For the ship ask game: 4, 10, 21, 39 for korrasami!
4 - First impression of each other? Was it love at first sight?
Oh I love their canon first impression. Asami’s like “omg I’ve heard so much about you!” and Korra is over there, thinking “who is this bitch?”
Deffo not love at first sight lol but that’s what I love about them. Korra made a snap judgement based on Asami being with the guy she liked whereas Asami had nothing but good intentions. I think she liked Korra from the very beginning and all of Korra’s distaste was due to jealousy. Still funny. Reminds me of Project Voicebend lol.
10 - Who drives? Cooks? Does the handiwork? Cleans? Pays the bills? Handles the public?
I think the who drives is pretty obvious haha. Try as she might Korra can’t master the element of driving and Asami has much love for her but no patience when it comes to her Satomobiles. They’re both too busy to cook and not very good at it, though Korra is somewhat better but only with Water Tribe dishes and what she learned from Pema. They’re both good with handiwork, Korra because she can literally manipulate all the base elements and Asami by nature of being a mechanic. Again, servants mostly clean but out of the two Asami is more neat. Since Korra’s job is saving the world it’s mostly up to the CEO of a megacorporation to pay the bills haha, and they’re both in the public eye plenty so there’s no escaping that.
21 - Do they share any interests or hobbies?
Hmm, nothing particular comes to mind. I think they’re just so busy and all of Asami’s hobbies are pretty much her work. They do share interests though but it’s more general, like feeling a deep responsibility for the world. They represent different aspects of the world in many ways so they as people are different but introduce each other to new things.
39 - Who initiated the relationship? Who kissed who first?  When did they realize they were in love?
Ah see what’s fun but also kinda tragic about the way Korrasami came to be, under censorship, is that we don’t have answers to these. I guess technically Korra canonically initiated by asking Asami out to the Spirit World and in the comics their first kiss is entirely mutual. It was a “the world is safe now let’s finally do this” moment for both.
What I do have strong feelings on is that Asami was the first to realize she was in love. The comics canonized that she had her big oh moment when Korra got hurt at the end of book 3. I think Asami already fancied her throughout that season but it was a common HC that she realized she loved Korra in 3x13. She spent the next four years angsting about it. And again it’s canon that Korra came to the same conclusion during her time away. To pinpoint exactly, I think it was when she decided that her one (1) letter that made it back to Republic City would be to Asami.
I guess technically the answer for both of them could be the time jump but yeah Asami first and Korra gradually during that time period.

Tis i 🐱 anon I’ve been Mia for a bit lol. But I had the idea of Dabi with an assassin reader that was either 1) recruited into LOV or (2) was sent to kill Dabi but fell in love etc. whenever you can pls ily thank you ❤️
From Cindy:  🐱 anon! I love you ♥♥ And I missed seeing you in my inbox. I’m sorry it took me a bit to get to this request. I’ve been busy due to the holidays. My sister stayed at my house for a few days and we watched the entire first three seasons of Haikuu. lol Now she’s obsessed too *evil laughter* Anyway, I really hope you like how this came out. It might take a turn you don’t expect.
Bullseye (Dabi x Assassin!Reader)
The name of the extraordinary ability you had been born with was documented on the government’s official quirk registry list as “true aim.” It was a simple, yet accurate title for the power which allowed you to hit any target with pinpoint accuracy. No matter what, you never missed the spot you were aiming for as long as you had a clear path. The only drawback was that you had to be within twenty feet of the target. Anything further than that began to lose detail and required something greater than perfect 20/20 vision.
When your quirk had first manifested, you’d been pretty excited to think of all the creative ways and situations in which such a power could be used, even though the adults around you were quick to point out that most of your ideas would be considered illegal by the suffocating and suppressive laws enforced in your country. Such restricting rules had instantly rubbed you the wrong way, and that slight irritation had grown into full blown resentment by the time you’d graduated high school with the reputation of being a trouble maker. Your teachers and other authority figures never seemed to appreciate the way you dared to question the way things were, or that you constantly tested your boundaries by trying to get away with using your quirk in any given situation.
Your refusal to conform to rules made it difficult to get into a college or even hold a job. You even ended up getting banned from several bars and sports centers for having an unfair advantage against other people playing darts or other precision games. The discrimination drove you to look for the freedom and acceptance you craved in less respectable parts of your city. It was in some back alley pub where you’d met a crooked broker named Giran. He sympathized with your situation right away and convinced you that if people were going to villainize you no matter how you used your quirk, you might as well live up to the exaggerated and often times false accusations made against you.
The partnership began with small crimes, but grew more serious as time went by. However, it had still been quite a shock the first time Giran asked you to take care of a hit that had been put on some random scum bag who’d done some bad business with a different random scum bag. Your hesitation waned after seeing the reward money and you accepted the job. The power of your quirk in combination with the black market weapons you’d received from Giran made completing the task a piece of cake. You got a thrill from the easy money, and decided you’d take more jobs like that from then on. Reports of your assassinations spread until you’d earned the nick name “Bullseye” by the press. By the time Giran offered introduce you to a member of the League of Villains, you’d already made it onto the country’s most wanted list.
“Well, if it isn’t the infamous ‘Bullseye” everyone’s been talking about.” The moment your eyes landed on Dabi, you began questioning Giran’s judgement for the very first time since you’d met him. You didn’t like making assumptions about people based on appearance, but there was something about the fire villain’s presence that put you on edge right from the get-go.
“A pleasure to make your acquaintance,” you nod politely. “You must be Dabi.”
The recruitment process was a little tedious. Dabi asked a lot of personal questions about your goals and motivations which seemed weird coming from a guy who left piles of burnt corpses around the city. It wasn’t the questions themselves that gave you pause though, it was the taunting little comments he made at your answers, and the lazy smirks he gave you every now and then. There was something about the intense look in his half lidded blue eyes that got under your skin as well. It was like he was trying to rile you up. But even though you weren’t a diehard follower of Stain or anything like that, your skills as a killer allowed you to pass the interview, earning you a spot in the League of Villains.
The weird feelings you had about Dabi only increased as you spent more time with him on missions and at the hideout. The way his eyes lingered on you always gave you chills, and certain things he said lingered in your mind until you couldn’t focus on anything else. You tried your best to ignore him, but sometimes you lost your patience and ended up bickering with him about the stupidest things.
“Can you try to control your fire please?” You’d tell him irritably. “I can’t do my job if I can’t see where I’m aiming.”
“Sure thing, doll.” His answer just irked you more due to the mocking undertones in his voice.
“And do you really have to monologue for your victims every single time?” you snap. “You’re such a drama queen!”
“Oh, would you rather I focus all my attention on you?” the playful glint in his eyes does weird things to your heartrate and all your pent up feelings finally come to a boil. Keeping a cool head was important for you, especially as an assassin, but Dabi had gotten on your last nerve.
“I swear I’m going to actually murder you!” you say through clenched teeth. “Every time I look at your face I feel sick to my stomach. Your eyes and smirk invade my thoughts and drive me to distraction! You’re annoying comments make me feel like I’m actually on fire, and I really just want to punch you in the face.”
Dabi’s blue eyes go wide and he stays silent for a moment as your words sink in. Then, slowly, he’d make an expression you’d never seen grace his face before… an actual genuine smile.
“Wow,” he says while shaking his head. “Do you even hear yourself? You’re even more emotionally constipated than I am.”
“What do you mean by that?” you ask and the way his gaze softens threatens to trigger your fight or flight response.
“Do you want to punch me?” He asks seriously, “Or do you want to kiss me?”
“What?” of course the mere suggestion sounds ludicrous for a moment, but suddenly your thoughts shift and everything clicks into place. His eyes and smirk didn’t give you a stomachache, it gave you butterflies. And your reaction to his teasing comments wasn’t real rage at all, you were just flustered. All the pieces meshed together and formed a conclusion in your head. “I have a crush on you.”
“Oh?” He was surprised that you’d make such a bold statement after misreading your own feelings for so long.
