imagine influencer!y/n with chronically offline!kento
ever since kento came out of his emo phase, he doesn't visit social media often. so when you had gained interest in him after seeing him in your workplace, you tried stalking him. but all you could see was pictures of his high school years, his face barely in it. social media was a no go, so you had to talk to him to figure him out. and truly, that was the best part.
you were always questioning whether he liked something or not. he was a complete blank slate, and you were too. even though you were quite active on social media, gaining a few thousand followers by that time, he never bothered to check it, it just wasn't his style.
when you eventually started dating and soft launching him, everyone was asking who this mystery man was. but his identity was always kept a secret as he wasn't someone who often used social media, you thought it'd be uncomfortable. eventually when you hit the 1 year mark, he finally brought up the question.
"y/n, i don't mean to offend you in any way shape or form. this is more towards curiosity..." his steps slowing down, his hesitation affecting not only his speech but his movement.
"continue?" you looked through the photos kento had taken of you, scrolling and picking out the best ones. you had gone to a beautiful restaurant, and since you got all cleaned up, you had to ask kento to take a picture of you.
"why do you take photos and videos so much? i mean, i do understand it's a hobby for almost everyone, but i do think you spend a tad bit too much time on something that isn't a job," he was curious, trying his best to formulate words that would least offend you.
"what do you mean? it is my job! i'm an part time influencer," you immediately showed him your social media accounts leaving kento in awe.
"oh...i did not...know," he was shocked, to say the least. his mouth was wide open as he scrolled and looked at all your social media accounts. he didn't use social media often, but it wasn't like he was clueless of how it worked! you were popular, most of your social media accounts had a following over 500k, instagram being the least and youtube being the highest.
"i did not know i was dating someone popular...." kento still couldn't wrap his head around this fact.
"did you not know? at all?" you asked.
"no...0%," kento answered, still unable to look away from your phone screen. the fact that he didn't find out over this past year was even more shocking. you've asked him for help in recording so many videos, the fact he didn't even suspect it was mind boggling to you. "is this where you've been posting the pics of us?"
"yeah, i mean none of them have your face, i can take it down if you're uncomfortable..."
"no, i like it."
you never hard launched kento, it was like a public secret. everyone knew you were taken by this mystery blonde man, but they never knew who. it was nice to see the comments theorise on which blonde influencer was your man, but they were severely mistaken. your man doesn't even use social media! his instagram still having no bio and just one post of him and haibara.
not hard launching did not mean you had no announcements. when kento proposed to you a year later, your fans got the news too, as they saw a new flashy ring on your ring finger in your newest day in a life vlog. since his presence, your fans have made a name for him, sir purin, taken from his blonde hair, the only feature you could attribute him to, matching with the sanrio character pompompurin.
when you finally got married, that was when you had finally hard launched kento. a simple picture of you and kento on your wedding reception, dancing as if you were the only people in the whole world. you had tagged kento's instagram account, though his @ couldn't be seen, your fans could find his account easily. after all, he changed his user to @misterpurin so you could tag him.
this account was barely used, only there to repost stories he's tagged in and mainly to post you once in a while. every birthday and anniversary he would always upload a picture of you, with an essay along with it. his account started getting filled with pictures of you, it was like a fan account of you! with the exception of a few pictures of you together and of course, his high school friend haibara.
in that account, it had stored memories of you in his eyes. it was sweet, anyone could tell that every single picture captured and posted was done with utmost love and care. he posted for him, not for your fans, or for his. this slowly lead to kento making a camera account, only followed by you. and even there, almost every single picture had a part of you in it, whether it was your head peaking in the side of a beautiful sunset, or your hair flowing in the wind obstructing the eye-catching view, or just a plain picture of you. every single picture had a speck of you, and if not, his captions would.
this account did end up being found, which led to kento privating the camera account, but it was too late as a few thousand of your followers had already followed it. kento never posted often, but when he did, your presence would always be prevalent no matter what.
p.s this was supposed to be a short drabble, like 3 paragraphs max...but i got carried away. it was only supposed to be kento's insta becoming your fan account.

Umbrella
info : past arc gojo x baker reader, (reader is not a sorcerer, but gojo is), tiny angst to fluff, reader is a sweetheart (i love u), gojo and reader meet, comfort
suki's notes : this takes place right after geto goes cray-cray. this is also my first tumblr post- pls bear with me. this story will most likely have multiple parts and will eventually become present into the jjk world (season 1). hope you all enjoy! idek if anyone is even going to see this
THIS POST IS UNEDITED
spoilers if you haven't watched s2 of jjk- the hidden inventory arc
I do a recap in the beginning- SOOOOO
if u haven't watched season 2 yet- SKIP AHEAD
but if u know what happens and ur too impatient skip ahead ;-;
~~~
"The umbrella symbolizes the canopy of the heavens, shelter, and protection. The parasol is a symbol of the SUN, and an umbrella is a symbol of the shade. It is often an emblem of power and dignity."
___
Defeated. Gojo Satoru, the strongest sorcerer, the most powerful man in the modern world, felt defeated. how exactly?
Gojo had a mission to escort a girl named Riko Amanai alongside with his best friend, Geto Suguru.
Geto and Gojo were the strongest.
Riko was going to be sacrificed to a powerful being named Tengen to renew their existence for a period of time to protect the safety of sorcerers and their whereabouts.
But, the mission failed. Just when Riko realized she finally wanted to live for herself. She got shot in the head by a man named Toji, an assassin, who goes by many names but it mainly known for being the "killer of sorcerers".
Gojo avenged Riko's death by killing Toji.
And with that, Gojo became the strongest.
Finally learning how to control his power, and harnessing it to the fullest. He went on solo missions- orders given by his teacher, leaving his best friend behind.
But, little did Gojo know, his best friend lost his way, but at the same time, found his way. Found how he wanted to live his life.
Sorcerers kills curses, they protect non-sorcerers. Geto witnessed the ugliness of the weak, aka non-sorceres, when cultists wanted Riko dead, and they got what they wanted. Geto's other friend, a first year, named Yu Haibara, died during a mission with another first year by his side, Kento Nanami, who survived.
Riko's death, Yu's death, a conversation with a girl in the middle of his mourning- all changed Geto's ideals.
Geto massacred a whole village including his parents. His dream is to now eliminate all non sorcerers. He was expelled from jujutsu high with an execution on his head.
And, it was up to Gojo to kill him. But, he couldn't. Even when he had the chance, even when Geto turned his back on Gojo. He did nothing.
He couldn't kill his best friend. The only one he's ever had.
Riko's death, Yu's death, Geto leaving.
___ end of recap
All light was sucked out of Gojo's world. An endless void of despair and defeat, crushed his soul.
He questioned his strength, his very own being, everything.
He let his feet drag him to wherever. He walked and walked, and soon found himself somewhere in the city. Collapsing on the wet pavement of stairs, as his phone vibrated.
Dragging it out of his pocket and flipping it open to answer the call.
"Gojo.. where are you?" It was another friend of Gojos, her name was Shoko Ieiri, she was also good friends with Yu and Geto.
"I'm on a mission Yaga sent me on," he lied.
"How humorous. I asked Yaga and he said he hasn't sent you on a mission yet."
Gojo scoffed and threw his head back with his eyes shut, he simply just let the raindrops fall onto his face. He didn't even have the energy to activate his infinity to stop him from getting wet.
"Yeah.. well. I'm on a mission of my own. I want to be alone right now." He said, Shoko let out a big sigh.
"Gojo, come back- if you don't. I will find you-"
"Yeah.. well. Good luck with that."
He shut his phone, hanging up the call with his brunette friend. He shoved the electronic back in his pocket while the rain pattered on his body. It didn't hurt. It was calming, but also very lonely.
Anger filled his body, as he drowned himself more and more into his emotions, thoughts, and what he was going through. He hated being vulnerable. If he was blessed with these powers. Why... couldn't he save the one's closest to him?
"GODAMMIT!" Gojo screamed to the sky, "if I really am worth something, if I really am worth being here, send me a sign, a blessing!! Whatever!" He yelled, then his head dropped. His icy blue irises staring nothing into the ground as raindrops hit the cement.
"I... have nothing to lose." His voice came out as a whisper, despite screaming on the top of his lungs a few seconds ago.
He decided to give heaven a chance. He waited... and waited.. nothing. More rain on an empty street.
Until it all stopped. He heard the rain, but no longer felt it. Assuming it was Shoko, he sighed out.
"Wow. Found me already, Shoko? I'm impressed," he said then finally gained the strength to look over his shoulder, his heart jumped.
You.
Your hair starting to get damp from the rain, your e/c (eye color) orbs staring back at him with all your beautiful features. You were mesmerizing, hugging a dessert bag to your chest to stop the rain from soaking it, while you let your purse dangle loosely by your side.
He swallowed the lump in his throat.
"Uh-"
"Hi," you simply said with a smile, "I'm sorry I'm not this 'Shoko' you're talking about," you said with a small giggle, "but, you're getting wet, so here's my umbrella," your voice was soft, enchanting, music to his ears.
"Thanks." He said, as you held your umbrella out. But, he never took it from your grasp. It was big enough to cover you and him, so you placed it in between you two.
"Are you alright?" You asked, as you took a seat right next to him.
"Yeah.. why?" Is all he could force himself to say while staring back at you.
"Well, I mean.." you said looking around at the fast rain hitting every surface in your view before focusing your attention back on him, "you're sitting out here all by yourself. In the rain... in the cold... by yourself?"
He finally mustered up the courage to clear his throat and say, "I'm not exactly in my best moment right now."
You did nothing but smile, "understandable. But, you shouldn't be neglecting your needs. You could catch a cold."
He sighed, a non sorcerer talking about "needs".
"Yeah. Well. What exactly do I need right now?" He snapped, then sighed, "I have nothing to lose." It was silent, barely a whisper. But, you heard it, and did nothing but blink.
Then suddenly. You smiled and held out the umbrella.
"You need an umbrella."
Gojo : (ಠ_ಠ)
You giggled at his reaction.
"And, maybe... you need to find your way again," you said, making his eyes widened.
"Everything about you is bright. From your hair, your eyes, your skin," you pointed at each feature of his as you said it, then you dropped your arm to your side. "You glow on a dark cloudy-rainy evening like this, but you have this sad feeling to you."
He turned his head to stare at his feet.
"Whatever you're going through. I hope you get through it. With all the umbrellas you need!" You said, throwing your arms out. Then you smiled, "my grandma once told me, 'it's okay to lose your way, it's okay to be stuck once in a while. But, it's not okay to stay stuck in the same miserable spot.'"
