Hello, I've been thinking about the direction I want to take my own art and I find the way you organize your art blogs between different styles interesting. What do you think of the divide between art that takes much time and skill and art that's more "marketable"?
Oh I like this question a lot. This is a thought that frequently keeps me up at night. I am going to write a lot about this so forgive me if you were hoping for a concise response. I'm also not the best writer, heh. Prefacing with trigger warning for addiction. We currently live in a world where fast paced consumption is the crux of just about every industry. I think as a society we are all aware of it on some level. However, I view it from the lens of a recovering addict. I spent about half my life struggling with addiction. I had the worst cold turkey crash I ever had about four years ago. I thought I was going to die, the withdrawals were so bad. I think this was a necessary part of getting clean for me. I needed to see how bad it could get in order to change my perspective and clear my head. I think the world might be headed down the same path, addicted to consumption like a drug masking the pain of a broken system. We're all clawing at something we can't have because we haven't experienced the fall yet. I don't know if it will happen in our lifetimes. A part of me hopes it does and a part of me would prefer to stay comfortable in the system we have. Change is hard. I think the growing divide in marketable and long form art is a reflection of many things. The best metaphor is the tension on the kite string. Eventually it will snap. Much like the growing wealth divide. On a personal level. When it comes to my art, I would like to work on my high end introspective work but I have bills to pay, thus I am forced to put my energy into my easier, but marketable art. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy that art, a lot. It's helping me process a part of my life I felt like I missed out on during my addiction. However, it is in my heart, a means to an end. It is funding my desire to return to a more intricate art form. I'm hoping in five or ten years I will have saved enough to live on while I focus on this account. Through that, I am also contributing to a system that I'm pretty sure 99% of us don't like. I fear that in time, even this method won't be possible. I fear for future generations. In comes the conflict, the guilt, the jealousy, and the reminder that the world is deprived of so much creativity because we are both victims and perpetrators of this process. I don't think it's by design. I think it just is, and there will be the other shoe eventually. Until, then I continue to try and earn the resources to be able to create unburdened by the fees of existing. It's the only way I have been able to figure out how to earn my keep as ethically as possible. I don't blame social media, artists, or consumers. We're all just mirrors of each other. We all have dreams and goals and we're all forced to play the same game. Some of us are just luckier than others. Thanks for asking.

Could you tell me more about Chicago? I don't hear it romanticized as much as New York or LA but I've always wanted to go to complete the large U.S international cities tour
Sure! Here are some big hitters from a tourist perspective. (Disclaimer, this is gonna be basic because I'm writing it rapidfire, so please don't judge me fellow Chicagoans 😭🙏 and feel free to add!!):
GREAT food scene. It can't compare to New York or LA by volume but what's there is consistently excellent and isn't as overwhelming as those two.
America's best skyline. I'm being so serious. If you care about architecture you need to visit this city. If there's one touristy thing you do in Chicago, take the Architecture Tour on the river. It’s genuinely worth it even if you aren’t big into architecture!
Less important as a tourist, but genuine, unpretentious, friendly people. Most of my friends are transplants from other cities and it's near unanimous that Chicago is the friendliest/most sociable city they've lived in.
Our summers are PHENOMENAL. Constant events, free movies on the green at Grant Park most nights, festivals, and BEACHES. People don't realize we have beaches IN THE CITY!! Because we gatekeep it from outsiders!!! It won't compare to the ocean, of course, but it's such a nice thing to have access to in the summer! (and beautiful to walk on year-round, which leads me to my next point)...
Our lakefront is 99% public access, with a walkable path that winds up and down the entire city. You can walk the ENTIRE trail down the city without needing to detour. My second biggest recommendation is to rent a bike and bike as much of the lakefront trail as you can, especially in the summer. It's so lovely - city skyline on one side and blue on the other.
The birthplace of improv comedy and a major hub of jazz, blues, house, R&B, and hip-hop. If you see an improv show while you're here, there are lots of great options - Second City and iO are the biggest. Second City is the "original" of the originals, and if you see a show there, I recommend checking out green street farmer's market a couple blocks down and seeing a show before/after. It's in a really nice area. I'm not well versed in our music scene unfortunately!
Incredibly diverse neighborhoods with a lot to explore wherever you are in the city.
Northalsted/Boystown is the oldest offically recognized gay neighborhood in the US. Andersonville also has a really vibrant LGBTQIA community and is home to a LOT of wonderful local shops and food joints. It's a really good "walk around/explore" neighborhood. Actually, both of them are. (I don't know much about the nightlife unfortunately).