“And yeah,” you say with a weird amount of resolution, “I think I do want to kiss you.”
A victorious look blooms in Dabi’s eyes and that obnoxious smirk spreads across his face. He opens his arms and beckons you to come towards him. “Well, come on then doll,” he coos. “Don’t keep me waiting.” You let out a sigh and narrow your eyes at him.
“But I think I’m still going to punch you first.”

ship it or rip it - elite edition
thanks for bringing the concept and tagging me @b-bachman!! (instructions here) and providing a much more fun use of my time than listening to my online classes
this is long af so if you wanna know my opinions on three randomly generated ships, keep reading. but you’ve been warned.
1. carla/guzmán (@ everyone i know who likes them, probably skip this part.)
god no. just, absolutely not. i can’t even express how much i hate this idea and how i will forever be grateful that didn’t happen on the show. carla/guzmán might as well be the most obvious and predictable ship that they could do, popular but not *extremely* bitchy ice queen with the golden boy jerk who actually has a heart of gold if you dig like 78 layers under the surface. (no.)
aside from me just hating the concept (because i can acknowledge that ester and miguel would probably have good chemistry), if we look at it from the character viewpoint, they just don’t work. i’ll often contrast with guzmán/lu, who, in some way, have potential as a pairing (unlike these two). carla hates being told what to do, whereas guzmán’s entire life purpose is to meddle in and judge every single one of his friends’ decisions. unlike lu, carla isn’t even a little bit attracted to that kind of controlling nature, mostly because she likes to control people herself. however, guzmán isn’t the kind of “fun” opponent who is challenging or different in some way (you know who i’m talking about); he’s just the opponent whose cockiness with a hint of chauvinism would probably make her commit a completely unaccidental murder sooner than polo could say trophy.
also, lu enjoys confrontation and theatrics, which is why she can put up with guzmán and the explosive fights. she seeks out arguments and conflict. carla and guzmán would be just as toxic and prone to crash as guzmán with lu, though for different reasons. guzmán is much more conservative, elitist and judgemental than carla (another reason why guzmán and lu can work - they have that in common). but carla, unlike lu, hates loud confrontation and when people (including herself) lose their cool. their fights would be torture for both sides - carla trying to keep it cool, guzmán yelling and getting even more frustrated that carla’s not reacting in the way he wants. her probably actually snapping at some point. guzmán’s second name is anger issues. need i say more?
my last point is, carla’s literally bored of her pre-lined life in the first episode of the first season. if she’s bored of polo, who she can wrap around her finger with his pretty unconditional love, guzmán with his antics would 100% not be worth it. there’s not a more stereotypical “rich” character than guzmán, and carla’s sick of the golden cage and especially the people in it.
i prefer carla/polo over carla/guzmán any day, and if that isn’t telling enough, i don’t know what is.
rip it, shred it to pieces, burn it <3
(carla/guzmán hate zone over)
2. ander/guzmán
well now that’s certainly more intriguing. guzmán and ander’s friendship is.. something else. if we look away from the fact that guzmán is 120% straight (in my opinion), we have some interesting material to explore.
ander is extremely closed off and guzmán is extremely pushy. now, this would obviously cause issues, but unlike in other relationships that guzmán has, ander doesn’t let guzmán tell him what to do and stands by his opinions (he always talked to the poor kids despite guzmán’s dislike). sometimes, he even manages to get through to guzmán, probably because the times he speaks are so extremely rare that whenever he does, it captures everyone’s attention. so, at least in terms of equality, this ship isn’t doomed.
they are probably doomed, just like their friendship, in the way that their personalities are polar opposites. ander never tells anyone ANYTHING, which guzmán absolutely hates. but in some strange way, guzmán could *kinda* view that as compelling; probably if they didn't know each other and he tried to pursue him (yes, my imagination is going wild.) that’s how it started with nadia. on the show, guzmán is extremely protective with ander, and always tries to find out what’s going on and support him. i’m not saying it’s a great technique and it doesn’t work most of the times on the show, but in the end, people who bottle up their emotions sometimes need this exact thing to be done to them, so that they’ll finally open up.
would they work long-term? probably (99%) not. but they could try.
i could ship them with the right story
3. rebeka/nadia
fun! their s2 friendship was cute. again, they’re polar opposites, but only on the outside. personality-wise, they’re actually pretty similar (they’re both really honest, which is a great base, and even their senses of humour work together as seen in s2), except rebeka is way more chill. which would be good for the relationship - somebody needs to calm down the waters (or something). bring a stressed out nadia a cup of tea. neither of them are big fans of rich people, so that works in their favour as well. rebeka would be the one to help nadia get out of her shell, and nadia would repay her with sincerity and loyalty.
they had a good friendship, so if a more open-minded and bi nadia was a thing?
ship it

Alien Affections - Villainous/Reader - Chapter 1
The roof of Black Hat manor was alive with moving equipment and a single living being. The stars were vivid in the sky and the twilight had long since darkened into the late night. Yet, the man on the roof was hard at work. Moving around machinery and a large metal crate. Placing said crate next to a glowing green, gun-like mechanism that was aimed toward the vast starry sky. The man grunted as he sat down some pieces of equipment next to the large metal crate. Wiping away the sweat that had gathered on the surface of his bag from the effort, he observed the control station that he had set up. A couple of machines had been placed around the rooftop. Beeping and humming, while also producing various data-related information on the experiment that was currently taking place. Each respective machine all hooked up to the gun-like mechanism, recording and exchanging information. The masked man observed the station and sighed in relief, now that all of the heavy lifting was over and done with. Thankfully, he couldn't feel the coldness of the atmosphere that was around himself. It being on the back end of the cold season. The heavy lifting was keeping him warmer than usual. He blinked when one of the machines began to beep. Signalling it had finished fetching the information that he required. Which was the environmental feedback data that was necessary to execute the project. With some pressings of a few buttons on a box-like machine, it began to revise the data it received. A noisy beeping came from the box-like machine, as it flicked on some lights and began to collect data from the planets' satellites. Then, it expelled the data out of a slot on it's side. All printed out like a receipt. The man tore the printed paper away from the slot and reviewed it. He also picked up the chart that was left off to the side. Analyzing it with careful eyes as he processed the information on both of the pamphlets. It appeared to be a good day for hunting meteorites! As the recording data that came from the box-like machine stated that the radar had detected some asteroid belts some lightyears over in the next cosmic region. Perfect ones that were ripe for the picking. Some were of very reasonable sizes too! Yet, why was this insane-sounding project currently being worked on by a lone man on the roof of a building that was shaped like a top hat? Simple, really. His boss wanted some meteorites to sell to villains as power sources. Despite the mans' past protest to abort said-plan to get asteroids to sell to villains. It was...a pretty one-sided decision. -- The double doors to a dimly lit office were slowly opened to reveal a man. He was dressed in a lab coat with a blue shirt with a plane that was broken in two halves, some typical blue jeans, with red and white sneakers. Yet, the man had a very peculiar item on his head that covered his face. As He was wearing a paper bag with goggles that covered his entire head. He cautiously ventured into the dark room, wary about his surroundings as he approached a desk that was at the end of the office. The chair was apparently occupied, as a gloved hand could be seen perching off of the arm of the chair, a wine glass in its' grip, with a mysterious red fluid in it. "Uh...you wanted to see m-me, s-sir?" The man stuttered. To which the individual in the seat hummed. "It's about time you arrived, Flug. I figured you would slowly inch your way up here like a insolent little worm till I had to come fetch you myself." The chair turned around, revealing only grinning green teeth and a reflective monocle. The rest being shrouded in darkness. Causing, the now named man, Flug to jump at the view. The person in the seat sat the wine glass down on top of the desk, then laced their gloved hands together, seemingly in thought. "Do you know why I brought you here on this day, Flug?" The man in the seat asked, giving the nervous scientist a toothy smile, one that was filled with plotted mischief. "U-Uh...no, sir? You said