiative, but it was fully picked up by Spencer.
The way he cupped your face as soon as he realized what was happening. The pressure of his lips on yours, hungry, insatiable, and unrelenting with time. A sigh when he pulled away, the confusion creeping into his soft eyes.
A gentle shake of his head, as if he was already starting to regret it.
You regretted it too. It only thickened the atmosphere, which was already sharp enough to cut with a knife. In your apartment, you had made a bet—the first person to find Richardson would get one of what you considered the most beautiful and genuine photos from your time together. After what had happened, however, you couldn’t imagine just handing it to him without a word, so you simply kept it in your jacket pocket.
There was still some way to go ahead of you, the heavy midday traffic causing terrible jams, and you could no longer bear the silence nor the unreadable, fixed expression on his face as he stared at the road.
"Well," you started, clearing your throat. It felt like he flinched at the sound of your voice. God, when did you both turn into such idiots? "Just to be clear, it wasn’t...personal. You know what I mean. Kind of like checking if your favorite dessert from an old favorite restaurant still tastes the same."
If it weren’t for the fact that he glanced at you for a moment, you would’ve slammed your forehead into the dashboard. It was one of the worst things you could have said, but well, you couldn’t take your words back now.
“Favorite dessert. Checking,” he repeated in a disbelieving tone. His eyebrows shot up high, and he looked back at the road. Only then did they fall, and he shook his head from side to side. There was a trace of amusement in that gesture. Well, at least he wasn’t angry about the choice of words. “Okay.”
Not knowing what to do with yourself, you pretended to examine your nails.
“And does it still taste good?” Spencer asked after a long pause.
“What?” You shifted, distracted in your seat.
“I’m asking if it still tastes good.”
You hesitated for a moment before answering, and then a laugh gathered in your chest, a burst of it you didn’t let out loud. Instead, you held back, offering only a brief smile, a flash of teeth. Spencer glanced at you from the corner of his eye, seeming less tense than before. Some things were probably easier for you to talk about in metaphors, even if they were simple ones.
“Well, it was favorite for a reason," you said after a moment, gently, though you tried to sound casual.
The photo in your pocket.
Spencer smiled in that subtle way, where only the corners of his lips moved, his eyes remaining unchanged, thoughtful. And with that, the stage of pretending it never happened began.
The apartment that was supposedly owned by your suspect was located in a fairly decent neighborhood—at least nicer than the one Rebekah lived in—which filled you with a bitter sense of injustice. After you dealt with the lock, you both stepped inside cautiously, scanning for any potential occupant, but the place was empty.
"Not exactly how I pictured the place of someone they call The Butcher in the media," you muttered, stepping lightly on the birchwood floor beneath the bright walls.
Spencer hesitated for a moment, that familiar analytical look crossing his face. You stopped a few steps from him, hands stiff on your hips, unable to stop watching him instead of the surroundings. The slight crease between his brows as he crossed the kitchen, probably already knowing what your unsub had for breakfast every Thursday, just from one greasy, barely noticeable stain on the wall. His lips pressed together, and you realized you couldn’t ignore that part of his face anymore. You sighed, annoyed with yourself. Seriously, now?
“Did you expect a torture chamber instead of a bedroom?” he asked as you both crossed the threshold into the room. It was less tidy than the rest of the place, a sign that he spent more time here. Some things were out of place, and there was a pile of loose papers building up on the desk.
While Spencer was analyzing the papers, you walked over to the window, squinting as the midday light hit your eyes. You gently traced your finger along the leaf of the plant on the windowsill before dipping your finger into the soil.
“It’s dry,” you noted briefly, suddenly focused. He must not have been here for a few days. “Damn, maybe my imagination is just really poor, but I can’t picture a guy who does that kind of thing to women calmly watering his plants every morning. It’s just...grotesque.”
He shrugged in response, Reid’s eyes never leaving the things on the desk.
“Lots of violent, serial offenders lead lives that we’d consider normal,” he began. A lecturer's expression, you thought to yourself immediately. You’d always liked it when he explained things to you—he was the only one who could do it in a way that didn’t make you feel dumb for not understanding a concept. And, well, you liked listening to him. “Well, we once had a case with a cannibal who had a bunch of teddy bears in his house,” he added.
You couldn’t help but snort.
“Stuffed with human guts instead of fluff?”
Spencer finally looked up at you, slowly.
“No,” he replied shortly, raising an eyebrow. “They were perfectly normal teddy bears. And, you know, I’m starting to be glad that your criminal activities haven’t gone beyond robberies and theft.”
“And stolen goods trafficking.”
“Oh, right. Sorry for leaving out one of your...key specializations.”
“It’s fine. Got anything?”
You joined him in searching through the desk, standing so close that your shoulders brushed briefly. You told yourself it was only because you didn’t want to miss any clues.
“There are a few sketches here,” Spencer informed you, his chest rising slightly, which you noticed because he turned to face you sideways. There was barely a step between you. “They look a little...chaotic.”
You flipped open a random notebook, spotting the mentioned sketches—simple drawings and doodles. You kept flipping, not giving them much attention.
“Probably drew them when he didn’t know what to do with his hands during phone calls,” you said. You shrugged at his look. “I know, because I do the same.”
“I don’t recall ever seeing you do that,” he remarked.
When we lived together...the unfinished sentence hung in the air, settling lightly on your shoulders.
You took a deep breath.
“Well, back then, I was more into sending messages than having actual conversations,” you admitted, and it was true. Out of the corner of your eye, you noticed him slightly parting his lips, about to say something, when suddenly your gaze landed on something on the last page of the notebook you were flipping through. “Look, a phone number,”
Spencer leaned in to take a closer look, tilting his head a bit, which brought his slightly too-long hair into your reach again. The familiar scent slowly drifted to your nose. Spencer probably didn’t even realize how close he’d gotten, too absorbed in his thoughts. Still, you couldn’t help but find it amusing. After all, just a few days ago, he had pointed a gun at you and kept the greatest distance possible.
He straightened up, and you noticed the change in his expression. You stayed perfectly still, not moving, not backing away. It might sound strange, but you wanted to see how you affected him. Would he have done what you did on the staircase if it hadn’t been for you? Did he genuinely want to do it too, or was it simply the conversation over the pictures that had lured you both into the trap of sentimentality, the nostalgic need to revisit an old dessert?
“You know this number?” you asked, surprised.
You hadn’t expected such a thing to happen, yet here it was. Spencer nodded.
“I remember it,” he admitted. At the same time, his voice carried a note of readiness, excitement about moving the investigation forward with this newly found clue... and an unexpected hint of awkwardness, as he briefly scratched his forehead before placing the notebook back on the desk. “It’s a brothel’s number.”
Your eyebrows shot up mockingly.
“You remember the number of a…”
“You have no idea how often the FBI uses their services,” he blurted defensively.
A beat of silence followed, then his eyes widened, and he quickly shook his head. “No, that’s not what I meant, for God’s sake. I mean, prostitutes often have a lot of information about different people and can be useful…”
“Tsss…” you silenced him with a playful swirl of your finger near his lips, amused by his rushed, nervous reaction.
Spencer glanced down at your finger, his lower lip jutting out slightly as if he wanted to add something, but his brilliant mind failed to produce anything coherent. Even if it had, you wouldn’t have cared.
You couldn’t let go of the topic anyway—you always enjoyed teasing him too much, loved seeing that faint blush color his stubbled cheeks.
“You don’t have to explain yourself, seriously.”
You had the strange feeling his gaze lingered a little too intently as you slowly swallowed, forcing you to cross your arms over your chest, creating a small barrier to keep your focus. You blinked slowly, mischievously.
“I’m not interested in where you sought comfort after our breakup.”
He literally gasped.
“This is…” he began with a deep sigh, taking half a step back from you. “This is…I swear, this is the most narcissistic thing that has ever come out of your mouth. And there have been plenty.”
You gave a mock salute.
“See, I like breaking my own records,” you muttered.
Spencer’s gaze suddenly shifted from you back to the desk. He sighed, like he was grounding himself after drifting somewhere else.
“We should…we should call that number. Maybe set up a meeting. See if we can learn something more about him than the fact he doodles in the margins when he’s on the phone.”
You nodded in agreement, sliding your hands into the pockets of your jacket.
“Didn’t think I’d ever say this, but you’re right. Let’s meet your hooker.”
Spencer rolled his eyes.
“You’re ridiculous.”
“Want me to dictate the number, or do you remember it?”
“I get the feeling you’re not letting this go anytime soon.”
“And you’re absolutely right, Spencer,” you agreed. “Absolutely right.”
*
“He made you do… what?!”
Your raised voice filled the car.
Quick recap—you’d managed to set up a meeting with a prostitute, whose services, after a few hours of digging, you’d confirmed Clinton Richardson had used. By now, it had gotten dark, and you were seriously starting to wonder if this wasn’t just a complete waste of time. You knew the rest of the BAU was busy searching for Rebekah using other methods, but the nagging feeling that you could be doing more refused to let go.
On top of that, the fact that Robert Miller had completely vanished since his escape from prison weighed heavily on you. No one had seen him filling up the stolen car at a gas station, wearing a baseball cap. No one had heard him break into a nearby house seeking shelter through the cold night. They must have had a plan—one that played out well beyond your reach.
Though you tried to push it away, a rising sense of dread filled you.
The escort slid into the backseat of the car, introducing herself briefly as Andy. Distracted by your own worries, you couldn't stop the words that escaped your mouth.
“Andy’s not exactly a very hooker-ish name”
The woman shrugged indifferently. She seemed only slightly tense about speaking with the cops (or, well, with one cop). She wore a light white fur coat draped over her shoulders, and, to put it plainly, she was stunningly beautiful.
"Well, I didn't pick it," she shrugged.
"How old are you?" Spencer suddenly asked, turning slightly in his seat.
You exchanged a look. She did seem alarmingly young despite the heavy makeup on her face.
"Are you doing some kind of interview or what?" she scoffed. "Last I checked, you were supposed to ask me questions about one of my clients. So, I'm waiting. And for the record, I'm twenty-three."
You’d asked her the first few questions to confirm if the man she’d met was indeed Clinton Richardson. Garcia had even sent over his photo, and after a quick glance, Andy nodded, confirming it was him.
And now, back to where we left off.
“He made you do what?!”
Andy grimaced. You would’ve done the same if you weren’t absolutely stunned. You glanced sideways at Spencer, who had straightened up in his seat, his brows furrowed deeply as if he thought he’d misheard. Honestly, you’d thought the same at first.
You drew in a deeper breath, trying to steady yourself. Spencer shot you a glance, his expression tense. There was no doubt anymore—this was the man you were looking for.
“Chop off chicken heads,” the woman repeated reluctantly, pulling her fur coat tighter around herself. A flicker of discomfort crossed her face—one that hadn’t been there the first time she’d mentioned it. Apparently, saying it again brought the memory into sharper focus, and you felt a pang of guilt for making her relive it. She sighed. “While he was mastrubating”
Andy had nothing more to offer, no leads to help you track down his current location, and that realization sent a wave of frustration crashing over you. Not at her, of course, but at the fact that this case was moving forward at a painfully slow pace. Sure, you knew it was Richardson now. But what next? How were you supposed to find him before he and Robert hurt Rebekah?
You scrubbed a hand over your face, then clenched it into a fist to stop the trembling. Spencer's gaze dropped to your hand, and he tried to catch your eye, but you didn’t want that—not right now.
“Andy,” you called out just as she pushed the car door open, stopping her in her tracks. Your voice came out rough, an edge of desperation bleeding through. An impulsive decision bloomed in your mind, taking root before you could second-guess it. “We...took up some of your time. Would you have had a client during it?”
The woman looked at you with a skeptical hesitation, unsure of what you meant.
“Yeah, I think so.”
Instead of saying anything else, you reached into your pocket for the cash you’d taken from your apartment and shoved it into her hand, her perfectly manicured nails catching the light. At first, her face remained neutral, but when she saw how many bills were stacked together, her eyes widened.
“You’re kidding me.”
“No. It’s for you. Payment for your help.”
“But this…” she started, meeting your gaze. You nodded seriously, confirming she could keep the money. Andy blinked, hesitated for a moment, then slipped it into her pocket before clearing her throat. “I…thank you. Seriously. It’s way more than I’d have made in that time. So... good luck finding that freak.”
“It’ll come in handy,” you muttered under your breath.
Andy closed the door behind her, and you followed her figure, wrapped in white fur, as it stood out against the night’s dark expanse. The interior of the car was filled with silence, the orange light from the overhead lamp casting shadows on both your faces. When you saw the grimace on the woman's face as she talked about Richardson, you immediately thought of Rebekah. About how her fate rested in the hands of the same man who had made Andy do things like that. You were also filled with sympathy for her, knowing she must have gone through it. She most likely didn’t have the option to refuse.
“It was a lot of money,” Spencer said after a long pause.
There was this heavy feeling of helplessness hanging in the air. What now? Where the hell were you supposed to go? Who else did you need to talk to? It hurt in your chest, and you sighed.
“Well, who knows,” you said, bitterly, not looking at him, your eyes on the windshield. “Who knows what’s gonna happen. That girl could really use the money. If something happens to me...it’d go to waste...”
You stopped, freezing when you felt a touch on your knee. A gentle pressure, filled with some kind of concern. You lowered your gaze, almost in a trance, watching his fingers spread out over the fabric of your pants, holding onto it.
“Don’t think like that,” he said, swallowing hard, his voice pleading.
You forced yourself to pull your gaze away from his hand and look straight into his eyes. He held your gaze, and there was something warm in it, something you almost wanted to sink into. You could have just nodded, let him take care of everything, let him protect you. But from the very beginning, you knew that wasn’t how this was supposed to go. You didn’t want to be just a passive part of the story, waiting meekly for the tragedy that was about to unfold. You wanted to stop it.
“Spencer, we’ve practically got nothing,” you said quietly, but there was a frustrated silence in your voice.
“That’s not true. We have...we have a profile.”
“We have Miller’s profile from two years ago, practically nothing new, and fragmentary info about Richardson. You can’t build a profile just from the fact that he had a prostitute decapitate chickens…”
“I can,” he interrupted with sudden confidence. His hand on your knee tightened, and he probably didn’t even realize it. You didn’t ask him to move it, even though the whole scene—the car, the night, his hand placed like that—was taking you back two years, to when all of this felt natural, a part of your everyday life together. You started to stop thinking about it with simple sentimentality. Since your kiss, there had been this indescribable longing you wanted to get rid of, but every interaction seemed to just intensify it.
Spencer took a breath before speaking slowly.
“Well, maybe not just based on the chickens... but we know so much about his childhood. He grew up across from the Millers, him, the poor kid. Dysfunctional parents, Joseph Miller was like a father figure to him. He had to respect him, idealize him, which is why he visited him recently when his condition worsened. His relationship with the rest of the Miller family… it had to be complicated with Robert. He was probably jealous of him, but because he was able to easily manipulate him, he never saw him as a threat. Robert, on the other hand, treated him like an older brother he never had, trusted him completely. So Richardson had his perfect picture after his parents died. A father, a younger brother, their shared sailing trips, the time spent together. The only thing that bothered him, the only thing he saw as a problem was...
“Robert Miller’s mother,” you finished, already seeing exactly what he was picturing in his mind. The pieces were falling into place, like the image on a puzzle box showing what it should look like when it’s put together. “Unlike her husband, she didn’t treat him like her son. She was part of all their trips, their cruises…during one of them, he pushed her off the boat. But why…”
“Robert took the fall for it,” Spencer answered the question you hadn’t asked, but one he could see had formed in your mind. “He did it to protect someone he saw as an older brother. They...they’re a classic example of a duo working together. One is clearly dominant, here, Richardson, and the other follows his lead, lets himself be manipulated. That’s Miller. And I think... I think...okay, these are just my assumptions...Richardson is responsible for all thirteen murders.”
For a moment, you went silent, furrowing your brow deeply.
“But...but you said you interrogated Miller. And you were sure he committed the murders.”
“Or he believed he committed them,” he added.
You shook your head in confusion, waiting for him to explain.
“I don’t think this was a typical murder duo. They didn’t kill together. Richardson kept the women in Miller’s vacation house. When Miller was arrested, he wouldn’t turn over someone he thought of as a brother, so he took the blame. And over time, through manipulation, he started believing he’d actually committed the murders himself. Just like he believed he killed his own mother. That’s why the polygraph always showed he was telling the truth, why we thought he was the killer. All this time, he truly believed he was The Waterside Butcher—he was stuck in a deep delusion. Meanwhile, our real unsub was still out there.”
You sighed in admiration at how he connected all the dots. You knew he was a brilliant profiler, you knew it well, but you were still shocked at how one person could dive so deeply into the psychology of crime.
“I wanna kiss your brain,” you blurted out.
Spencer’s breathing came out in irregular bursts as he rattled off sentence after sentence without pause. After your words, he paused for a moment—a small, tired smile tugged at his lips.
“You're welcome,” he replied, then slowly easing his grip on your knee before pulling his hand back. He looked at you uncertainly, as if wondering what you made of his gesture. “Although, that would require a surgeon.”
The dry joke broke the tension, adding a strangely sweet awkwardness to the moment. You snorted.
“I’d manage,” you said, mentally giving yourself a little nudge on the forehead. “But you need to update your team about all this. You have to pass on the profile.”
Spencer nodded in agreement. You could feel the air between you cool slightly—as if a splash of cold water had just run under your shirts on an unbearably hot day. With the same hand that had been on your knee, he reached for his phone, though he didn’t dial a number immediately.
“It’s pretty late,” he began, nodding toward the cars outside the window—as if you hadn’t noticed it was night. Well, you had, for a moment, forgotten. “No offense, but you look exhausted. You should probably get some sleep. I’m just wondering…do you have somewhere to stay? You shouldn’t be sleeping there alone.”
He put an emphasis on the word sleeping. It’s one thing to stay there fully awake, weapon in hand, but quite another to let yourself fall into that vulnerable state of unconsciousness.
You slowly shrugged your shoulders.
“I’d probably rather go back there,” you admitted, even though the idea didn’t really appeal to you. You sighed, and his face twisted in confusion. “You know, I have a lot of neighbors. And a lot of women, too. I’m afraid one of them might run into him…if he came for me.”
For a moment, he looked like he wanted to talk you out of it—he even opened his mouth, only to close it almost immediately. It was hard to argue with that.
“Alright,” he said slowly, turning his phone in his hand. “But in that case, let me stay with you.”
A surprised sound escaped your mouth.
"Seriously? You want that?"
"I just don't want anything to happen to you."
You knew you wouldn’t be able to sleep a wink in your own apartment, yet you still felt a hint of hesitation. Things had already taken a wild turn that day—everything was changing. The verbal barbs between you weren’t laced with resentment anymore; they’d turned into a playful game that often ended in genuine bursts of laughter and smiles. You’d literally kissed. He’d touched your leg, shown care. And now, on top of it all, you were going to spend the night in the same apartment. Quite an odd situation for two exes.
The direction all this was heading remained somewhat unclear. You were so preoccupied with the case—the murderer hot on your heels—that you barely considered what would happen when it all came to an end. How would you say goodbye once more before both of you returned to your separate, opposing lives?
Spencer noticed your hesitation. His jaw clenched ever so slightly as his mind worked on a way to convince you—but he didn't really need to. As a criminal, you often thought about the consequences of your actions. You saw them clearly, analyzed every detail. Yet even the clearest vision of those consequences rarely stopped you from carrying out your plans. After all, if it did, you wouldn’t last long in this line of work.
You nodded in agreement, allowing him to stay with you.
*
You knew how it would play out.
First, you'd both slowly cross the threshold of your apartment, arguing about who should sleep in the bedroom and who on the couch, but in the end, you'd both end up side by side on the couch, trying to keep the conversation light and casual, along with your body language, and a second later, you'd start kissing, letting go of everything that had been hanging between you all day.
It was really predictable. Which didn’t mean you didn’t enjoy it.
“You know…” Spencer started when your lips gave him a chance to open his own. “I think there’s a certain question…” he was silenced. “...that we should both ask ourselves.”
“If it’s what are we? I’m leaving.”
"It's your apartment. Just saying."
"We’d be having a lot more fun if you shut up. Just saying."
With a soft sigh, you pulled away from him, moving your face just enough to be able to talk freely. But not enough to make him stop feeling threatened by the prospect of you shutting him up at any moment. Just saying.
"You wanted to ask about that, right?" you asked quietly.
He shrugged slightly, and because you were leaning against his chest, you felt that little shiver.
"Maybe in different words. But with the same general meaning."
With a thoughtful look, you ran your hand over the buttons of his burgundy shirt. Spencer followed the smooth motion of your hand with his eyes, gently tightening his grip around your waist. The position, the way your bodies were arranged, the closeness—it felt so natural. It was how it should be.
"Did you miss me?" you asked suddenly. "All those nearly two years."
"And you?" he shot the question back at you. You tilted your head, staring at him. You weren’t going to answer, not until he did first, though your answer wasn’t really dependent on his. You were honest with your feelings, even with yourself. Even if he said he hadn’t thought about you once or never missed you on the other side of the bed, it wouldn’t change the fact that you missed him. You’d had no trouble admitting before that, in some way, you'd always love him. "I missed you. How could I not?"
The soft question thrown into the space between you made you pout your bottom lip slightly. His gaze drifted to it briefly, but didn’t stay there—it landed somewhere else. A tiny spot just below your collarbone, a mark in the shape of the number pi. He leaned in to brush it with his lips, first briefly, then more deliberately, and you placed your hand in his slightly too long hair.
“I want to know what’s gonna happen with us when all this finally ends,” he muttered, his breath tickling your skin. You lifted your eyelids, which had fluttered shut in drowsiness and pleasure. “I missed you, that’s true, you missed me…I’d dare to bet that you did too. Correct me if I’m wrong. I don’t know…I just don’t know if that’s enough. For us…for it to work, something would have to change…”
Of course, he meant the different life paths you had chosen, your involvement in crime, your long-standing ties to the criminal underworld.
"Spencer," you said his name slowly, cupping his face in your hands so you could look into it. Okay, bad move. His brown eyes made it harder to focus. "It’s...it’s not that simple, you know that. It’s practically my whole life." You paused, swallowing. "I can’t think about it right now. Not with everything going on. My mind...I just can’t tell you anything right now. Except that I want you."
For a moment, he hesitated to answer, a sigh escaping from his chest. It sounded disappointed.
“I want you too,” he admitted, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world, a statement that applies to every possible case with no exceptions. “Exactly like I did back then. And you know it wasn’t enough.”
You pressed your lips together.
“I know.”
For a moment, you both just stared at each other, neither of you moving in any way. The silence was overwhelming, making your breaths perfectly audible. You felt tired of everything that had been happening—not just around you in the last few days, but also inside your head. You needed... you probably just needed to rest your head on his chest, inhale his scent, think seriously about the two of you, then step outside for fresh air and reconsider it, sober. Then compare both conclusions. The corners of your mouth trembled. You wanted to suggest you both just lie down and sleep when his phone rang.
“They need me,” he explained when the call ended, rising from the couch, detaching himself from your body. You nodded in understanding. But he didn’t head for the door. Instead, he paused, staring at you. “You shouldn’t stay here…”
“I’ll find a hotel,” you cut him off. He raised his eyebrows, clearly not convinced by the idea.
“I won’t get a wink of sleep here, and I’m exhausted. I’ll make sure no one’s following me. Trust me, if there’s one thing I know how to do, it’s that,” you snorted softly.
Of course, you were a little worried about your neighbors' safety, but you couldn’t figure out a way to protect both them and yourself. Part of you wanted to stay inside, fueled by caffeine with a loaded gun in hand, waiting for the moment someone tried to mess with the lock. But you didn’t even mention that to Spencer—you knew exactly how he’d react. Not a chance.
He pulled you into one last, lingering embrace before leaving. It seemed like an unspoken agreement to temporarily abandon the topic of what would happen between you two later.
Reluctantly, you made your way to the bedroom. The last time you’d been there, you’d taken almost all the cash hidden in the photo album, which you later gave to Andy. A few bills still remained between the pages—just enough for a night in some hotel and a cup of coffee. You snapped the album shut, but one of the photos slipped out, drifting down like a leaf on the wind, sliding under the dresser.
You sighed. You felt too exhausted to even bend down for it, but after an internal struggle, you finally gave in. First, you dropped to your knees, then sprawled flat on your stomach to reach under the furniture and retrieve it. But as soon as your face got close to the floor…you noticed a strange smell.
Faint, yet distinct. You thought it might be a figment of your imagination, but after inhaling a few more times, you were certain. Sickly sweet in a way, unfamiliar, but it reminded you of an odd mix of rotting meat, damp earth…maybe even mold?
Ignoring the photo, you got to your feet. The smell was coming from your elderly neighbor Erika’s apartment. You realized you hadn’t seen her in a while—not even heard her poodle barking, which was usually relentless with its evening performances. Dark thoughts raced through your mind. She had a bad hip—maybe she’d fallen…
Before you even realized it, you were pulling on your jacket.
The door wasn’t even locked, which only heightened your sense of foreboding.
“Mrs. Hemingway?” you called out, stepping cautiously into the apartment. The hallway was dark, but a yellow light glowed from an old-fashioned chandelier in the living room. You quickly corrected yourself. “I mean, Erika? Are you here?”
The smell had become unbearable. A wave of nausea hit you, doubling you over, but your head remained upright—you couldn’t tear your eyes away from what you saw.
Right next to a long beige leather couch lay a rolled-up light-colored rug. There were dark, bloodstained patches scattered across it, but that wasn’t the worst part. The worst part was the head, not wrapped in the rug. Your neighbor’s eyes were wide open and empty. Black earrings still dangled from her ears—you didn’t know why you fixated on them. Maybe your brain was starting to short-circuit, latching onto odd details instead of focusing on what it should.
Like the sound of footsteps right behind you.
You heard them too late.
There was no time to turn around before something struck the back of your head with brutal force.
It wasn’t like in the movies—it didn’t knock you out. The blow was too weak, too unskilled. It only sent you crashing to your knees, from which you desperately tried to push yourself back up, feeling your heart pounding furiously in your chest. But you were too dazed, your skull filled with a deafening roar, just before it absorbed another hit—this time stronger, harder.
As you collapsed unconscious to the ground, a shadow of a male figure hung above you.
*
The buzz.
A slowly forming image before you. Its small fragments connecting in incorrect combinations, as if someone were trying to piece together two mismatched puzzles.
The pain in your head.
Oh, it was terrible.
It intensified when you tried to open your eyes, so you spent a long moment in darkness, even though your body was slowly beginning to wake. You tried to press your hand to your temple, to massage it, perhaps to ease that furious pounding...when you realized you couldn't.
You opened your eyes despite the head-splitting pain, as if someone had driven a spike into it.
You were in a dimly lit room that reeked of wood and blood. It made you nauseous, and it wasn’t just because of the injury you’d sustained. At least, not entirely.
Fighting the bitter taste of vomit gathering in your throat, you began to look around the interior. Made of light-colored boards, small, with only one window covered. It resembled more of a cabin than a house, the furniture inside arranged in a way that could give an interior designer a heart attack. A rust-covered fridge stood right in the middle of the room. The floor was covered with a blue tarp that rustled with every movement of your body. The place looked as if someone had built it by hand.
Eventually, your gaze landed on your hands, chained tightly to the wall, causing pain in your wrists. You were half sitting, half lying on the floor, unable to move much. At first, you were too confused to feel fear.
Terror only hit you when you glanced to the side.
"Rebekah," you barely managed to say.
She was sitting next to you, tied to the wall in the same way you had found her in Miller's basement two years ago. Her head was lowered, eyes closed, and you prayed she'd look at you. That would mean she was alive…
She did, but very slowly, and you felt no relief at all. Her hair hung in greasy tangles on her face, her lip looked swollen, and her cheek was covered with blood trickling from a wound on her temple.
Rebekah opened her parched lips, but said nothing. She simply let her head drop again.
"Rebekah, listen to me," you begged in a hoarse tone, instinctively trying to get closer to her, but of course, you couldn't. You started to frantically look around once more. You were searching for your captors, searching for a way out. There had to be one. "Listen to me... you have to focus, I'm here, together we can figure something out..."
"You're here," a weak grunt came from the woman. "Finally. At least now it will end."
You didn't quite understand the meaning of her words, but you sensed some hidden depth to them that you decided to ignore. Instead, you nodded affirmatively. Bad idea. The pain intensified.
“Yes. That's right. Now it will end, we'll escape. You have to tell me everything you know. Where are they? When will they return..."
She grunted again.
"No," she simply said. You could barely hear her rough, quiet voice. "It will end because you're here. He was waiting for you, and now, finally, he will kill us." There was a strange, suffering longing in her voice. The prospect of impending relief lightened her face. Suddenly, though, a brief sob overtook her frail body. "Just like those other women..."
"You're wrong," a male voice cut in suddenly, making you flinch. Rebekah didn't even move. Focused on the conversation, you didn't notice the tall man dressed in a black hoodie and cap approaching.
Instinctively, you pressed yourself back into the wall. You hated your own body for showing fear, even though it was completely understandable in that situation. Before you stood Clinton Richardson. You recognized his face with the unevenly trimmed beard. Before you stood real The Waterside Butcher.
“This way, I'll only kill you,” he said in a neutral tone, staring at Rebekah with an odd look, as though she were the least interesting thing in the world to him. He didn’t blink. Not once. Slowly, his gaze shifted to you, and only then did his expression change ever so slightly, seeming more present in his own body. The corner of his mouth twitched. “I’ve got something else prepared for you.”
Your heart pounded painfully in your chest. Sometimes you’d talk to Spencer about his work, sometimes you simply listened to his long monologues with your chin resting on your hand. Did he ever tell you what to do in a situation like this? How to talk to a full-fledged psychopath?
His voice began to echo in your head, gently calming you. You took a deep breath.
“Clinton...” you began, in as soft a tone as you could manage, though your body screamed to rip those chains off the wall, lunge at him, and wrap them around his neck. That desire only grew when you remembered poor, innocent, murdered Erika. You had to close your eyes to get rid of that image.
“Shut up,” he snapped, cutting you off.
A man entered the cabin through the narrow door. You had already met him personally, though the two years he’d spent in prison had significantly changed his face. His features had become sharper, his head shaved clean. When the door opened for a brief moment, you noticed… water. Since it must have been the middle of the night, the moonlight gently shimmered on its surface. The cabin had been placed right on the edge of some kind of water source.
“Take her to the boat,” Clinton ordered, not specifying exactly who he meant.
Your body knew, though. It tensed uneasily, then frantically, as Robert Miller moved toward you. At first, you tried to fight back, kicking, but he immobilized your legs. He reached into the pocket of his fleece jacket and pulled out cable ties. After freeing you from the chains, he used them to try to restrain your hands again. Surprisingly…ineptly.
“Stop playing with her,” the second man growled, crouching next to Rebekah, lifting her chin to examine her battered face. “Hit her, she’ll stop struggling.”
Robert followed the order.
Holding your restrained hands tightly, he dragged you like a slaughtered animal. Your jacket and the clothes beneath it pulled up, and your bare skin unpleasantly scraped against the tarp material, causing abrasions. You hissed as your cheek brushed against the wooden platform outside. Before the cabin door closed, you threw one last terrified glance toward Rebekah, huddled against the wall.
Robert decided it would be easier to do it this way. He threw your body over his shoulder, despite your protests and last desperate jerks, and in just a few steps, he tossed you into the small motorboat by the lake’s edge. You collapsed onto it heavily, wincing from the pain and the ringing in your head. You exhaled through clenched teeth. You didn't know what force kept you from simply going numb, waiting for whatever was coming. What force made you keep fighting.
“Robert, you don’t have to do this,” you tried weakly, trying to make it sound like anything but a sob. You felt powerless, but you knew that this was the weak point of the duo. This was where you had to strike. “Robert...I know it wasn’t you who committed those murders.”
“It was me.”
“No, it wasn’t you. It was Clinton, you just took the blame. You believed you did it. You still believe it. He manipulated you, you have to see that...”
You stopped when he aimed the gun at you.
“Robert,” you said again, though you knew how risky that had become. You could barely force your mouth to open, but you knew it was your only chance. “I know you didn’t kill your mother.”
The hand holding the gun trembled. So, his mother was the weak spot.
“You’re lying. I...I pushed her out of the boat…”
“Why the hell are you even talking to her?” Clinton joined you in the boat, rolling his eyes. He looked at your hunched form with some contempt, and you tried to straighten up, holding onto whatever dignity you had left in these final moments.
As the engine of the boat roared to life and it began drifting farther out, toward the center of the lake, you started to doubt you would ever get out of this.
You sat still, staring at the two men. Clinton had his arms crossed over his chest, seeming to relax, his eyes taking in the surface of the lake. He even closed his eyelids, as if meditating. You noticed he wasn't carrying a gun.
You caught Robert's gaze, tilting your head to the side.
Please.
He blinked, as if trying to focus. To keep his thoughts from drifting away. He looked into your eyes once more, for a long moment. Suddenly, it seemed like he was looking through you. His eyes registered your battered body, but his mind saw another woman, one who had also drowned in the lake. The woman he had loved. The woman who had been his mother.
“Here,” Clinton muttered under his breath.
Robert quickly stopped looking at you.
“Do it,” Richardson said to him. “Come on. Get rid of her, get rid of the problem.”
But Robert didn’t move. Your breath caught in your chest, a flicker of hope.
“She’s the reason you ended up in prison,” Clinton reminded him, emphasizing she. “Get rid of the problem, brother.”
When he still didn't move, Clinton grabbed you by your clothes and lifted you to a standing position, holding you so tightly by the shoulders that he must have left marks. In that moment, you could no longer feel fear.
"Fine, I'll do it myself," Clinton sighed, pushing you closer to the edge of the boat.
You twisted your neck to glance at Robert one last time. In the hand that hung at his side, he still held the gun, his grip uncertain and nervous.
“If he were your brother, he wouldn't have killed your mother,” you said loudly, no longer caring about the consequences. “Was she a problem to you too?”
The body of the man holding you tensed even more, this time in... unease.
“Robert…” he began, dragging out the syllables of his name. Hearing the fear in his voice gave you a sense of fulfillment. You felt like you needed to experience it before you died. You lifted your gaze to the night sky above, to the stars and the moon. These were the things you wanted to see before your body sank into the abyss. “Robert, no—”
Several gunshots rang out, all aimed at the boat’s deck. He wanted to drown them all. Clinton released you and lunged at his partner. A struggle over the weapon broke out between the men, everything rocking dangerously, sparking as water began filling the boat.
You looked at them one last time. Clinton yanked the gun from Robert's hand and shoved him aside. He didn’t manage to aim it at you, though he tried. You saw his eyes searching for your face. Though you were in the middle of the lake, your hands were bound, and you couldn’t swim... you leaned over the side of the boat.
The bullet pierced the water’s surface just next to where your body fell.
When it hit the water, for a moment, you felt free. No one could reach you there; the cold of the lake protected you, surrounding you like a shield. A rush of adrenaline urged you to move your arms, to push yourself to the surface, to swim toward the shore. It wasn’t far, you could swim. But you couldn’t do it. Your hands were tied.
You began to sink.
*
Water burst from your lungs.
The first thing you felt was that your hands were free. Then the piercing cold, sending your whole body into a tremor. Then the stabbing pain in your chest, but you slowly stopped caring about what you felt. It didn’t matter. What mattered was what you saw.
Around you, blue and red lights of police cars flickered, reflecting off the surface of the lake where you lay. A man with dark skin, performing CPR, pulled away when you finally took a breath, his sharp gaze scanning your condition. He had just quickly checked your pulse when someone almost shoved between you.
“Derek, I need a thermal blanket,” Spencer said, kneeling in front of you. His gaze was frantic, only locking on yours when you made eye contact. You wanted to say something, but all you could do was cough. “Quick. She's shaking.”
You pressed your hands to your chest, waiting for the coughing fit to pass. You didn’t help yourself, still trying to say something, not tearing your gaze away from Spencer. You couldn’t. It was all too unreal. A harsh sound escaped your lips.
“Hey, take it easy,” he said, as gently as he could. His voice was soft and weak, and you heard him swallow with relief as he carefully placed his hands on your shoulders, just resting them there. Trying to understand that you were even there. Alive. “It’s okay. I’ve got you.”
“You found me,” you finally managed to say.
Spencer nodded eagerly.
“I did,” he admitted. Suddenly, he furrowed his brow, as if in disbelief. Without caring about your soaked clothes, you pressed yourself against him, burying your injured cheek in his chest. You felt his heavy sigh. “I-I did,” he mumbled.
You probably shouldn’t have heard those words, but he pulled you so close that they grazed the shell of your ear.
Around you, people were moving, busy with the aftermath. The investigation didn't end with your rescue; the night wouldn't quiet down. They had to follow procedures, secure the scene, get inside the cabin where you'd been held...
Like being jolted by electricity, you pulled away from Spencer. The fear on your face mirrored in his eyes.
"Rebekah..."
"She's alive," he reassured you immediately. Your shoulders dropped, and an unidentified sound of relief escaped your lips. "They didn’t have time to do anything to her. They planned to after they…" He trailed off, shaking his head slightly. "She's alive. They drowned."
For the first time, your gaze shifted towards the dark waters, hiding its secrets.
"Both of them?" you asked, needing to be sure.
Your breath began to quicken again, unease taking hold. Spencer gently reached for your cheek, guiding your attention back to him, away from the lake.
"Both," he confirmed. He stood still for a moment, watching you with those dark eyes, his concern echoing with every shiver that ran through your freezing body. Once again, he didn’t care about your soaked clothes, pulling you tightly into his arms.
You closed your eyes as his chin rested on top of your head.
"You’re safe now."
*
In the ambulance, they attended to your injuries.
Everything that was happening reached you through a haze. They told you to lie down, but you didn’t want to. It was only someone’s soft, familiar voice that convinced you. You felt a bit pitiful, lying on your back. You wanted to get back up, to return to normalcy after everything that had happened. But when you tried to move, Spencer turned his head slightly, silently instructing you to lie back down. There was an undeniable firmness in his gesture.
Both of his hands held one of yours, enclosing it tightly, like a shell around a pearl.
They told you it was okay to sleep, but you were a bit afraid. You feared that when you closed your eyes, all the warmth would fade, and you'd find yourself back in the icy depths of the lake. Every time you felt yourself drifting away, you squeezed Spencer’s hand tighter. You turned your head slightly to look at him, and he gave you a small smile.
“Spencer,” you murmured suddenly, a hint of worry in your voice.
“What’s wrong?”
Then, something came to your mind. You reached into the pocket of your jacket, where you had the photo you promised to give him. The water had ruined it completely; all you had now was a white, torn piece of paper instead of the image of his hand gently holding your cheek as he placed a kiss on it.
“I’m sorry. I know you wanted it…”
Spencer took the remains of the photo from you, glanced at it without much interest, then crumpled it up. Surprised, you furrowed your brows.
“We’ll take more,” he assured you lightly.
For a moment, you just stared at him in silence. Did that mean…?
“Really?”
“We’ll take hundreds of them.”