Bar scene - tons of really cool speakeasies and dive bars, some prohibition-era. Worth checking out if you drink.
Rooftops. Our city loves a good rooftop restaurant/bar. I'd recommend this over riverfront dining. We've got beautiful architecture, a lake, and a river to admire from them, and you can enjoy them even if you don't drink! Lots of really good happy hour deals abound.
Chicago-specific foods to try while you're here: Deep dish pizza, Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches
i am here and i am very cute and gorgeous.
Some photos to sell you! These are from google. My phone is dead and I'm too lazy to crawl through my camera roll but trust me it's jorjus

If you've been wondering where I am: the answer is Zelda
I kind of want to do a quick comparison of what I think TotK did better (and worse) than BotW so here it is. I'm not finished with the plot yet so I won't be talking about the story, but I think I've played enough to make a comparison when it comes to gameplay and characterization.
No story spoilers or quest spoilers or anything. Just general discussion about the kinds of puzzle contents of dungeons and shrines and some of the features you can find in the overworld, but I'll put it under a cut anyway.
Starting with what I think TotK does worse than BotW so we can end on a positive note:
1) The shrines. I'm probably at least 50 shrines in at this point and I hate how they're all basically a variation of either a physics puzzle or a combat trial.
It's like the devs looked at how cool everyone thought Eventide Island was in BotW and said "do that, but again, and 20 times just to make sure it gets really stale." The physics puzzles are all really short and, by nature of the game's design, you have to put at least some Zonai devices used for the "intended solution" into the shrine itself so players can't get stuck. This means the game basically hands you the solution to every shrine right at the start.
If I could improve this game's design, I would just give players 99 of every Zonai device capsule while they're in the shrine that they can take out and use as they see fit (removed once you leave the shrine).
I don't mind some of the underpants trials or basic physics puzzles, but I'm dying for a more meaty experience that takes a bit of actual thought to solve. Speaking of...
2) The dungeons. Admittedly I've only done two so far (the Rito and Zora ones) but somehow I find them even easier than the BotW ones. At least the BOTW ones had the kind of neat mechanic where you can flip and move and rotate parts of the dungeon to open up new areas or do different things. So far the two TotK dungeons I've done have been more incredibly basic physics puzzles. The lead up to the dungeons themselves can be kind of neat but other than that, I'm craving something more complicated and time consuming. Like, something I'd be able to burn an entire play session on instead of just an hour or two.
3) The tutorial segment. It's literally just the Great Plateau 2: Electric Boogaloo, except this one is extremely on rails. There's a very obvious intended path you're supposed to be taking around the islands and there's really not much you can do to deviate from it, at least from my experience. Which I get; TotK has much more complicated mechanics to explain and naturally the more complicated a mechanic the more babying the player needs initially. I just think it was kind of a bad introduction to the game. It's at least two or three hours of extremely linear tutorial, the island isn't really even fully explorable since you don't get the paraglider until after you're done, and I wish they'd allowed a bit more freedom right off the bat.
4) This is kind of hard to explain, but I feel like in general the path to some key features are a bit more on rails than I would expect?
Just as an example from the early game: You jump down to mainland Hyrule and you still don't have a paraglider. You actually have to do parts of the main quest before you can even have access to it. Sure you can continue running around without it, but you won't be able to fill out your map AND you're functionally locked out of 65% of the map (since there's no way to get to the sky or the depths safely without it).
The game doesn't force you to go do the main quest either, and there's no indication that the main quest will be what gives you the paraglider or that you need the paraglider to activate the towers and get map pieces. I probably played for a good 7 or 8 hours before I finally gave in and looked up where to get it, which is kind of a shame because I was really not having that much fun until I hit the first Depths section. I wish they'd just given it to you when you finish the tutorial section or the first time you talk to Purah, instead of making you do a whole run around for it.
That's not the only aspect of the game that feels like that. E.g. you can't activate the Fairy Fountains until you go to one specific stable and start a quest line, or you can't get rewards for those spirit frog gems you keep picking up until you go to one specific place and start a quest line. Sorta takes the fun out of exploring and finding new things when you're basically told "oops, come back later I guess" when you find something cool. That said though, this is probably the least egregious of my complaints because it ties into something I think TotK actually did better.
5) The UI in some places is hot garbage, I'm sorry. Why do we not have different tabs for food, bugs, and monster parts at this point? It is a nightmare 100 hours in trying to organize your shit. Not to mention attaching something to your arrow lays out EVERYTHING in your inventory in one big long line that you have to scroll through, which means you might have to shuffle through a hundred different items to find the one you want. It should not take me 10+ minutes in the middle of combat to find a shock fruit to throw/attach to my arrow.
