this is kinda a wild theory but i think in the US there's a whole generation of people that were raised by parents who would tell them No all the time and when they asked why, the parents would just say "bc i said so!!" so now you have a buncha 20 somethings who when you say "hey this thing you're doing isnt so good for you!" their first reaction is to go "nuh UH and im gonna do it anyway just to spite you!!!!!!" like bro calm down im literally just trying to look out for you
