listen to me. in world based on restorative justice, some people will never get the punishment they "deserve" and you need to accept that. retribution is entirely immaterial to what our concern should be, which is solving the problem they've created. you can put a rapist in the shittiest prison you can find where they'll be anally violated for the next hundred years and that won't mean shit if you don't let their victim get an abortion.