If Punch line can trigger Jason easily what would happen is she ever met Harley?
Let's explore that!
Punchline: First Session
Masterlist is Here!
"I need your help."
Harley perks up, gasping, and rushes over to hug Batman tightly.
"I never thought this day would come," she says, jumping up and down and clutching a gauntleted hand. "Yes!! Yes I would love to be your therapist! We have so much to work on, starting with your parents. I really think you never internalized the event and haven't given yourself any space to grieve after —"
Her hands get squeezed gently, recapturing her attention. Blue eyes meet white lenses, and she furrows her brow.
"Okay, that's fine!" She sighs. "Can't say I'm not disappointed, but if one of your kiddos is looking for help instead, I'm still more than hap—"
"Not one of mine," Batman gently interrupts. "This is a...very delicate case, Harley."
"What's delicate mean in this context, Batsy?" She asks. "Delicate like schizophrenic? Delicate like CPTSD? Delicate like one wrong word away from explodin' and killin' everybody in a mile radius?"
"Delicate," he says, "like...this might hit too close to home for you."
"Me?"
Batman nods. Harley hums, equal parts curious and cautious.
"Any good psychologist worth her salt won't let a personal connection get in the way of providin' aid," she tells him. "If the patient isn't somebody I can help myself, I'll help ya find someone who can. When can I meet 'em?"
--
Your file lies scattered across the floor of the cave. Harley stares wide-eyed at your picture while she trembles on her hands and knees. Bruce, having changed out of his suit, kneels beside her with a steadying hand on her back.
"Oh," she whispers, "Brucie, she's so small for her age. And her age!! Sh-she's..."
Harley shakes her head. Bruce continues rubbing small circles in her back. When she leans against him for support, he holds her upright.
"How'd he keep a kid hidden for eight years?" She whispers, voice thick. "I know I fucked off to go play Happy Family with Ivy, but..."
"Nobody knew," he says. "Harleen, don't play the blame game, not for this. He kept her a secret for a reason; no one was supposed to know."
Harley lifts her hands to her face, rubbing her eyes before any tears can well up and fall. She takes deep, calming breaths, gathering her focus, then carefully collects the papers and stands with his help. She draws a pad and pen out of her pocket.
"I ain't promising anything," she says, looking up at Bruce. "This is...this is a whole different ball game, 'specially with that chucklefuck as the daddy. But I'm gonna try, okay?"
He nods. "Take your time. You were the first person I thought of, but don't force this if it's too much."
Harley gently squeezes his hand in acknowledgement. She walks past him and down the hall towards the containment cells, heels clicking quietly against the floor. She dug out her old coat with the name tag pinned to it and even threw her hair back in a low braid to appear as non-threatening as possible. The closer she gets to your door, the more the wonders if you would've been more comfortable if she showed up in her combat getup and mallet.
"Miss Punchline?" She calls, stopping in front of your cell. A cursory glance of your environment tells her immediately that you're under-stimulated. She writes that down. "I'm Doctor Quinzel. Do ya mind if I come in and chat with you a while?"
You cease all movement. You'd been sitting with your back to the door, gently stroking the head of the teddy bear Alfred gave you while muttering Mistress Mary's nursery rhyme, but when you hear her, you practically turn into a statue. Unless she actively stares at your back, Harley can't even see you draw breath.
"Miss Punchline?" She repeats calmly. "I won't come in if you don't want, but I'd really like to talk to you."
"...Popsy talks about you, sometimes," you say. Harley can't decipher your tone, but the words make her feel cold all over. "Says he used to miss his favorite gal."
"I'm sure he's mentioned me once or twice," she says, clearing her throat. "But I'm old news. Why don't you tell me about yourself? I'm gonna punch in the door code now, okay?"
You don't move. Harley unlocks your cell and walks inside, getting a better look at how sparsely decorated it is. The bed is clearly unused and half of the activities left here would cause an ordinary child to lose interest in about an hour without company. Overall, Bruce and his family are keeping you in a dreary room. If she accomplishes nothing else today, it's a guarantee that she's gonna get you better accommodations.
Harley walks around the room until she can see you face-to-face. Once she's in your periphery, your eyes snap to her and follow her every movement like a predator. She lowers herself to the ground, taking a seat a few feet away from you.
"There you are," she says kindly. Your smile is just as placid as the one in your photo. "I like ya make-up. The swirly pattern on your cheeks is very cute."
You don't respond, though your smile widens briefly. Highly receptive to praise. Your eyes don't leave hers, scanning, assessing, calculating. Harley doesn't feel like you're about to attack her, but you're clearly juggling something around in your mind.
"Bet you're thinking about mine," she continues. "Normally I like puttin' on the face paint, but sometimes my pores gotta breathe, you know? Well — the pores I got left." She glances down at her hands, paper white like the rest of her body from her dip in a vat of acid. With relief, Harley notes that your unpainted skin is a healthy color. Even though the bar's lower than Hell, it's nice to know that at least the Joker didn't immediately treat you to a dunk of your own.
"Punchline, I'm gonna be frank with you," she says.
"Nice to meetcha, Frank," you chirp, grinning mischievously. Harley lifts a brow.
"That was funny," she praises. "I know your, eh, Popsy, he places a lot of value on bein' funny. Used to say nothin' was worth the effort if it didn't amuse him at the end of the day. I'm sure you know that already."
"A giggle a day keeps the boredom away!" You say, pitch and cadence matching that of your father's. Harley knows that the grip on her pen is too tight. She breathes deep and forces herself to relax. "Ohh, hit a nerve, Frank?"
"I'm doin' just fine," she says. "What's boredom look like for you and Popsy?"
You separate your hands, fingers splayed wide, and make explosion noises.
"Do you get caught up in that explosion?"
Your smile doesn't change but your eyes get sharp. Harley makes a note.
"It's hard keepin' him entertained all day, every day," she says. "I would know. But I'm gonna tell ya somethin' your popsy probably never has."
Harley scoots a tad closer to you, reaching her hand out and gently taking one of yours. She can feel every bone in your hand and has to utilize all of her training to school her expression.
"It's not your job to make yer popsy happy. In fact, it's not your job to make any adult happy. Grown-ups shouldn't rely on their children for emotional regulation."
"Couldn't rely on you, either, could be?" You snicker. "Since you ran away."
"I left him because he was treatin' me like dirt," Harley says, a little more firm than necessary. "He's real good at drawin' you in, Punchline. Shows you an ounce of praise that makes you feel invincible, makes you wanna do anything he asks to get more of it."
Harley lets go of your hand to tuck a lock of emerald green hair behind your right ear, brushing gently against the shell. The edges are distorted, flatter than your left.
"He's also real good at draggin' you through the mud, makin' you feel like everything's your fault. Like you got no choice but to make it up t'him. Ya never wanna get on his bad side cause he really makes you feel it."
You tilt your head away from her hand, eyes dropping back down to the teddy bear Alfred gave you. You resume petting it, slightly faster and rougher than before. Harley makes a note.
"His anger's always more powerful than his joy, Punchline," she says, "but both of them are destructive. I wanna help ya break away from his cycle."
"No thanks," you say, "if I wanted to be a washed-up, third-rate party clown, I would!"
Harley feels a wave of pity for you. It's obvious you're just regurgitating your father's words back at her, and she's not surprised. Change doesn't happen overnight, especially not for you.
There's so much work to do, but Harley's not afraid. You may look and behave similarly to the Joker, but you're young and still impressionable and already starting to pull away from him without even realizing it.
"I can tell yer getting upset, and that's the last thing I want," she says, climbing to her feet, "so I think this is a good stopping point for today. But I'd really like to see you again. Would you be alright with that?"
You blow a raspberry at her, then cackle. Harley exhales sharply through her nose, giving you a fond smile, and pats your head as she steps past you and opens the cell door.
She can do this. She will do this. For you.
But, first thing's first.
"Brucie, you're kidding me with the furnishings! How's the richest man on the planet gonna put a kid in such a shitty room!? Don't look at me like that, mister. You brought me in t'do a job and I'm gonna do it right!!"