Then you stood up, "you gotta pick yourself up! Because no one will," you stated, he nodded. He knows.
"And, life won't wait for you, it's just gonna keep going and going," you said and handed him the dessert bag you kept dry, "this has some kikufuku, castella, and a cake roll, if something makes everyone feel better- it's food! Especially sweets." You said with a small 'yum'.
He stared at you.
Then you smiled sheepishly, "it's been a couple hours since they were made- it's usually better fresh, but I hope you enjoy them either way!" You smiled, then waved goodbye at him.
"Goodbye stranger! Until we meet again," you said, turning around and walking away. Then suddenly, you jumped and turned around once again, "I forgot to say- you have really pretty eyes!" You yelled, then giggled, "bye now!"
He watched your figure turn the corner and disappear, but he continued to stare at nothing.
Speechless. He was speechless.
What just happened.
He's a stranger to you, you're a stranger to him, yet you gave him life advice, your umbrella, desserts, a compliment, and comfort- in less than 10 minutes.
Everything resumed, as he finally took in what happened. Not that he needed to, but he cursed at himself for not thanking you at the least.
Gojo hopes he can meet you again. Then he glanced at the shop name on the dessert bag, a small smile plastered his face. He knows how.
With the umbrella still in his hand, he picked himself up off the of ground with the dessert bag hanging around his wrist and began to make his way back to jujutsu high. Thoughts lingered his head. You roamed his mind even after he made it back, even when he was laying in bed at night.
The umbrella that you gave him was in the corner of his room, the moonlight peeking through his window dimly shining on it.
He asked for a blessing..
And there, you came.
end ~
Time for the next smol child on the chopping block: Conan!
Obviously, this design was based on the outfit he wore on the cover on volume 1
Just made some tiny adjustments. First, he has his iconic red bowtie. Second, his buckle is a little bit different. This is because it's supposed to act like his inflatable ball belt in canon and by some extent, the real world. (However, in the AU, he goes to Lyoko before he even shrinks. When Agasa gets around to designing his gadgets, Conan just casually gives examples from his Lyoko Form as ideas).
Also, yeah, Conan's got a weapon! A giant spiky soccer ball which he can kick with the same force that he can kick balls with his superpowered sneakers in the real world. Sometimes, he even kicks Megatanks :D! Doesn't do well for his foot, but it works.
Despite Conan being the Jeremie Surrogate of Code Meitantei's Lyoko Warriors (A character who is infamous for having a lyoko form that is never seen to the audience and only goes to Lyoko 3-4 times over the course of the og cartoon), Conan actually goes to Lyoko much more frequently than most other characters.
Why is that? Well, a major player in that is his ability: Analysis!
(click the read more if you want to read the rest of this post)
For people who can't read my shit mouse writing on the design document, it's essentially if Conan had an internal 'Fetch Data' button as a power. When he willingly activates it, he gets a ton of information. Including - The code of any digital entity/object that Conan is looking at (LW, Monsters, Sector Terrain, Overvehicles, Towers, etc.) Essentially, anything that isn't the Digital Sea, he can parse it's code.
-A minimap of his surroundings, acting kind of a localized virtual map from the sc's interface
-The DNA of every human-based entity loaded into Lyoko. He gets his own DNA instantly, but he has to dig for his fellow Lyoko Warriors's DNA (made harder if they are out of his line of sight). However, to find anyone else's DNA (or DNA that's purposefully ofuscated and corrupted, like Haibara's early on), it could take him literally days on Lyoko to find.
-Lifepoints. He gets his lifepoints instantly, gets the lifepoints of his fellow LW and any materialized Overvehicles if he parses through enough data (again, made hard if he cannot see them), and can get monsters' lifepoints if he digs for them.
The main downside of the power is that it takes him a long ass time to find any useful information that isn't his own data, hence he likes to just stick to the real world during XANA attacks, where he can get all of the information quickly without the hassle.
However, it thrives mainly in another kind of mission that they go on just as much as XANA attack missions in this au: Recon and Data Collecting.
Usually, it'll be just him and Haibara, sometimes with another LW, collecting data from Lyoko and XANA's monsters so that Conan can make programs more efficiently. This becomes even more apparent when they discover Sector 5, and this is how Conan is able to keep pace with Jeremie in canon, despite not even being remotely a computer geek.
He just kind of treats computer programming as detective work and deductive reasoning with Analysis. Grabbing certain pieces of code from his Analysis, changing them, and shifting them around to fit a giant ass puzzle he calls a program. Which he then combines with his prior knowledge of programming to complete said puzzle.
To quote the man himself, "It's addicting!"
#code lyoko#dcmk#detective conan#code meitantei#art#fanart#long ass wall of text i'm sorry#just got much more thoughts for his powers due to them being completely new#instead of just being slightly altered variations of preexisting lyoko powers
Love how many of the JJK characters are already queer in the post-timeskip
Since we have… Yuta and Rika (Lesbians)
Miwa and Mechamaru (T4T)
Kinji and Kirara (okay Kirara is probably some flavor of queer in canon but still enby4enby)
Also shoutout to Ilia with his funky gender!
Let's keep going, Happy Pride Month! (you have any other folks/HCs?)
I have a lot, but I'll keep it to JJK characters for now.
Gay Megumi
Aromantic Maki
Lesbian Nobara? Maybe?
Aroace Yuji? No labels Yuji? He appreciates people's inner beauty but also isn't opposed to looking at what he sees as a pretty woman. Demisexual aromantic straight? Or maybe more like Aegosexual homoromantic? Some kind of gray-asexual at the very least, and either homoromantic, aromantic, or demiromantic, but very much needs time to form a romantic bond.
Aroace Kento
Lesbian Utahime
Toge is SOMETHING. What? I don't know yet lol. Possibly gay
Gay Satoru. He/him nonbinary with sky/blue pronouns
Either gay or bi Suguru. Leaning towards bi. He's also he/him enby
Aroace agender Shoko
Transman bisexual Haibara
I think I got an ask about Todo being a gnc cisgender guy and I like that (him dressing in drag in his free time seems like something he would do, it would also be neat for Kento to introduce Dodo to Todo since Dodo also does drag)
Nonbinary Uraume
Genderfluid Takaba
Noritoshi, like Toge, is something, but I don't know what. Might go with aromantic, asexual, or aroace
I don't mind trans Yuki, but honestly her and Choso being cishet together is something I like a lot
Choso, Eso, and Kechizu (along with any other death paintings if they were reborn) probably have some identity issues that would translate to their gender because of their memories from their vessels mixing in with the nature of their own consciousnesses
OH! Actually, with that! I think I'd like Yuki to be a detransitioned cis woman (so she thought she was a transman/transmasc for a bit of her life but then realized she was a woman). She helps Choso find out who he is as him and not just as a curse/entity, human, vessel!
Aroace Sukuna maybe? Like high libido but just does things for the pleasure of physicality rather than a drive he has
Curses don't really have sexualities/genders that can be easily translated to human society, similar for how Trolls can't really be "queer" in a human lens as they have their own societal structure on gender and romance.
That being said:
She/Her Hanami, no gender or sexuality (anything is a go for her but she wouldn't use the pan or bi or omni labels, or any gender labels. She's fine with anything and is very passive on her self image)
He/Him Jogo, possibly gay, possibly aroace and just wants connections with people without realizing it (kinda the same idea of how Eve needs others to make herself feel complete, so perhaps Jogo is like her and also demisexual/demiromantic)
Mainly he/him Mahito, but honestly I can see him using any pronouns (especially any of my human Mahitos who are usually genderfluid. Even if curse/entity Mahito just uses he/him, I can still see him being genderfluid in a sense of physically changing his form to whatever he likes including a feminine and androgynous form)
They/Them Dagon. No thoughts, head empty when it comes to gender or sexuality. It's not really something they dwell on at all. Closest thing would probably be agender?
He/Him Kurourushi. Transmasc aroace lesbian or sapphic? (made an art of curse Kurourushi and Smallpox Deity and someone tagged it as wlw and that shit hit me hard! So Kurourushi is definitely transmasc, but might identify genderwise as still a woman or at least nonbinary). [This also goes for my human versions]
She/Her Smallpox Deity. Acoace lesbian, Cisgender
He/him, maybe also they/them Ko-guy. Transmasc/transman
Rainbow Dragon is something. At least their human version is. They/them for them, but not sure about anything else, or if their curse version is anything. I need to revive them as a curse/entity in the Eriverse lol
Don't know about the Roppongi curse, but they have something going on with the Mannequin, but it's not FWB or something like that. Possibly a QPR? Also I think he/they for Roppongi curse (which I still need to make a name for them)
They/Them Mannequin Curse. Acts like a knight in shining armor for Roppongi curse. Will throw their life away for him. I think it's kinda like how Pearl is with Rose Quartz, but also not exactly that way. Very much a lot of love there but not in a romantic or sexual way. Possibly aroace, at the very least aromantic.
Kenjaku identifies as a cisgender man, he/him. However, when he is in a female body then technically he could be seen as transgender. He will play the part of a woman based on society's expectation in order to fit in to get what he wants, but he still always identitfies and believes he is still a cisgender man. His sexuality though is probably all over the place or demisexual where he needs to get attached to the person himself (with some exceptions he's had in his life). Otherwise he is just following the instincts of his body if he gets bored enough and wants to have fun.
I think Miguel Oduol and Larue have explored each other at some point? But like just to see what it was like? Otherwise I see those two are cishet.
Manami is bisexual but really has only dated men. Usually just has fantasies about women but never really acts on it, not because of society or something, but because she hasn't had a chance really
Toshihisa Negi. I almost forgot about this guy from Suguru's group, but his design looks really cool/fun and I can see him being queer. Perhaps he is bisexual as well or gay.
Alright, that's all I have for right now. I probably missed a major one somewhere (had to go back and write for Yuji and Nobara because I forgot those two lol). But yea, this is what I got at least for the JJK cast! Both can be applied to Eriverse and JJKverse (and some for my Swap JJK AU as well lol).
are you aware of what will happen in the movie 26? according to the alleged kiss between Conan and Ai?
Hello Anon,
I have been on hiatus for a while and decided to check tumblr today only to see this ask and other posts about it on my timeline (must be fate!)
To be honest I am indifferent. I mainly focus on shinran content and that is why keeping up with the story since the crimson arc has been challenging but Im patiently awaiting our new arc 💕
I was not interested in M26 for the same reason (not a big fan of the BO plot) but I’m curious now and if anything,I know it won’t be coming from Conan 😁 and to be honest my heart tells me we will get shinran content soon enough after this. Besides, every movie I watched had a shinran reference so I am looking forward to see what that will be in M26 🥰
Lastly, nothing but love to Haibara and CoAi fans 🙏🏻💕
#I am yet to see M25 but I plan to soon#focusing on what I love 💕#I will try to catch up with the series soon so if there is any shinran moments expect more content 😌✨💕
This is for a friend, a sample of my rp. Please don't interact with this post, whomever may view this.