that you had a plan---" "A plan that will be the grand scheme of ALL PLANS!" The man in the seat shouted, cutting off the skittish scientist. "Think of this, Flug. We take our inventions to the next level! A new horizon! A new goldmine that is fresh for the harvest!" The dark man trilled. "I have an idea prompt that I WANT you to make possible!" The scientist flinched under the leer of the wicked man. "U-uh! O-Okay then! So...what is it that y-you want me to do?" Flug said, nervously gripping his arm in anticipation. The menacing man grinned with his vile teeth and let out a mere chuckle. "Flug! We are going to make it our mission to acquire meteorites from space! They are the most coveted power sources a villain can have! You are going to build a machine that is capable of retrieving meteors from space! Then, we are going to sell them for high profits!" The dark man said, cackling out loud for a few seconds. Then, there was an awkward silence the followed afterward before the scientist let out a nervous laugh. "Hahahaha--ah. Very funny, sir. But, is that really all you b-brought me here for?" Flug stuttered, before catching the glare that was being thrown his way by his boss from across his desk. "Oh. You're serious?!" Flug realized. "Yes, I am very serious, you IMBECILE!" His boss snapped, causing Flug to slightly cower before he started to fidget and sputter. "But, Sir! How am I going to get meteors out of space?! I-I'm a scientist, not a miracle worker!" Flug exclaimed, to which his boss merely rolled his one visible eye. "You're intelligent. Figure it out." He waved Flug off. "Now, get to work. I want one as soon as possible!" He snapped. To which, Flug slumped over and made his way to the exit. How was he going to get meteorites from space? Ah, better late than never to start brainstorming ideas at 11PM at night. -- Eventually, Flug DID think up a way to get a full meteorite from space. It took careful statistics, judgment, accuracy, and data to make sure that his prototype would be effective enough to do the job it was supposed to. Now, featuring the gun-like mechanism that was pointed at the stars! The machine he built was going to function like a transportation ray. Days of work went into correcting and calculating this machine. Let alone building it. Using the hyper-scope attached to the top of the gun-like mechanism, it would target distant asteroid belts and meteorites, turn them into easy-to-transport particles, bring the particles back from space at warp-speed and into the reassembling box that looked like a giant metal crate with a removable lid, and then restore them back to their physical status from within the metal crate. Then, Boom! You have a meteorite in your possession! It was pure genius and it only required typical ray-based knowledge, some light physics, and excellent distant judgement. But, of course, operating the particle gun was extremely dangerous. As nothing of this degree had been produced by Flug before. Let alone, tested before. Nor built by Flug before. Flug was sure that he was pushing his own scientific limits with this particle gun. Yet, only his boss could think of doing something this abscond for Flug to do or make. If it fails, he won't be surprised. If he succeeds, he'll probably give credit to beginners' luck. At the beginning of the experiment, Flug had looked through the radar scanner and took note of where the particular belt was. Then, he had to calculate how much time and power it would require to fire into that specific area. Then, he picked out an asteroid from the radar that would be the right size to be used as a power source. Finally, he got behind the particle gun and looked through the hyper-scope, judging the precise location and using some stars to map his way into the next neighboring cosmic mass. He fired up the particle gun and spied the sector that he wanted to shoot for. Flug then calculated the trajectory and length of the journey in lightyears to the cosmic mass, to the best of his abilities, and fired a pillar of green light into the night sky from the gun-like mechanism. A pillar of green light shimmers as it fades into the sky. Pixel-looking bits would flicker in and out of the ray as it grew stronger and stronger. The light blast sped off into space at a rapid pace that even impressed Flug himself, to which, he got out from behind the particle gun and hurried over to his equipment. Observing the lights' journey as it already breached the atmosphere and headed off into the direction of the distant asteroid belt. It was a successful launch. Yet, Flug waited anxiously. Watching the radar capture the light breaching past the known planets in their solar system. It was nothing but a mere green streak across the empty void of space. Yet, the sights of the ray might raise questions in both heroes and villain communities alike, maybe even inspire conspiracy theorist. Regardless of what others thought, Flug watched his project work its' scientific wonders. His unseen mouth cracked up into a big smile as he watched the particle gun do its' thing. He was proud of himself. Well...he felt like that, anyway. --- The beam of the gun took only 30 minutes to reach the distant asteroid belt. All while Flug collected data of the journey and observed from homebase. Even if it wasn't his primary field of research, he couldn't help but become intrigued with his current project. Recovering distant asteroids could broaden the world of science as a whole, if this was made for a different reason other than for the profit of his boss, of course. Yet, this experiment has a high chance for failure. And if he fails to bring back a meteorite...his boss won't be a very happy man. Well, he never is. Unless it involves money, scheming, or villainous actions, of course. But, that's just his boss on a normal day. Failure to deliver a meteorite to his boss can cause a lot of stress on Flug. And, sadly, he probably won't succeed and get punished for his failure. Which terrified Flug. But, who can blame him? Even as a scientific genius, he still had limits on what his expertise can do! Like he said, he's a scientist and an inventor, not a miracle worker! Yet, so far at least, everything has gone smoothly. The beam didn't flicker out and it was actually traveling across space at an impressive speed and collision was nearing. If Flug was optimistic about this project, he would probably say that it is the first successor of its' kind. It kinda...warmed his heart to think that he would be able to make a particle ray that could transport asteroids across the vast emptiness of space. That would just make his year. But, just as Flug was getting his hopes up that everything was going to go fine, something went horribly wrong immediately after the beam collided with something. Emergency beeping startled Flug out of his admiration stupor and sent him reeling as he began to attempt to observe the radar, ignoring the beeping and errors that were popping up everywhere. Flug was surprised at what he was witnessing being recorded on his data transmitter. The beam had apparently missed the asteroid belt that he was aiming for and it had collided with another foreign object within the same galactic cluster instead. Strangely enough, Flug didn't see any other objects out there. The asteroids were hard enough to spot as they were! He hurriedly attempted to detect what the beam had collided with. But, the sudden collision jump-started the transportation process. As it began to break down what it collided with into tiny particles and started to transport them back to the restoration box. Worse yet, the particle gun began to overheat from the exertion of pressure from the particles that it was trying to transport. Apparently, something within the particles was causing the engine to strain much more than usual. Yet, that shouldn't be possible! As Flug made the machine as strong as he could make it in such a short amount of time as two weeks. Smoke bellowed out from the machine as it transported the particles back. Sparking and vibrating to a violent extent as the particles passed through the filter, which only seemed to make it worse. Everything began to spark, even the side equipment that recorded the data began to go haywire! It caused Flug to take a few cautious steps back away from the machines. Shielding his fragile paper bag from the sparking mechanisms and smoking electronic pieces. Being a prototype and the first machine to be used this way, Flug was pretty much expecting this outcome, even if it did succeed. Yet, he wasn't expecting this level of violent reactions! Flug panicked as he began to mentally tally his options of survival for himself or his research. He quickly made his decision. Rather than trying to save the invention and risk his life doing so, Flug ran over to the hatch that lead to the roof and took cover in there instead. From his hiding point, he could see the particles had finished returning. Passing through the final filter before emptying out into the reassembling crate. After the particles were successfully transported from space to the crate, the particle gun suddenly started to alarm with flashing red lights and errors, the smoke turning a inky black and bellowing out of the machines on the roof. Flug slammed the hatch to the roof shut and crouched down in the entry way, covered his ears through the paper bag, and braced himself for the inevitable explosion. It took only a few seconds for the particle gun to suddenly catch fire, then everything suddenly lit up in a bright white light and an explosion erupted. The medium explosion caused a miniature sonic boom to erupt, causing the top hat shaped manor