Grumpy sevika x sunshine reader ???
✞⛧ Grumpy-ass Sevika with a sunshine reader ✞⛧
✞⛧ Sevika is the definition of a grumpy, brooding presence, and you? You’re a damn ray of sunshine that she has no idea how to handle.
✞⛧ The first time you called her “Vika” with a beaming smile, she just stared at you like you had grown a second head.
✞⛧ You laugh at all her sarcastic remarks, even when they’re meant to be mean, which confuses the hell out of her.
✞⛧ She pretends to be annoyed by your endless optimism, but if anyone dares to dim your light, she’s ready to break their jaw
✞⛧ You bring her flowers, even though she grumbles about how impractical they are. But she always keeps them somewhere in her room, hidden from sight.
✞⛧ Sevika is a woman of few words, but you chatter enough for the both of you. She listens to every word, though she’ll never admit it.
✞⛧ You make it your mission to get her to smile, even if it’s just a small smirk. When she finally does? You feel like you’ve won the lottery.
✞⛧ She sighs dramatically whenever you pull her into a hug, but the way her metal arm wraps around you just a little too tightly gives her away.
✞⛧ Sevika is hyper-aware of how much bigger she is than you and is always shielding you from danger, even in small ways, like keeping you on the inside of the sidewalk.
✞⛧ You doodle on her metal arm when she’s relaxing, and though she scowls, she never wipes it off.
✞⛧ She’ll never admit it, but she secretly loves it when you play with her hair. She’ll grumble about it, but she won’t stop you.
✞⛧ When you make her breakfast in bed, she groans about you being too sweet, but she eats every bite.
✞⛧ She absolutely hates mornings, but if you wake her up with kisses, she might reconsider.
✞⛧ The first time you called her “beautiful,” she nearly choked on her drink.
✞⛧ She’s not big on PDA, but if someone so much as looks at you the wrong way, she’ll pull you close possessively.
✞⛧ You always tell her how pretty her eyes are, and she always rolls them—but she never stops you.
✞⛧ Sevika pretends she doesn’t care about holidays, but she secretly treasures every little gift you give her.
✞⛧ She’s the type to grumble about your reckless optimism but will fight to the death to protect it.
✞⛧ She gets irrationally jealous if you give too much attention to someone else, but she tries (and fails) to play it cool.
✞⛧ You patch up her wounds, scolding her with that adorable frown of yours, and she just watches you with a soft, unreadable expression.
✞⛧ The first time she heard you giggle in your sleep while cuddling her, she just stared at the ceiling for a long time, trying to process how much she adored you.
✞⛧ You call her out on her bullshit, but in the gentlest, most loving way possible, and it makes her want to be better.
✞⛧ When she’s had a long day, she doesn’t even have to say anything—you just pull her into your arms and stroke her hair until she relaxes.
✞⛧ Sevika is weak for your puppy-dog eyes. She’ll act like she’s immune, but she’s not.
✞⛧ You’re the only person who can get away with teasing her without consequence—mostly.
✞⛧ She absolutely melts when you call her “my grumpy girl.”
✞⛧ You love dragging her to dance with you, and though she resists, she’ll eventually let you sway with her in private.
✞⛧ She hates parties, but if you beg enough, she’ll suffer through them just to see you happy.
✞⛧ You make her feel emotions she never thought she could experience again—real happiness, love, softness. It terrifies her, but she wouldn’t trade it for anything.
✞⛧ The first time she told you “I love you,” she said it like a death sentence—gruff, serious, but filled with undeniable truth.
✞⛧ She might be rough around the edges, but she loves you fiercely, in a way that’s all-consuming.
✞⛧ Sevika doesn’t say much, but when she does, her words carry weight—especially when she tells you that you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to her.

I loved Nail polish & cologne, you are such an amazing writer! It's been so long since I read a decent version of Moony in a fic. You made me incredibly happy today 🫣
Sorry if it's rude to ask, any chance you could make a sequel?
Omg, I don't find it rude at all to ask for sequels/more parts to any of my writing! It's one of the highest compliments in my opinion! So, thank you 🥰
Also tagging everyone who asked for a part 2 in the replies/comments ❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎
Fresh parchment & perfume
Remus Lupin x reader
part one
2.3k words
cw: fluff, mutual pining, Y/N, angst if you squint
You want to murder Remus Lupin.
Okay, not really. But you’re frustrated that he’s taken away one of your simple daily joys: staring at him during class. You’ve been caught staring at him multiple times now and you swear there have been times where he was looking at you first. This never happened before so why is it happening now?
You come to a conclusion, but you don’t like it. It’s the only thing that makes sense though.
“Lily!” you yell as you enter your dorm and slam the door behind you. “What did you say?”
She looks at you like a deer caught in headlights.
“About what? To who? When?” she asks, preparing her defense.
“About what I smelled in the Amortentia!”
“You never told me what you smelled,” she says, furrowing her brow. “I mean, I can assume, but you never actually told me. And who would I have told?”
“Oh, I don’t know, James, maybe?”
She laughs. “Potter?” Then she looked down at her hands. “I mean, yeah, we’ve talked a little bit and he doesn’t seem… as bad? But we don’t talk about you.”
“Oh.” Your voice is small. “Never mind then.”
You collapse on your bed and Lily is sitting at the foot of it within seconds.
“What gave you the idea that I’ve told Potter about your feelings for a certain quiet prefect?” she asks.
You lift your head to glare at her. You’re not in the mood.
“He’s been looking at me…” you mumble, which causes Lily to fall into a fit of laughter. “Lily!”
“I-I… I’m sorry, but… that’s ridiculous and you know it,” she manages to say in between her laughs. “He’s been looking at you?”
“Yes,” you say firmly. “He’s never looked at me this much before”
You pause as you hide your face in your hands.
“He must know and he’s trying to figure out how to tell me that he doesn’t feel the same way.”
“Or…”
“Or what?”
“Or he’s working up the courage to talk to you?” Lily offers.
“He can talk to me just fine. We’ve studied before. Played Summoner’s Court. Wizards’ chess. We talk.”
“Okay, yes, you talk. But have you tried flirting with him?”
You bite the inside of your cheek. “No… But then why is he just staring at me and not talking to me?”
“Why have you been staring at him and not flirting with him?” she shoots your question back at you.
“I don’t need your logic right now,” you groan, rolling over to shove your face into your pillow.
---
“Has she always stared at me this much?” Remus asks Sirius nervously as they lounge in their dorm.
James was at quidditch practice and Peter had solo detention.
“Can’t say I’ve paid much attention to her, Moony. Might be a better question for Prongs.”
“Why’s that?”
“Because Y/N’s always with Evans? And he stares at her quite often. Come on, mate. Two plus two.” Sirius gives his friend a sympathetic look. “Have you talked to her at all since?”
Remus doesn’t answer, letting the silence answer for him. No, he hadn’t. The amount of times he’s caught you staring at him over the past two days is startling. Each time, you would turn red and look away almost immediately. He hasn’t been able to focus as much in classes, not when he knows you might be looking at him, not when Sirius thinks he might actually have a chance with you.
“Have you… oh, I don’t know, considered talking to her?”
“Padfoot,” Remus says tiredly.
“You can’t ask a girl out without words.”
“You would know.” It comes out more as a sigh.
Remus doesn’t want to admit it, but yes, out of the Marauders, Sirius had the most experience with girls. But whether his “expertise” could actually be trusted was up in the air. He never stayed with a girl for too long and he wasn’t sure if it was his choice or a result of his actions.
“Yes, I would know. And if she has been staring at you as much as you claim, even if just these past few days, ask. her. out.”
“What if she’s just been zoning out? You know, when you stare but you’re not really looking?”
“She’s just been zoned out in your direction multiple times a day?”
“Yes.”
Remus knows it sounds ridiculous, and that’s only enforced when Sirius chuckles from the window where he’s smoking. Then he’s standing up and offering Remus one.
“Stop being so dense,” he says. “And so hard on yourself. I know what that voice in your head is saying.”
Remus takes the cigarette and follows Sirius back to the window.
“And what is it saying?”
“That you’re not worthy of love or attraction, that you’re not attractive. So how could lovely Y/N actually like you when you’re, well, you.”
“Yeah. Thanks,” Remus says dryly before taking a drag.
“Oi, not saying any of that’s true.”
Remus rolls his eyes.
“Ask. her. out. And you’ll see that you’re wrong.”
The two boys sit on the window ledge for a while, each going through a few cigarettes. Silence fills the room. Sirius is more than content to just let his brain empty while Remus’s mind is running circles around itself.
Was he imagining the blush when he caught you staring? Were you staring because you liked him? Were you just staring into the distance and turning red because you realized you were staring at a person? How often did you stare at him? Was it because of that Potions lesson? What if you were staring near him and not actually at him? Was he being narcissistic to think you looked at him? He sat by Peter, James and Sirius in every class. It was very logical to think that you were staring at one of them.
“Shit,” Remus mutters.
“What?” Sirius’ voice sounds far away despite being right next to him.
“She’s been staring at you.”
Sirius laughs.
“No, Pads, think about it. You’ve been next to me every time I’ve caught her staring. It makes so much sense!”
“Moony. You’re delusional,” Sirius says.
James enters the dorm. Sirius’ eyes light up.
“Prongs, help me out here!” Sirius calls as James throws his bag down on his bed.
“Yeah?”
“Y/N. Has she been staring at me or Moony in class?”
“I’m not getting in between you two if you’re fighting over a girl,” James says, laying down on the floor near the window.
“Not fighting over a girl,” Remus says, giving Sirius an annoyed look. “Padfoot just figures you’d know who she stares at, if she’s staring at all, since you, you know, stare at Lily.”
“I do not!” James exclaims as he sits up rapidly.
Sirius laughs, “She’s not in here and we know you do. Don’t lie.” He pauses for a moment to light a new cigarette. “For Moony’s sake, does Y/N stare at him during class?”
James slowly lays back down while giving Sirius a wary look.
“I swear, if I get hexed for answering…”
“Not going to hex you!” Sirius says.
“She stares at Moony. A lot. Think she pays more attention to him than lessons.”
“So she’s gone for you!” Sirius barks, clapping a hand on Remus’ knee and causing him to grimace. “Fucking told you!”
---
You make a serious effort to not look in Remus’ direction during classes. It kills you. It’s been your habit for years and you’re quitting cold turkey. You’re both grateful and mortified that Remus hasn’t called you out for it; he can’t call you out for it if he hasn’t talked to you.
It doesn’t help that Lily has started gently nudging you every time Remus enters a room or sits remotely near you. She doesn’t have to say anything for you to know what she’s thinking.
“You’re the first thing he looks at when he enters a room,” she whispers during Transfiguration.
“Or he’s looking for the Marauders,” you retort just as quietly.
“Yeah, right,” she says sarcastically.
Professor McGonagall flashes a harsh look in your direction and the two of you fall silent. You’re thankful that she didn’t call you out, or worse, ask you to share what you were talking about with the class. That would have been mortifying.
You’ve been successful in your mission to not stare at Remus so far, despite the insatiable urge to do so pulling at your eyes. You swear, the man is magnetic. It doesn’t help that Lily has suddenly become relentless in her nudging and subtle poking.
“What?” you hiss, looking down at your notes.
“He keeps looking this way.”
You roll your eyes and turn your attention back to McGonagall. While Lily’s words stoked the flame of hope in your heart, you didn’t need to be losing house points for not paying attention.
When class ended, Lily put her things away at record speed.
“Potter! Wait up!” she calls, leaving you behind.
You frown as you briefly watch her go. You usually walked to your next class together. You knew that she smelled something like James in the Amortentia and that had fueled her new friendship with him. And as much as you liked seeing your friend this happy, you didn’t like that it meant walking to your classes alone.
Except when you exit the classroom, you aren't alone. Remus is right at your side. You walk in silence for a few paces. It’s not uncomfortable but it’s charged. Despite the other students in the corridor with you, you swear you can hear every step you take. It doesn’t help that you can feel your heart beating in your throat.
“How’ve you been?” you ask. You keep your face straight, knowing that if you look at Remus, you’ll likely trip, fall and embarrass yourself.
“Oh… I’ve been relatively good.” He pauses momentarily. “James hasn’t shut up about what he smelled in the Amortentia.”
You try not to laugh. “Lily’s not been too shy about it either. I think she’ll say yes sooner or later.”
Remus gestures ahead of you to where the two are. “Seems like it.”
Silence falls between you again. You were used to being with Remus in the quiet; that’s how it usually was when you studied in the library together. Except that was different. When you studied, you had your books in front of you and you were both scribbling away, scrawling on parchment until your inkwells ran out.
“Did you really smell the library in the Amortentia?” you ask, breaching the silence. You’re not really sure what made you ask, but something inside of you needed to know.
“Erm, yeah. Yeah, I did,” he answers. He’s not looking at you in the same way you’re not looking at him, meaning you’re both trying to gauge the other’s expression in your peripheral vision. “What did you smell? You got pretty quiet after smelling the potion.”
“Oh, um, I smelled… nail polish, chocolate, parchment,” you listed off with a glaring omission.
Remus let out a breath that he wasn’t aware he was holding. He didn’t want to admit that he was disappointed in your answer. He was hoping you had smelled something more obviously him. It didn’t register in his brain that he was the chocolate and parchment you smelled.
“That all?” he asks hesitantly.
“Was the library all you smelled?” you retorted defensively.
You saw his features tense.
“Was it?” you repeated, more gentle this time, like talking to a scared child.
“It was the library. Everything that encompasses my usual visits,” he starts to say as he turns to look at you. “The books, fresh parchment, ink, your perfume.”
You stop walking. Remus notices immediately, having been watching you and your expression. His heart is racing in his chest. He can’t tell if your reaction is good or bad, based on your wide eyes and sharp intake. You swallow, looking up at the taller, scarred boy next to you.
“My… perfume? You smelled me?” you ask. “You smelled me in the Amortentia?”
Remus flushes with embarrassment. He feels like he should’ve known better than to trust Sirius on this. He was a self-proclaimed ladies’ man afterall.
Remus nods. He doesn’t know if he trusts his voice, but then he starts rambling.
“I thought… Sirius said you couldn’t look away from me so he said I had a chance, but obviously, if you don’t feel the same way… I don’t want this to change anything between us. I don’t want it to be awkward. I really value our friendship. I’m so sorry if I just ruined it, but I like you. I really do. I have for a while, but I’ll try to stop if it makes you uncomfort-”
“Remus,” you say firmly as you grab his arm.
He stops talking immediately. His eyes search yours for an answer that he realizes he probably cut off.
“What do you always carry with you and share with me in the library?” you ask, your voice just as firm.
“Chocolate?” His brows bunch in confusion.
“And what you always, always have a fresh roll of?”
“Parchment?”
“And… I may have smelled one more thing. In the Amortentia.” You took a breath. “Your cologne.”
“My cologne?” he echoes like how you had repeated him earlier.
You wait for him to connect the dots, pressing your lips together.
“So you smelled chocolate, parchment and my cologne?”
“Don’t forget nail polish.”
He chuckles. He takes your hand that’s on his arm and holds it in his own.
“What you’re saying is that I do have a chance? That Sirius was right?”
“Sirius was right,” you laugh.
“In that case, would you like to come with me to Hogsmeade this weekend?”
“I would love to come to Hogsmeade with you, Remus,” you answered with a smile.
Maybe Sirius does know a thing or two about girls, Remus thinks as he walks with you to your next class.

