Pre 4 gegen Z

After the death of his parents Matreus was brought up by his "uncle", the dark wizard Zanrelot, in medieval Lübeck, Germany. From an early age he was introduced to a life of servitude which Matreus took on eagerly, motivated by his delusion it was the key to earn him respect and a place in society. The older he got, the more infatuated with his "uncle", now master, he became. Matreus eventually fell in love with his master's son Jonathan, but when he was forced to decide between the two he followed his master into exile and gained immortality as a reward for his loyalty.

During 4 gegen Z

With his master Zanrelot exiled to the underworld, it is up to Matreus who can leave his master's prison, to carry out their evil plans. They are continuously pitted against generation after generation of guardians who are tasked with keeping Zanrelot from rising to power and are helped by Jona, Zanrelot's son. Matreus' loyalty is repeatedly tested until eventually he opposed his master and was banished into his magic wand in return.

Post 4 gegen Z

After the death of Zanrelot and Jona, Matreus is able to reemerge from his wand and finds himself confused and without a purpose in life. He starts ageing again, but he retains his magic powers. It's a whole new adventure in freedom he's never experienced before. Will he defend his newfound liberty or will he fall back into old habits finding someone to devote his life and servitude to?

Ey kann ich kurz einen Meltdown in deiner Inbox haben? 😅 Hab letztlich eine uralte 4ggZ Fanfic von mir entdeckt und mich zu meinen "tollen" Ideen beglückwünscht - Jona in London, Matreus als Schlange, wie Seelen ausgesaugt werden usw. usf. Und jetzt seh ich in deinen Gifsets, dass das ja alles canon war und ahahahahaha, dann hab ich das wohl alles nur abgeschrieben. FML. Brauch jetzt n Moment für mich. 🥺

Ich liebe die treusam-Anagramm Idee! Denn er ist so treu ;_; Nur leider zur falschen Person. Und natürlich ergibt das total einen Sinn, dass er Zanrelot nacheifert und sich auch was Tolles überlegen wollte.

Es ist so traurig, dass er nicht mal einen Nachnamen bekommen hat.

Ich kann nämlich auch nicht glauben, dass jemand sechzehnhundert-irgendwas seinen Sohn Matreus genannt hat. Das bringt mich aber zu der Idee, die mir gerade beim Lesen gekommen ist:

Was, wenn Matreus seinen eigenen Geburtsnamen gar nicht kennt? Seine Eltern könnten so früh gestorben sein, dass er schlicht zu jung war, um sich zu erinnern. Und - ist es eigentlich canon, dass sich Jonas Mutter seiner angenommen hat? - naja, jedenfalls könnte es durchaus sein, dass sie eine Waise in ihrem Haus nicht mochte, selbst, wenn sie verwandt waren oder Matreus hat einige Jahre woanders / auf der Straße gelebt, bis er seine Verwandten gefunden hat und ist in den Jahren einfach namenlos herumgeirrt. "Junge" kann man jemanden im Mittelalter immer rufen.

Vielleicht war Jonas Mutter und Jona auch bekannt, dass es einen Neffen / Cousin gibt, nur seinen Namen wussten sie eben nicht.

Matreus hätte seinen Namen dann irgendwann erfinden oder wo aufschnappen können und ihn zu seinem eigenen Namen erklärt.

4 gegen Z und Namen (Die Anagramm Theorie)

Eigentlich haben ja alle in der Serie halbwegs bekannte und normale Namen, also werde ich heute mal auf die Leute eingehen bei denen das nicht so ist 😃🙏.

Matreus: Zum Vornamen lässt sich sagen, der Name existiert ja an sich in der realen Welt nicht- zumindest als Name, denn "Matreus" ist ein Anagramm für "treusam" (sollte dieses Wort wirklich existieren und nicht nur eine Halluzination meinerseits sein, dann ist es aber komplett veraltet 💀🧍‍♂️) , außerdem erinnert es mich ein bisschen an eine abgeänderte Form des Namen "Matthäus" (was auch irgendwie zum Namen Jonathan passen würde 🧍‍♂️) Was seinen Nachnamen angeht, fällt auf, dass er keinen hat, dies könnte einfach nur das Resultat mangelnder Kreativität sein ODER es ist beabsichtigt gewesen und soll seine mangelnde Zugehörigkeit zu einer Familie symbolisieren (Nach dem Motto:" er hat keine Familie und noch nicht einmal einen Familiennamen, der arme 😔")

Zanrelot: Ja, ich weiß, eigentlich ist das ja nur sein edgy Spitzname ABER auch hier handelt es sich um ein Anagramm (leider kein Palindrom, denn sonst wäre der Name znarelot 💀) und zwar für das Wort "Toleranz". (Shout-out an welche Person auch immer das im villain Wiki Artikel erwähnt hat 🧍‍♂️🫡)

Notizen:

• ich finde beide Namen sind auf ihre Weise passend, "Matreus" weil es sehr beschreibend ist und Zanrelot, weil es so ironisch ist 🧍‍♂️

•Ich denke gerade im Bezug auf Z macht die Anagramm Theorie durchaus Sinn ( Wort-> Fantasiename aus einem Anagramm-> real klingender Name der darauf basiert )

•ich hoffe so sehr, dass treusam ein reales Wort ist (und wenn nur eine Person es verwendet hat ) ansonsten, werde ich meine Karriere als professioneller Theoretiker zum Thema "Unbekannte Kinderserien" an den Nagel hängen und anfangen allein auf einer einsamen Insel zu leben 🧍‍♂️

this is EXACTLY how i felt months ago when i'd see a 4 gegen Z gifset and go "well i don't know what's going on here but it has lucas gregorowicz in a silly little outfit, so, reblog." but then i asked about it and ended up watching it (no subtitles, so it was half vibes for me) and, yeah. whatever you draw from these posts, the actual context probably either doesn't help or makes it more confusing.

i'm very glad you're enjoying the ride because i DO understand the literal children's show posting is being posted alongside my german crime stuff which are two COMPLETELY different vibes, but i consider this my Less Good German Media Sideblog and i say the 4gzposting goes here. I'm happy to hear that you're having a blast with it!