Now for the things I think TotK did better than BotW:
1) I actually think the quests are LEAGUES better than BotW. This is the reason why complaint #4 above doesn't bother me that much. For an example of what I'm talking about: the great fairy fountains have a quest tied to them specifically. Because of that you need to go to that one specific stable to start it. So it's more on-rails, but as a result you get a better and more involved side quest.
To be honest, I'm okay with the tradeoff (a little less freedom for a little more quality). I was really, really craving more quests on the level of Tarrey Town in BotW and pretty much every town I've visited in TotK has at least two or three semi-sizable quests to dig into. And there are far fewer "catch ten bugs for me" quests, thank god.
2) Overall the world just seems more lived in. The towns are bustling with activity and all of the NPCs have their own little schedules and problems and dialogue. You see a lot more travelers roaming around, and it's actually worthwhile to talk to them (I just found out yesterday that some will mark where you can find clothing sets on your map!). You can encounter travelers fighting monsters and merchants and whatnot.
BotW's big problem really was that there was like no one out and about when traveling, and you were pretty much always punished for talking to anyone because 95% of the time they turned out to be Yiga Clan.
3) The sky islands are kinda meh, but the depths are REALLY cool. Admittedly I haven't replayed BotW in a hot second so I'm not really bothered by them mostly recycling the main map, but I can see why that would bother some. However, I say the devs more than make up for it by essentially creating an entire second map below the surface. And kudos to them too, because it's genuinely unsettling and cool to be down there. I just wish there were more sky islands/more variety in the ones we do have. I mean like every region has one with a central wheel with a piston that you can spin to launch yourself, I've encountered like three moon ones, etc.
4) Maybe this is just me, but I felt like BotW strayed kind of far from previous Zelda games. I like that TotK has a lot of little references and easter eggs for players to find.
And it's not overbearing enough that a new player wouldn't be able to understand what's going on, but they're neat little things for the long time fans. Like I howled when I got the Windwaker PJs and I adore a lot of the visual references to Skyward Sword.
5) I still don't love weapon durability, but it is better this time. The fuse mechanic does make it so you can turn pretty much any crap weapon into something usable. This definitely gets me using my powerful weapons more often, whereas in BotW I would pretty much never grab two handed swords and I would cling to my powerful weapons like a hoarder.
I still wish there were a couple of unbreakable "bases" you could use and just the materials you attach would break, cuz it doesn't feel good to get something really cool and rare like the fierce deity sword and have it break.
6) I CAN BUILD A HOUSE!!! Also the customization in general is fantastic. I love that you can have different paraglider cloths and there's soooo much FASHION!
7) I found the guardians very unfun and I'm glad they're gone. I'm not a big fan of the big bad enemy that you either die to immediately or you take them out FAST. Encountering a guardian was always more stressful than fun for me.
I'm not sure if this was in BotW as well, but I notice that in TotK if something really strong hits you from full health you'll always survive with a quarter of a heart. Cuts down a lot on the unnecessary deaths and is a good indicator to players on what is and is not currently safe for them to take on.
And just in general there wasn't a lot of enjoyable strategy to the guardian fights for me. Meanwhile in TotK I've been taking on stuff waaaaaaaay above where I should be for hours now, and while it's hard/a bit frustrating sometimes it's very doable.
8) Link! I like TotK Link a lot better than BotW link. Maybe it's just me, but he feels so much more expressive and interesting. One of my big complaints about BotW was that Link was very flat, which stood out even more since they added voice acting. So characters would just talk at him like a brick wall. A bit jarring if you're coming off of Skyward Sword or Wind Waker link.

A Fleeting Moment
Summary: You and Hunter don't get to spend a lot of alone time together, which means you need to make the most of every moment you get.
Relationship: Hunter x gn!Reader
Word count: 727
Warnings: none, just a lotta fluff with maybe a touch of angsty subtext
Tumblr media
A low hum was the only sound aboard the Havoc Marauder. There was always a sense of serenity that came with flying through Hyperspace. These moments of peace were few and far between where Clone Force 99 was concerned. Whether it was Tech tinkering with equipment, Crosshair griping about something, or Wrecker being... Wrecker, there was always background noise. Even when you tried to sit and meditate you would find it hard to focus with the constant commotion. But now, they were all sleeping soundly after another successful mission. You had jumped to take the stint in the pilot's seat, monitoring the journey. Although there was nought to do, you wanted to cherish this respite before you would land on Coruscant and the cycle of carnage would begin again. You cared for the Bad Batch more than a Jedi should, but you still appreciated some alone time.