you woke up to knocking on the door. lifting your head from the bed, you immediately felt your head pounding with a headache, making you groan quietly as you got up and left the bedroom. walking to the front door, you peer through the peephole and let out a sigh of relief to see manon.
you unlock and open the door, being met with the taller woman who was holding a convenience store bag in her hand.
“did you sleep?” manon questions, taking notice of the dark bags under your eyes mixed with the tear stain marks on your cheeks.
“a little.” you shrug, opening the door wider and walking further inside.
“better than nothing,” manon replies, walking in and shutting the door behind her. she follows you to the living room, setting the bag down on the coffee table as you sit on the couch and curl up into a ball in the corner. “here,” she rummages through the bag before pulling out two cans. “i didn't know if you'd want the redbull or the coffee, so.” she holds both of them in front of you.
“thanks,” you mumble, taking the energy drink from her hand and opening it.
a silence fills the apartment again, one that lasts a while before you finally manage to speak up.
“i don't know how to fix this,” you say quietly, making manon look over at you. “i doubt she wants to see me right now, or ever again.” you look down at the drink in your hand, finger spinning around the rim of the can. “i should’ve listened to her, then none of this would've happened.”
“it's okay,” manon says. “i mean, it's not, obviously, but it’ll be fine. you can't say that she probably doesn't want to see you, because we both know that she always wants to see you. whenever you're not around you are literally the only thing she talks about, and with what you told me about your last conversation, she probably thinks sophia forced you to do it – which she did, so i don't think she's mad at you exactly. if she is, i’d be surprised.” she pauses for a moment. “you have to just do it. get her out, and then you can talk it out. you can figure the rest out as you go.”
“yeah,” you murmur, still looking at the can in your hands.
“yn,” manon grabs one of your hands making you finally look at her. “i’ve known dani for years, she isn't going to be mad at you. when i say you are the only person she talks about, i mean literally you are the only person she cares about. i’ve seen her go through girls so fast that when she started talking about you i felt bad. i thought ‘well, there's another poor girl to add to her list’. but she said you were different. so i tried to believe her. now, i’m going to be honest with you here, okay? because i love and care about both of you very much, and i want you two to fix this, okay?” she stops, waiting for you to nod before continuing. “dani has said multiple times to multiple girls that they're different. so when she said it about you my first reaction was how you were going to get hurt. but things started changing, dani started changing. and that has never happened. you know dani is a pretty independent person, and what she does has her that way because of shit that's happened in the past, but to see her changing – changing for the better? i knew she was right about you.”
“not one other girl has even been able to remotely change one thing about dani,” manon continues. “she always kept them at a distance, she never let them get too close. and the day she told me she took you with her to one of the deals? something that she never let anyone do? i knew she seriously loved you. when she said that you insisted on going with her, she told me that she hesitated. but not for the same reason it usually was. she wanted to protect you. she always wants to protect you, yn. but she lets you come with. she trusts you with the money. she trusts you with certain clients. she trusts you. she loves you. no one else. i don't know why she did what she did, but i know she regrets it. you are the best thing that's ever happened to her, and i don't want this to fuck it up for you two. i can't tell you what to do, but i will support whatever decision you make, okay?”
listening to everything manon said, you slowly nod your head while taking in all of it. tears pricked at the corners of your eyes and you could feel them threatening to spill, with your bottom lip tucked between your teeth to keep it from trembling. “i ju-st want to fix this,” your voice cracks as you speak. “i love her so much.”
“i know you do,” manon is quick to reply, scooting closer to you and wrapping her arms around your shaking frame. “and i know she loves you just as much. you just have to tell her. you have to talk this out, and you have to tell her about what happened last night.”
you physically tense up at her last words, the memories of the night before flooding your mind as you put your hands into fists to keep them from shaking so much. “i can't– she’ll really hate me then,” you reply, shaking your head.
“you have to, yn,” manon tells you. “i know you don't want to, but you have to.”
a few tears fall from your eyes, but you slowly nod your head, knowing it was the truth. it could make matters worse or it could improve them, but you had no idea how to even go about it. “can you– can you come with me to the sheriff's station? i already have the bail money in a bag, i-i just don't want to go alone right now,” you speak quietly, more tears trailing down your cheeks.
“of course,” manon replies with a nod. “has sophia tried reaching you?”
“there was texts and calls for the first couple of hours, but i think she gave up,” you answer with a shrug. “i read a few of them…” your voice goes quiet again.
“bad?” manon questions, judging by the tone in your voice when you said it.
“yeah.” you nod.
“ignore them,” manon tells you sternly. “you don't need to be seeing her lash out on you because of something terrible she did. you didn't do anything wrong, okay? you don't deserve any of what's happened to you in these months, and it's not your fault for going to the person you thought would keep you safe. but this means you have to fix things with dani. if all else fails, then you can stay with me for some time, okay? you’ll always have a place to stay with me.” she rubs your back reassuringly.
“okay,” you mumble, nodding again. “thank you again, i owe you for this.”
“no you don't.” manon shakes her head. “you're one of my best friends, i’d do anything to make sure you're okay.” she then pulls away from you, grabbing the can from you and setting it on the coffee table. “when does the sheriff's station open?”
“nine, i think,” you answer.
“we’ll go right when it opens, then,” she says. “get it done as fast as possible so that she doesn't have to stay in there too long. then you can talk things out. i’m sure you'll already be on her good side just by bailing her out after what you said when she was arrested, so you have a good starting point. get her something to eat, get some drinks, and talk it out here in the home you two have made. it’ll all be okay. i promise.”
“okay.”
…
one week later you were standing outside the jail, biting your nails with your foot tapping on the ground anxiously. thankfully, you had enough to cover the bail and have a little leftover, which was a relief knowing it didn’t take everything in the safe. you had yet to even speak to daniela, despite manon telling you to at least try and see if she would talk to you. you didn’t want to hear yelling over the phone, you’d rather hear it in person where you could explain everything easier than if you were arguing over the phone line that would cut after five minutes. manon told you over and over again that she wouldn’t be mad at you, but the nervous feeling was still rooted deep inside you as you heard the loud buzzing and the gate slowly opening.
looking up from the ground, you spot daniela walking with her bag of things. her eyes subtly widen a bit from what you can see, since they didn’t exactly tell her who bailed her out, just that she was able to leave.
she slowly steps over to you, stopping in front of you and looking at you without saying anything.
“hey,” you say quietly. “i’m really sor–”
you’re cut off from your apology by daniela kissing you. your eyes go wide for a second, but when her arms wrap around your waist you find yourself melting into the kiss, practically feeling all the emotions she was pouring out into it.
when she pulls away, you’re both a little breathless, quiet panting coming from you two.
“do you wanna get something to eat and head home?” you ask softly. “i’d rather talk at home.”
“yeah, we’ll talk at home,” daniela responds in the same voice.
“okay.” you nod.
…
by the time you two arrived at the apartment, it was already leading into the evening, the sunset coming down just as you opened the door and walked inside with bags of food and drinks in your hands.
walking behind you into the apartment, the first thing dani notices is how clean it is. she figured it’d be destroyed when they came to get her, only feeling worse when she realized it had to have been you that cleaned up the place. she follows you silently, setting the food down on the dining room table and going to sit on the couch next to you.
there’s a silence that fills the room. one that was far from comfortable. both of you sitting there not knowing what to say first, or to say anything at all. until you speak.
“i’m really sorry,” your voice is barely able to be heard as you fiddle with your hands. “i-i didn’t think– i didn’t mean for it to go down that way, i-”
“don’t apologize,” daniela cuts you off, shaking her head. “there’s no reason for you to be apologizing. i deserved it.” she goes quiet for a moment before continuing. “i’m really, really sorry. i shouldn’t have done what i did, and i know i fucked up. i’m not sure why i did it, but i regret it so much. i don’t know why you bailed me out, i thought the last time was really going to be the last time. but…i’m glad you did. i just want to talk it out.”
“i know, and that’s why i bailed you out,” you start. “listen, dani. i went to sophia to figure out what to do, and…it wasn’t a smart idea. i know you two already don’t like each other, but this could really make things worse for everyone. i– she convinced me to call the police even though i didn’t want to. i felt so bad once i saw how upset you were. i knew you knew you fucked up and was trying to do anything to make me stay a-and i ignored it. i-i thought it would make things easier but it made everything so m-much worse. everything just t-turned into a shit show a-and i didn’t know what to d-do.” you began stuttering over your words as a few tears fell from your eyes.
“hey, hey, it’s okay.” daniela is quick to wrap her arms around you and pull your head against her chest. “it’s okay, okay? i’m not mad at you for what you did. i deserved it. so please don’t beat yourself up over what you did, baby. i’m not upset at you.” she presses a gentle kiss on your head.
“there-there’s something else i h-have to tell you,” you manage to get out, your anxiety growing and your breathing getting heavier. “please don’t get mad when i tell you th-this.”
“nothing will make me mad, i promise,” dani responds. “what happened?”
clutching onto her shirt, your face is still pressing against her chest as you try to find the words to explain it. “i-i went to sophia’s after. y-you know she’s always had feelings f-for me, so i-i…i fucked up, dani.” you start fully sobbing into her chest at this point, which has her arms tightening around you both from you crying and what she was thinking you were going to say next. “i-i let her have her w-way with m-me b-b-but i hated it. it was t-terrible. sh-she didn’t care that i w-was uncomfortable, she di-didn’t stop even when i w-was crying. all i c-could think about was how y-you would never do that. i-it didn’t feel the same. sh-she didn’t care, she continued a-and i felt so bad after th-that i left immediately. i’m so sorry.”
once you finished your words through sobs, daniela pulled you closer to her onto her lap, her arms tight around you as you cried. there were hundreds of thoughts running through her head, but they were far from being mad at you. she wasn’t mad at you. she was livid at sophia. “it’s okay,” she tells you over and over. “i’m not mad at you, i swear. i’m not mad.” hearing your cries continue made daniela wonder just how much sophia put you through when she wasn’t around, and thinking it made her jaw clench, anger bubbling inside of her. “baby, look at me,” she says softly.
you slowly lift your head to look down at her, your eyes red and puffy with a few sniffles coming from you now and then.
“i’m not upset, okay?” she says, running her hand through your hair. “i understand, i do. which is why i’m not angry at you. i’m angry at sophia, okay? she should’ve known better than to try and do that, let alone continue when you were crying. you haven’t seen her since, have you?”
you immediately shake your head quickly. “no, no, i haven’t. she tried texting and calling but i just ignored them.”
“good.” daniela nods. “that means it’ll be a fun surprise for her when i show up at her front door.”
the way she says that has your eyebrows furrowed together. “what do you mean?”
“don’t worry about it, mi amor,” she says, pecking your lips. “let’s just say she won’t be a problem anymore.”
“as long as you don’t get arrested again, you can do what you want,” you tell her, hooking your arms around her neck.
“i won’t, i promise.” she smiles at you. “are we okay?” she asks after a moment.
it takes a minute for you to respond, but you nod your head in the end. “yeah, we’re okay.”
“i love you,” daniela says, looking you in the eye.
“i love you too,” you reply, leaning in and kissing her.
…
it was late into the night when daniela got up. but not for the same reason it had been the past few months. was she going to see someone? technically. was it sophia? yes. was she going to beat the living shit out of her? probably.
the latina carefully got out of the bed, unwrapping your arms around her and looking at the time on the digital clock. late enough. you shift around feeling her presence leave the bed, and you open your eyes to see her putting on a hoodie and her shoes.
“where are you going?” you mumble tiredly.
dani turns when she hears your voice, leaning down and pushing some of your hair out of your face. “i’m heading to sophia’s with manon and minji. don’t worry, i’ll text you once i’m there and when i’m on my way back.” she presses a soft kiss on your forehead. “i’ll bring you back something to eat if you’re awake when i’m leaving.”
you nod your head, murmuring out a quiet “okay”. this is what you missed. if you were too tired to go out to deals with her, she would always say this. that she’d text you when she was there, and that she would text you when she was leaving that everything was okay, even then she would send more messages than necessary. but, you didn’t mind it. she knew you often got worried when it came to certain clients, and she always reassured you when she would go alone. it hadn’t been like this in months. for the past few months you’ve woken up to her already gone, not bothering to tell you where she was going. for the first time through this hell that’s been these last few months, it was starting to feel normal again.
“be safe, please,” you say quietly.
“always,” she replies, kissing your head again.
walking out of the apartment, manon and minji were already waiting outside in front of minji’s car. the two turn when they hear footsteps coming towards them to see daniela walking towards them.
“is it bad to say i’m surprised you showed?” daniela says, stopping in front of the car.
“not really,” manon shakes her head.
“thanks, anyways then,” daniela looks between the two. “are you both sure you want to do this?”
“obviously,” manon says.
“i’ve never liked her anyways,” minji adds, crossing her arms over her chest.
“alright,” daniela nods. “let’s go then.”
…
it was three in the morning when you heard the front door open. you were partially awake after daniela told you where she was going, glancing at your phone occasionally when it would light up. it had been thirty minutes since dani told you she was on her way back. just when you were getting worried you heard the creaking of the front door opening, and the jingling of keys. you sit up on the bed a little bit when daniela walks into the bedroom with a bag of food and drinks in her hands.
“hey.” she smiles at you. “i got you some food and a milkshake from sonic. i’m sure you’re tired of it by now but it’s like, the only place open at this hour.”
“i don’t mind.” you shake your head. “thank you.”
“it’s no problem,” she says, sitting down next to you on the bed. “here.” she hands you one of the drinks and takes the food out.
sitting in silence while eating, you had a warm feeling radiating through your body. the type you hadn’t felt in months while everything was going on. the silence wasn’t awkward, it wasn’t tense. it was comfortable. it was normal, like it used to be.
“i really missed this,” you say randomly in a quiet voice. “i missed you.”
daniela looks over at you when you speak, seeing the small smile on your face that subconsciously makes a smile grow on her own face. “i missed this– i missed you, too,” she replies in the same voice.
when you look over at her, you can barely make out her face with the lamp on your nightstand, but staring into her eyes, you know she’s genuine about it. “promise me we won’t do this again,” you tell her.
“i promise,” she replies in a heartbeat. “you know why?”
“why?” you encourage her, curious as to what she’ll say.
“because i’m gonna marry you one day.”
your breath hitches in your throat at her words. in the two years you’ve been together, she’s never mentioned anything of the sorts revolving marriage or that kind of commitment. and after what manon told you, you weren’t sure she would ever even consider the thought. to say you were surprised would be an understatement.
“really?” your voice comes out in a whisper, as if you were doubting her words.
“really.” daniela nods. “i don’t want to be with anyone except you. i don’t want you to be with anyone except me. i know i fucked up right now, but i swear in the future i’ll give you the newlywed life you want. i swear.”
tears build in your eyes without your knowledge, so focused on her words that you didn’t even notice a few falling until dani’s hand reaches towards you and wipes them away with her thumb, her hand cupping your face. “you can’t go back on me now, y’know,” you say in a hushed voice. “you better stay.”
“i will,” she responds. “i will, i promise. i don’t want anyone else. i just want you.”
“then you’ll show me?” you say, your voice changing into a tone daniela was far too familiar with.
“oh, i’ll show you.” she leans in and kisses you.