Inside the room was one bed. There was supposed to be two one on each end of the room. However, the extra bed was removed when Geto requested no room mates. The lower grade sorcerers had bunk beds and smaller square footage. Geto lucked out, given his rank. He not only had a room with a small patio, but the room was spacious. It was enough to fit a handful of people and still leave space to walk.
He scooped up Mimiko and places her on his mattress, gently tucking her in.
"You're turn Nanako," he whispers, still assertive but warm.
Nanako was proud. She didn't fall asleep on the way like her sister, and she didn't need someone to carry her to bed. Gleefully, she climbs up and throws herself on her side of the bed. "See!" She exclaims with uncesesay confidence. "I walked all by myself. I am strong. Mimiko didn't."
Geto takes the sheets and places them over the children's shoulders. "I see. Yes. You are strong. Mimiko is strong too in her own important way. We are all good at different things."
Geto knew all to well how comparing one's self to others can destroy someone's self esteem. One day she is going to meet someone stronger than her and it's important that she is prepared for that. And if she, by an off chance, is the strongest in her group- Nanako will have to understand the strength of those around her. Arrogance will push people away from her, and she'll be alone.
Geto quickly rubs the top of her head, "Good night Nanako."
Her head smooshes into her pillow when her head is rubbed. She growled in defiance but was to tired to do, or say much else.
It was late, and the evening was long. Normally Geto would shower before bed to keep dirt out of his sheets. Thankfully, it was a sleeping bag, and the thought of a shower felt cumbersome.
"I'm not surprised given your upbringing," answers Geto, crawling his way into his sleeping bag. "It's no different than sleeping next to some friends." He inches deeper into his sleeping bag, his eyes and top knot peeking out the blanket. "It's late, Satoru. You should get some rest." He looks at Satoru, making sure his frosty-haired, crystal-eyed best friend was the last thing he saw before closing his eyes. He would rather see his other half, than the empty room that awaited him all this time. Perhaps, maybe, he could finally have a peaceful night.
It feels nice actually, like a family all huddled together in a bedroom the way he's seen in movies growing up. A warm feeling comes from his chest. Even if Nanako had a hard time trusting them and a relief that Mimiko did, Satoru still feels a sort of relief in him. Maybe they all really good be a family or maybe this was a step in the right direction for family healing the two of them.
After all, movies always say family was there for each other. "Yeah, I feel tired driving for so long." Without thinking, he scoots himself just to be closer with Suguru, mainly because he had to curl up a bit so his tall body could fit well enough in the sleeping bag, where his bright eyes close. White eyelashes were all that could be seen now as Satoru finally found himself asleep, facing Suguru.
Funny how it was the same for him, how he felt like he could sleep in peace to have Suguru in front of him like this. It made the nightmares go away for tonight, and simply allowed him to dream like that of a normal person for once.
Suguru’s hopes went unanswered.
Three hours into the night, Suguru began his nightmares. Everything within the past year would meld into one another. The sight of Riko’s fresh blood splattered on the floor, her body limp by his feet. His hands now covered in blood from his failure to protect her. After he observed his palms and knuckles soaking in blood, he put his hands back down to only reveal Haibara. Haibara’s dead body was surrounded by a crowd who seemed to celebrate his death. The crowd’s roaring applause got louder and louder until it overwhelmed him. It was here Suguru would wake up.
And wake up he did.
Geto eyes snap open. His pupils shrunk to the size of a pea. He feels an ache on his left cheek and sharp burning pain on his chest. His pupils dart around the room. This wasn't the last place he laid his head to rest. He couldn't remember where he was suppose to be, he just knew it wasn't here. It had felt foreign to him. Like someone had kidnapped him and brought him here. Things that were familiar were unfamiliar. Memories of his life faded in and out, like layers of pictures transitioning from one photo to the next. Suguru, finally gaining the strength to move, quickly sits up. He finds Satoru next to him, making Suguru take a quick breath. He concludes that there must have been a fight strong enough to take Gojo down. Ignoring the perceived pain on his left cheek and chest, Geto gets up. He turns around to find two strange girls in a bed. Something was off. Everything began confusing him to no end. The inability to recollect was striking fear into him.
Those girls weren't Riko. Whomever Rico is. Unsure why he remembered some random girl. And somehow he felt that only one girl should be traveling with them, not two. All his knowledhe came form his intuition.
Could it be that Gojo and himwere assigned to protect more kids? Each mission more helpless than the last? Why would the higher ups be so cruel? Finding the answer to those questions would do nothing but become a waste of time **if**--people were in danger.
The longer he took time to observe his surroundings, the more he remembered. People became strangers that slowly molded and melded into something familiar, until ultimately the sudden wealth of information when remembering someone's face.
Geto slowly gets up, now having 75 percent of his reality returned to him. He came to a realization that he was having another PTSD attack. He couldn't process and ride out the rest of his episode without waking them up. Geto shuffles to his desk, looking for Haibara's key. He then shuffles again, this time towards the exit. He then does his best to shut the door behind him as softly as possible.
Geto swiftfully unlocks Haibara's door and walks in, and forgets to close the door behind him. Walking in Geto spots all the belongings he had yet to donate and give away. All of Haibara's books, pictures, clothes, even his sheets were still the way Haibara last left them. This all triggers the memories of Haibara's golden, pure, and sincere heart-- and Haibara's gory dead body in front him. The cold waft of embalming chemicals greeted Geto's senses once again. His hands, again dripping in wet cold blood, compelled Geto wash up in Haibara's bathroom. When he returns to the living room, the joyous crowd and its insistent applause arrive to haunt him once again. Geto places his hand on the wall as he looks on. His head looking at the floor, or more like, through the floor. His small pupils where watching something, a marathon only Geto could see. His pupils remained small, and the beads of sweat collecting on his forhead began to clump his hair. His breathing becomes unconsciously shallow from the overstimulation. The only thing keeping him standing the wall he rested on, as his knees were begginging to weaken.
It was nice for a change, being able to sleep without worrying about the past or who to protect while he sleeps. No dreams for Satoru, which was sadly a blessing for him as dreaming meant it was twisted memories of Riko's death and Toji killing him. He breathes softly through the night, looking at peace for once instead of always hiding behind a grin.
That is, he was sleeping when he stirred himself awake by Suguru's sudden jolt awake followed by the sounds of footsteps and the door. Did...something happen? Waking up, he looks over to see the girls okay and thankfully sound asleep. However, Suguru really was nowhere in sight. His heart starts to panic a little, thinking something happened as though someone broke the barrier again surrounding the academy.
That's precisely why he walks outside and was nearly ready to run down the hall when he spots Haibara's door open. Who was in his room? Feeling a pit fall into his stomach, he slowly makes his way to the doorway of what was once his friend's room where his hand grips at the doorway. Hell, he almost can't take a step in knowing he wouldn't hear that joyous greeting anymore, until he sees Suguru barely holding it together.
"Suguru!" Calling out his name, Satoru runs towards him, arms under him to help keep him upright. "What happened? Are you alright?" There was no need to really ask why he was in this room, it was clear as day why he was here. It's just that Suguru was braver to face the grief than Satoru was, just looking around the room making him feel sick with regret. Satoru never once hated himself, always arrogant in himself, but this? Not protecting the people he loved and cherished was something he felt he could easily hate himself for.
Someone had called his name, but it didnt register to Geto yet. Anyone calling him wasnt going to reach him during the throws of an episode. His mind was a wall keeping everything he was processing inside, and holding any stimuli rooted in reality- outide.
Geto didn't notice the shadowey figure approach him. He was about to land an elbow and side punch, but Geto stopped mere inches from chest and neck. It wasn't the infinity stopping him this time, but the mere scent of his best friend, whatever that meant. He knew at the moment who Gojo was suppose to be, but couldn't recall why Gojo had that title. Geto remained stiff while letting Gojo assist him. Everything happening around him like a mere movie. It felt like his experiences were that of someone else. If he remained still, hopefully things would start making sense soon.
After that he heard Gojo asking him What happened? and if he was alright, the meaning of who his best friend was, had quickly overwhelmed him. Someone so close, someone whom he loved deeply. Someone whom he shared his best memories with, from traveling together on missions, to riding a bike and filling the space between them with roaring laughter. Everything was coming together, and Gojo's engagement was grounding him. Gojo grounding Geto? That is a first. It was only a matter of time.
"Satoru,...." he whispers, his breath uneven against Gojo's skin. His gentle voice called for his comfort.
"I-I'm sorry....you had to see me-...see me like this." Geto finally drops his guard and leans onto Gojo's shoulder. He wraps his arms around Gojo's neck as Gojo's arms were already under him. Geto leans the embrace, letting Gojo carry some of his bodyweight.
"Riko,....Haibara....all of them. Why? This marathon of being a Jujutsu Sorcerer. All that's waiting is-....it's just piles of our comrades bodies." Geto gives his embrace a small squeeze, "Why is the world so, ugly. Why was Haibara-" a lump forms in his throat, and Geto was failing to push it away. "-Haibara taken from us. Riko and Haibara were innocent. All because we keep playing this never ending game with the curses non-sorcerers produce."
little concept idea for my previous post
" Na~na~mi~~ " Gojo sang, skipping after Nanami like a deranged clown, " You wound me ! " he said dramatically, placing both hands on his kouhai's shoulders, " Weren't we good friends in Jujutsu Tech ? "
Nanami sighed, the long suffering sigh of someone who'd been putting up with Gojo's insufferable behaviour for more years than they'd liked.
" Gojo, " Nanami began, " You annoyed me every single waking moment of my life in Jujutsu tech. "
" It's because I loved you ! " Gojo whined, trailing after him.
" And, you did something ... repulsive to me, " Nanami continued, deadpan, " Though I doubt you remember. " He added on, giving Gojo a look.
Gojo stared.
" Of course I do ! " He yelled, indignantly, attracting the gazes of some of the first years - mainly Fushiguro and Yuuji. Maki, Panda, and Inumaki ignored the scene, as if this were normal to them.
Knowing Gojo, it probably was.
" Sure you do, " Nanami said, deadpan, " Now if you excuse me, I'll be leaving first, I have things to do and places to be. "
Then, just as fast as he'd re entered Gojo's life, he left.