'General.' Hunter's voice cut through your moment of tranquillity. He enjoyed the peace and quiet as much as you did. A man with senses like his always needed time to wind down.
'Everything okay?' You hummed, glancing over your shoulder to smile at him. You saw his posture relax when your eyes met. He was the one person on the ship whose presence you never needed a break from. In a seemingly never-ending war, stolen moments with the sergeant offered an escape from the bloodshed, albeit a temporary one. When you were alone together there was no Jedi and no clone, just two people who fell for each other despite all of the odds.
'Couldn't sleep.' He pressed a kiss to your head and lowered himself into the co-pilot's seat, wearing just his blacks.
'Liar,' you shot him a smirk. He didn't try and argue, just shrugged and mirrored your expression.
'It's not like we get to spend much time alone together these days. If I have to sacrifice a few hours of sleep then so be it.' He spun in his chair to face you, whilst you still gazed out into hyperspace.
'We have a briefing when we land, you won't able to concentrate.' Although there was some truth to your words, you were just teasing him.
'Am I ever able to concentrate when you're around?' His tone was one you recognised all too well.
'Quit flirting, Sergeant.' You finally spun around to face him, a grin settled on your lips.
'Why don't you come here and make me?' Taking both of your hands, he pulled you over towards the co-pilot seat. You straddled his waist whilst his arms snaked around yours. With your precious alone time dwindling by the second, your lips met in a passionate kiss. It felt like there was nobody else in the galaxy. Just you, Hunter and the depths of space whirring by. Heated kisses were broken up by warm embraces and a few verbal exchanges. You both silently agreed that you could stay like that forever. But, time didn't wait for anyone, especially not a Jedi General and clone Sergeant.
You were in the midst of another fiery kiss when you heard the rustling of the other clones beginning to rise from their slumber. Lips separating, you glanced at the flight path and realised you were about to leave hyperspace.
'It was fun while it lasted.' Hunter pressed a lingering kiss to your cheek.
'It'll be even more fun when we get some proper alone time.'
'I'll make sure the boys go out on a supply run after the briefing.' His forehead rested against yours. You both savoured this final gesture before you were going to be forced to return to acting like you had a professional relationship.
'I'm looking forward to it.' You kissed him once more, conveying all of your pent up passion into the short embrace. When you heard voices approaching, you climbed off Hunter and back into the pilot seat, both of you turning to gaze out into hyperspace as if the last few hours had never happened. Nothing about your relationship was practical, and some days you both wondered if all of the sneaking around was really worth it. But, in those moments, fleeting though they may be, you were reminded of why you were willing to sacrifice it all for one another. You weren't sure if or when the war would end, which meant you had to make every second together count.

S/O likes enjoys writing/writing lyrics
Masterlist
...
Bang Chan
Tumblr media
° You owned this special and locked diary for years, where you kept all your bottles up emotions and feelings in.
° One of those feelings evolving your long time crush on Chan, including the words 'Sexy, Cute, Inspirational, Hot, Prince, and A Literal Angel' all in quite a few pages. Luckily your now long time boyfriend has never seen these fangirl/boy paragraphs.
° Chan was all of those words, no doubt about it. But it is still hard to look at those paragraphs without cringing at how desperate you sounded in your mind.
° Chan however apparently loved your affectionate paragraphs, flipping through the pages as you walked through his studio door. Your heart sank as pure shock and terror rushed through your veins. No one wants their private thoughts to be read.
° The tips of Chan's ears were firetruck red, as a beaming grin flashed towards you. You noted that he read through the entire diary, knowing all the dreams and wishes you had that involved him. No skeletons were left in your closet anymore, it was bittersweet.
"So you really think I'm an angel who is also the sexiest person on earth?" he teased, cupping your face in his palms.
"Well duh, but you can't tell me you didn't think anything like that towards me-" You defended, cut off by his sweet kisses.
Lee Know
Tumblr media
° Minho found out about your true feelings towards him while reading some song lyrics you wanted to show 3Racha.
° He needed to know who you loved and admired so dearly after reading this, constantly by your side questioning anything he could. After literal weeks of conspiracy, you couldn't take his suspicion anymore and admitted everything.
° You are now much more secretive with your songs that you've written, but that won't stop Minho from looking everywhere he possibly can. He is determined to find them.
° After so many large steps that were taken in your relationship, he wants to see how you truly felt throughout them. From the first date, first time, to the promise ring he fave you last week. Minho wants to say it's to tease, when it's truly because he loves you.