marco polo- o.piastri
summary: your first season as an f1 driver doesn't start the best, and you quickly realise McLaren doesn't like women very much. On top of that, your race engineer is as smug as the rest of them, and you have to deal with him all the time.
pairing: race engineer! oscar piastri x f1driver! fem! reader
warnings: lots of misogyny, lando is an asshole in this, illusions to ed behaviour, reader is not in a good head space, all of mclaren is super sexist, mentions of crashes and injuries.
part one | part two | part three | part four | part five | part six | part seven | part eight
୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅
Things had been a little awkward since coming back to Monaco. Oscar had noticed the way you’d become a little bit more… closed off, or just a bit less talkative. That didn’t bother him. If Oscar Piastri could do anything, he could definitely talk. It took a few days for the two of you to get back into a flow of things, but no matter, he just kept suggesting things you could do together, and you didn’t have anything better to do, so off you went.
୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅
“When do you leave for Kigali?” Oscar asked, sipping on his smoothie. You’d think it wasn’t December with the Monaco weather around the two of you. You and Oscar had decided to go for a quick training session (in the form of a swim) before you left for the awards. The FIA prize-giving. The one night of your life that, if you could, you’d pay any half-good impersonator to be you, and you could fuck off and enjoy your break.
That, alas, would not be happening this year. You had to go. You were World Champion after all.
“Tomorrow morning I think,” you huffed, swiping your card into the gym. “Want to come by any chance?” you asked, awkwardly.
He raised an eyebrow. “Don’t you have a date?”
You rolled your eyes, walking away. “I don’t want one,” you sighed. “I have you.”
And with that bombshell, you walked into the women’s dressing room.
He genuinely didn’t know what to do for a solid minute. He just stood there, his arms out in front of him and his jaw dropped. One of the gym employees had to ask if he was alright. He went into the changing room with a lot on his mind. You hadn’t meant it like that, surely?
୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅
You hadn’t meant it to sound like that, really. You just meant, ‘oh, I don’t want to bother with asking someone to go with me and dealing with the online chatter about the prospects of my dead dating life, and you’re here and my best mate and people know we’re mates so that’s easier and I’d have much more fun with you anyways so yeah’, but you seemed to have a way with words. A way that made everything coming out of your mouth to him, deeply, deeply awkward.
୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅
He honestly couldn’t get over the earlier comment, but when you came out in a bikini, his brain stopped altogether.
“25 metre pool… 40 laps?” you suggested, pulling on your goggles. Granted, the goggles made you look a little bit less sexy, but much more you, and he felt his shorts get tighter again.
“Sounds good,” he nodded, following you into the pool. That did not sound good. Oscar was a good swimmer, but you went every day you could. He was fucked, but he didn’t notice that since he was too busy staring at you.
You enjoyed swimming, you found it relaxed you. Your favourite was sea-swimming, but Monté-Carlo beaches are pretty swamped with fans, and you don’t enjoy people taking pictures of you in your swimming togs. You shot off in the pool, a simple breast stroke as Oscar followed behind you. After about 30 minutes, you’d done 46 laps, and Oscar had given up halfway through and had somehow ended up in a marco polo game with a few kids. When you walked over to get him, you sat at the edge of the pool, watching the game with a soft smile on your face.
“Is that your girlfriend?!” one of the girls gasped. “She’s so pretty!”
Oscar opened his eyes and smiled when he found you, then he looked back at the girl. “She is, isn’t she?”
The girl swam off again, giggling as she swam around one of her friends. He didn't deny it. He didn't try to correct her. He just smiled and agreed. As much as every voice in your head screamed that he should be ashamed of you, he never was. He wasn't ashamed of you
“You playing?” one of the teenage boys asked, coming up beside you and holding a hand out.
You looked up to Oscar who smiled and nodded. “I’ll be on again,” he promised.
You grinned.
୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅
“Marco?” he called out. You’d both been playing with them for about 20 minutes, but you were genuinely having too much fun to notice.
“Polo!” you called back, and he could hear the smile on your lips. God, it was good to hear you laugh again. The last triple header had been nothing but work (except from the party but he hadn’t had gained the courage to talk about that yet), and it was nice to see you let loose.
He reached a hand out and brushed your midriff, making you laugh, and he wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you into his arms, opening his eyes as he laughed with you. He loved this, loved you, loved being around you.
Your giggles died down, as did his and you smiled at him, looking up. “Alright?” he asked, pulling his arm around your shoulder as you both turned back to the kids. You nodded at him as they started explaining the next game to you both. You didn’t mind how his hand stayed around your shoulder. You didn’t mind it one bit.
୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅
You ended up back at your house, enjoying the setting sun as Oscar cooked dinner on your barbeque. You were busy staring at your garden while he was busy staring at you (and the dinner).
“I meant it earlier,” you told him, joining him beside the grill. “I want you to come to the awards.”
He shook his head, smiling. “Take someone else,” he insisted.
“Who else would I take?” you questioned him. “Some random male celebrity who everyone will think I’m dating?”
He tried to ignore the fact that the thought of you with someone else made his stomach flip, but he couldn’t really. He turned to look at you. “People think we’re dating.”
You stared abc at him for a second, then rolled your eyes. “That’s different.”
“How?” he pushed. Again, you just looked at him. It was weird. The air changed.
“It just… is,” you said, your voice small. “Look, if you don’t want to come, you don’t have to. I was just asking because you’ve really been the only person there for me, and I think the trophy is as much yours as it is mine,” you huffed.
He stilled for a moment. Of course he was going to go, from the second you asked. He’d literally do anything you asked. He just… he wanted to give you an out, just in case the offer wasn’t genuine. He was happy to say that it was. And he planned on taking it.
“Of course I’ll come,” he smiled, wrapping his arm around your shoulders again, and pressing a quick kiss to the top of your head. “I love supporting you.”
The both of you stilled. Your stomach churned and he just couldn’t believe what he’d done. He hadn't even meant to, it was a complete accident, but it happened. He liked it. He loved days like these, and he hoped that he hadn’t just fucked everything up with one little action. You honestly held your breath for a few seconds, shock taking over, then decided that it was alright, and leant into him more.
“Thanks Osc.”
Like he’d said earlier, whiplash.
୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅
Oscar was an ‘Airport Dad’ in the worst sense of the word. He made sure you two got to the airport 3 hours early (you were flying private), made you triple check your passport and boarding pass three times before he let you get out of the taxi, and demanded the window seat you were sitting in even though it was a private plane.
The plane ride was enjoyable though, a night of playing uno with him, Max, Charles, Yuki, and George.
“He’s cheating!” George argued, slamming his cards down after Oscar won a fourth time.
“How?!” Oscar laughed, arguing back as both Charles and Max rolled their eyes at him, throwing their cards on the table.
“I don’t know, but he’s doing it!” George seethed, getting up. “I’m getting another drink and by the time I get back Y/n, I expect your race engineer to be sorted out!”
You laughed at the exchange, taking no sides. Oscar turned to you with a bright smile and roll of his eyes while you started fixing the cards up for the next round.
“You two are insufferable, aren’t you?” Yuki sighed.
“What do you mean?” you scoffed, throwing a card at him.
“I’m so single!” he groaned, letting his head rest on the table. “You two keep reminding me of that!”
Max laughed as Lando groaned again, and you gulped back a shocked chuckle. Oscar excused himself to the bathroom for a moment.
“We’re not dating,” you reminded Yuki.
He scoffed. “Yeah, it’s not like he’s madly in love with you or anything as well then,” You stared at him for a moment and he rolled his eyes. “I mean come on! The way that man looks at you? It’s insane!”
You shook your head, brushing him off. “We’re friends, nothing more.”
“Oh sure.”
୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅
You all landed and were driven straight to the arena to get ready. You were immediately thrown into makeup and getting dressed, and basically separated from Oscar because Max stole him away.
You were nervous, there was no point in lying about it. You hated making speeches, you hated being on stage, and you hated being celebrated. You knew you just had to remind yourself that Oscar was somewhere in that audience and he was there for you. He didn’t care what happened, he’d sit there with a smile on his face no matter what.
Knock knock.
“We want to see the dress!” Max called from the other side of the door. Good thing you were almost ready. You smiled awkwardly as you opened the door, trying to show off the dress but it just ended up looking like a weird pose. Oscar’s jaw dropped anyway, but you didn’t see since Max was busy pulling you in for a hug.
Oscar’s slacks got a lot tighter as he watched you in the dress, and he realised the night had become nearly impossible, but he’d do it for you. It would just be slightly tortuous. The way the dress clung to you made him crazy. The red, a stark contrast to the regular papaya racesuit or dark workout clothes he was used to seeing you in. It was maddening how badly he wanted to just reach out and smooth a hand on your hip, or just run a hand through your perfectly styled hair. You were goregous, to put it simply.
“What do you think?” you asked, your voice uncomfortable.
He smiled down at you. “I think you’re beautiful,” he whispered. “I think you’re always beautiful.”
You wished he didn’t say the sweetest things. You still felt like you didn't deserve them.
He knew you did.

Little Demon
Batfam Yan! × Neglected Nezuko! Reader
Note:English is not my first language, sorry if there is any translation error
You were normal
You weren't the monster you've become, before everything you were just an ordinary high school student
Everything had happened so fast that you didn't even have time to process it
A few hours ago everything was normal
You woke up as usual adding yourself to go to class, you greeted alfred while you were having breakfast
Breakfast felt as lonely as always your family was never present not even in things as common as having breakfast together as a family
No one ever had time for you, everyone was so busy with their responsibilities and you understood it, you always understood
They were vigilant and you knew they had a lot of responsibilities on their shoulders but sometimes you would like them to look at you or ask you how your day was
If someone in the family turned to look at you or talk to you it was a miracle, the only person you had by your side was alfred
He was a father figure more than your real father could be
Bruce, as you called him because father was too big a name for someone like him, maybe he wasn't even worthy of being called father
You saw his relationship with the rest of your siblings and how he treated them with so much respect and affection
At some point you felt jealous, why was he so good to them? Why couldn't you feel that affection
Why?
Why!?
Nobody took care of you or protected you, since you were little you understood that if you didn't protect yourself nobody would
Everyone had talents and they were amazing
You were just (name), the shadow of the family because the only thing that was important was having the last name Wayne, but then you were nobody
You were never anybody
You stopped thinking so much and picked up your bag and walked out the door of the mansion giving Alfred a last goodbye
_
Classes went by faster than you would like, school was a safe place for you, there you could be yourself with your friends
To your friends you weren't (name) Wayne, the daughter of a billionaire playboy, you were just a (name) L/N a girl full of energy and eager to help others
You lazily got up from your seat grabbing your bag heading to the classroom door
There was Aoi waiting for you as usual, you were grateful to have such a good friend like her
"You look more tired than usual, is something wrong (name)?"
The black-haired girl asks worriedly, walking with you to the exit. You just nodded, giving her a fake smile.
"Yeah, don't worry, I just didn't sleep well today."
That's a lie. You had slept more than well, but since this morning you had felt that something was wrong, as if something bad was about to happen.
You couldn't shake that feeling off after hours. You decided to ignore it, but that feeling still remained.
Aoi just nodded, unsure of your answer. She had been your friend for years and she knew you too well to know when something was bothering you.
"Hey, today me and shinobu are going to a new cafe that opened. Do you want to go?"
You stayed quiet for a few seconds thinking about the proposal, you liked going out with your friends but this time you felt like you shouldn't go
"I'm sorry aoi but... I'm really busy today I have homework to do"
You politely apologized to her
Aoi raised an eyebrow, there was something she didn't like, she knew something was happening to you but she wasn't going to force you to tell her, she didn't want it to seem like she was someone insistent
She simply gave you a nod and then looked ahead, this was where your paths separated as you lived on totally opposite streets
She gave you a big hug as a farewell and then separated from you with a smile on her face
"See you tomorrow (name), take care!"
He said as he shook his hand and his presence disappeared more and more as he walked away
You let out a tired sigh before turning on your heels and taking the path home
You walked with your head down, your thoughts consumed your head that you didn't even notice the imminent danger that was approaching you
You didn't understand why your family seemed to hate you, you were always obedient, good and polite
You were the best in your class and you had great intelligence but you were still invisible to all of them
Sometimes you just wanted to disappear, being someone else didn't matter you just wanted to leave
But you knew that until you turned 18 it would be impossible to get out of that house
You were so distracted in your thoughts that you didn't even have time to react before something too strong pushed you into a dirty alley
You tried to get up and defend yourself but that strange man grabbed you by the neck cutting off your breathing and not being able to get up
As your vision blurred you could see his red eyes and a cynical smile forming on his lips
The last thing you felt was something embedded in your neck causing you to lose consciousness
Everything was black, you couldn't move or feel anything
So you died?
Is this how it all ended? Dying in a dirty alley full of trash and rats?
Maybe this is what you deserved, you were never anything important just trash
And trash should stay with trash, right?
Alfred ran at full speed through the mansion towards Bruce's office, he couldn't believe that this had happened
He slammed open the door to Bruce's office causing Bruce to stop concentrating on the paperwork to look at his butler
It was too strange for Alfred to enter without knocking, and he was also struck by Alfred's worried and disheveled attitude
Only something too important or serious would have to happen to break Alfred's impeccable personality
"Master Bruce...Miss (name)..."
The old man struggled to find air in his lungs, having run all over the mansion had left him exhausted
"What's wrong with her? Don't tell me she got into trouble-"
Alfred interrupted Bruce in the middle of his sentence to speak again
"No...she...she's dead"
Those words hit Bruce hard
Dead?
Your death couldn't be true, it had to be some kind of joke
"What?"
It was the only thing he could say in shock, he knew that Alfred would never lie to him, much less about a subject as serious as death
But his brain simply couldn't process it
_
The entire batfam was at the police station, the news of your death shook the entire family in a bad way
Now they were here to identify your body, they found it in an alley according to the police record a woman who was passing by found your body covered in blood that was supposed to have been yours
According to the police it was a very crude and bloody crime scene
They couldn't believe that someone would be capable of doing that to a being as innocent as you
The simple fact that someone had done all those things to you made everyone's blood boil with rage
Richard felt terrible, remembering all the times you asked him to spend time together and he simply made the excuse that he was busy or that he didn't have time
He was the worst brother, he was supposed to be the oldest one who should have protected you but all he did was push you away and cause your premature death
Jason could barely handle all the emotions he felt at that moment, he felt rage, sadness and regret
He still remembered the times he had insulted you and told you not to interfere in his life
No matter what he had to do, he was going to avenge his little sister and he was going to make the person who had done that to you suffer
In Tim's head he tried to find some possible suspect for your death, maybe the joker had already killed Jason once, it was just a matter of time before he did it again
He could still remember the times he had ignored you, that moment when you made cupcakes was still in his mind and you had the brightest smile of all
You had prepared them especially for your family but all you received was their rejection telling you that they were busy
Remember the rude way in which I refused your food and asked you to leave, right now, anything to be able to be with you and try your desserts
Damian was burning with fury, who was the bastard who dared to kill his sister!?
He, unlike the rest, didn't want to accept his guilt. He firmly believed that the times he had hit you, humiliated you, and insulted you were for your own good.
You should know well that you were too weak for this world, that he was your protector.
Cass could barely process everything. She had lost another important person to her again, and this time it was her fault again.
She leaned against a corner and let her thoughts consume her. She felt the worst. Maybe if she had paid attention to you, you would be alive now.
Barbara felt the same way as Richard. She still remembered the times you begged for her attention, wanting to spend time with her, but she only pushed you away more and more each day.
Steph could only stare at the floor. It was her fault for ignoring you. She thought that at some point you would adapt to the mansion, but it never happened. All she did was make you feel more like a burden and a nuisance.
But the one who felt the worst was Bruce. He was supposed to be your father, he was supposed to be the first to protect you. But he didn't. All he did was ignore you
He was the worst father ever, now because of him you were dead
They took him to a room to identify your body and left him there alone for a few minutes
Right there he collapsed, his serious and unwavering facade broke
His daughter, his baby is now dead because of him, he would do anything to revive you, he would even use the Lazarus pit even knowing the consequences that caused
But suddenly he felt like something lunged at him
And there was you
Alive
You were alive in some way, but he saw that it wasn't you...
Your eyes had that wild look, your teeth were sharp and long nails that you had never had before
He grabbed a metal pipe he found on the floor and tried to fight you by putting it in your mouth so that you wouldn't bite him or disfigure his face with your claws or teeth
Your strength was superhuman, as if you were no longer the (name) that he knew
Now you had become something wilder
But he felt small tears falling on his face, he was crying
It seemed as if a part of you was trying to control your instincts, he noticed your distressed and scared look
Suddenly Richard entered the room with Jason
They had heard a loud noise coming from the room
The men's faces were surprised when they saw you alive
Or rather, you didn't look human and your skin looked paler
Also, your hair had changed, the tips that were completely black before were now orange
The two quickly came out of their trance and helped Bruce get you off of them, you were still struggling and trying to get out of their grip
Then Damian and Tim appeared through the door when they heard all the commotion
Before either of them could speak, Richard interrupted them
"There's no time for explanations, distract the police now!"
He said trying to keep you from getting out of the grip, Tim and Damian just nodded confused as they went with the others to distract the guards
Meanwhile Jason decided that the best idea was to knock you out so he did, but he earned a scolding from Bruce for hitting you so hard
"Stop complaining so much and be thankful we didn't let her kill you"
He said dryly, he saw how you fell surrendered to his arms, for now they should find a way to get you out of here without anyone noticing
_
The days passed quickly in the mansion, they had you with a kind of muzzle on your mouth to prevent any incident
Although after having "revived" you were only aggressive once, to tell the truth this version of you was much calmer and less energetic than the previous one
After Bruce asked Constantine for help he told him that most likely you had been turned into a demon and that if they wanted you to be human again the person that turned you into a demon was supposed to turn you back into a human
For days the batfam spent their time investigating and trying to find information about the person who did that to you but they found almost nothing
But almost nothing was that bad, it seemed you rejected human flesh and blood and you recovered energy by sleeping, you didn't need to eat or drink water just sleep
Most of the day (not to say all day) you spent somewhere in the mansion sleeping
Everyone fought over who would cuddle with you during your morning nap, they agreed on a deal that every day of the week it would be a family member's turn to sleep with you and take care of you
And after everything worked, most of your memories disappeared so they didn't have to worry about you remembering what horrible siblings they were
They also found out that you can't be in the sun unless you want to disintegrate and die
Tim thought it was a good idea to open the windows so you could see the sun after so long
Tim's expression The horror on his face was great when he saw how your skin began to burn and how you screamed in pain
He quickly closed the windows and approached you to see your condition
Luckily your regenerative abilities were very helpful, but Tim still didn't escape Bruce's scolding and you think Damian almost killed Tim that day
You could say that the days in the mansion were good, of course sometimes you would like to go out and see other places but you knew it would be impossible
The batfam preferred to die rather than let you wander alone through the streets of Gotham again, in their eyes you were still that weak little girl even knowing that you could easily kill them all
For now you should get used to this life until they find a cure
But you shouldn't worry, when you are cured they will never let you go again
Never
I finished this quicker than I thought
I hope you like it because I probably won't upload anything for 3 or 4 days