to vibrate and rattle, the crashed plane that was stuck in the roof to become slightly more crooked, the surrounding streetlights to flicker, woke up some neighbors from their slumbers, and caused a nearby dog to start barking madly at the sudden loud noise. To which, all that was left on the roof was raining burnt debris and shattered mechanical parts that were whole no more. -- Flug coughed violently as he opened the hatch that lead to the roof and was immediately confronted by inky black smoke. He attempted to clear the smoke out of his vision by waving his marigold gloved hands around to part the smoldering cloud that was hovering in front of the entry way. Upon leaving the safe haven that was the entry way, he peered over all of the destruction that now littered the rooftop. Which was covered in smoldering pieces of metal, sparking wires, and broken machinery. He inspected the rooftop to see if there was any type of damage to the roof, thankfully, there appeared to be no holes or cracks in the sturdy material that made up the house. Yet, as much as he dreaded it, he looked over to the machine that once worked like a charm. To which it came as no surprise to see the particle gun in shambles on the roof. Each piece either broken beyond repair or burnt to a crisp. Two weeks worth of labor. Utterly destroyed and wasted. Flug let out a disappointed sigh. "I knew this wouldn't work." Flug grumbled as he brushed his path clear of debris. Moving some broken machinery out of the way with his sneaker. He looked back toward his invention, which now laid in smoldering pieces on the roof, and sighed. Yet, when he looked over to the crate, expecting it to also be in shambles, he was surprise and glad to see that the crate was still in one piece. It was charred black from the explosion on the roof. But, the steel held out and kept it whole! Even after all of that hard work, he probably still had a meteorite! Even if his prototype particle gun invention exploded, he probably, and hopefully, still has a meteorite that will probably save him from his boss's wrath! Flug sighed out in brief relief. At least all of that hard work had not been for nothing! Walking over some smoking and smoldering metal, he approached the crate with great care. Then, he carefully laid his yellow gloves onto the removable lid and attempted to lift it. It was almost welded shut from the heat, but he kept pulling and the metal was slowly being pried apart. So he kept trying to remove the lid on the crate. Grunting as he did so, yet, he suddenly started to hear what sounded like...groaning? And it was coming from...inside the reassembling crate...? Quickly halting all of his movement, Flug stopped to listen for the sound. Then, he heard it as clear as a summer day. "Uuuugggnnnh..." Flug felt his eyes widen in pure surprise. Yes. Something was GROANING inside the crate. Astonished and unsure, he decided to preform a short experiment just to make sure he was not going mad after all of these years, as he folded up his hand up into a fist and knocked on the lid. Then, he pressed his unseen ear to the lid, listening intently. A quiet moment of silence passed by. It was silent for a certain period of time that Flug started to suspect that he was just hearing things.
. . . . . Then suddenly, a knocking sound was heard coming from within the crate itself. Knock, Knock, Knock! Flug jumped back, as if the lid itself had burned him. He was speechless at the returned knocking. His mind began to jump to any logical explanations on how something in the crate was knocking back at him. Yet, all he seemed to do was confuse himself and second-guess his own ways of logic or reality. "What the-!?" He gasped. 'This...! This shouldn't be possible!' He thought, trying to control his reeling mind.
He was sure that the beam went into the sky! There was NO WAY that he managed to. . .unless. A silent idea creeped into his mind. The thought of extraterrestrial life living within that galaxy cluster made Flug want to sputter and brush off the notion. It just wasn't plausible...was it? Could he have accidentally hit...a planet? With life on it? Intelligent life?! He could feel his heart racing as the thought of creatures with many eyes, mouths, and limbs came into his mind. The thought of creatures made of fire, transparent skin, stardust, glass-like substances, and even scales crossed his imagination. Bipeds, Quadrupeds, Tripeds, and Alien Morphs passed through his brain. Just...what did he get? What would it look like? Would it be instinctively driven or abstractly driven? Intelligent or...? Would it...eat him or attack him if he let it out of the crate? Shit, he hoped not! But, he has to let it out of there some time.
Flug, now sweating from looming anxiety and fear, grabbed the top of the crate again. He took a deep breath while squeezing his eyes shut, and lifted the lid.
.  .  .
Flug was confused, but thankful, that nothing had jumped out of the crate and mauled him or began to devour him. Opening his eyes, Flug then peered into the crate, curiosity overwhelming his fear. What he saw made Flugs' mental gears suddenly ground to a sudden halt.
"What...?" Flug said in disbelief as he saw another. . .human?
Inside of the crate was another, seemingly normal, human being. They were in what appeared to be a grey T-shirt with an Alien symbol on it, along with some black pants that had UFO's on them. They're clothes also seemed to glow in dark as the darkness within the crate seemed to show that very vividly. Producing more light to illuminate their features. To which Flug began to notice the major differences on this...peculiar human.
Flug blinked, they seemed homosapien. . .but different from the ones that Flug has seen all of his life.
Their features were softer and their eyes were friendlier-looking. They were also laying down on their back with a completely relaxed posture. Despite the situation that they were currently in, they held a relaxed expression. Even when looking at him, all they did was arch an eyebrow at him.
Flug must admit, if he saw this person walking around, he probably would be suspicious of their differences. Or he would probably just think they were a really weird-looking foreigner. Definitely not what he was expecting from an...alien. Yet, even if they were lackluster, he was still surprised to see them within the crate.
He locked eyes with the "person" in the crate once more. His voice still gone from disbelief.
A few awkward seconds passed between him and the alien. To which, a staring contest ensued. .
.
. The alien then gave a friendly smile towards Flug. Waving at him slightly with one hand. "S'up?" The 'human' in the crate spoke up as they smiled and looked at him. "I came in pieces. Take me to your leader." They spoke, holding up their hands in mock-surrender. Laughing all the while at their sub-par joke. Much to the surprise, and slight distaste, of Flug.
Flug could only gulp in fear in response.
Oh, his boss was NOT going to like how this experiment turned out... ------------------------------------------------------ Next>

Musings of An Otaku #8- On Pokemon Photographs & 25 years
The 25th Anniversary of Pokemon is upon us! 25 years! I remember watching the phenomenon unfold as it came state-side. I saw a simple advertisement in the late Disney Adventures magazine or it could have been a Nintendo Power. I had subscriptions to both back in the day and lord knows my memory is not as good as it used to be. It was for the release of the anime on American television. Or thinking back on it, it could have been for the games. It really did not decipher much. Plain white page with a giant Pokemon logo on top. The slogan “Gotta Catch ‘Em All” printed under the logo and images of various generation 1 Pokemon sprawled under that. That was the entire advertisement. Nothing else. No start date, no coming soon, no channel, no information, no synopsis, no console. I remember looking at it with a raised eyebrow and was like, “What is this?” With no other information, I flipped the page and moved on.
Then all the news reports started piling in and commercials started playing over the television. It became more predominant in Nintendo Power- with story revealed, games confirmed for English release and yada yada yada. The entire seizure issue went on and of course the American media jumped on that hype like white on rice. Because of course the anime was being released shortly after on American television.
Watched the series and watched it pretty religiously. Hated that they edited out small things here and there because god forbid Team Rocket pulls out a gun or James cross-dresses in a bikini and has inflatable boobs! NOT INFLATABLE BOOBS! AND OMG YOU CAN NOT FORGET ABOUT THE JELLY FILLED DOUGHNUTS! *face palm* Being into Japanese anime, tokusatsu and manga- even I knew that those were rice balls. WHAT IS WRONG WITH RICE BALLS?!? Silly Americans. It’s as bad as saying that sake is medicine in Power Rangers Samurai but we shall not go into THAT one- even with a 10-foot pole. IMHO, Saban totally shat on Samurai Sentai Shinkenger and walked away laughing.
Back to Pokemon. I ended up watching the anime till the Orange Islands. Basically when Brock left and Tracy came in- I stopped. The anime was repetitive. Every episode featured the same premises- Ash travels to a location, Ash finds a Pokemon, Ash tries to catch Pokemon and fails, Team Rocket has some crazy-ass scheme to try and catch Pikachu and fails, Ash tries to beat Gym Leader but Gym Leader feels sorry for Ash and just gives him said badge and repeat process over and over again for however many said episodes. I moved on to other anime series.