••
Gojo was a person who rarely thought and pondered deeply about things. He'd used to enjoy saying, " Leave the thinking to smart people ! Like our Nanamin here ~~ ", because it was funny. Nanami's annoyed face was a priceless sight.
" Oh god, " Gojo said, " Is that why he hated me ? "
" Sensei ? " Yuuji piped up, confused, looking up from his plate of steak - that sweet, sweet, boy, Megumi continued taking bites out of the garlic focaccia he'd ordered, while Nobara was busy with her risotto.
" My beloved kouhais, " Gojo exclaimed, dramatically, " I need your help ! "
" What. " Megumi said.
" It's about Nanami~~ " Gojo lamented, " He said I did something truly repulsive and horrible to him but I can't remember what I did that wounded him so deeply ! "
He was met with the sight of Nobara, Megumi, and Yuuji staring blankly at him.
Then, " Your existence is repulsive in itself, " and Yuuji was slapping a hand over the mouth that appeared on his cheek.
" Sorry, Gojo sensei, " he laughed nervously, " uh. Sukuna. He comes out on his own. You know, "
Gojo blinked.
" Maybe, " Nobara chimed in, thoughtfully, " You took something he liked ? People hate it when others take their things, like when someone, " she said, shooting a look at a thoughtful looking Gojo, " Took my skirt and pranced around with it, "
" Oh. " Gojo said, horrified, as realisation dawned on him, " so it was that. "
••
Nanami and Gojo had been in the second and third year of jujutsu high when the Incident™ had occured.
Gojo had been hungry. Nanami had happened to leave his casse croûte out in the open. Gojo had naturally, unwrapped the casse croûte and taken a bite ( a big one ) out of the sandwich, and when Nanami had found out, he'd gone absolutely berserk.
Gojo still held the memories of that day fondly in his heart. He remembered how Nanami had chased after him in the courtyard with his blunt sword, with Haibara and a very amused Getou trying to hold Nanami back, while said jujutsu sorcerer was screaming bloody murder at Gojo and threatening to exorcise him, since he was " clearly an annoying curse that needed to be exorcised " .
Of course, the next day, Nanami, gracious as ever, had bowed stiffly to apologise for his actions, and Gojo had apologised as well for eating his casse croûte and that had been that.
Or so Gojo thought. He had no idea that after what - 5 years ? Nanami still held a grudge over the casse croûte, but he supposed he did. After all, Nanami loved bread - especially the casse croûte and croquette bread in particular. Gojo remembered.
Which is why, on a fine Monday morning, he was at the bakery Nanami usually frequented at 8am - right after it'd opened, to buy him an apology casse croûte.
He could only pray Nanami would accept it. Maybe, Gojo thought, paying for the casse croûte, this would be a new start ? A fresh page to their blossoming romance !
There is another meeting I'm curious about, which is Mary and Haibara encounter, I'm really looking forward it too.. What do you expect upon this future meeting?? And what is your impression about it ?? And do you think that Mary and the whole Akai family accept Haibara in the end after the shrinking accident of Mary ??
Heyy soo sorry for replying late to this :(( I've been having exams and I wanted to do this post justice, soo I hope you like it💛...
Ok, so I’m also hella excited for when Haibara finally meets Mary. Mainly because up until now, I can’t really make up my mind on the dynamic Elena and Mary might have had. I have so many questions that I hope will finally be answered once they meet.
Let's start with Elena and Mary's relationship. So far I haven't gotten the impression that they were close at all. In fact, I don't think Mary and Elena introduced their families to one another. If they did, wouldn't Akemi have remembered having an aunt and cousins in England and she most probably would have told Shiho about them too? I mean when Haibara was first introduced, the Professor asked if she had any other family left and she said besides her sister there was no one else. Also, the fact that Akemi and Akai did not recognise each other, further strengthens my belief that both their families never met before.
This makes me wonder why that's the case. Maybe it was as simple as two sisters who drifted apart because they led different lives in different countries. But based on Rei's memories in the Bunny Girl Club case, before Elena convinced Atsushi to join the organisation, Mary seemed to have warned them about the organisation. This means the sisters were somehow still in each other's lives, so why don't their children know they’re related?
Did their relationship become strained way before Elena joined the organisation (for whatever reason that has not yet been revealed), or did they lose contact just after Elena joined the organisation for Mary's safety?... or were they never really that close to begin with? Also, Mary's reaction after finding out from Vermouth that Elena was the one who made the drug that shrunk her, was soooo underwhelming. It's like that piece of information didn't matter to her at all.
And while at first glance, Mary seems stoic and unemotional, she has shown that beneath that stern surface, she loves her family and is capable of being affectionate towards them. She even started crying when she realised her “husband” was actually Vermouth in disguise, and Tsutomu could be truly dead. Also, it wasn’t until Akai insisted on staying in the States to become an FBI agent when Mary decided she’ll start wearing the stoic, strict mask in place of their father. So, I'm really confused as to where Mary and Elena stand with each other.
To be honest, regardless of how close they were, I strongly believe Mary has no idea that she has a second niece. Elena died immediately after Shiho was born and presuming all contact between the sisters was cut when Elena joined the organisation, there’s no way Mary would have known anything about Shiho.
However when they meet, I think Mary will most likely recognise Haibara. Especially because Shiho looks a lot like Elena (even Rei attested to that when he met whom he thought was Shiho on the Bell Tree Train). But how will their meeting go down, it's hard for me to decide.
While I think Haibara might be happy to find out she still has a family, I don't think she'll be thrilled to find out it's the Akai family. Apart from Haneda Meijin, she basically hates Akai because she believes he's the reason Akemi died. And after Sera has come on too strong in the Lacquer Tray case, Haibara doesn't trust her either. On the other hand, I think all of Shiho's cousins will accept her. Akai already feels guilty and knows she was a victim in the syndicate, Shukichi and Haibara have always gotten along and I think even Sera will most likely end up forcing a friendship on Shiho😂.
As for Mary, well...I think it'll be a very tense first meeting. My gut is telling me she won't trust her from the get-go. Mary doesn't really trust anyone...it took her so long to trust Conan and doubted if he was the same boy they met at the beach 10 years ago. However, because Shiho is her only way for an antidote, I think Mary will probably force herself to trust her. But, if Mary and Elena never had a strained relationship and it was just because of the organisation that they lost contact, I think Mary will definitely welcome Shiho into the family.
Rum Arc Discussion Series: Higashio Maria
Higashio Maria is a kansai transfer student in Teitan Elementary that was introduced during Kir arc (File 548-549), and was recently reintroduced in Rum arc (File 1006-1008). I will be discussing this suspicion, that I’ve held since her reintro, about how she could be Asaka. Previous Discussion Topic (Iori Muga):
https://masterdetectivexx.tumblr.com/post/157524917964/rum-arc-discussion-thread-plot-characters
Asaka’s disappearance
Asaka’s disappearance is very suspicious, since she was last seen with Amanda, who was killed later that day, and was perceived as her bodyguard. Rum was able to successfully kill Amanda with the APTX4869 prototype drug (made by the Miyano parents) and cover it up as if nothing happened, according to the Black Organization’s M.O (as seen with how clean and tidy her room looked 17 years ago, in contrast to Kohji’s messy room, File 948). Despite being a female figure guarding Amanda the last time she was seen, Asaka was somehow still missing from the crime scene and not found dead along with Amanda (after failing to hinder Rum’s plans). As I’ve suggested in previous discussions, Asaka’s disappearance could be because she was drugged by Rum along with Amanda 17 years ago, but instead of dying, she actually shrank like Conan and fled (which would explain why she is missing). “Asaka taking the same drug as him” was a possibility that Conan also considered during his first speculation of Asaka’s identity (File 953), so there’s a good chance that Gosho was foreshadowing what had happened to Asaka.
In File 948, Haibara explained that she tried to recreate her parents’ APTX4869 with their remaining data (even though the BO wanted her to make something else that wasn’t a poison), meaning that her APTX4869 prototype, which shrinks as a side effect, originated from her parents’ APTX4869 model.
In File 1025, Gosho further clarifies Haibara’s statement by having her directly monologue that her parents created the same drug that shrank her and Shinichi, meaning that according to her, the shrinking side effect definitely originated from her parents’ APTX4869 prototype.
This information further underlines the possibility that the 17-year-old prototype could also shrink people as a side-effect in rare occasions, which in turn could easily explain how Asaka was able to disappear from the crime scene despite being in a position that should have made her someone Rum got rid of in the process of successfully killing Amanda.
Foreshadowing to Asaka’s identity
What we know about Asaka is very limited, but the info that we do have suggest a connection between Asaka and Kohji. In File 948, when Conan read about the hand-mirror, Haibara explained that it was a popular hand-mirror and that her sister had one of them which she inherited from their mother, and later suggested that Kohji might’ve inherited the hand-mirror from his mother as well. However, we later find out in file 953 that Asaka was seen holding that same hand-mirror. This immediately suggest that the hand-mirror was passed on from Asaka to Kohji, implying that they were familiar with each other to that extent. If you take Haibara’s correlation to Kohji about “sister inheriting mirror from mother”, it’s possible that Gosho was using Haibara’s story to foreshadow that just like Haibara’s sister, Asaka inherited the hand-mirror from her mother.
In other words, Kohji borrowed Asaka’s hand-mirror in order to prepare for his meeting with Amanda, and Asaka later leaves with Amanda to act as her bodyguard. Going back to Conan’s first suspicion of Asaka, he suspected that Asaka took the same drug as him and that Mary would be the prime suspect. This is something Conan also did in regards to Rum’s identity, where according to his first suspicion, Yamato Kansuke came the closest to the descriptions of Rum (File 913).
Iori Muga, who I deduced could be Rum, fits with Kansuke’s characteristics. They are both considered effeminate men (both have long curly dark hair), a strong build, Kansuke’s left eye is damaged while Rum’s left eye is foreshadowed to be a prosthetic (Higo plushie “left eye coming off” reference, File 999) and Muga’s left lense consistently reflected like Rumi’s suspected blind right side (File 981-982), and if Muga is hiding 5 years from his age like Satami Saya (File 920), then he would be the same age as Kansuke. If Kansuke is a Rum model that shares direct similarities to Rum, then the likelihood that Mary was utilized as an Asaka model is very high.
The one who shares the most characteristical similarities with Mary, and thus could be Asaka, is the latest transfer student Higashio Maria. Mary and Maria have pretty much the same name. “Maria” is the latin form of “Mary”. Gosho even went as far as to have Ogura mistake Mary’s name for “Mari-chan” (File 928-930), which could have been intentional on his part in order to emphasize the similarity to “Maria-chan”.