a hero always watches ….? J•T x fem!reader
Stalker!Jason Todd so be warned..? He’s kinda a creep.. pt2
xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox
Your eyes were quickly adjusting to the dim lit streets you surrounded yourself with..the hostile coves and shadows hiding your apartment’s entrance. Your feet carrying you so mindlessly down your steps and into the cold, smoke polluted street and well..into yet again another crime..!
“Hey b!tch..pass me your purse..” Your mind suddenly so aware of the scene before you tried its hardest to fight the thug now gripping your arm and your purse . Your lips parted in protest only to be clammed shut by another thugs hand . God you hated this..living like this..all you did was step out later than usual to go cross the street to go get some snacks due to well…the usual sadness that would hit after a busy day .
You tried and tried to get the two idiots off you only to be met with a harsher grip and a slight smack to your hip , you’d probably scream if you didn’t know any better…if you didn’t go through this every week - that’s why your purse held tampons and a pack of condoms and why your card and cash was hidden in your bra..you’d grown smarter..more aware . You were so used to this that you were already expecting Red Hood to swoop in any moment and-
“Hey.-“ There he was..your hero or whatever he really was , his fists colliding with each thug as a warning . He stood tall, masked face hidden as usual , usual smug tone to his voice , “god you gotta find a better time to leave your house..!” He joked despite the already worn down, tired expression on your face ; you’d expected this and you were already expecting the following…
The thugs had yelped and run off , leaving you and an already touchy Red hood who’s usual excuse for his roaming hand was just to ‘check for any marks’ . His hand had finished its check , his body leaning against a wall as he purposefully checked you out .
“‘m fine..” you shut him down before he could even ask..Your eyes trained to the shop across the street to well distract you and make your point clear ; you’d be fine after you bought your snacks and returned home .
“uh huh…that’s why you..seem soo..” his hands made the usual movement , a scoff leaving your lips at it which only served to make him laugh , “tense” He whispered , a hand now gripping your hip as his fingers brushed against the fabric of your dress .
“Listen im-“ you tried to shut him down…multiple times but for some reason Red Hood could never stay away..maybe he just did rounds on this part of town and maybe he just happened to bump into you when trouble happened..you hoped but that was a lie , he had hacked into cameras all around to make sure you were safe ; the ones at your work , the ones pointed outside your apartment and the one he’d planted into your apartments fridge..yeah he’d placed one after you first invited…after he’d invited himself in to make sure you were fine and also to check out if a pretty thing like you was single..and safe..yeah safe..
“In need of my help once again..?” He scoffed , pushing himself off the wall and now very carefully stalking towards you. One of his hands messing with your hair as his hotter hand guided you back to the entrance of your apartment block, “listen , pretty, it’s late..hm? How about we get you to bed..?” He practically purred.
Maybe he got off on it…your trust in him, nodding along as he guided you up the stairs . You always did..always obeyed him.. how could you not ? He was a hero..right and they were always right ..so.. how could you disobey him? Especially when he stood so tall and cared so much..maybe you even got off on it..the hero caring for you.
“hmm you’ve changed your hair..” he mumbled , messing your hair up as you fiddled with the door . His hands instantly moving to wrap around your waist to push the door open , he sighed and practically pushed you inside , “maybe you should get a better lock..your doors too soft . Anyone could just bump into it and break it..” he whispered before looking around , he was proud of it ; having you wrapped his finger and nodding along looking so pretty .
“Mhm or maybe I should move ..” you joked before turning back to him, just standing in your doorway . You smiled…and probably knocked the wind out of him or well it gave that impression due to him slipping off the wall and loosing his cool ; he tried to laugh it off and just hold onto the door like the cool hero he was..or well pretending he was.
“Uh huh..like you could afford it..”he joked , his masked face giving nothing but pure animalistic energy, his gaze felt cold despite the fact you couldn’t see it ; it was there , watching you..hunting you.. You waved him off , opening your door and giggling at him .
“Save me again some time..!” You hummed , giggling as you shut your bedroom door .
“Always..” he whispered back , heading out and making sure to lock your apartment door behind himself . He waited , till the lock clicked and until he knew you’d be asleep..usually half an hour after you closing your day. He waited like a wolf waiting for its prey, that’s when he acted ; dashing out and onto the building facing yours . His eyes not leaving the slither of light shining into your bedroom , he sat there . Watching .
He knew he was wrong for this..for watching you sleep so peacefully; with a tiny skin tight pink matching set..god that drove him crazy so crazy that his hand was lazily hovering over his now forming hard on..lightly rubbing as he watched you move . Sure he could just break in and well confess but he wasn’t that much of a creep..this was easier, better..making sure you got home safe before he sat and waited for you to either wake up or just until the sun came up. Once he got bored he’d dip, going home or fighting some lowlife just to distract him . Once home he’d watch you through cameras , like the one pointed at your bedroom ; watching you change and taking screen shots for his own…use later . Jason knew better but how could he not? You were a goddess and he could only worship you like one..privately..maybe he’d make it public once you actually acknowledged him…
AAAA I don’t know how this was , let me know please babies

Please of course feel free to ignore, have a lovely day.
stood up — spencer reid
pairing: spencer reid x reader ( no use of y/n ) content warnings: mention of being hungry a/n: thank you for your request !! i hope you like this <3 ( i won't lie i giggled and kicked my legs a couple of times while writing this )
You drummed your fingers against the smooth surface of the table, the rhythmic tapping the only thing grounding you as the lump in your throat grew tighter. You blinked rapidly, trying to push back the sting of tears that threatened to spill.
Crying over this wasn’t worth it—you were an FBI agent, for god’s sake. You had seen and dealt with worse. But somehow, sitting here alone, waiting for someone who wasn’t going to show, felt like a different kind of cruelty.
Your day off was rare, something you didn’t take for granted. You had been looking forward to this—good food, good company.
Instead, you were left picking at the corner of the menu with nothing but a half-full glass of water in front of you.
A waitress passed by, offering you a small, knowing smile, the kind that made your chest ache even more.
You hated that look—the one that said, Oh, sweetheart, I’ve seen this happen before. You could almost hear her inner monologue: Poor thing, all dressed up, waiting for someone who clearly wasn't about to show up.
Your stomach growled, reminding you that despite your sour mood, you were still human. You had planned to indulge, to enjoy yourself, but now the thought of eating alone made your appetite vanish.
The door chimed as someone entered, and you glanced up out of instinct, heart foolishly clinging to hope. But it wasn’t your date. Just another happy couple, the kind of people who didn’t have to wonder if they were worth showing up for.
Five minutes later, the door opened again, but this time, you didn’t bother looking. You sighed, reaching into your bag to grab your wallet. At the very least, you needed to pay for the water and leave a tip—the waitress had been kind, even though you had done nothing but take up space.
Then, you heard it.
A voice—one you knew as well as your own heartbeat.
“Hey.”
You froze.
Slowly, you lifted your head, and there he was.
Dr. Spencer Reid stood beside your table, his gaze soft, hesitant, like he wasn’t sure if he was intruding or rescuing you from an evening gone wrong.
“Hi,” you said, your voice small. It felt like the only appropriate response, though you weren’t sure what else to say.
Spencer hesitated, shifting his weight slightly as he glanced between you and the half-finished glass of water on the table. His eyes flickered to the empty chair across from you, the one that had remained untouched all evening. His fingers curled around the strap of his bag, a telltale sign of nervousness.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
It was a ridiculous question, really. He was a profiler—of course, he could tell you weren’t okay. He had likely picked up on the tension in your shoulders, the way your fingers fidgeted with the napkin on your lap, the disappointment etched in your expression. But still, he asked.
You exhaled, looking down at the table, at the small water rings left behind by your glass. “Honestly? No.”
Your voice was quieter now, tinged with frustration and hurt. You swallowed hard before forcing the words out.
“I got stood up.”
The moment you said it, you regretted it. Saying it out loud made it feel even more real. More humiliating.
Spencer’s first thought was How?
How could anyone stand you up? Someone as incredible as you? His mind immediately went into overdrive, analyzing every possible explanation. Maybe your date had an emergency. Maybe it was a terrible reason—one he wouldn’t accept regardless. But in the end, none of it mattered, because the fact remained: someone had willingly passed up the chance to spend time with you.
And that was incomprehensible to him.
If it were him? He would have been here fifteen minutes early. He would have memorized the menu ahead of time, making sure to pick something he thought you’d like so he could suggest it in conversation. He would have done everything in his power to make sure you knew, without a doubt, that he wanted to be here.
But it wasn’t him.
And as he stood there, trying to suppress the irrational wave of frustration at a person he didn’t even know, you were thinking something else entirely—how mortifying this was.
It was bad enough to be stood up. But to be seen by him—the one person you had been trying so hard to get out of your head? That was almost unbearable.
You had told yourself that going on a date would be good for you, that it would help get your mind off of him. The wonderful, brilliant Dr. Spencer Reid, who you worked beside every day, who you admired more than you cared to admit.
And yet, here he was.
Seeing you at your lowest.
“You…” Spencer started, then hesitated. He cleared his throat before trying again. “You don’t deserve that.”
The sheer sincerity in his voice made you look up at him, surprised. His brows were furrowed, lips pressed together like he was trying to find the right words but couldn’t quite grasp them.
You forced out a weak chuckle. “Well, apparently my date thought otherwise.”
“It's still wrong.”
His voice was firm this time, leaving no room for argument.
Your heart stumbled over itself at the conviction in his tone.
Spencer shifted again, glancing at the chair across from you before meeting your eyes. “Can I… sit?”
Your breath caught for a split second.
“Yeah,” you said softly, nodding.
He pulled the chair out and sat down, setting his bag on the floor beside him. There was a beat of silence before he spoke again, more tentative this time.
“Have you eaten yet?” Spencer asked, even though he already knew the answer.
You shook your head, still feeling a little awkward about the whole situation.
“Do you want to order something?” he asked shyly, his fingers toying with the edge of the menu. “They have this great pasta dish here.” He opened the menu and turned it toward you, pointing at one of the options.
You glanced at the menu, then back at him. “You’ve been here before?”
Spencer gave a small, embarrassed smile. “I, uh… yeah. I like coming here from time to time,” he admitted, his voice soft. “It’s close by, and they have good food.” He looked back down at the menu, as if trying to downplay the fact that he had just revealed something personal.
You found yourself smiling, the initial embarrassment of him seeing you alone fading into something warmer. It was such a Spencer thing—to have a go-to spot, a little place he frequented in the city’s chaos.
Before you could say anything else, the waitress returned, her expression noticeably brighter now that you were no longer sitting alone.
“Can I take your order?” she asked, her eyes flickering between the two of you.
Spencer hesitated, waiting for you to speak first. He wasn’t going to order if you weren’t.
“I’d like this pasta dish,” you said, pointing at the menu.
From the corner of your eye, you caught the way Spencer’s lips quirked into a small, barely-there smile—like he was pleased with your choice.
“I’ll take the same thing, thank you.” he said.
The waitress jotted it down, then collected the menus. Just before turning to leave, she shot Spencer a look.
“You shouldn’t make people wait like that,” she said before disappearing into the kitchen.
Your eyes widened slightly, and Spencer’s brows furrowed in confusion before realization dawned on him.
“Oh—no, I wasn’t—” he started, turning to you quickly, his expression flustered. “She thinks I was the one who stood you up.”
You laughed—really laughed—for the first time that night. The sound was warm, genuine, and it made Spencer smile almost instinctively. He didn’t even realize he was doing it; it was just a reflex, like hearing something familiar and comforting.
You glanced at him, your heart swelling with gratitude. He didn’t have to do this—he didn’t have to walk in, sit with you, turn what had been an awful night into something… bearable. Maybe even good.
“Thank you,” you said softly, tapping your fingers against the table in a nervous rhythm. “You know… for sitting with me.”
Spencer’s gaze was already on you, observing you in that way only he could—like he was memorizing every detail. You met his eyes, feeling a little shy under the weight of his attention.
“You don’t have to thank me,” he said simply. “I like spending time with you.”
The words landed somewhere deep in your chest, pushing past the leftover humiliation of being stood up and settling into something warmer, something that made your breath catch.
You weren’t sure what to say to that. Because you liked spending time with him too. More than you probably should.
Before you could respond, the waitress returned, placing your plates in front of you with a satisfied nod. “Enjoy,” she said before heading off to another table.
Spencer adjusted his napkin, giving you a small, expectant look. “You know,” he said, “statistically speaking about 20% of first dates end in one person being stood up.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Is that supposed to make me feel better?”
He hesitated, then winced slightly. “I… thought it might?”
You laughed again, shaking your head. “Spencer, you really have a way with words.”
Spencer grinned, nudging his plate slightly closer. “Maybe, but… if you think about it, those statistics also mean that 80% of the time, the date actually happens. So, technically, the odds are in your favor for the future.”
You hummed thoughtfully. “That’s if I decide to go on another date.”
Spencer stilled for a fraction of a second before composing himself. “You might,” he said carefully. “If the right person asked.”
Something about the way he said it made your pulse quicken.
You glanced up at him, a playful glint in your eyes. “You’re not trying to set me up with someone, are you?”
Spencer opened his mouth, then closed it, looking slightly flustered. “No! No, I— I wouldn’t, um…” He exhaled sharply, shaking his head. “I just meant… someone better will ask. Someone who won’t stand you up.”
“Is this your way of asking me on a date, Dr. Reid?” you asked softly, tilting your head as you looked at him.
Spencer’s eyes widened slightly, and for a moment, he seemed completely thrown off. His fingers twitched near his napkin, and he suddenly found the salt shaker incredibly interesting. “I mean—uhm—I…” He trailed off, clearing his throat as he stared anywhere but at you.
You bit your lip, trying to suppress a laugh. Watching Spencer Reid—genius, profiler, and one of the most brilliant minds you knew—struggle to form a coherent sentence was both endearing and adorable.
Then, after a long pause, he finally looked up at you, his nervous smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
“…Aren’t we kind of on a date right now?”
Your heart skipped a beat.
The biggest grin formed on your face, one you couldn’t hide even if you tried.
“I guess so,” you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper as you looked down at your plate, suddenly feeling shy.
The butterflies in your stomach screamed, your nerves a tangled mess of excitement and disbelief.
A pause. Then, he shifted in his seat, his fingers pressing together as if debating whether or not to say what was on his mind.
Finally, he did.
“I… I like you,” he admitted, voice quieter now. “I have for a while.”
Your breath hitched.
You had spent so much time trying to push your feelings for him away, convincing yourself they were one-sided. But now, hearing the words from his mouth—it was almost overwhelming.
“You do?” you asked, voice barely above a whisper.
Spencer nodded, eyes flickering between yours, searching for any sign that he had made a mistake. “I do.” He let out a small breath, shaking his head as if in disbelief. “I think I’ve liked you from the moment we met. I just… never thought you’d feel the same.”
You could’ve laughed at how ridiculous that sounded, at how blind he had been.
Instead, you reached across the table, hesitantly resting your hand over his. His fingers tensed for a brief second before relaxing under your touch.
“Spencer,” you murmured, looking at him with nothing but affection, “I’ve liked you for a long time, too.”
His lips parted slightly, as if the words had momentarily stunned him. Then, a breathy chuckle left him, one of pure, unfiltered relief. “You have?”
You squeezed his hand gently. “I have.”
Spencer licked his lips, nodding to himself as if processing everything before smiling—really smiling. “Well, that’s… that’s good.”
You laughed softly, squeezing his hand once more before pulling back, the warmth still lingering between you.
“Yeah,” you agreed, picking up your fork at last. “It really is.”
And just like that, the night that had started as a disaster became something else entirely—something perfect.

1986 : The Record Label approves Corroded Coffin
"Where is she?!?" Eddie heavily breathes as he whipped his head everywhere to catch a glimpse of your figure but none seems to show
"She was here a minute ago- hey, what's going on?!?" Gareth wipes his beading forming sweat on his forehead
"Jeff!" He shouts out loud he did not mean to capturing everyone's attention in the bar
He looked at his panting friend who places his palms over his knees as he heaves air on his chest, confusion is written all over his face as he walks up to him
"Dude, are you okay-" he bend slightly to meet his gaze as he places his hand over his friend's shoulder as he dismissive his hand at him
"Y/N, where is she?" The desperation is clear to his eyes, this night was supposed to be eventful but it didn't worked out the way he thought it would be
"I-I saw her hopped into the taxi with a suitcase" Jeff stammers as he looked over at Eddie's shoulder someone is approaching them
"W-What?!? a suitcase?" He exclaims but before he could ask again, a familiar voice called out to him
"Eddie!"
"Harrington-" He furrowed his brows at him
"She told me to tell you-" he cuts him off, Steve took a deep breath before saying that could scarred his friend forever
"Tell me what?" He demands as he directly looked at him

1990 : Present Day
Fuck
Yeah, seriously fuck
It's been 4 years since the last time you ever laid eyes on him, is it just you or he looked like as if you're in the top of the world
Does he still loved you? until now?
Shit, you feel guilty for what you have done, selfish as it sounds, you save yourself first
But, at what cost? is it worth it?
.....if you could put down your pride, just speak the damn truth....no, it's not worth it
You regretted everything
and now, he's here accidentally bumped into your grocery cart in the dairy aisle at the supermarket
You discreetly put the milk slowly on the cart as you stop eye contacting to him, completely nervous to see him again
"Y/N? is it really you?"
You speak without looking at him, "y-yeah"
He quickly walks up closer to you as he tries to get your gaze back to him, you take a step back slightly as he spoke again, "I asked for this"
That's where you look back at him, "What?"
"I wished and asked that I get the chance to finally see you again"
He saw the guilt flicker in your eyes, you swallowed hard, the beating inside of your chest went fast forward
"It's been 4 years, Y/N, I-I just wanted to know what happened to...." He trails off as he sighs, "To us" he gestures his finger to you and to him
You know he deserves to know
It's your own goddamn fucking pride is what should be shut down
You just look at him and blink as you ignore his question as you move past him along with your cart
"Y/N! what-"
"It's nice seeing you, Eddie"
"But-"
"Goodbye"
You said it without sparing him a glance as he stare at the back of your head as he follows your figure walking away
He took a step forward as he hesitates to tail you, he sighs as he scratches the top of his head trying to understand what made you act this way
He doesn't even recognized you, it's like you changed
It may be 4 fucking years ago but still he is starting to get pissed off
Pissed off at the fact that you are simply trying to avoid him or get away from him as much as possible
He had rewind his memory to every moment that has happened in your relationship together, if he missed out on something that you displeased you
You could've addressed it to him not acting weird like this
He self-reflected but still there is this feeling that you're hiding about something but what is it?
But still, even the heights of this circus series of life events, he remains the same old Eddie, very patient and most of all very selfless
One of the workers at the supermarket asked him to move aside as they tried to place products on the shelves that made him snap out of his train of thoughts
He continues on his errands, once again, he saw you there, already at the check out, he deflated, you didn't react that way before to him like that and it confuses him
What the hell happened?