Game wise- yes, I started with Pokemon Red for the original Game Boy. I didn’t play it on the brick sized system- no, I had a Game Boy Color. However, the game was not in color. It was the same pea-green pixelated game as other Game Boy game releases at the time. It was not till the release of Pokemon Yellow- Pikachu edition that I was able to see the Pokemon game world in color. Since I started with Red I went with Charmander as my starter. I enjoyed the game. Loved being able to traverse all over the Kanto region, catch different Pokemon, evolve them, unlock the mysterious behind certain areas and try to collect all the gym badges. I had all 3 Legendary birds and Mewtwo as well.
With the games and anime series out on American shores, of course the trading card game was next. I was not big into playing card games (and to this day- still not a big fan). Only card games I play are either Cards Against Humanity or UNO. I collected the Pokemon cards to just collect them. I still have them- somewhere. In a closet, in a box...somewhere.
Promotions were also a big thing. In honor of the series in general- Pokemon teamed up with KFC here in the states. Oh yeah, Pokemon and fried chicken. Odd combination but whatever. Needless to say, I had an entire set of the KFC plushies. Still do, found them not too long ago! For the first movie release, Burger King had kids meals and 23K Gold plated Pokemon Cards in collectable Pokeballs. Still have all of those and the infamous Pokeballs that the toys came in. The same Pokeballs that were recalled because some stupid parent was not watching their toddler and the toddler ended up suffocating itself with it. WATCH YOUR DAMN KIDS PEOPLE! The damn toy wasn’t even for that age group. I sure as HELL was not surrendering all those hard earned Pokeballs just to have them thrown away. Nope. Nope. Nope. Plus, I wasn’t stupid enough to stick things in my mouth that shouldn’t have been in my mouth. Needless to say, all the Burger King kids meal toys are still inside those plastic Pokeballs.
This was around the time of the first movie release- which I already went into quite a long musing about already. In fact that was the very first musing of an otaku that I posted. I will not go into it again. I am moving on.
In fact I am jumping forward to the N64 era and the release of the Pokemon Snap N64 game. My sister and I got the N64 bundle that game with an Atomic Purple controller and the Pokemon Snap game. Yes, we were a little late to the N64 party. I believe we spent an entire week playing that game and then never picked it up again. The concept was awesome. Take photographs of various Pokemon in different environments. Valleys, forests, rivers, caves, etc. Simple enough. Use food to lure Pokemon out of hiding and snap pictures. The best pictures were sent off to the Professor. Okay, sure. It sounded like it was going to be an awesome game. Not so much. It was a rail-shooter. I absolutely HATE rail-shooters. I HATE being stuck on a predetermined path. I like to explore! I like going into every single nook and cranny of an area. This is why the game only kept my attention for a week.
The newest trailer for the New Pokemon Snap for the Nintendo Switch was just revealed. I had so much hope and hype for this new version. I wanted it to be an open-world environment. I wanted to be able to walk around, maybe sneak up on Pokemon and snap pictures of them in the wild. Kinda like, how you would have to take pictures of animals and birds in the wild in real life. Being able to hide in grass or behind a tree or even in a tree to snap some pictures. You could crawl around in the environment and try hard not to make any noise at all to scare off the Pokemon. Weather patterns could play a role and could change with each play through. Different weather could trigger different Pokemon. What about seasons? I’m sure you would see different Pokemon during the fall then you would the spring. You could still use food to lure Pokemon out. Maybe have a town or village to go back to and have side-quests where people ask you to collect photographs of a certain Pokemon they are looking for or sell photographs to newspapers or whatever. Well, after watching the trailer- that dream and hope got shot in the ass. I saw the vehicle and got disappointed. Once again it will be a rail-shooter. Same concept as the original N64 version. Not an open world. *sighs* I understand having an open world environment can be a resource hog, but I think it would make the game even better. Kinda put a new spin on things. Make people want to stay interested in the game and play it longer then say...a week.
Granted, I am just basing this judgement on what can be seen throughout the trailer. I was not impressed with this trailer at all. The game isn’t even out yet. It will not be out until March of this year. In a couple months. Will my thoughts and opinions stay the same after it is released? Will it change? Who knows. I enjoyed the Resident Evil Village Showcase preview trailer 100x more than I did this Pokemon Snap trailer. In fact, it is also the 25th Anniversary for this series as well. Possible muse coming later (maybe after the RE8 showcase on the 21st).
With Pokemon still going strong, it will be safe to say that it will be around for another 25 years! Stay strong Pokemon fans and trainers!

Just for my own curiosity as I’m sure there’s many more posts appearing while I google
Tumblr media
https://www.instagram.com/p/BXlco5ig_ZQ/
That’s The High Priestess at the top, the Hanged Man to the left, the 3 of Pentacles to the right, the King of Cups sideways on top of the 10 of Pentacles, upside down, in the middle, and the Hermit at the bottom. All the cards except the middle ones are the right way up.
We can assume this is from 13x03 and probably being done by a real and probably friendly psychic, either Patience herself or Missouri, or a side character. It may not have a great deal of relevance to the main plot in context, unless someone's specifically asked for a reading.
I'm going to assume for now it's about Patience, but can have secondary metaphorical application to the main plot, as per everything.
This looks like the shape: http://www.simplytarot.com/tarot-spreads/celtic-cross-tarot/
Tumblr media
Trustedtarot.com tells me the basic meanings:
1: Situation
The card in this position should draw the Reader to the heart of the matter, the central situation.  It won’t reveal all the different aspects thereof but provides the focal point of  the reading.  A Reader should use this card as the basis for the rest of the reading and refer back when interpreting the cards around it.
Ten of Pentacles's Meaning Your financial security and emotional well-being are both positively indicated by the presence of this card in your spread. This is only partially your own doing, however, as these positive aspects are inextricably bound up in your close relationships with friends and family. It may also foretell an inheritance.
Patience has inherited Missouri's psychic powers. If these are just coming to her, then this seems to be the card to say what's going on with her.
2: Conflict
Here, the chosen card will show where conflict is generated in the situation referred to in the first card.  In our experience, this card can help to clarify any uncertainty in the first card drawn.  It appears that people are more easily able to recognise areas of conflict as opposed to the general situation at hand. So, if there has been difficulty interpreting the first card, try backtracking to see if the Subject is now able identify with its meaning.
King of Cups's Meaning The King of Cups is the worldly and calm projection of authority. Find him in your spread is most likely a reference to someone else who will aid you in achieving your goals. This person may seem unconcerned, even distant, but their motivations are pure. Whatever advice they give will be important to you and should be considered in your own deliberations. If it does refer to you, personally, it shows an inner strength and tightly disciplined control of emotions.
perhaps this explains how Missouri behaves towards Patience. We know she can be harsh and abrasive, as she talked very sharply to Dean. But she did help them and mean well the entire time. Her personality seems to be a part of the conflict then, especially if she and Patience haven't been in contact, I guess this would be difficult for her to connect to a grumpy Missouri. :P
3: Mind
Remember that the thoughts of any person are based on their interpretation of a situation rather than fact.  It is prudent to investigate where the meaning of this card differs to cards in positions that show what is actually happening.  These would be the Situation, Conflict and Now positions.  This can give the Reader the ability to put the Subject’s mind at ease or, conversely, to advise them to think more carefully about the consequences of their actions.
For example if the 9 of Swords appeared in the Mind position, but other cards are positive, it is likely that the Subject is worrying too much about something that really isn’t as bad as it they fear it will be.
The High Priestess's Meaning Your identification with the High Priestess suggests you possess inherent good judgment, in the form of strong intuition. She may indicate that reason should take second place to instinct. Your head must trust in the wisdom of your heart for a change. Yet, she is also an aide by nature, and her presence in certain parts of your spread could be indicative of someone close to you coming to your rescue with their own intuition. Intuition is most effective at seeing what is hidden to the senses, so the High Priestess may also come as a warning of concealed facts or influences that are, or will be, important to you.
