piranesi classpects cause im cringe:

Laurence: prince of light

He's self-absorbed and obsessed with knowledge. more specifically, things that once were. while this does indicate void-ness, I think he is very destructive. he uses things we've already discovered (such as the museum artefacts) to wrench the unknown out of it, no matter the cost. Like, literally using light to destroy the unknown, to make it known. his desire to be subversive and different drives him and he really doesnt care about the well-being of others, as indicated by the many people hes sent into the House.

The Other: thief of mind

I was deliberating whether he was light or mind, because he's searching for the Hidden Knowledge that Laurence taught him, but I've settled on mind because of his relationship with Piranesi. he literally steals him away and takes his sanity, his mind, for his own gain. Laurence did say that he's never thought up new ideas, only used other people's for his gain. (Laurence and Ketterley are sort of grimly obsessed with each other in the same way Vriska and Terezi are, in a way. Light/Mind parallels?)

Piranesi: page of space

Okay, I dont know. I think he's spacebound because of his relationship to the House, how he knows it so well that it's a part of him (or vice versa). He's also upsettingly alone and very self-sufficient like Jade and Kanaya were. Page because he was being used and manipulated by the Other... but over the course of the plot he breaks free. I'm thinking about how the trauma of what happened to him caused him to splinter from Matthew into Piranesi, which is heartcoded but.... I don't think that defines his character. If anything, his memory loss is what turns him into a blank (ha.) page (ha ha.) Its not that pages don't have their aspect, its that they don't really know how to wield it and are susceptible to others using them instead. which I think is the case here. Matthew Rose Sorensen, before the events of the book, could definitely be a different classpect but that's not quite relevant anymore, nor do we have enough info to discern it. Okay im done.