1984 : Prom
"Eddie!"
"What?"
You rolled your eyes playfully as he brings you closer to him holding your waist gently
You always loved how unserious he was as he stopped peppering you kisses on your whole face
You both swayed to the slow music playing at the background as he spoke again
"I've never thought that I could attend something like this"
"Yeah?" He raises both of his eyebrows as he uses his freehand to caress your bare shoulder
"To be clear, I don't hate it until I met you, now I am getting to understand why everybody else loves this" you say enunciate your point as you look around in the gymnasium
"I have no plans either, everything changed when I met you too" he says with so much certainty
"Really?" You bring back your gaze to him with hopeful look on your eyes and his heartaches how you sounded so in disbelief
"Are you kidding? you should've been the queen of the night! somebody bribed the damn thing" he dramatically exclaims as he gestures at one of the popular girls who always won every year
You laughed as you push him by the chest as he heartily chuckles
It's true, everyone's eyes are on you, Eddie reassures that you look in fact absolutely mesmerizing, he knows that you're so self-conscious and you're thinking too hard about it
"Y/N, you're so freaking beautiful" he says without a doubt as he cupped both of your cheeks
Your high from your laughter slowly died down abruptly but the smile has never left in your pretty face
You melt within his touch as you close your eyes as you place your hands over on top of him
"I....I love you" he declares it as he happily chuckles, he's so certain of it by the tone of his voice
You open your eyes and the tears starts to prick, "E-Eddie"
He shushes you, "I just wanted you to know that, it's true, sweetheart"
You slowly blink as you try not to shed any tear as he hugs you

1990 : Present Day
"Y/N, what-" he abruptly stops as he saw your expression
The cold features are sitting rightly on your face as the man stood before you as he dart his eyes back and forth at you and back in the grocery store
He watches as you aggressively put the paper bags at the backseat of the car, he clears his throat, "Who got you so crabby all of the sudden-"
"Get in the fucking car, Steve, I'm not in the mood-" you say to him as he can feel your eyes stabbing him as if he's the one who got you pissed off
"Y/N!"
Steve furrows his eyebrows in confusion as he followed the familiar voice who is jogging on the way to you
"Oh shit"
"You can say that again" you say as you slam the door shut making Steve flinch in the process as he breathes out as places his hands over his hips
"Y/N, please, I just really need to talk to you-"
"Eddie, I seriously have to go now"
"Whatever it is that I've done back then, I am truly sorry!"
Steve looks at him in apologetically as he licks his lips, "Y/N, have a heart-"
"Don't start with me, Steve, get inside of the car!" You hit the hood of the car as you point an angry finger on him making Steve's jaw clench at your stubbornness
"Y/N, we've talked about this" Steve shakes his head as he motions to his old friend
Meanwhile, Eddie is puzzled to almost like sibling argument as he spoke once again, "What is it that you both talked about?"
That's when you both stop bantering at each other as you exasperated sigh as you and Steve share the same knowing look that you're trying to avoid for 4 years
"You can't escape this, Y/N!"
"Goddamn it! just drop it-"
"Give him a fucking chance!" Steve shouts back not giving a care to the people who are overhearing this conversation
Steve had enough of it, he is so done with being considerate with you, you need this confrontation
All he ever does is to be a good friend to you but he can't just fucking tolerate this behavior of yours especially when Eddie has never done anything wrong to you
Eddie didn't know that Steve was eating up a lot of conscience for keeping a very personal and delicate information about you
But, this isn't his problem, this is your life, but also he can't help but to meddle with your stupid decisions
"You gotta stop this, Y/N" Steve scratches his chin as he spoke through gritted teeth
"I am a little lost here-" Eddie shifts his foot sideways as he looks both of you for answers
"Your girlfriend is a fucking coward, that's what" Steve punctuates the word making his point as he exaggerates it
You glare at Steve who doesn't even give a shit about that look that you're giving to him
"Fuck you, Steve"
"See? What the hell are you even doing? You're running away again"
You're not going to be cornered not this time, not ever, you will put the pin back on the grenade, you can't say it out loud now
You fumbled with your keys as you finally get inside of the car
"Get out of the damn car, Y/N, we are not finished here" Steve says at the window of your seat as you stare at him
"Back off!" You yell as you flip him off as you ignite the engine, he surrenders as he looked at you in disappointment
You accidentally stare through Eddie's eyes, swirling in so much longing, longing for you
You almost faltered but you decided against it as you drove away
"This is bullshit, she's going to tell you the truth one way or another" Steve crosses his arms as he watches your car in the distance
"Tell me what?" Eddie appears in front of him with perplexed expression
"What happened back in 1985"

1985 : Making it Official
Mascara's running down, your lipstick is smeared, your eyes are watery, your hair is a fucking mess as Eddie got you folded into half as he thrusts into you like his life depends on it
Your clothes are scattered everywhere in his room and so does his, he is so sexy, aggressive and gentleman at the same time, the way he handles you, he understands what you needed and your wants, he prioritizes more of your enjoyment and pleasure rather than his
You don't know how absolutely you feel of the way he's treating you like this, you feel so freaking special like it's so uncommon for you and also felt wrong for you to be treated nicely
He always said that you deserve it, you're worth it, you're capable of being loved and you will always will be loved, he's trying to remove that thing out of you
That you're always telling yourself that you're unlovable
He will be the first and last to you, a few guys here and there before him trying to hit on you, it's a big no for you, the only man that can only have access to you is him and it makes you feel a lot of emotions, you feel euphoric but also you felt you're about to cry
One big loud moan escapes your lips as Eddie groans when you don't stop clenching around him
When he kept that same rhythm and motion over and over your moans started to stagger as your mouth hanging out as your eyes roll back as you lift your hips to catch that sensation
He grunts, "Fuck, Y/N" he looks down as he watches his member slipping in and out of your pulsating cunt so smoothly and easily sheaths back and forth as he kisses you hungrily making you squeal and writhe beneath him
He swallows your moans as he pants as he bottoms harder into your core, he lift your wobbly arms as he goes deeper to you as you bring your legs to lock him in place and pull him closer to you
"aah- Eddie!" You croak out as you breathy sigh and whimper, he moans as he says your name and praises you
Your eyes starts to feel heavy as you feel him everywhere, the sinful sounds of both of your bodies slapping and the squelch makes you even more wetter and you can't deny that it's turning you on
"Shit, you feel so good"
"Oh my god! Right there!"
"Yeah? You like that?"
"Don't sto-p p-please!"
He removes the hold from your arms as he lay it over his shoulders as you held him onto your dear life
He grips your hips tighter, you know you can't fucking walk for days or he will absolutely leave marks on there but you don't care, you feel like jelly
His eyes scans over the shades of purple spots are all over your neck and especially on the mounds of your breasts actually before he doves into you, you're already so worked up when he took a mouthful and kneaded your boobs so naturally
You chant his name when you tell him you're getting closer and does he as you arch your back as he lets out a guttural groan as your moans turned into high pitched tone as he sloppily kisses you, he rolls his hips once more spilling his load to your velvety walls
"Can't believe that you're my girlfriend" he says muffled as you can feel his smile at the crook of your neck
You chuckle as you try to reconnect with the earth
Both of you are breathing heavily as he collapsed on top of you as you instantly wrapped your arms around him, embracing him as you inhale his scent making you sigh in content
He gets up abruptly with the fear on his eyes, his eyes goes all over, you missed the way he looked at your stomach worriedly
You're not in the right headspace to find out what's going on as your brain feels like a mashed potatoes
"What's wrong?" You say lazily as you half-lidded awake
"I-uh- we should've used protection today, sweets"
"Oh...." you say as you take his hand in yours as you moved closer to him
The silence is deafening him and the nervousness grows even more bigger
"It's fine, Eddie, I loved how you feel inside of me"
"Y-Yeah?"
"Yes, Eddie, I do very much" you say as you yawn and he can see you're fighting off the sleep but still he needs confirmation that you're alright of what just happened
He blushes as he took a sigh of relief, "I-I am still sorry-" he immediately apologizes but you cut him off by saying
"I don't care, if you didn't pull out, I...love...you"
You left him with that as you fastly drifted to sleep, he is dumbfounded of what you just said to him, it's the first time ever you said that to him and he blinks one or twice he lost count but he just smiles as he admires you as he removes your hair out of the way from your face as he kisses your forehead
He pulls out of the covers as he carefully put blanket over to your body and his as he lift your head so you can lay over his arm as you mindlessly get comfortable from his warmth he smiles yet again when you lay your hand against his chest
"Oh, Y/N, how I love you so"
*Months later on that same year*
You feel nauseous everytime you eat, you didn't tell Eddie about it, but you've been like this for weeks now, you're having thoughts when you shouldn't be worrying about
But somehow, you're monitoring it, and it shows that you have possible signs of..... let's not go there
Eddie is so laser-focused on his music career and he's getting so well on it and you couldn't even more proud of him
A true artist, the attention to detail on every guitar chords that he's strumming and music sheets that are splayed all over his bed everytime you come over to his house, you've been so supportive of him and you always uplift no matter what happens, he works hard and he's saving up for everything that you both needed
He won't stop until he feels 100% satisfied with his work, he's very meticulous and the important of it all is that you're honest when he shows you a sample of his music, if you don't think it's a good record then he will write another set of songs, that's how much he trusts your opinion and it's like you're a part of his band, you watching them grow and help together, they're still act playful and being so goofy every so often when they're together but when it's about their goal? they're locked in with the mission to be recognized as real artists
Not some schmuck desperate rock band as the town would say
Yeah, you're brutally honest when it comes to this
But, what about your feelings?
"Eds, I'm going to take the restroom in a jiffy" you say as you swing your purse over your shoulder
He nods as he squeezes your hand, "You okay, sweetheart?"
You flash in a small smile, "Yeah, I'm fine, I think, I'm just tired is all"
He whispers, "Okay" he goes back canvassing music equipment in a department store
You finally have the restroom to yourself as you clutch in with your purse as you took a deep breath and you take out the oh-so-familiar device that indicates whether you think you are indeed carrying a child or not
You lock yourself in the stall and disinfect the toilet as you sat on it and pull down your underwear as you let your urine take a few drops on the mark
You clean yourself up as you get out of the cubicle and place the device on the neat surface of the sink as you wash your hands
You stare at it, you didn't take your eyes off it as you reach for the paper towel and you know it will appear for a few minutes
You see the one line already as you wait for the other one, you bit your lip as your knees start to bop out of your forming anxiety
The knock on the door startled you, a small gasp fell out from your lips
"Y/N? honey? are you done? I found the one that I like and I need your thoughts about it"
"Uh, yeah, just give me a second!"
You freshen up and keep it cool as you retouch your lipstick, you glance at the device and you did a double look on it
You picked it up as you slowly bring it closer to you for a better look, the second line is faded until it comes out it full color as you stumble slightly in your stance as you look yourself of your reflection in the mirror, it's positive
You're pregnant

1990 : Present Day
"You're fucking insane"
"Trust the process, man-"
"She can't even just talk to me!"
Eddie mutters "sorry" to the people who are dining in the café
"It won't work" he whisper-shout to his old friend who is stirring his cup of coffee
"It will work" he corrects him as he takes a sip of his coffee
"When you say it, it sounded so easy-" Eddie scratches his head as he grumbles leaning backward at the seat
"You have to do it, Eddie, it's both for your own good" Steve tuts him as he states his point as he raises a finger at him
Eddie listens carefully as he sighs and nods at him to continue
"All you have to do is to corner her, she is strong-headed but I feel you're her weakness, she can't even stand you the moment you both just got reunited after 4 years" He throws his hands up as he scoffs as the scene earlier replays on his mind
"Harrington, I'm sorry-"
"What in the hell are you apologizing for?"
"For bringing you into this mess of mine" Eddie huffs as his eyes wandered around the diner as he watches people coming by
No, actually, it was you who brought up Steve into your goddamn business, but he didn't mind at all but a part of him is also feel like a bad friend for not saying the truth at all to his greatest pal that only to be reunited in this way when he wished it was other way around not like this
He also wants to fix this, it's been long overdue and he been keeping this for 4 years
"Hey, Munson"
"Yeah?"
"Whatever happens to you and Y/N, when you find out what really happened back then, if you did get mad at me, I understand and I deserve that and it's not my place to speak for her, she's the one must tell everything to you not me"
He listens intently as he tips his head slightly, "Well, I appreciate you for being honest"
He smiles then as his eyes lighten up, "Thanks, man"
Steve told him that you mostly walk at the park every Sunday at 8am, he said is the only peace time you have and then go back to your usual schedule
Eddie was sitting over a bench like half an hour until he straightens up seeing you there as you took in the sight of the river
He slowly get up and walks towards to you, he takes in a deep breath before he prays in his mind that this hopefully ends well
"Y/N?"
Your heartbeat stopped at the sound of his voice, you thought you're only imagining it as you slowly turn around to see the man right in front of you as he kept a personal space between the two of you
"What are you doing here?" You say as you look behind and sideways scarily
"I wanted to talk to you-"
"That's not gonna happen" you say plainly as you begin to walk off leaving him behind once again
Steve's right, you're a hard one to hold to stay put in place, "Y/N! you can't even give me a chance to speak!"
"What's there to talk about?!?" You argue as you continue to walk with the scowl on your face
He huffs with a laugh, "You can't get rid me off like this everytime-"
"Oh, yes I can!" You fight back as you stomp faster as he kept up with the pace
"Why are you dodging it?" The frustration on his voice is clear and it fuels you more
"You're fucking infuriating!" You reason with him, god, you can feel you're losing it, your time is out, you can't get away this time
He laughs in disbelief, "Wow? I am infuriating?!? and so are you!" He points to you as he breathes heavily
When you fall silent as he keeps following you, all you do is just briefly glare at him as you both walk past by people
"This is fucking getting out of hand, sweetheart, stop it" he says firmly as he shooks his head sideways
"Don't tell me what to-" you counter
"Stop it, I say!" He commands and before you open your mouth and he beats you to it
He goes right in front of you, blocking your path as you tried to get out of the way
"Look what the fuck what you're doing, scurrying away the moment when things get serious"
The tears began to prickle and sting behind your eyes as you try not to let him hold you, he hesitated everytime he really wanted to touch you, "Don't push me, Eddie-" you scoff
"Nah, I'm gonna push you once and for all, sweetheart, you're not going to win this time" your heart drops when he takes a grip tightly on holding both of your shoulders as you try to get out of his grasp but it won't budge
"Fuck you! Eddie, step away-" you cuss him out of your anger as the tears are threatening to spill anytime soon
"Stop being so difficult and just tell me!" His voice cracks and for a moment your face faltered, he saw it, all you need was a push
"I ain't got nothing to tell you!" One tear escaped from your eyes as you angrily wipe it off
"Oh yeah? What about what happened in 1985? you're not physically okay, I've never asked what's going on but I fucking know for sure something is up"
Your chest tightens when you look at him in the eyes and you can see he is determined to know what happened back there before
"N-No-" you stutter as you can't form any words after that, you have no more reasons to blew him off, you lose
He knew?
"I might be in a tight schedule in that timeline but I never overlooked of what's going with you, sweetheart, you can't fool me" he looks down at you with the same adoring eyes, it feels 1984 all over again and your stomach churns of what's coming
Your lips began to tremble as you look at him, you can't look away now, he's got you
"I know you still love me, Y/N, you're just being in denial"
"N-No, I don't-"
"What are you holding back from?"
You frown at him as the angry tears starts to roll in your cheeks as you hit his chest as he still kept holding you
"You don't remember it but I do, it was only one time you told me and I never stopped believing"
You know exactly what he's talking about
The night that you both made love for the first time
"I fucking hate you-" you cry out as you grab a fist from his shirt as you muffled sob in his chest
"We both know that's not true" he softly says as he pulls back you to look at you
The fire in your eyes has simmered down, only what's left is the fear in your eyes
"Why did you left in 1986?"
The words caught up in your throat as you gulped to his question
No, you can't lie to him anymore
"I-I was scared" another fresh set of tears cascading down as he wipes with his thumb
"Scared of what?!?"
"I was afraid!" You sniffled as you wept in front of him as you angrily ripped off his warm hands to your cupped cheeks
He looks at you as he waits for answer patiently, you try to muster up
"I was afraid of you finding out" you swallow as you duck your head down in shame
Before he asks again, in the corner of his eye, someone is running up to you
"Mommy!" the little girl with arms open wide as the small hands making a grabby action insinuating for you to pick her up
You whipped your head to scrouch down in front of your baby girl as you greet her as you manage to make a small smile as you kissed the crown of her head
Eddie knew his intuition but still he is taken aback from the revelation
You slowly meet his gaze, you thought you will see pure hatred towards you, but there was none
All you can see he is glad as you can see the corners of his lips turned upward to form a contented smile
The little girl is unbeknownst to the man who is looking at her with love on his eyes, she tilts her head as she waves at him, Eddie shyly waves back
"Okay, I'm done with cuddling" you chuckle as you put her down as she ran off playing with the other kids in the park
Eddie's eyes are fixed on his daughter and the giggle of her voice are such a blessing to his ears as he smiles at it
Your breaths are shallow as you can see him moving closer beside you
"She's beautiful"
"Yeah" you whisper
"Beautiful like her mother" he says as he looks at you as his eyes twinkle
The guilt creeps into your eyes as you're the one who takes his hand into yours as you became stunned when he gently squeezes it
"E-Eddie, I am so sorry, I know it's unforgivable for what I've done, I-I'm just so terrified-" you ramble as he dismissive his hand at you
"Of what? if I ever find out that you we're pregnant?"
You nodded and the hope is clear in your eyes, "I was mortified if you ever find out that you will..." you trail off as you shake your head
He lifts your chin up to meet his gaze once again, "I will?"
"In 1986, you brought the news to me that you're accepted in the record label and I tried to tell you so many times but I really couldn't bring it up to you and I didn't wanna be a burden on your dream, so, I just left" you sob as you close your eyes and you feel the weight of your shoulders finally eased out
"Oh honey, you will never be a burden to me" he kisses your hands as you let him embrace you
At that point, he understood what Steve meant to him at the diner last night and it doesn't matter to him anymore
All is forgiven, what's important to him that he's got you and you're back with him
The wait was worth it as he smiles down at you as he caressed your head
You pulled back with uncertainty in your eyes, "Do you hate me?" He knits his eyebrows at you
His eyes softens, "I can never hate you" he tucked a piece of hair into your ear
"Do you hate me?" He brings back the question to you as he pulls you impossibly close as you lock your eyes with his as he looks down at your lips anticipating his next move
"I lied to you, you always knew the truth" he lets you finish as he dives in
He captured your lips as you feel lushed pressing your chest against him as you throw your arms to kiss him back, melting as both your mouth and his collided to one another
"And that is?" He reaches back to peck another kiss to your lips as you smile at him, your heart is soaring as you both glance at your girl as you bring back your eyes to him as you confidently admit....
"I love you"

