I think one of the (many) reasons I like Invincible so much is also part of why I love the Spiderverse films and certain other superhero media. It's not afraid to be a comic book. It doesn't reject what it doesn't like, it holds onto the stupid and the weird with just as much love as the cool bits.

It doesn't overly rely on using technology and science to explain everything, it doesn't take itself too seriously. Like, it's guys in spandex. That's the thing we love. Why would you try to take that away to become "high art" or whatever. Clones, multiverse, time travel, dumb names, bad quips. Those are all very integral (I mean I literally just described Spidey on accident) and taking them away because you don't like them is so dumb.