Both Mary and Maria are also light-haired kids and are hinted at being half-japanese. Mary’s sister Elena is confirmed to be half-japanese (File 1011), and Maria has the english influence, to the point that her grandma called the toy “bird-chan” (File 1007).
Asaka was also compared to Ran (File 954), which also could be Gosho’s hint to that Asaka is in reality a normal 17-year-old girl who was mistaken as a “personal SP”/official bodyguard for Amanda, due to her skills. If Maria is shrunken adult Asaka, then the comparison to Ran would make sense too, since she has a sweet personality like her that is very subverted from everyone’s expectations of “the bodyguard Asaka”/“a weird person”(as Ran put it), despite her similar qualities.
In other words, 17-year-old Maria came along with Haneda Kohji to the US in order to watch him play in the chess tournament. Her black hair colour in the Asaka photo would be as a result of her dying her hair black, like how Gosho seeded that concept in with Takashi during department store case (File 941).
And after she got drugged by Rum and shrank, she changed her one-tail hairstyle (as seen in the photo) to her current twin-tail hair style, just like how that concept was seeded in with Isuzu from secret cafe case (File 994), in order to not get easily recognized.
If Maria shrank as Asaka 17 years ago, then the true purpose it would have would mainly be to answer the question regarding Conan’s and Haibara’s aging state, and that answer would be that they can’t age like Vermouth, since Maria is still a 7-year-old, because, as mentioned above, the drug they were affected by is a recreated version of the one Asaka would have been drugged by (and is very likely to have the same effect). If Maria has been a child for 17 years then her parents would be much older and the parents that she is currently said to have (File 1006) would have to be fake/stand-in parents.
Going back to the idea that Asaka inherited the hand-mirror from her mother, there’s another detail about Maria that fits with this interpretation. In File 1006, Maria’s grandma gave her the advice “it’s important for a girl to watch over her appearance”, which is very consistent with someone who would pass down a hand-mirror. This could be a small clue to that Maria’s grandma is actually her mother. In other words, those cherished memories in her reintro case was actually her with her real parents.
Wakasa Rumi’s True identity (Link to summary)
Wakasa Rumi’s target
Gosho has a tendency to foreshadow the introduction of new plot elements by hinting at it just before it happens. in this case, just before Higashio Maria was reintroduced, the previous chapter had a cliffhanger with Wakasa Rumi staring at the APTX4869 victim list (File 1005).
This could be Gosho’s introduction foreshadowing to that Higashio Maria is that very target Rumi is after, Asaka (who potentially got drugged 17 years ago). In fact, both of Maria’s reappearances in Rum arc consistently followed Rumi’s appearance, as if she could be tied with her in the ongoing plot (File 966 & 1006).
Following my deduction regarding Rumi’s identity being Vermouth, this would automatically fill in the holes regarding Rumi’s APTX victim interest, since Vermouth has personal motivations for keeping the shrinking effect hidden. If the BO dismissed Asaka as dead, despite her missing corpse, someone like Vermouth, who knows about the shrinking effect’s existence would suspect that Asaka is alive. Rumi’s goal in Teitan Elementary could therefore be to not only investigate Haibara’s neighbor in the Kudo mansion (Subaru), but also investigate Asaka’s disappearance. Her disguising as a potential Asaka, carrying Kohji-case-related objects and using a dying-message-derived name (“wACASA RUMi”) could be a grand scheme in order to use Conan’s help in locating Asaka, who ends up being the newest transfer student in class 1B after Haibara.
Maria’s Personality
Maria’s personality is very child-like and innocent, and ever since her intro in File 548, she never showed any signs of having an adult mind (more than likely because even if she happens to be Asaka, she was probably not initially conceived as another APTX victim). How Gosho could handle such a plot move, where a seemingly normal older character enters the plot, is maybe by playing the amnesia card, meaning that Maria suffered memory loss as a result of a post-traumatic stress from the Kohji case. In which case, Maria-chan may have lived those 17 years with her “grandparents” in the Kansai area as if she was a “normal” child.
Summary: - Asaka was drugged by Rum along with Amanda 17 years ago, but shrank and fled. - Asaka lent her hand-mirror to Haneda Kohji, which she might’ve inherited from her mother. - Asaka could be Higashio Maria. - Wakasa Rumi is Vermouth in disguise and is investigating Asaka’s potential shrinking.
I have seen that you reblog quite a lot of avengers stuff, so, do you mind me asking, how do you think a dcmk avengers au would go? who would be who?
This is a very hard yet incredibly interesting question!!!! Thanks for ruining me as I figure out how to answer it!!!!
I’m, of course, kidding.
It was hard, though. And I haven’t managed to come up with a character for each. You see, they’re vastly different stories, and the character are immensely different. That being said, I found some similarities.
Very few characters, I found, have only one other character that they’re similar to. Most of them are a combination of two or more.
The most obvious one, to me, is Shinichi - Cap. They’re both super concerned with justice, and freedom, and getting the bad guys. Cap’s entire speech pre-serum could basically be used to summarize Shinichi in 100 words or less. “I don’t like bullies, I don’t care where they’re from”? Yah. Big ass Shinichi.
The other character I could find an immediate likeness to is Amuro - Loki. It’s textbook, you can fight me on this. They’re both manipulative. They’re both double-sided. They are prone to double cross even the people they supposedly trust the most. They’re obsessed with power, and getting what they want --which they think they deserve-- and they will stop at nothing to get to it. So yes, Amuro is very much Loki and you may quote me on that.
Now for the hard part.
Again, most of these characters end up being a combination.
For example, Ran, could be both Wanda and Nakia. I’ll explain: she’s Wanda because she can be incredibly sweet, she is more likely than not to blame herself for things that aren’t exactly her fault, but at the same time she could snap your neck in three seconds if she wanted to. It’s that kind of duality that’s also present in Nakia: sweet and gentle when she wants to, deadly assassin when the time calls.
Then there’s our dear friend Hattori. Oh, Hattori, how could we ever classify Hattori? My thinking process, my common sense, lead me to conclude that Hattori is, mainly, Thor during Ragnarok. This is an important distinction!! If you’re an MCU fan, you’ll know why. You’ll understand that the Thor from the other movies is much more serious, much more stuck up, much more no-nonsense than the Thor in Ragnarok. No, Ragnarok Thor is the one we want for Hattori: fun-loving, motivated, able to crack a joke even in the most dire of situations, but also incredibly responsible, brave, badass. He could also be Peter Quill, our dear Starlord, and I considered it, don’t get me wrong, but the truth is that, at the end of the day, Quill is far more irresponsible than Hattori is. They’re both hotblooded, yes, but, well, it isn’t enough.
Okay, who else did I figure out... Oh, yes! Kid! Kid was also rather easy. He seemed textbook Iron Man --show off, wears a ridiculous suit, tries to make as many people possible know just who the fuck he is-- until I started thinking there was a little bit of Bucky in him too. Bucky, not Winter Soldier. The Bucky that was all fun and games, the Bucky that cared deeply for his best friend. But manly Tony Stark, yeah.
Akai was actually a fun one to think about because I immediately thought of T’Challa and I had to analyze my subconscious to understand where the fuck that came from. But then it made sense. Serious, no-nonsense, ready to lead and to be a leader but looks like he’s not really stressing about it. Hard to joke with, determined... scarily determined. Then I also thought, for the same reasons, he could be the Winter Soldier --so, post-HYDRA Bucky. And Doctor Strange as well. But I kinda like the idea that he’d be T’Challa. Black Panther. Badass motherfucker.
Anyway Haibara is probably Black Widow and/or Gamora. Pretty self-explanatory. Both deadly, both closed up with character arcs revolving around them learning to trust and depend on other people. Both have lost everything --including their families, who in Gamora’s case, aren’t exactly innocent (coughcough Thanos coughcough).
Then I kind of stopped seeing similarities. I guess both Kazuha and Sera would be our dearest Peggy Carter: badass, lethal, don’t care what the rest of the world think of them and are ready to prove them wrong. And I guess Sonoko would be Pepper. Also doesn’t care what people think of her, also stands up for herself... also in control of a multibillion dollar company.
The rest are blurry. Kogoro maybe also shares similarities with Quill, but I’m not confident enough to ascertain it.
But I’m thus opening it up to the public. What do y’all think? Agree? Disagree? Hate me forever?? Let me know!!!
After the edition count results, a brief analysis.
Last week I posted a sum of all editions and character appearances in them, and I felt it needed something else to be complete and that’s why I’m making this post now. You’ll see a list of characters and some random stuff about editing those chracters, and here we go:
Conan Edogawa the main character is the easiest to edit since he's so versatile. he can be cool, funny, sarcastic, fooled, etc. That's why he is the most used character as well. Another reason is that Conan knows has interacted with almost all the characters in the series, so it isn't that hard to make parodies with the brat in glasses. Conan edits will continue at the same pace because the After Reading series will still have Conan on them.
Ran Mouri the main heroine. Ran is a cute and lovely character I have used the most in Shinichi-related situations, lots of edits with her mention Shinichi. but the ones I've enjoyed the most are aggressive Ran using her karate, even if those are just a few ones.
Ai Haibara the sassy character that inspired the editions blog. I get why Aoyama-sensei enjoys drawing Haibara, because something fun is always coming out from her mouth, usually sarcasm, and that's why I liked Haibara so much when I started watching DC. But I like to use her fear of the Black Organization to make parodies out of her.
Sonoko Suzuki Another character I enjoy editing. Since Sonoko is Ran and Shinichi's childhood friend I use that to make her make comments on their not consumed relationship, usually with comments not so favorable for Shinichi (or conan in most cases). Some editions show Sonoko as a character who can make the impossible possible (which are the ones I love the most tbh) and that I will continue making.
Kogoro Mouri Kogoro is a character that can be used to make others laugh, rarely he could be portrayed as a cool man. Most of the Kogoro's appearances are with Conan, making them a dynamic duo.
Ayumi Yoshida The cute Ayumi-chan. Almost all her edits are with the detective boys as a whole. almost all the kids have the same reaction to any other character's weird commentary, most of those coming from Conan or Haibara. So far I've tried to parody her interactions with Conan and Haibara, who she loves and respects respectively.
Shinichi Kudo yes, I usually separate Shinichi and Conan as different characters. Since in his Shinichi persona, he gains confidence to do what he does best (everything perfect). I've used Shinichi the most in ShinRan situations, other than that it's difficult to use him with other characters. The funniest thing is that Shinichi is actually the character with most mentions without appearances through all the editions, like everyone has something to say about him, including me.
