How TXT and Enhypen often feel like the two sides of a same coin (in my very modest opinion)

I just have a lot of thoughts in my head so I will ramble here (warning : english is not my first language, so there will most probably be misspelled words and confusing wording) :

• Their vibes : cat coded and dog coded

I'm not sure how to explain it, but to me TXT are such a cat coded group while Enhypen are such a dog coded group

- I mean yeah, okay, Tubatu has Kai the golden retriver and Gyu the maltese. BUT they also give me such strong orange cat vibes. Very playful, a little mischievous, ready to run away anytime before coming back to get food and scratches.

- And yeah Enha has Jay and especialy Jungwon, the kittiest person ever. BUT as a group they are also such dog people ? (I do realized the irony giving the BTHB MV but it's also giving "big guard dogs chasing the smart cat" imo). Also I guess I'm biased by the fact that the members show off their dogs so often.

• Their cuteness : obvious and """hidden"""

The amount of cute agression both groups trigger in me is astonishing, but is quite different ways :

- I feel like tubatu "show off" their cuteness more ? (Not the perfect word but you get the idea). I just feel like they broadcast it more often at least.

- But enha, they try their best to look cool and confident (and they do), but there is nothing cuter than a cool looking guy trying (and failing) to hide his cute side. When the confidence mask breaks and then they're all eyes smile and giggles and bread cheeks and- ugh. ADORABLE.

Actually, I think this is linked to my next point :

• Their image : bestie and boyfie

Like any boygroups, they have their part of romantic fanservice to do. However, I feel like the impacts are a little different, most probably because of their respective lore.

- In my opinion, despite the romantic tone of many of their songs, Tubatu's lore is more about growing up, and the complications and challenges that come. It's mostly centered around them and their emotions/reactions than anything, so the fans are supposed to relate to it. Outside of the MVs, during concerts, fanmet, etc., I just don't feel like they do that much fanservice ? (Taehyun on weverse being the exception lol). I guess this has a lot to do with what the fans ask from them too, but from what I see I feel like they keep this friendly vibe on top of everything. (Also their passion for pokémon. Very bestie thing to share. Love it.).

- On the other end, Enha's lore revolves around their relationship with their love interest (Sooha, Chloé, the cat, Engene...). The whole "bf vibe" is an important part of their promotion, especially in the most recent XO era. And of course there is all the fanservice that come with it (isn't it, Mr. EVAN LEE ? 🤨). Once again, the fans' reaction to it, especially during fanmeting, only fuels this impression I guess (their fanbase has quite the reputation for being delulu, after all...).

Music Bank 2023 with Aly

Okay, here we go with my opinions on mubank23 in paris!

Let's start with the music - the most important thing.

I was a little disappointed, because even though Skz were headliners, Tbz got more Songs than them. Nonetheless I enjoyed it a ton!

Our boys started with Case 143, played Maniac (BESTIES POPPIN LIVE HAD ME ASCENDING), continued with God's Menu (nobody expected this?? It slayed so hard??? NE SONNIM LIKE OKAY SIR THAT GROWL) and we ended with the biggest surprise of all: MIROH! Hearing an entire Stadium going "Stray Kids Hoo!" was incredible!

I enjoyed the other groups, aswell, but as you know I am only a Stay (so far), so I can't give the best feedback on it. I am 100% sure I will start stanning AB6IX, though. They fucking SLAYED! I also did enjoy the other boygroups a lot. I'll absolutely get into them. (Besties Keeho was killing me)

BESTIES MAMAMOO LIVE?? HWASA??? THE SCREAMS I SCREAMT!!!!

IVE and NMIXX aren't for me personally, but they were great live! Enjoyable!

The Fanbase

Now I personally had a great experience with all kinds of fans! I made a lot of friends, we all adopted eachother! During the Concert I was sitting next to a ENGENE and we made a deal: I film enhypen if she films skz, so we could focus on dancing and singing along. She even gave me her lightstick when it was Skz turn!

In addition to that I met the sweetest girl the day before, who was giving out Freebies before the Concert. She saved me a Quokka keychain and gave it to me after mubank! You can find her shop on insta: @mavizia.eu

I also met a bunch of other fans, funny enough it was almost exclusively Chan Biases lmao. A nice group adopted us in the line and kept us around!

The Fanbase for partypit

Now I had seats, but from my view I could see a lot of what was happening in the pit. I also had a bunch of friends in there who told me the same exact thing: It was horribly dangerous. Obsessive fans kept pushing people, some people got punched. Multiple fans fainted due to a multitute of reasons. And we don't even need to talk about the fans during lineup - so many kept cutting in line, shouting at others. I was genuinely lucky to have made so many skz friends in line easily, so we were a pretty big group that nobody messed with!

The organisation

Okay I have to be honest here, guys. I am an eventmanager. This was absolute fucking shit. Security did not ban campers, nothing was done against fannumbering and when people started lining up at 4am nothing was done. This was actual absolute shit. I could go on about this for hours, but I'd rather focus on the positives. This was one of the worst concert organisations I have ever experienced. If I hadn't had seats I would have been stressed beyond the imaginable.

The end of the concert was also officially annunced half an hour later. They ended early, with skz only getting 4 songs, even though they were headlining. I have a lot of opinions on this, and am convinced I would have done a better job at organizing this. And no, guys, there is barely a difference planning 20.000 people or 40.000. They should have had an early queue set-up and 90% of everyones problems even before the concert would have ended.