Chapter 6
Meanwhile Duke and you spent the afternoon playing at an arcade and while you were playing, Duke checked the family group. Dick had sent a message calling for a meeting but he ignored it and decided to focus on spending time with you.
Alfred's plan must have already started
After playing for a while you both decided to go to dinner at Duke's favorite restaurant so you could talk in a more relaxed way. These moments with you made Duke feel like he was a little kid again, forgetting about school, his parents' tragedy and even that he was a vigilante. Once you got to the restaurant and sat at your table, you talked a little about some series and video games that you both liked until Duke asked something that he had never dared to ask before.
"Can I ask you a question, (Name)?"
"Sure!" you nodded
"Why are you studying journalism?" the younger one asked
Duke was not stupid, he was also a detective like the rest of the family, he knew that your career decision had been made because of the death of your parents, but he wanted to know about your life before the mansion.
And so maybe he'll know how to make your next stay more comfortable
"Well umm..." you said a little thoughtfully but still smiling
"I don't think I've told you about my mom and... and my dad, right? Before I went to live at Wayne Manor" you specified
Duke just shook his head as he waited for you to continue talking.
"Well, I chose my career because of them"
"And why?" Duke asked a little more insistently "And Bruce wasn't your father?"
"I mean, if Bruce is my father biologically speaking but..." you sighed and looked at him with a sad smile
"I think it won't hurt to tell you. I trust you" you took his hand in yours and squeezed gently making Duke smile at you
"Before living in Wayne Manor, I lived with my mom and another man, his name was (F/N) (father's name) and he met my mother when she had found out that she was pregnant with me. They met by chance, my mother was a great scientist and he was a journalist and the day they met, he came to interview Bruce for a new project they were doing. He was lost in the big building of Wayne Enterprices and that's where he found mom. She kindly helped him and from what he once told me he was immediately smitten by her. They started dating and ended up falling in love but before that my mom found out that she was pregnant with me and it was clearly not (F/N)'s, but when she told him about her pregnancy and who I was child of, he didn't care and he was with her throughout her pregnancy. Mom quit Wayne Enterprises and moved in with my father. Then I was born and everything was perfect until... one day it wasn't anymore..." you started to tell him, but at the end of your story you had a more somber face
"I..." Duke wanted to talk but he didn't know what to say "And... what happened next?"
You hesitated to talk but he was Duke, he was YOUR brother, of course you could trust him
"Dad was covering an event in downtown Gotham when there was an explosion near the place. I remember it like it was yesterday" you smiled sadly "I was always excited to see him on television and that day was no exception. My mother and I were in the TV room, she was sitting on the couch while laughing at my excitement and I was sitting on the floor in front of the TV. And it was when he was announcing the capture of the Joker in a building when an explosion happened causing the signal to cut out. My mother immediately took me away from the TV and we both went to my room where she tried to calm me down, making sure he was okay but I knew she was scared too. Hours later I fell asleep but I woke up to my mom crying and that was when I knew dad hadn't made it. The funeral was the next day and even though she tried to look strong I knew she was just as bad or worse off than me. Months later, my mom started getting sick, I thought it was because of her low mood but she soon had to be admitted to the hospital. She was diagnosed with terminal cancer and had at most a few months left, in the meantime I stayed with a neighbor, she was an old lady but I saw her as a grandmother. She took me to see my mom every day and one of those days I heard them talking about my real father. Mom tried to convince my nanny to adopt me when she was gone but my nanny refused, she said I would live a better life with my biological father. Weeks later she died too and immediately child services contacted Bruce and well you know the rest"
You looked at Duke still with a small smile
"Does anyone else know all this?" Duke asked after a few seconds of silence
"Nope" you shook your head "Well, Alfred but in a very general way, just what child services told him when he picked me up from that place"
"And yes, I chose to study journalism because of my father. He inspired me a lot when I was little and to this day my dad and mom do it. So, have you finished that project you told me about the other day?"
"Let me walk you home" you said to Duke as you walked through the almost dark streets of Gotham
"Oh no, really! I don't want to cause you any trouble" Duke said a little embarrassed
"Of course not Duke!" you put a hand on his shoulder and squeezed him a little "You're my brother, I'm not going to leave you alone in these dangerous streets"
"I'm a vigilante" he reminded you
"And?" you hugged him
"You're always going to be my little brother"
"You're embarrassing me!" the boy exclaimed as he tried to separate himself from the hug although to be honest, he would never reject a hug from you
"Oh no, they just grow up and they don't even want a hug from their sibling anymore" you said dramatically making both of them laugh
"But seriously, I'll give you a ride to Wayne Manor" you said
"Do you have a car?!" He asked surprised
"No... but a motorcycle, I left it in a parking lot near here. Let's go."
They walked until they reached a parking lot where you had your motorcycle at the back. You handed him your helmet so he could put it on.
"What about you?" Duke asked when he noticed that you only had one helmet
"Don't worry, I'm more worried about you" you said as you got on your motorcycle, followed by him
"Ready?" you turned to look at him
"Ready!" he nodded
"Okay, hold on!" you said before starting the motorcycle
The more Jason looked through the box, the more he felt like he knew you. You liked taking pictures, that was a fact and on the last pages of the album you had some notes next to the photo, describing the situation of the photo.
"Jason?" a voice called from the door of the living room, it was Dick
Realizing that Jason hadn't heard him, the acrobat approached and touched his shoulder making Jason jump a little because he wasn't expecting it.
"What do you want, Dickhead?" he asked irritated
"I was..." Dick interrupted his words when he saw that his brother had several things around him
"What is that?" Jason turned to look at your things again, his expression less hard.
"They're (Name)'s"
"And who gave them to you?" Dick asked as he sat next to him
"Alfred"
"Alfred? Why would he have (Name)'s things?" Dick asked as he grabbed a small purple blanket
"It's some stuff that they probably threw away over time or forgot to take" Jason said as he looked back at the photo album Dick noticed Jason's gaze that was resting on the book and decided to take it but before he could do so Jason grabbed Dick's wrist preventing him from doing so which caused the older man to look at him strangely.
"Jason..?" His voice brought him back to reality.
"Yeah I'm sorry" he let go of his wrist
"It's a photo album. It's (Name)'s" Jason let Dick take the album and he started to flip through it in silence while Jason looked at other things in the box.
"Who is this man?" Dick asked referring to your father
"I have no idea" Jason admitted
"Maybe Babs can recognize him" he said to continue looking at the photos
"Wait... Do you have photos with them?!" Dick exclaimed in surprise
"Yeah..." Jason smiled proudly
"And why don't I have a picture with them?!" Dick said dramatically "I'm their older brother!"
"But I'm their favorite brother" Jason stressed
That couldn't be possible! Dick was EVERYONE'S favorite brother! How could Jason be YOURS?!
"You damn...!" Dick was going to throw himself at Jason if it wasn't for a presence behind them
"What the hell is going on?" asked Bruce who looked at them confused
"And who is all this from?"
"It's from (Name)" said his sons at the same time
"Have you found anything?" asked Jason to Bruce
"No" sighed Bruce as he sat on the couch
"The day of their departure they turned off the cameras for several hours and cleaned their room excellently well"
Jason sighed a little desperate.
"Well... We haven't found anything either but, Jason found this" Dick gave Bruce the album
"Maybe it won't help in finding them but maybe it will help... get to know them better" Dick spat out those last words as if he was ashamed of not knowing his brother/sister for 15 years Bruce started looking at the album like his two sons had done before
"And this man?" he asked when he saw your father of course he remembered your mother, she was very beautiful but equally intelligent.
Yes, it was a very serious loss in his company when she left but this man, he had already seen him before but... where?
"We don't know" Jason said
"I'm going to tell Tim, Stephanie and Barbara to identify him" Bruce said taking the photo of your first birthday. You looked so happy despite being only one year old and what a beautiful smile, it was just like your mother's but... he had never seen him up close
"And what are the others doing?" Jason asked, snapping him out of his thoughts
"Tim, Stephanie, and Barbara are in the Batcave looking through the cameras, and if they have social media, Damian and Cass are still in their room looking for a clue, although to be honest, I'm starting to doubt it," Bruce sighed again
"And Duke?" Jason asked
"Duke..?" Bruce's eyes suddenly opened as he remembered the newest member of the Wayne Family
"He didn't answer or see the messages I sent to the group either," Dick said as he checked his cell phone
"That's it! Duke!" Bruce exclaimed with a smile on his face, causing Dick and Jason to look at each other in confusion
"Okay...?”
“In the morning Duke had told me that he was going out with (Name) so he should know where they are" he explained to them
"Duke and (Name) get along?" Jason asked surprised and a little jealous
"That's right, Master Jason" said Alfred who was standing at the entrance of the room
"Young Master Duke and Master (Name) have maintained a friendly relationship since he arrived at the mansion" explained the older name
"Ha!" laughed Dick while patting him on the back "It seems that you are no longer his favorite"
That made Jason feel a pressure in his chest.
He had to be YOUR FAVORITE again
"Alfred could you give this to Tim, Steph and Barbara, please?" Bruce gave Alfred the photo of your first birthday "Have them identify the man in the picture"
"Of course, Master Bruce" nodded the butler and then left
"So what? Are we going to wait for Duke to arrive?" Jason asked a little gruffly, still angry
"I think we shouldn't wait for him to arrive, Master Jason," Alfred commented as he looked out the window
"Why do you say that?" Dick asked as the three men stood up
"Because he is already here.”
"Well bro, this is where I'm at" you said as you stood on your motorcycle in front of the large doors that gave access to the great Wayne mansion
"Are you sure you don't want to go in and say hello to Alfred?" Duke asked as he took off his helmet and gave it to you
"No thanks. I love Alfred but I wouldn't go in that place again for the life of me" you said as you covered the license plates of your motorcycle with your jacket now that Duke got off. You were a little paranoid like your father but could you be blamed? This place gave you the creeps.
"Okay then I think this is where we say goodbye" Duke said a little sad and you could notice it. You chuckled and hugged him without getting off your motorcycle.
"It's not a final goodbye, besides you have my number" you smiled at him
"I know, but the fact that you don't even live here now is very strange to me. I really miss you"
"And I miss you, little brother" you hugged him one last time
"Text me when you get home" he said once you put on your helmet
"Sure" you nodded as you started your bike
"See you later Duke! I love you"
"I love you too, (Name)" that was the last thing you said to each other before you left for your house
Duke sighed as he watched you leave, not looking back. He walked towards the entrance where the doors opened upon recognition and then walked a flight further until he reached the double doors of the large mansion.
Before he could knock on the door Alfred opened it and greeted him with his usual neutral tone of voice and a small smile which indicated to him that everything was going according to his plan.
"Good evening, young master" Alfred let him in
"Good evening Alfred"
"Master Bruce is waiting for you in the living room with young masters Dick and Jason" Alfred told him as Duke hung his jacket on the coat rack in the entrance
"And why are you looking for me?"
"To ask you about (Name)”
"You were looking for me Bruce?" asked Duke as he peeked through the door to the living room to see the three men sitting in the living room
"That's right Duke" nodded Bruce as he motioned for the younger man to sit
"Okay" he nodded as he took a seat next to Dick "What happened?"
"I need you to tell me everything you know about (Name)" Bruce told him
"And for what?" Duke acted confused
Bruce sighed. No matter how many times he repeated it, it always embarrassed him.
"I want to apologize to them"
"We ALL want to apologize to them" Dick corrected knowing that Bruce was not the only one to blame for this situation
"I have not been a good father to them, I didn't even try and now I see the consequences. My firstborn is away from this family because of me. I should have been more aware of them but I thought that since they weren't a vigilante, they would need less of my attention and now I see how wrong I was" he explained to Duke and then looked him in the eyes
"But you have been able to make a connection with them, and now I need all the information I can get from them so I can find them and tell them all that and more"
Duke sighed but inside he felt satisfaction seeing Bruce in that state, for all the harm he had caused his sibling.
A little punishment never hurt anyone, right?
But if he wanted you to come home then he had to help them, besides he still didn't know where you lived.
"Okay, but I don't have much information," Duke told him.
"We'll judge that," Jason said now, looking at him with a somewhat hard look.
Had he already discovered that he was now (Name)'s favorite?
That only filled him with more satisfaction.
"Okay," he nodded.
Before Bruce could say anything else, Tim arrived in the room, interrupting their conversation.
"Bruce, we've already identified the man."
They all went down to the Batcave and down there were Barbara and Stephanie talking and in the background, on the screen, they saw several pictures and information.
"What did you find?" asked Bruce as everyone approached the Batcomputer
"Well, the man in the picture with (Name) and their mother is (F/N) (L/N)" Barbara began to say "He studied journalism at Gotham University and he was married for 2 years to (M/N) (L/N) and gave his last name to (Name)"
"He died in an explosion caused by the Joker when (Name) was 4 years old, the same age they were when they came to the mansion" finished explaining Steph
Bruce already knew where he knew that man from. He had interviewed him several years ago. He was a very intelligent man and clever with words at that time which bothered him a little. From that interview onwards, the only one allowed to interview him was Clark or Lois, no one else could interview him.
But maybe if he had allowed (F/N) to keep interviewing him, maybe he would have known about his child's existence much sooner and maybe he wouldn't have made so many mistakes with you.
Just MAYBE…
"But isn't (Name) your child?" Dick asked Bruce confused
"Yes, they are" Duke said and everyone turned to look at him so he could continue talking
"They told me, today in fact. They told me about their life before the mansion. They told me that their mother met their father- I mean, (F/N) one day when he came to interview you Bruce" the young man turned to look at them
"And that in fact they're studying journalism like him because they were always inspired by what he did. They have a great memory" he said at the end with a tone of pride knowing that his brother/sister had many gifts even if they didn't realize it
"And how do you know all that?" Damian asked
"I spent the day with them today and they told me about it" Duke said as if it was no big deal
"You... You talk to them?" Tim asked as if he was trying to understand
"Yeah. They helped me a lot when I moved here" he explained
"You said he was studying journalism?" Bruce interrupted
"Yes" Duke nodded
"So if we don't know where he lives we can find out where he studies. Barbara, look up the records of Gotham University on all the journalism students" Bruce asked
"I'm already on it" Barbara nodded and then started typing on the batcomputer
"So... you two are close?" Tim asked Duke surprisingly
"I'd like to think so" Duke laughed a little nervously
"And what do you normally do with them?" With that question everyone started to pay attention even if they didn't look at him
"Well... It depends..." he said "Now that they don't live here anymore we go out to eat and to the arcade and even to the park. We mostly talk but before they left we spent a lot of time in the library, that place was their favorite of the whole mansion because it's more illuminated there. We used to read or they would tell me about some book and even gossip about their friends. From time to time, when you were busy they would train with me or we would also play video games. They are very good with technology and science"
"Did they train with you? Are they also vigilantes like us?" Damian asked for the first time curious about you
"No they are not vigilantes like us" that calmed Bruce down "But they are good at self-defense. They know how to fight"
"But how? I never taught them" Bruce asked
"They are your children Bruce, they are just as good at analysis and observation" then he walked to another monitor and looked for something on the computer. It was a video of both of you training.
In the video you had a sly smile that no one else besides Duke and Alfred had seen on you. While you were dressed in sportswear and some bandages on your knuckles. Duke was just like you, both looking defiant but not intimidating.
"Ready to lose?" Duke told you
"You wish" you smiled with a sly smile
Then you both started to fight, Duke being the first to throw the first blow which you managed to dodge. You both fought for a long time, neither of you giving up easily. After several minutes you both ended up on the ground tired and sweaty.
"Tie?" You suggested, stretching your fist out towards him
"Tie" he nodded, bumping his fist into yours
"You're getting better" you congratulated him
"It's not that bad" Duke said, a little embarrassed with the compliment you gave him
"Of course it is" you patted him on the back "You're getting better pretty fast, I know you'll be able to face Grayson and Todd soon, and maybe one day you'll even be able to match or be better than Bruce"
"Thanks, (Name)" Duke smiled at you
"Don't mention it" you smiled back and stood up
"Shall we take a break?" you offered him a hand to get him up
"Sure" Duke took your hand and stood up
And that was the end of the video Duke was showing them.
"Yeah, they're good training partners," Duke said with a smile.
"I found something," Barbara said, cutting off the tense moment.
Everyone focused on the screen Barbara was working on, looking at a picture of you on the screen and next to it your college information.
"(Name) (L/N), third semester journalism student at Gotham University," Barbara read.
"(L/N)?" Bruce asked.
"Yeah, apparently when they turned 18 they changed their last name," Barbara nodded.
He didn't know anything about you, but he was sure of one thing and that was that he had given you his last name.
You weren't a (L/N)
You were a WAYNE
But don't worry, that would soon be fixed.
"But that's not the important thing," Jason said. "Where do they live?"
"They live in an apartment complex near the university" Barbara said
"Send me the address alone" Bruce ordered
"Bruce! / Father! / B!" everyone started to complain but Bruce silenced them with a look
"Don't even start" he warned them "I'm more than sure that if any of you have this information, they will immediately go looking for you but, we must avoid howling at them because they will most likely be furious with all of us"
Everyone looked at the ground at his words, all of them feeling a little bad.
"So let's wait a bit to face them. Now, everyone goes to rest, it's been a tiring day"
Reluctantly, everyone went to rest while the only ones left downstairs were Bruce and Barbara.
"Don't give them the information. It's an order" Bruce told Barbara
"Understood" she nodded
"Okay, now go rest" he said so the girl could go rest too
Then he turned to look at the big screen where your picture was.
You looked so much like your mother and seeing it from that point of view, he was happy, he already had enough with having Damian, who was already very similar to him. He couldn't wait to meet you again after 15 years.
Well as they say, better late than never, right?