Genta Kojima Genta is most used as a comic character, being him the one who is the target of the jokes most of the time. It's almost impossible to make him look cool.
Heiji Hattori Shinichi's rival. I use him the most for Heishin, and some times for Heizuha, but way less. There's little interaction between Heiji and other characters, and I wish I could come up with ideas to change that.
Eri Kisaki My favorite lady in the series. I've made sure to make editions with her a lot, even if she's practically a minor character with no inlfuence in the plot. Most of Eri's edits involve Ran much more than Kogoro. Although Eri's edits have been less in recent times, I'm planning to do some more for the future.
Jodie Starling My second favorite lady in the series, Another character I've used a lot, and recently with the scarlet arc I came up with lots of ideas for Jodie, that I couldn't make before. also recently are the RedStaling editions, which I didn't make early on because I didn't thought it as a ship at that time. I just would say expect more Jodie editions for the future.
Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya well, It's a mystery why I've used him the least in the Detective Boys group since almost all of them comes in a single package all the time. I've tried to make some MitsuAi stuff but it isn't enough. tbh It's difficult to make edits with him because he's too respectful to be the subject of a joke and he wouldn't say anything harsh so I would go out of character with him if he insulted anyone.
Wataru Takagi Takagi is another character that is easy to use, because he's also met with probably all other characters too, and is good with almost everyone, so ideas for Takagi are easy to make, but he's mainly used for TakaSato which is my favorite ship in the series, so it's only natural that I use them together a lot.
Masumi Sera Since day one, Sera has become one of my favorites, even if Sera was introduced so late in the series I've managed to make many editions with her, most of them involving Conan, Ran or Shuu-nii. I've used her tomobyish looks to make edits early on but now it's focused on her family.
Kazuha Toyama Sadly for Kazuha, I've used her almost only for HeiZuha edits. Her little interaction with other characters doesn't help me to change that situation.
Miwako Sato most of the time I've used her to be around Takagi, and sometimes with Conan which Miwako seems to respect a lot. there are a very few times I've used her with other characters alone and I wish I could do that more frequently.
Akai Shuuichi/Subaru Okiya If I used the fact that they are the same person Akai would have ranked top 10, even beating Heiji. but had to use them separate since they seem like the two sides of the same coin. As Akai I've used him as a serious person that is always in business mode, while as Okiya I could use him as a fun person who can be friends with anyone, including annoying kids, not so normal schoolgirls and adults.
Tooru Amuro/Rei Furuya/Bourbon Relatively a new character, but he's made a huge impact on me. that's why he has become one of my favorites, And that's why almost all the editions with him are about Amuro looking cool and never losing to anyone (even Conan). His grudge for Fbi agents has been a great pool of ideas which I enjoy making.
Yukiko Kudo I wish I could use Yukiko a lot more. The files are there, but the ideas aren't. Maybe reviving her actress days could be interesting.
Gin I tried to use him as the character he portrays, but almost the other characters who are involved on the same edit are out of character, so it's difficult to make good edits with Gin.
Andre Camel other than just appearing with Jodie because he's her colleague, I've had almost no other use for Camel.
Hiroshi Agasa Making edits with Agasa is so difficult, He's mostly appeared with the detective boys or sometimes just with Conan. The only way I could make more Agasa edits is that he invents more gadgets Conan and his friends could actually use.
Vermouth I've tried to use Vermouth, but sometimes it's just hard to come up with ideas for her. Maybe her disguised as other characters could work well for her character.
Kaito Kid It's very rare for me to use Kaito Kid. Kaito is already a cool character and I feel I don't need to make parodies to make him look good, but it's harder to make him look bad because there are a few characters who can do so, only Conan/Shinichi, Ran or Aoko could in my opinion. and to make things worse Magic Kaito is pretty much different than DC and I've had problems trying some parodies there. A fish could be the key to more Kaito edits.
Other characters who have 10 or less edits out of those 33 characters, I wish I could make more edits with Yumi, since she seems like another Sonoko to me and I like that, and her dating Haneda could make more interesting situations. Other characters would only appear if I take a panel from a chapter they appear.
Korn, Hakuba and the other characters that never made it to an edition I'm so sorry I haven't been able to make parodies with these characters. someday their time could come or become decayed from waiting.
well that was long. hope I wasn’t boring and repetitive with my words.
have a good day
Oh! Yea sure! The Eriverse is pretty complicated but also just a stupid (/pos) jumble of a bunch of things. (also this might get a tad bit long so buckle up lol)
At it's core, the Eriverse is literally my hyperfixation with the game No Straight Roads (NSR) gone wild lol. It was a game I LOVED for so long to the point I couldn't care about any other media unless I connected it to NSR.
I ended up really liking Psychonauts and the Spiderverse movies, so I did what any one else would naturally do and just plopped those two media into the NSR universe (which is why everyone is colored in strange ways lol). From there I just kept adding onto the universe with either full media or just concepts from other media (so sometimes I'll have the full character cast list and other times I will only have the magic/power system from a world)
The Eriverse is cut up into a few different parts, but there are 4 main ones at this point in my writing (which the 4th part just recently got created so it's still heavily in development).
Name may change, but for now they are known as "The Past," "The Revolutions/Age of Revolutions," "Post Timeskip," and "The Era of Rebirth." Technically there are 3 more sections, but those are more for exposition than for story telling (before The Past, during the Timeskip, and the time between Post Timeskip and The Era of Rebirth which is a 1000 year timespan).
Anyway, the major points go as follows!
-"The Past" is mainly made up of Psychonauts characters and the older generation of NSR characters. This is actually the most established part of the Eriverse because I was creating the past for NSR characters for like years before I delved into creating an expanded universe.
So most of The Past is set in stone and won't have extra media added onto it except for easy stuff I can plop into the timeline (such as Miguel from Spiderverse being friends with Yinu's mother and father from NSR).
-"The Age of Revolutions" are a like 6 year timespan where 3 major revolutions happen (each 2 years apart from each other). The Rock Revolution (which is the events of NSR), the Power Revolution (which is the Eriverse's version of what happens in the Spiderverse franchise, as Nueva York is a company that suppresses people's natural powers and so Miles and the rest of the Arachnikids and Hidden Inventory/JJKgang cause a revolution), and the Tech Revolution (which is the events of Hi Fi Rush).
The Tech Revolution was going to be connected with the Robot Revolution, but instead I changed that to happen after the first Timeskip which would include Hi Fi Rush and the Robots movie from 2005.
-"Post Timeskip" is the period after a 10 year timeskip after the Tech Revolution. Right now this is the area of the Eriverse that I am focusing on the most as I have added the MOST media into this part of the story.
Basically, during the 10 year timeskip, wild magic of the world built up too quickly and started to create creatures known as entities (which is a concept like how Curses from JJK are made). Entities encompass a LOT of creatures from ghost Pokemon to Minecraft mobs, to JJK curses, and even Hatsune Miku lol. Basically anything I can't justify as human/human adjacent or a robot gets turned into an entity (and the classification for human is very broad in this world).
This is probably the hardest part to explain because there is so much and a lot of lore and relationship are reliant on knowledge of the past acts of the Eriverse, but it is SUPPOSED to be a complicated mess that allows for a lot of relationships to play out between characters from different universe. Like Satoru, Suguru, and Shoko (JJK) being kinda sorta adopted kids of DJ Subatomic Supernova (NSR) or how Miles (Spiderverse) is in a relationship with Gwen, Ganke (Spiderverse), and Kento and Haibara (JJK).
Very mess but very fun and a lot of intermingling between characters thanks to both circumstances (such as being sent to Nueva York or working at NSR) and realtionships (a lot of characters are either related or know someone related to someone).
This is also where lore about the magic of the world comes out to the majority of humanity, as well as things like the Culling Games and the Shibuya Incident equivalents happen (I say equivalents because they aren't going to be 1-to-1 or set in Japan. The Culling Games happen over the whole world and the Shibuya Incident happens in Vinyl City which is Malaysia equivalent).
-"The Age of Chaos" (and other titles). This is the 1000 years between Post Timeskip and The Era of Rebirth. It's also called the "Age of Corruption" and the "Centuries of War" which should be a good indicator of what this time period was like. Very chaotic and messy and was also the time where humans ended up falling as the the ones who were dominating Earth. Now it's mostly entities, with humans and robots having to fight for their lives. Not much story is going to happen here other than retellings from other media (the Great Diamond attack from Steven Universe and Nightmare Moon from My Little Pony happen during this period).
-"The Era of Rebirth" is the new age of story telling after the Age of Chaos ends. It's supposed to be mainly about Mana (the rebirthed Mahito who died before the Culling Games happened), Steven Universe, and Princess Luna coming to terms with what they/their former selves had done while also trying to help bring peace to the world as best as they can.
Magic in this part of the world is much more powerful. Before, like in The Past, magic was very weak and basically only applied to the person themself and couldn't be used on others unless they were very powerful or were boosted by music magic. Now, in the Era of Rebirth, music still reigns supreme but also magic is everywhere to the point that humans can use magic very easily.
This is why media such as My Little Pony, Freiren, Avatar the Last Airbender, and other heavily magical series are placed here!
_____________________
Anyway! That is the just the technical lore part of the Eriverse! Like which media is where (I didn't even go into the whole list of different shows and games that I have planned to be here).
There are still plenty of actual plot points I could summarize as well as in-universe history about how the world works. Things such as Elementals, robots, how magic came to be, Tengen being the first ever Entity, the mutation of magic into the human race that even allowed for things like psychics and elementals to exist.
And THAT'S not even talking about how this world culturally differs from ours in how words like "human" are much more broad and relaxed compared to how IRL live uses those words.
Same thing with Entities having different cultures such as the Trolls having a blood color hierarchy while gems have an entirely different hierarchy which is different from the curses.
All of this is combine to try and make the world seem a lot more fleshed out. I try to go all over the world throughout history while also connecting characters and stories all together.
It really is super hard to explain all in one post, and this is already getting SUPER long, so I will definitely try to make a masterpost connected to sections of the Eriverse where I can talk more in depth about each part lore-wise instead of just the technical stuff.
Hope this was a fun read for you and anyone else! :D
I need to make a new pinned post. Talking about the Eriverse, my random ass tagging system, and also letting people know I am pretty okay with being tagged randomly (though I won't get to every tag some days because of my motivation sometimes lol)
Also need to change my commissions to off because I just can't do those while working. I just can't. I'm not even working full time and can't do them. I plan to work full time so I KNOW I won't be able to do them later.
