A friend told me to post this here uhhh Dawn and their son Doey idkkk

Dawn had finally come back from a supply run, dragging a bag across the ground. The new and improved Safe Haven was in the distance, better security, cleaner, it felt more like home. Things seemed calmer here… sure there was still the lingering threat of the prototype looming over everyone's head, but at least inside, you were able to forget about it for awhile. Dawn slung the bag over their shoulder, and with their other arm they pushed themselves through a crack that only Doey and them could get through. The toys surrounded Dawn as they approached the center, each excitedly asking if they found anything cool, asking if they could turn on the TV, and a million other questions that got lost in the sea of voices.

Dawn noticed Doey was nowhere to be found, it was still recent that they were let back in. Some of the toys still didn't trust him, especially after what he accidentally did to Dawn. They handed off the bag to one of the older toys, asking them to categorize whatever they managed to get their hands on. Dawn searched throughout New Haven, eventually finding him hidden away, nestled between debris. They walked up to Doey, not saying a word and sat down next to him. It was silent for a while, Dawn not knowing what to say, unable to imagine what Doey must be going through at this moment. They finally gained their courage and looked up towards them.

He was looking away, like he usually did. Ever since they got back from The Doctor, they hadn't been able to make eye contact no matter how many times Dawn told them it was okay, that they didn't blame them at all. "I take it things didn't go well when I went out for the supply run?" Dawn tried to smile, wanting to make the situation less awkward than it was.

Doey didn't say anything at all, he barely acknowledged Dawns presence. Dawn leaned back, closing their eyes and exhaling deeply. "They still don't trust you?" Dawn spoke slowly and quietly, they opened their eyes to look at Doey again.

"Give it some time, people just gotta process stuff sometimes. Especially those kids. Trust me." Dawn leaned against Doey's arm, gently patting his arm. "Eventually you'll all be—"

"They think I'm like him." There was malice in his voice, and Dawn swore they heard Kevins voice shining through. "They thought I killed you.. They all did, even that stupid human you let stay with us." He played with his hands, they glanced at Dawn for a moment, but looked away a moment later. "They think im some sort of monster.."

Dawn stood up almost instantly after hearing what he said. They stood in front of Doey, reaching out to hold his hands. "No no no. No one here thinks you're a monster, and if they do, prove them wrong. You're always so helpful, always so kind, all of you are. You could never be like him not in a million years."

Dawn could see that he was on the verge of crying, they felt horrible. How long have they let him feel like this? They held his hands tighter. "You three are all so talented, so brave. you are the complete opposite of him, you hear? You might be a little bit mean sometimes, but even then nothing you do comes close. What you did was an accident… A mistake, and everyone makes mistakes."

Not even a second later, Doey hugged them tightly. Sobbing into their shoulder. Dawn hugged them back, wrapping their arms around him. "It's gonna be okay.. I got you. I'm here.. I'm here."