Now all in all in enjoyed it, though. I will absolutely stan more than just skz now. Overall I was very happy with the concert! Especially thanks to the amazing trip through the city I had earlier that day. It was generally very enjoyable. <3

Honestly…I’m a bit disappointed.

Maybe it’s because my expectations were too high after Drunk-Dazed? I don’t know, but Tamed-Dashed doesn’t hit as hard. I really love the falsettos and vocals in the chorus, but other than that, nothing really stand out. It’s a song I’ll probably listen to as a pick-me-up or I’ll put into my cheerful and happy playlist, maybe it’ll grow on me after I listen to it more. Overall, it sounds subpar compared to their other title tracks, more like a generic pop b-side rather than a title track. I wished the instrumental was stronger in the chorus, the pre-chorus was pretty solid (especially the ”nana nana” part, the buildup was really good), the verses…weren’t much, and there’s this weird vocal effect that I’m not fond of. For fucks sake, Belift mixers and engineers, please stop putting audio effects over their beautiful vocals. Drunk-Dazed was so so so good, and could’ve been a huge banger on my list, but the mixing there ruined my first few listens before I started getting accustomed to it. Stop it with the auto tune. Our boys sound just fine without it.

Also, I wished the finale was more grand and full, rather than just repeating the same old chorus structure (like the outro for d-d, I can ramble on and on abt how perfect it is). Since I love the constant riff they had going throughout the hook, I would’ve added that to connect the bridge and final chorus together, and then added more ad-libs in the background of the final chorus. The ending caught me off-guard, maybe put in a more casual fade-out, with the same descending notes as the bridge? I don’t know, but I feel like adding more instrumentals and vocals might make it stronger.

Still haven’t listened to the b-sides yet, I’m really excited for Upper Side Dreamin :) Maybe I’ll do an analysis on each of them too

as heeseung enjoys sleep & comfort i'd really see him enjoying something simple as pillows and hoodies. something he can wear anytime and something he can use when he's at his peace place, sleeping. he also mentioned that he wanted to be able to create his own songs so gifting him a notebook so he can begin writing songs is absolutely adorable. he'd be so happy that, though your gifts were simple, they were close to heart.

JAY — a recipe book + cooking utensils, and a store for his fashion company

as jay has taken over as the parent of enhypen and he loves to cook, might as well get him a recipe book to try out new recipes! he said that as a child he wanted to be a chef, well the first step is learning how to cook and have all your utensils. okay, so this part is mostly a joke because how could we really buy a whole store... but jay has said to have good style and he wanted to open up a fashion brand in the future.

JAKE — dog toys (for layla), a speaker, and or headphones

jake loves layla, as in loves, and honestly i'd feel like he'd be happy to get a Christmas present gifted to him but for layla. he'd love anyone who took care of layla and loved dogs and her as much as he did. he also (in my opinion) has good taste in music and has a good vibe.

SUNGHOON — cute penguin stuffed animal + ice skate keychain

sunghoon is really simple and he seems to be someone who loves simple yet kind gestures. he's very stone-cold but he still shows SOME affection to his members. as he is said to be like a penguin i thought getting him a stuffed penguin plushie would be adorable and an ice skate keychain to just remind him of his long journey to becoming an idol and his love for skating.

SUNOO — self-care things + mint choco ice cream + tteokbokki

sunoo loves taking care of himself and having flawless and gorgeous skin. he's very careful about what he uses on his face and i believe he would love to be gifted more skincare products to look lovely for all us engenes. we all know his LOVE for mint choco ice cream so why would we not get him any. he also is in love with spicy food and can handle it pretty well sooooo our sunshine sunoo deserves tteokbokki.

JUNGWON — sheep plushie + dog keychain that looks like maeumi + cactus

jungwon has the cutest personality and honestly believe he'd want anything cute that represents him, though he doesn't say it. since his nickname is sheep garden,, a sheep plushie no matter how it looks or how expensive would be an ADORABLE fit for wonnie. since he also might not be able to see maeumi a lot due to his busy schedule something that'll help him remember maeumi is a little keychain for his bag! also since (rip) injang has passed.. ���️ jungwon should have a new little cactus to take care of monthly.

RIKI — video games + a new headset or gaming chair

riki has said before he loves to play video games and as the growing child he still is he deserves to have fun though their very busy schedule. since our riki's a PRO GAMERRRR he should have his own headset and gaming chair if not already having one.

this is ltrly the one that rly fits him (and wdywfm) sometimes it feels like people just like him for his looks, not his personality, not his talents and stuff. the lyrics fit him well too, since ppl write lots of sm/t for him :// i cant stop thinking of him everytime i listen to this song goodbye it rly fits him i will cry.

➮ proudly says “engenes, of course”, the members would play along but they know there’s someone else aside from engenes he wants to impress

➮ given the chance to be the ending fairy, he proudly does it, his hyungs smiling and laughing about how cute he can be when it comes to showing off how cool he really is to his idol crush

➮ when his group stands pretty close to his idol crush’s group, you bet he’s gonna stare discreetly so he’s not obvious

➮ would have a big celebration in his head when they catch him staring at them and smiling, bowing as well to show respect