So uh, for now take this as my new pinned post so my commission page isn't the first thing you see when you open my blog! :D
#eriverse#eritalks#noart#eriblogs#did not mean for it to get this long#i TRIED to stay concise#but there is like 5 years worth of lore#3 of those years are JUST n/sr lore#that got added onto#to create the e/riverse#so yea#there is a LOT to read#and one day i will make a masterpost#:3#it's also hard to explain#if you don't know a lot of the media#but hey!#it's still fun to talk about!#and it gets me into more shows and games!#:D
Rum Arc Discussion Series: The Kohji Case
The Kohji case had a lot of scattered information. Although it’s limited, we have gotten many clues that are worth discussing. Previous Discussion Topic (Wakasa Rumi): http://masterdetectivexx.tumblr.com/post/156214348809/rum-arc-discussion-thread-plot-characters As we know, The 17-year-old double-murder was done by the Black Organization. This was a cemented fact, the moment we found out that Kohji’s name was written in the APTX list(the list of victims that were drugged by the organization’s experimental drug)(File 947). Then, it was established that Rum(BO’s current second-in-command) was the culprit, through Gin(File 953). The victims were Haneda Kohji and Amanda Hughes, and the prime suspect was Asaka. We also know that Akai Tsutomu was involved. In total, we have 5 important players in this case, and I’ll be going though each one of them.
Haneda Kohji
Haneda Kohji was a shogi-player and had come to the US to participate in a chess competition. The day before the competition, he was killed in his hotel room. What we know from that “Kohji website”(which contained the details surrounding that case) is that he was visited by Amanda Hughes(a huge fan of his), before his death. The reason this was “assumed” was because her fingerprints were found on different places inside Kohji’s room. Since her fingerprints were found on teacups, sofa and knife & forks, it is assumed that they were sitting on the sofa, drinking tea and eating snacks while having a chat(File 948).
After Amanda left, he was later assaulted by Rum, the culprit of that case, and the defensive wounds in Kohji’s arms, including the broken crockery and smashed cups, suggested that he was struggling against him until he was forced with the prototype drug(made by Sherry’s parents). For an unknown reason however, Rum had fled the scene, before cleaning up the messy room in order to make it look like nothing happened(following the BO’s M.O)(948).
Because of this, Kohji was able to leave a dying message, by “cutting” out specific letters from a hand-mirror after putting it under hot water. This was assumed due to the fact that his hand had marks that suggested that he was gripping a pair of scissors very tightly, and that the sink in his room was left open, as well as that a hand-mirror with missing letters was found. The missing letters were “#U# ## MASCARA”(derived from “PUT ON MASCARA”).
As we know, Conan’s(and the rest of the cast’s) interpretation of the dying message was that the removed letters “U MASCARA” was the message itself, and that it could be rearranged as “ASACA RUM”, and could be seen as “Asaka is Rum”. Whether this is the true interpretation or not, or whether the arrangement is even correct, is still a debate, but that it coincides with the names of two important players in this case is a hard fact. There are two incidents that needs attention. The first is Kohji’s clearly highlighted meeting with Amanda, not long before his death, and the second is Rum’s sudden escape from the crime scene. These two holes in the “Kohji website info” most likely plays a big role in the overall case development, since they are left vague by Gosho because he’s planning on filling them in later on. Amanda’s conversation with Kohji therefore carries a hidden development. Going by Haibara’s assumption, Amanda was most likely Rum’s target, and Kohji was most likely targeted by Rum because he was affiliated with her and had met her very recently(which, again follows the M.O of the BO, since they try to erase any potential leads to them). If Kohji wasn’t directly connected to the BO, then there’s no way for him to know about the BO members’ code-name(as assumed by Conan). Considering that Rum left the scene right after his attack(second hole), there shouldn’t have been a moment were his code-name could be heard by Kohji. If Conan’s assumption is true, is it possible that Amanda’s conversation with Kohji(first hole) played an important role in this scenario? Depending on Amanda’s affiliation with the BO, she could have potentially shared information about the BO/Rum with Kohji. This does however raise the question of why she would go to Kohji(of all people), her favorite shogi player that happened to visit the US for a match, to share that dangerous information. From the knowledge that we currently have regarding Kohji’s and Amanda’s relationship, it does seem out of place and too unrealistic to be the case, which by extension makes the assumption that Kohji knew about the BO/Rum, as well as “ASACA RUM” interpretation, less likely. The second hole suggests an interference, or an urgent development, that forced Rum to leave the scene. This sudden development lead to Kohji being alone in the room, followed by him leaving the dying message. Assuming that Kohji didn’t know about Rum/BO(in other words, “ASACA=RUM” is incorrect), it would mean that his message could have been mainly one of three things. The first possibility is a warning. If he for some reason had a suspicion about the killer’s original target, or the next target, then his message could’ve served as a warning for that target(like in File 133). The second possibility is the identity of the culprit. Like the majority of all dying message, this message could have been revealing the culprit’s identity, meaning that Kohji recognized Rum and knew his name(Examples:“karasuma”/“Sakamura”/“Masakura”[a sake name apparently btw]/etc.). In this case, it would mean that Rum is a famous figure, similar to Chris Vineyard(Vermouth). Since we know that Kohji was struggling against Rum, it wouldn’t be strange if Rum lost his disguise(hat/cap/mask/etc) in the middle of it, and ended up revealing himself to Kohji. If Rum wasn’t a known figure however, it’s possible that Rum had distinguishable characteristics/features that Kohji was alluding to in his message(like scar/age-group/gender/symbol). The third possibility is a final word. From the very beginning, this could have been a message intended for a loved one, or someone else that he wanted to relay a final message to. It’s also possible that the message had more than one meaning, but with the restrained time, it’s unlikely. Overall, considering that he had alphabetic letters to work with, and since he’s in the US, it’s not a stretch to assume that the message can be read by non-japanese speakers, but it’s also possible that the message relies on knowledge that he’s the most comfortable with, like shogi and chess(interestingly enough, the numbers in chessboards fits with the number of letters in the message).
Amanda Hughes
Amanda Hughes was an old wealthy and influential person who was Kohji’s fan. Just like with Kohji, she was killed by Rum. Although her name was never seen in the APTX list, her mysterious death suggests that she died from the prototype drug(which leaves no trace after being digested). According to Haibara, Amanda was most likely the organization’s target, due to her powerful position in society, and she even had connections to the FBI & CIA(File 948).
Before her death, as mentioned, she visited Kohji to chat about something. After the visit, she died after digesting the prototype drug. The fact that there was no indication of a struggle, and the that the room was left tidy, means that Rum successfully followed the BO’s M.O, which by extension makes the fact that the Kohji crime scene was a mess even more suspicion. Somehow, Amanda got herself a bodyguard that she called “Asaka”. The bodyguard Asaka disappeared directly after the murder, ultimately making him/her the prime suspect. Even close acquaintances of Amanda were clueless as to how she hired Asaka, meaning that it was done secretly for some reason(948).
In Amanda’s case, we can once again find another important hole in the information. The third hole is the mystery behind the way Amanda hired Asaka, and why. An influential person like Amanda hiring bodyguards(for no reason) is nothing uncommon, but the fact that it was hidden from her close relatives and acquaintances suggests that there was a hidden motive behind it. If she was aware of the BO’s plans to assassinate her, then it would explain her secret activities. For her to be aware of it however, it would imply that she’s connected to them in someway. Seeing as she’s a wealthy woman, it’s very likely that she was investing money to the BO(possibly for their research). The fact that she didn’t seek help from her FBI/CIA contacts(as far as we know) suggests that she might have been avoiding them(possibly due her involvement with a criminal organization). The fact she might be aware that her life is in danger might be due to her doing something that she knows went against the BO’s wishes. It could’ve also been a mistake on her part, that she knew was unforgivable. Another reason could be that she fell under their suspicion, due to her ties with the FBI/CIA being accidentally revealed, leading to the BO losing their trust on her(whether she was spying for them or not). So how did Amanda hire Asaka? Going by Conan’s assumption(“ASACA=RUM”), it would mean that she unknowingly secretly hired Rum, a BO member. But if her secrecy is due to the anticipated BO threat, then that would mean that she hired the “threat” himself to protect herself from it. That kind of mistake is very alerting, since you would assume that someone who’s likely fearing for their life would be extra picky and careful with the people they hire. Also, if she really did that mistake, it would mean that Rum had all the time to kill her, before they arrived in the hotel, but not only did he let her live up to that point, but he also let her meet Kohji, which lead to him having to unnecessarily kill him afterwards(and ultimately make mistakes). Following this line of thought, it’s very unlikely that Amanda hired/met Rum before she visited the hotel(assuming again, that “ASACA=RUM” is true). If this is the case, it also seems quite unlikely and unsafe for someone in her position to meet/hire someone, that she hasn’t met before, in a public place like a hotel(especially if she was aware of the BO threat, hence her secret hiring). This makes the overall “ASACA=RUM” interpretation even more improbable. If we were to ignore Conan’s assumption, then all these inconsistencies that we currently have disappears. This still leaves us with the question of how Asaka was hired. If we consider the the first hole in the “Kohji website info”(Amanda’s meeting with Kohji), then it could potentially fill this third hole(Asaka’s hiring). If Asaka was hired during Amanda’s meeting with Kohji, then it could explain why the hiring was such a mystery to everyone close to her. What this would imply is that Asaka was originally Kohji’s bodyguard, who came with him to the US. As I addressed before, the likelihood that Amanda would reveal dangerous info about the BO to a shogi player, that she happens to admire, is very unlikely. It’s not as unlikely however that she might have addressed general worries for her life during her chat with him. This could’ve ultimately lead to Kohji having his trusted bodyguard Asaka assigned to Amanda, as extra precaution, during her stay in the hotel(if not until the competition the next day), in order calm her nerves.
Asaka
As I mentioned in my Rumi discussion, there are certain contradictions about Asaka. To summarize it, if Asaka is Rum, then Asaka can’t be a woman. The thing that suggested to Hotta, as well as Conan, that Asaka is female is the fact she was seen carrying a hand-mirror. That hand-mirror was most likely the same hand-mirror that Kohji used for his dying message. This is another clue that could help us shed some light to this Asaka mystery.
When Agasa asked if it was Amanda’s hand-mirror, Haibara mentioned that it’s probably Kohji’s and that it’s normal for Shogi-players to care for their looks, but that it also might’ve been given to him by someone(File 948).
This looked a lot like Gosho’s way of alluding to the truth, like he usually does with Conan(when the last thing he points out after his previous points ends up being the correct one). Kohji being given the hand-mirror by someone is most likely the truth. What we also need to take into consideration however is that Asaka was at some point seen with a hand-mirror(File 953).