That sounds like a good cold open between Patience and Missouri, lol. I'd guess Patience's judgement and reading of the situation is going to be important, especially if she's in conflict with Missouri.
4: Driver
This position shows us how the Subject has arrived at the place they are.  It shows what influences or events have motivated the Subject and, maybe, why the person is behaving the way they are.
This card is crucial to unlocking the reading and being able to understand what has motivated the Subject.  For example, a bad or sad event may have led them onto a path of self destruction and just being able to help them understand and accept this could be the key to them moving on.  Likewise, if it shows enthusiasm for an endeavour it can remind the Subject why they embarked on the pursuit in the first place, giving them fresh energy to carry on.
The Hermit's Meaning There are times in every life, when one must step back and make a careful examination of their situations and decisions. Finding the Hermit in your spread suggests this is just such a time for you. You are in need of a period of inner reflection, away from the current demands of your position. This retreat can be physical, or a search within. Only a deep and honest introspection will lead to a solution, however.
I'm now not totally sure if we should be applying this to Patience or Missouri, or perhaps this is explaining the conflict some more, even if Patience is the subject... I'm pretty sure spoilers were that they haven't been around each other much. Maybe someone is reading it FOR them or something :P Actually if Missouri hadn't been around to help Patience much, that makes sense as a absent parent relationship for Mary to her sons as a side thing. Withdrawing for introspection was where she went wrong in season 12 by removing herself from her sons and she didn't get to the deep and honest introspection before she was led onto the wrong path, and only just got a clue about the full picture in 12x22 from Dean. If Patience and Missouri are a family parallel, that could be quite interesting.
5: Past
This position will highlight people, situations or influences from the past that still have an affect on the Subject.  For example, if the Subject was hurt significantly in their last relationship it is likely that they will fear getting hurt in the same way again and this may prevent them from entering into a new one.  The card in this position may also be trying to show the Subject that they have learned a lesson in their past that will be of use to them now.
Three of Pentacles's Meaning If you can maintain a clear sense of purpose over the coming months, you are well positioned to see you hard work get the recognition it deserves. It is not guaranteed, but if you maintain your own pace, and it may tax your interpersonal skills, as you will need to rely and trust on others for the best outcome. That outcome will be worth your determination, however, not only providing material reward, but leading to a sense of lasting accomplishment.
Past The time you have spent mastering your abilities has been a smart investment. Your confidence has grown and if you continue to nurture this self-assurance, you will succeed.
This also seems like a great card to pull when you're about to join a spin off with a whole new cast of characters.
6: Future
Future events depicted by the Tarot are always subject to change by the Subject.  If their thoughts, attitudes and behaviour changes as a result of the insight provided in the reading, future events will change accordingly.  As it stands, this card will provide a snap shot of how this situation will develop in the near future if everything continues in the same vein, and those key things that will come to bear influence shortly.  Readers would benefit from assessing the Past and Future together to see how the Subject has moved forward or not.
The Hanged Man's Meaning The Hanged Man can be interpreted in two very different ways. All change is a small kind of death, as the old must die to create the new, and it may simply indicate upheaval or change in your future, perhaps beyond your control, but more likely a decision that, for good or ill, you will not be able to turn back from. The other interpretation is one of sacrifice, although whether this sacrifice is small or great may not be easily interpreted. Both interpretations imply permanence, and that you should give very careful thought to the decisions in your life.
Future Many things are unknown to you now, so you must make new goals and plan carefully. Acting at the right moment will get you ahead.
The Hanged Man was used in 11x12 for Alex (via her poor maths teacher), and she's also a Wayward Sister, with a similar meaning about change and new life on the other side of upheaval in that episode. Alex made some life choices there, which will probably be derailed to keep her around for Wayward Sisters but hey ho that will be nearly 2 seasons ago that she decided to stay out of the Life. For Patience, if she's going to join the main cast this makes me pretty worried Missouri will be the "hanged man" aka fridged character (check the way the man hangs compared to how Mary and Jess and some other fridged characters died with their leg hooked under them.) - the card is upright, but I know how this show works, and this symbolism is basically the fridged character card here in the show's language. I would HOPE this one is merely for the decision Patience will make to join her new family of Wayward Sisters.
These are all the cards we have - we're missing the other four of the reading.

1-10?
Hi there! 1-10 coming up!
1. What is the favourite of the fics you’ve written for ‘x’ fandom? (x=Teen Wolf)
So on Ao3, I've written 1 Teen Wolf fic and I'm in the process of writing the second story in that series. The favourite though has to be:
https://archiveofourown.org/works/11514186/chapters/25840173
Though, in other fandoms, I've done a few little prompts here and there, but my favourite for those has to be the Doctor Who one (Which you asked for!)
2. Favourite Piece overall?
Look above, it’s that one on Ao3.
3. Which is the hardest to write, in terms of plot?
Oh! Definitely the first story in that Teen Wolf series, it was weird and didn’t turn out exactly as I planned, and got better as time went on, but yeah. That one.
4. Which has the most ‘you’ in it?
The linked fic for Teen Wolf, and the Doctor Who Drabble. Both those, I've used snark and sarcasm a bit and puns. Man I like puns. But the Teen Wolf fic was closer, as I’m pretty similar, in personality wise, to the character of Stiles.
5. What is an image, or set of images, that you’re particularly proud of?
Sorry, I don’t quite understand what it’s asking. But I'm just gonna twist it to a fan art point of view, because that’s all I'm really thinking of in this case. With that said, it would have to be this digital drawing I did of Brendon Urie. (Bandom in this case...but yeah)
Tumblr media
6. Idea that you’ve always wanted to write, but could never make work.
Oh...that’s a toughie. I’ve had quite a few over the years (I kinda did a whole bunch of Drabble type things in my notes on my iPad before I discovered Ao3.)
Uh...so for Teen Wolf, I had a few ideas. One of them was a story where there was a new Alpha, who went for humans who knew about werewolves, and bit Stiles, but he killed her straight after, making him an alpha...blah blah blah, he doesn’t tell Scott and things get crazy.
For Agents Of Shield, I had a base idea of Fitz becoming an inhuman, but I could never really work out what to do in that matter. I always got weird results with experimenting with different time slots and whatnot.
For Doctor Who, I had just a weird idea of a new story set in season 4 of the new series, where Donna get’s lost and kidnapped by an unknown alien or something and the Doctor has to go to extreme measures to keep Donna alive and to save her. (I actually might write that one yet...tell me if I should).
7. Least favourite plot point/chapter/moment
Basically this:
"Sorry about him." Scott turned back to Alicia. "None of my pack trust you."
"Do you?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. Scott thought for a moment. Did he? "I mean, I did try and kill your friend..."
"I know...but I believe that you have good intentions." Scott smiled. Alicia's eyes lit up and she grinned.
"I know what I'm saying isn't going to make you let me go, but I hope you'll consider it." Alicia said to Scott. Scott looked at her with a look of pity.
"I'm considering giving you the bite..." Scott stated suddenly. He was a compassionate person, but sometimes his compassion blinded his judgement. So, Lydia walked down to the basement and interjected.
AKA Scott’s naivety, while easy to write, I just wanna hit myself because I know it’s so stupid.
8. Favourite plot point/chapter/moment
Basically chapter 4 of Poisonous:
https://archiveofourown.org/works/11514186/chapters/26376843
Why? Because I got to tell a backstory that I really wanted to tell. it was enjoyable for me.
9. Favourite character to write?
Stiles Stilinski, Leo Fitz and The Doctor. All three have a lot in common; Really smart, sarcastic and snarky, realists and whatnot. I love characters like that because they remind me of myself. (AKA A pragmatic, sarcastic, realist)
10. Favourite Line or Lines of dialogue you’ve written?
Basically the entire pun scene of that Doctor Who Drabble and this:
"I could always go for the more brutal method of keeping you here." Siobhan smiled. "Electricity."
"At least my mind will be off of your ugly excuse for a face." He retorted. Siobhan's smile faltered.
