the nice thing about liking a character just off to the side of importance (naruto's substitute teacher, my favorite guy) is that while there's plenty of narrative stuff to play with for my characterization of him, people don't really care all that much unless they r weird like me and have very intense yamatofeelings

so there's also not like. a Group Consensus Yamato in collective minds bc people just do not think about him all that much. this is probably largely bc kishimoto just like. totally removed him from any narrative autonomy/weight

#this is also why i dont really have any unpopular yamato opinions...if there's a popular opinion abt him! i don't know about it!#the other yamato enthusiasts ive met have all been v chill too...i'm sure very many people disagree with some or all aspects #of my characterization of him...but that's fine! i disagree with many other yamato characterizations as well. its normal #there's no one right interpretation of a character bc we fundamentally all bring our own experiences to the reading #its also especially good i think bc theres a lot to disagree with about yamato #he is not a character who espouses his own feelings at great length aside from. i suppose. one exception