Again, if we look at it through the “ASACA=RUM” mindset, it would imply that at some point, the hand-mirror went from Rum to Kohji(since Rum fled the scene before Kohji left the message with the hand-mirror, and since the room was never cleaned up, Rum likely never returned). The only possible way for that to happen is if he dropped his hand-mirror during his struggle with Kohji, but that still raises the question of why Rum carries a hand-mirror to begin with. It’s not a rule that only females can carry it, but from Gosho’s depiction of that plot-point, we are supposed to see gender-stereotypes as the norm. Taking this fact into consideration, including the implications that the hand-mirror was most likely given to Kohji, once again lessens the likelihood of “ASACA=RUM” interpretation to be true. If Asaka was originally Kohji’s bodyguard however, it would explain why Asaka was seen with it and how it was given to Kohji. This would imply that Asaka is indeed a female bodyguard, who shared her hand-mirror with the person she’s hired to protect, Kohji. If we were to follow this line of thought however, we come to the realization that even after Asaka was assigned to Amanda, by Kohji, Rum still managed to kill her. The tidiness of the room suggest that a mess wasn’t created, or that he successfully cleaned after himself without interference. Right after killing Amanda, he went straight to Kohji’s room, but what happened to Asaka? If there was never a mess in Amanda’s room to begin with, then it’s possible that his attack on her wasn’t as straightforward as when he dealt with Kohji. Rum could’ve planned out the best strategy to poison her without having to directly force it into her. With this possibility in mind, it wouldn’t be impossible for Rum to have overlooked Asaka(who he didn’t expect to be in Amanda’s room as she unknowingly digested the poison). How he directly dealt with Kohji, using force, indicates that Kohji’s assassination was most likely an urgent last-minute-plan(after finding out about his meeting with Amanda). That’s when the second hole comes into the picture(where Rum, for an unknown reason, suddenly flees from Kohji’s room, after forcing him with the drug), and after Asaka realized that both of them were dead, she likely fled due to all of it looking like she did it(especially since she was in both of their rooms). If Rum directly attacked Amanda as well however, and then later cleaned up her room, it’s also possible that he in fact did attack Asaka along with Amanda, and forced her with the drug, after finding out that she was Kohji’s bodyguard(meaning that Kohji met Amanda). Although we have no clues to shrinking side-effects of the early prototypes made by Sherry’s parents, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to consider the possibility that Asaka shrank, which in turn would explain her sudden disappearance after Kohji’s and Amanda’s death. Pisco’s line about Sherry’s prototype’s shrinking effect suggests that her parents never got their research that far(File 242), but Pisco’s knowledge could’ve easily been limited as well.
Akai Tsutomu
The first time Akai’s father was mentioned was in File 949. Subaru revealed that his father was involved in Kohji’s case and that his involvement was the reason he joined the FBI. When Conan asked if Tsutomu worked with the FBI, Subaru answered:
“He wasn’t FBI, but…”
In this very case(FIle 948-950), there are two important groups that were name-dropped, the FBI & the CIA. These drops were most likely intentionally setup by Gosho for this very hint to be established. Akai Tsutomu was involved for a reason, and it was most likely connected to Amanda, who was targeted by the BO and had ties to both the FBI & CIA. The fact that Subaru left an ambiguous “but…”(as if an alternative answer was underway before he interrupted himself), right after denying that his father worked with the FBI, indicates that Tsutomu must be working with the other alternative, that was recently mentioned alongside the first alternative, the CIA. It’s a clever story-telling tactic to hide the answer while at the same time leaving it right under the reader’s nose. His involvement with a case that takes place in the US(even though his family lives in the UK) further indicates that his father was tied to the country in someway(which makes sense if he was a CIA-agent). Adding to the fact that Akai had an unknown source that possessed CIA intel(File 595) further hints towards this direction. His goal was most likely Amanda Hughes. It’s possible that the CIA picked up on her suspicious activities that connected her to the BO(her possible investments for example). Whatever the reason was, it lead curious Tsutomu to the hotel. What we later find out is that Tsutomu disappeared after Kohji’s and Amanda’s death, similarly to Asaka. Mary reveals that he apparently sent a final message during his disappearance, warning his family that “he made enemies with really horrible people” and that they should flee to Japan and act like he’s dead(File 972). This was followed by Akai, who thinks to himself about his father’s body not being found.
Tsutomu said that he had “made enemies” with some really “horrible people”. This was clearly alluding to the BO, but what is interesting to note is that he said that “he made enemies”. This is a clear indication that Tsutomu stood against the BO during his involvement in the Kohji case, meaning that he interfered with their activities, which lead to him becoming their target. This very situation that he got himself into coincides awfully well with the second hole in the “Kohji website info”(Rum’s sudden escape from Kohji’s room) and could potentially be the answer to it. The reason to why Rum couldn’t follow the BO’s M.O in Kohji’s room and instead fled could be due to Tsutomu’s interference. After finding Amanda’s corpse, Tsutomu might’ve run straight to Kohji’s room and encountered Rum, who had just forced Kohji with the drug. The fact that Akai was talking about “a dead body not being found”, indicates that there were most likely signs of Tsutomu’s potential death(but with no trace of a body). The usual signs of death is if blood is found in a crime scene. If Tsutomu’s blood was in Kohji’s room, then it’s very likely that a fight took place between Rum and Tsutomu, ultimately leading towards Rum’s escape and Tsutomu’s disappearance(after realizing the trouble his family could get into). While Rum was distracted by Tsutomu, Kohji would have the little time that he needed to leave a message, as he’s slowly dying by the drug(similarly to how Shinichi struggles before the shrinking-effect kicks in). This scenario would imply that Akai Tsutomu is still alive(if there’s no future development that would suggest otherwise).
Rum
In this whole case exposition(File 948-954), the only hard facts we have regarding Rum and the BO is that Rum screwed up his job(File 953), and that the BO is aware of the dying message, and that it can be read as “ASACA RUM”(File 954).
This very limited information doesn’t tell us much about Rum, or if “ASACA=RUM” is true, but it does imply that Rum’s mistake is connected to the second hole(Rum suddenly fleeing from the scene). Following my previous potential explanation to that hole, it’s possible that Tsutomu was the cause to Rum’s escape, which lead to all the mistakes that followed with it(The M.O not being fulfilled, Tsutomu not being dealt with and Kohji managing to leave a potentially-dangerous message). Now, taking Conan’s assumption to consideration, the message would clearly pose a problem to the BO. But if we look at it from the second perspective(dismissing Conan’s assumption), it would mean that another weight is added to Rum’s mistake, Asaka. Her disappearance is clearly another problem that highlights Rum’s mistake from 17 years ago, since the “Kohji website” keeps reminding them that one person, that was involved, managed to escape(whether Asaka was overlooked at the moment of the crime or not) and could pose a threat if they(Asaka) possess threatening information. Them investigating anything that involves “ASACA RUM”(the dying message) wouldn’t be surprising, if Asaka is still being searched by them and that the message might be connected to her.
The Kohji Website’s uploader
When Agasa was surprised by the amount of detail in the Kohji website, Conan revealed that the website was taken down multiple times, but the uploader kept putting it up continuously as if they were desperately seeking help(File 948). This was then followed by Agasa emphasizing the suspicious “minute detail” that the website had regarding that case.
This was clearly Gosho’s way to hint us that the uploader was someone that was there and participated in that case in someway. Currently, there are only two players in that case that would have a reason to seek help, Tsutomu and Asaka. Taking once again Conan’s assumption into consideration, it would mean that the uploader is Tsutomu, or someone that Tsutomu shared the details with(which in that case would exclude Mary, since the implications in File 972 suggested that the text was the only thing he sent to her). If we again disregard Conan’s assumption, it would leave Asaka as an option too. The narrative in the website is done as if it’s from a neutral person. This is a clever move if you want to avoid suspicion by the people that’s hunting you. With that in mind, Asaka could’ve easily portrayed herself as the prime suspect, since she’s aware that it’s the first thing an outsider would see her as, after her disappearance(hence why she fled in the first place, if it wasn’t because of a shrinking). If it’s Tsutomu, then he might not even know if Asaka is Rum or not, unless Rum had distinguishable features/clothes that contradicts the Asaka photo. Whoever it was(Asaka or Tsutomu), it’s very clear that Gosho is alluding to that the uploader is someone that was directly involved in that 17-year-old case. Summary: Haneda Kohji
- An important development most likely took place during his meeting with Amanda(first plot hole). - A sudden development took place, that interfered with Rum’s assassination of Kohji(after successfully drugging him) and forced him to flee, before Kohji left the dying message(second plot hole) - The likelihood that Haneda Kohji had prior knowledge on the BO is currently low. - His dying message is more likely to be something that americans can also interpret, but it might also rely on knowledge that he’s comfortable with(like Chess/Shogi). Amanda Hughes
- The way she hired Asaka is important(third plot hole). - She was most likely connected to the BO in someway(hence why she was targeted), and her secret hiring of Asaka suggests that she was most likely worried for her life. - The third plot hole might be connected to the first, meaning that Asaka was assigned to Amanda during her meeting with Kohji(in other words, that Asaka was originally Kohji’s bodyguard). Asaka
- The hand-mirror was at some point with Asaka, and then ended up with Kohji, and the likelihood that it was given to him is high. - If the hand-mirror is Asaka’s, and was given to Kohji, then the likelihood that Asaka is female is high(in other words, Asaka being Rum is low). - If Asaka is female, the reason to her disappearance could be due to wanting to avoid blame for the murders, or that she was also attacked with the drug, but instead shrank. Akai Tsutomu
- Tsutomu is most likely a CIA agent, and he might’ve been investigating Amanda’s affiliation with the BO. - His text to Mary suggests that he took a stand that interfered with the BO’s mission, ultimately making them his enemies. - His interference might be connected to the second plot hole, meaning that he interfered with Rum’s assassination, and ended up helping Kohji leave a dying message. Tsutomu might’ve fought with Rum and bled, but successfully managed to fend him off and flee himself. Rum
- Rum’s mistake is most likely the fact that he was unable to deal with the interference that lead to Kohji successfully leaving a dying message and Rum not being able to clean up after himself. - If Tsutomu was the interference, then his disappearance adds up to Rum’s mistakes. - If Asaka is female, then her disappearance also adds up to Rum’s mistakes, and the BO are most likely still searching for her. The Kohji website’s uploader
- The uploader is most likely someone directly involved in that case. - If Asaka is Rum, then the only alternative is Tsutomu, or someone he shared the info with(excluding Mary). - If Asaka is female, then the likelihood that the uploader is either Asaka or Tsutomu is high.