"Watch your mouth, Stiles." She snapped. "Or you'll face the consequences."
This entire scene (Which was a nightmare):
Scott looked at Stiles, his eyes glowing blue and his claws were out. Scott was on the floor, staring at his friend with horror, while Stiles grinned and laughed manically.
"You never even noticed, Scott." Stiles started, his words sounding slightly amused. "I was changing,  becoming someone you would have hated if you realised, and you didn't notice. Even when it was right under your nose!"
"I'm sorry." Scott gasped in fear.
"I wonder what I'd look like with red eyes..." Stiles pondered. "Do you think it would match my hands?"
Scott looked at Stiles' hands and suddenly, in a flash, they were covered in blood that was dripping from his claws. Stiles laughed and grabbed Scott by the shirt and smashed him against a tree. Scott suddenly realised they were in the preserve.
"Please, Stiles..." Scott whispered.
Stiles grinned and plunged his claws into the spot under Scott's ribs.
"Wake up!" Stiles cried out.
and this:
Stiles growled, flicking his wrist down, making his claws appear. He ran his claws over Killian's chest and watched as the older wolf howled in pain.
"What the hell is wrong with you!" Killian growled. Stiles smirked.
"Probably a lot. I should get tested." Stiles shrugged.
THANKS FOR THE ASK!

Coronavirus: Root prepared to "sit tight and wait" as Covid-19 threatens entire summer
Amongst the dubiety of the Covid-19 pandemic, Joe Delve has been enjoying whatever recognize indication at interior with his stock. His son, Alfie, is cardinal and half period old and Stabilize has been temporary the instance by uptake him utter downs. "He's around 500 for 4 at the note," the England captain jokes. "It's a bit of a scene cartroad here." Runs apparently run in the Theme home. Equivalent theologizer equivalent son.
It is a weird clip for England's Prove officer and his fellow teammates. They would love been completing the position Endeavor in Sri Lanka this week had the shift not been aborted because of the crisis. Now, same everyone else, they are cragfast in a operation of limbo, immersion on the upbeat of their families and unsure when they faculty get sanction to any form of condition.
Thankfully Form's kin are riskless and intimately at the nowadays. He has been helping his grandparents set up apps on their phones so they can stick in jot, an assay he describes, with a grin, as "challenging".
"I'm attractive this rattling seriously, disagreeable to delay indoors as much as possible, avoid impinging at all costs," he said on a Ascension word telephony with journalists. "It's pretty unsurmountable to get online shops at the careful. We're literally disagreeable to get out as short as fermentable, be prompt with what we're purchase and use. Try to be imaginative with our cooking, judgement distinct construction of using what we've got in the fridge, not symptom anything."
He has also been doing his bit to hold the NHS, announcing on Sunday (Process 29) that he has embellish a frequenter of the City Children's Infirmary. "It is something I acquire hot to get encumbered in for quite a patch now," he said. "Real lucky in Sheffield we hump that effortlessness. It is high what the NHS has finished and how they possess dealt with the situation. The company of group who love volunteered is impressive and it is very unscheduled how communities love arise unitedly.
"It is act vision how ruling it is when grouping proceed unitedly and take connection for a wondrous disposal equal the NHS. We are real lucky to screw it. We should apprize it and not interpret it for acknowledged. The pass they are doing conservative now is awing and they merit all the substantiation and anxiety they are deed. Hopefully that continues extendible after this pandemic finishes as fit."
Over the close few weeks, Base is expecting discussions to stand base near whether England players might request their substantiation in added way too and purchase a pay cut to serve improve several of the financial pressures the ECB give descend low if, as awaited, there is a considerable interruption to the flavor. Opposite sports, much as rugger north, screw already declared several of their top earners faculty determine at several repair in the reaching weeks there instrument be a treatment," Stabilize said. "But I'm also aware they are discussions that leave purchase area between the PCA and the ECB. That's not my extent of expertise. I imagine we honourable jazz to lessen on making careful we are as fit and as set to go as we can be for whenever we get game to playacting cricket."
The disruption to England's schedule is scarce the most essential moment of this pandemic but yet, Form admits he is frustrated at not existence competent to proceed the close create of the Southeastward Individual tour, which England won 3-1, at the line of the assemblage. "It is frustrative. There are many copernican things to fear ourselves with but we were preparing ourselves advantageously for the two Endeavor matches in Sri Lanka," he said. "We made big strides in Southeastern Africa. It would know been metropolis to get those games in to see if we could Stabilize, and England, acquisition to a cricket business to try and build on that travel remains to be seen. He admits that not playacting at all this season has decussate his remember. "But I guess we individual to try to slip pollyannaish," he said. "We've fair got to meet fit. Apparently can't do such in cost of existent training, hitting balls and bowling. Mightiness be that my wife has to commence giving me both bedevil downs in the hindmost garden but until things transmute that drastic it will be simply sit difficult and act."
England are due to movability Westernmost Indies and Pakistan this summer in broadcast which shape concern of the Group Effort Championship. The Sri Lanka matches carried WTC points too. If the two abode periodical cannot deal residence, just them in to an already packed schedule before the WTC Last in June incoming gathering present not be soft. England may fountainhead jazz to negotiable.
"Deed into the season, the six Endeavour matches will be important points as the national games seem to be rattling main in the Examine Championship," Structure said. "It power be that changes now wiggly presumptuous. When it comes to those games they mightiness fuck to be rescheduled, jest them abroad. I am sure there are a determine of diametric scenarios we may acquire to mature ourselves perception at trailing the billet forthcoming strike the pipe, albeit a soft way off yet, is the Ashes programme in Land in the winter of 2020/21. Signifier has begun watching The Examine, the docudrama on River Paint on the Dweller team, and admits it has precondition him reclaimable motive for the condition composer he is labor on his indoor wheel and in his garden with his dog Archie.
"A lot of the things we do in Experiment cricket revolves around planning for the Ashes periodical," he said. "We tally around 17 to 20 games until we go mastered there and humour, if all are played. We acquire to use every unary opportunity to flesh the team up to be dead ripe for what those conditions fox at us, what Continent throws at us, on the facility and off.
"You face at whatever of the guys we've brought into the squad over the sunset period or so, disagreeable to add disparate elements that gift transform in those conditions. Guys suchlike Disfigure Writer, like Olly Endocarp, hurried bowling contracts that hump arrive in to encourage guys to go out in county cricket and bowl as hurried as they can, add that X-factor to what is a talented and skilful bowling grouping that we've got at the nowadays.
"Gift us that tracheophyte, snap us something we power person lacked on preceding tours, to hands any real skilful bowlers. We've seen in Southwestward Africa, it has pioneer us a way to expend 20 wickets in international conditions. If we can hold swing experience into a name of the newborn batters as compartment, spring them gamey quantify, then we're turn to flesh at us."

Your Friday Morning Roundup
There’s about five days until the Flyers take on the San Jose Sharks in their regular season opener. And most of their lineup is set in stone.
Five different Flyers scored in the 5-1 win over the Boston Bruins, including Travis Konecny’s third of the preseason. The power play unit also went 2-for-7, which was one of the team’s weak areas throughout the preseason. Alex Lyon played the entire game in goal for the Flyers, stopping 31-of-32 shots he faced, while starter Brian Elliott was a healthy scratch. And for some reason, Nolan Patrick decided to fight.
Robert Hagg, Taylor Leier, Oskar Lindblom, Andrew MacDonald, and Michael Raffl were other notable healthy scratches for the game. Who could be safe and who might start the season in Lehigh Valley?
Let’s start at forward: I think Raffl is a lock, as well as Lindblom. Taylor Leier is an NHL-caliber player, but with Patrick and Scott Laughton in front of him, Leier might have to start in the AHL.
There a very slim chance Ron Hextall decides to send Patrick back to juniors, but I absolutely see him contributing immediately with the big club.
The defense is still uncertain. Outside of Radko Gudas, Ivan Provorov, and Shayne Gostisbehere, four spots are up for grabs. Sam Morin, Travis Sanheim, and Robert Hagg have had their share of good and bad moments this preseason, but also have MacDonald and Brandon Manning with them. Morin is a beast at 6-6 and I would love for him to finally crack the Flyers roster. Hagg is the most NHL ready out of all three, and I think I see him and Morin up with the Flyers.
I would love to never see Andrew MacDonald again, but unless a team decides they want to eat up part of his huge cap hit, he’s sticking around. Manning is the more likely candidate for a trade, which means Sanheim stays in Lehigh Valley for another year.
The preseason concludes Sunday at home against the New York Islanders at 5 pm, which is in the middle of Eagles-Chargers.
In other Flyers news, Wayne Simmonds would rather discuss the actual issues involving racial inequality instead of kneeling.
The roundup:
The Eagles continue to get ready for their game in LA against the Chargers. After filling in for Jordan Hicks in the second half of last week’s win over the Giants, Mychal Kendricks still isn’t happy with the amount of playing time he’s getting.
A year and three games into his career, Carson Wentz is already showing he’s in charge of the offense:
Sunday highlighted the significant freedoms Wentz has in operating this offense. Pederson explained that there is a “take-it system” that the coach can shift into at any point in the game where he just gives Wentz the formation and has the quarterback take it from there, the restriction being that the plays are to be pulled from that week’s game plan. The playbook is loaded with run-pass options (RPOs), allowing Wentz to make a judgement call at the line of scrimmage based on how he reads the defense.
Center Jason Kelce believes Wentz — just 19 games into his professional career — has more pre-snap authority than any quarterback he’s worked with in his seven years in the pros.
“Under Chip [Kelly] we weren’t switching in and out of things. I though Sam [Bradford] was a guy that probably could do something like this, but he just didn’t get to do that. [Michael] Vick certainly had the ability to change the play and do certain things like that. We just probably do a little more of it with Carson,” he said.
“If you have a guy who can do it and you have a guy that’s good at it, obviously being in a conducive play is huge for the offense. Having the numbers be correct on a run play, you still have to block it up when the play is called, but it definitely sets you off the right foot. You’re not running uphill, you’re running downhill at that point.”
But why is Wentz struggling with the deep ball?
Wendell Smallwood may have a chance to become a feature back for the Eagles, and he could be worth picking up in fantasy leagues.

Over in Camden, Sixers training camp continued. Markelle Fultz is experimenting with new shooting mechanics.
It might take some time until Fultz is ready to take on some of the NBA’s top talent:
“It’s two things,” Brown said. “The first is the athleticism in the men who jump you right from the get-go. It is relentless. There is no sort of unforgiving stage. It is very, very ruthless, what he’s going to experience — not so much in preseason, but when all of a sudden John Wall crawls into him, and Otto Porter’s length is alive, you realize there is an athleticism and there are men, and it catches people off-guard. And then we’re going to talk about January the 10th, and we’re going to talk about a rookie wall because of the nature of our league.”
Because of the teammates surrounding him, because of their skills, Fultz may have more room on the court than Carter-Williams did. But that doesn’t mean teams will leave him alone. Everyone around the league knows, even from just his one season at the University of Washington, that Fultz can handle the ball and shoot well enough to excel in pick-and-roll situations. Opponents will try to prevent him from creating those matchups when he’s on offense, and they’ll try to trap him in those matchups when he’s on defense.
I also love his Players’ Tribune video, where he makes fun of his draft day Instagram blunder:

Head coach Brett Brown sees some interesting qualities in Furkan Korkmaz:
“I mean, really just trying to get him defensively built, like an attitude and a mindset to try to grow him as a defender,” Brown told reporters Thursday. “He can score. He’s got a real sort of interesting body for a basketball player in his position. He’s long and he’s lanky. Years ago I coached Brent Barry (who had) sort of that bouncy, pogo stick, can shoot, can dunk (body type). I see, you know, that (Furkan) has got some real interesting qualities. The defensive side needs work. I’m always trying to help and grow him, like you would any rookie, from a defensive standpoint.”
Part of the defensive improvement comes with bulk, and Korkmaz has already added about 15 pounds to his 175 pound frame. He won’t be finishing around the rim any time soon, but he’s a tall perimeter shooter with plenty of upside depending on how he adapts to NBA physicality.
The Sixers and Nik Stauskas have not engaged in contract extension discussions.
The Phillies wrap up the regular season this weekend at home against the New York Mets. Ben Lively takes on Matt Harvey.
Odubel Herrera takes an insanely long time during his at-bats, and that might change next year:
Major League Baseball will introduce rule changes this winter to help quicken the game. Average game times this season — 3 hours, 5 minutes for a nine-inning game — are 15 minutes longer than 10 years ago. The new rules have yet to be announced, but they could force a batter to stay inside the batter’s box or even employ a clock that times when a pitch must be thrown. Herrera’s routine will have to change.
“I’ll adjust if they change the rule or if they make it a rule,” Herrera said. “I’ll adjust to it. I don’t think I have a choice there.”
In other sports news, there was a Thursday Night Football game. The Packers beat the Bears 35-14. You didn’t watch? Good, because it was bad. Example:

This was also bad, for different reasons:

And this hot mic caught the best reaction to every Thursday Night Football game.
NBA Draft reform, along with new rules on resting players, passed yesterday. Even though draft reform will give the three worst teams an equal 14% chance at the top pick, the “Sam Hinkie rule” may not stop tanking.
The league has a legitimate interest in its worst teams not feeling as if they have to get any more embarrassingly bad in order to secure improved lottery odds. The NBA does not want to relive Trust The Process, even though the architect of the most aggressive — and most coldly rational — multiyear tank job in league history was ousted precisely because of the scheme’s naked aggression. It would kindly prefer the Suns not send Eric Bledsoe home for two months; new rest regulations, also approved Thursday, may take care of that.
Reform may change team behavior on the fringes. Bledsoe types may play more. The next version of the Sixers might be more open to signing a couple of stable veterans, even at the “risk” of winning a couple more games. April basketball will be a little less bad.
Multiple NBA players have severed ties with agent Andy Miller in the wake of the FBI corruption probe in college basketball:
Los Angeles Clippers center Willie Reed filed the claim in part because of Christian Dawkins, one of the 10 people arrested on federal corruption charges on Tuesday. Dawkins was reportedly terminated by Miller and his company, ASM, in early May following a National Basketball Players Association probe into the unauthorized use of a player’s personal credit card.
However, Dawkins remained the primary ASM representative for Reed and other players, including Indiana Pacers rookie Edmond Sumner. Justin Patton of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Sumner both fired Miller since the FBI investigation became public, sources told ESPN.
But Joel will always Trust The Process:

Mets owner Fred Wilpon protected manager Terry Collins from being fired after other front office heads wanted the manager out:
People with knowledge of the situation, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, described organizational dysfunction, discord between Collins and his players, and a broken relationship between the manager and the front office.
Despite what the front office perceived as Collins’ constant tactical blunders and concerns about his relationships with the players, sources said efforts to explore a change seriously were thwarted by the elder Wilpon.
“I don’t interfere,” Fred Wilpon said while declining an interview request earlier this season.
A high school football team in Upstate New York is forfeiting their season after seven players took OxyContin before one of their games.
In a statement released Monday afternoon, Geneseo Central Schools Superintendent Tim Hayes wrote, “These dismissals stem from serious violations of the district’s Code of Conduct and Athletic Eligibility Standards.”
“Due to the sheer number of student-athletes involved and the serious nature of this incident…, the remainder of the varsity football season will be forfeited,” wrote Hayes.
During a late afternoon press conference, Hayes said the decision was painful because it also affected several players and families who were innocent and had done nothing wrong.  Some of those innocent players, said Hayes, had come forward to report the drug use.  However, Hayes explained the number of students involved made it impossible to field enough players to continue the varsity football program this year.