° He loved the way his stomach did kart wheels as his heart fluttered when he first read your words. He hasn't felt that amazing feeling in a while and needs to re live it, luckily for him he noticed a place he has never thought of checking.
"So kitten, you really want to marry me don't you?" he commented, a soft smirk across his glowing features.
"Why wouldn't I? You're you. And how'd you find those?!" you replied, tone changing as you saw how many he actually had.
Changbin
Tumblr media
° Changbin was struggling to create a new song, he seemed to accidently make similar beats and lyrics to their past hits.
° You would sometime write up different songs when you were bored, but you never showed them to anyone thinking they weren't great. But Changbin looked in need of some type of inspiration, so you brought out your journal and placed it infront of him.
° His expression was unreadable, either about to thank you for the amazing inspiration or laugh at your cheesy words. You just wanted him to say something.
° Changbin began to smile shyly, showing you a page he just read over. That page happened to be the most recent and the one you completely forgot about. It was a draft about 10 different ways you could tell Changbin that you loved him.
° You really wanted it to be special when you would say it to him, but luck didn't seem to be on your side that day. You were at least glad that he was smiling, showing positive signs that he isn't feeling awkward or doesn't feel the same way about you.
"I love you too my adorable bean." He chuckled, pulling you into his lap as he held you close to his racing heart beat.
"I'm guessing he new comeback is going to be a love song now?" you teased, burrowing into his soft black hoodie.
Hyunjn
Tumblr media
° Your relationship use to be a cat and mouse situation, one day you two were best friends and then the next you two were rivals.
° Your anger and frustration towards one another was simply a way to hide your true emotions. Both of you found each other attractive in and out, but were too stubborn to confess. That is until he walked into your room and pressed you up against the wall.
° Your rivalry left out the door once you started dating, the only ounce of it was left in the small playful bickering and teasing. Which happened every day of the week.
° You walked into the dressing rooms, noticing Han and Felix giggling as your presence became known. This wasn't a usual giggle of theirs, something was going on. You knew that for sure once you saw the way Hyunjin presented himself.
° A sly smirk across his lips as a couple crumpled peace of paper were in between his fingers. His steps were long and powerful, as he held his head up high while nearing you. This usually meant he found something to tease you with.
"I didn't know you liked me for five years, coming up with so many cute pet names if we ever dated." He teased, hiding his blush.
"First of all, you went through my desk without asking me. Second of all, I am whipped for you dumb dumb." You replied.
Han
Tumblr media
° You weren't a very vocal person, having trouble expressing your thoughts and emotions through words everyday.
° That reason alone is also why people think you and Han are a perfect match. He helped you come out of your shell and be comfortable in your own skin. All of those actions sent your heart into a frenzy, finding there way into pages filled with emotion.
° Han knew about your habit of writing cute quotes on your palms and arms, or just randomly taking out your journal and starting a new page.
° He respected your privacy even if the temptation of knowing every little thought you have was very very strong, he held back and let you write in peace. However, when you dropped your journal without knowing. Han held it and the temptation took over.
° As you had a chat with Seungmin, he turned around from your eye sight and flipped through the pages. Many of them expressing how much you love him and how much he helped you without him even knowing. This effected Han immensely.
"Hannie are you crying?" you questioned, noticing the forming gloss over his sparkling chocolate orbs.
"Yeah, but it's happy tears. I just never knew how much you cared about me, and it makes me feel important." He explained.
Felix
Tumblr media
° You cannot hide anything from this adorable koala, he knows you too well and can find anything you've hidden from him.
° You learned this the hard way when you asked him for help when forgetting where you left your journal, panicking since the last place you saw it was at Minho's. Felix knew you usually placed it near your bed and assumed it to be under the covers.
°His assumption was spot on, but you had no idea that he had found it yet. Felix took this advantage to skim through a few pages, smiling at the sight of his name in the book.
° His name was mentioned ever since the day you first met, January 7th 2017. He was written as this attractive aussie that had your knees weak, he laughed silently at the realization that you fancied him since the first day you met. He loved it.
° Felix walked out with the navy blue book tight in his grip, his ears a bright shade of red. You knew he must've read some sort of page about him, but you weren't nervous about it. It couldn't have been anything more cheesy than what you say on dates.
"I can't believe Han knew about your crush on me that entire time." Felix chuckled, shock filling his expression.
"And I can't believe you never knew how much I truly admired you." You teased back, kissing his freckle speckled cheeks.
Seungmin
Tumblr media
° Seungmin met you at a library, you were working on a soft poem about not being able to find the right person.
° That whole meeting seemed like something right off of a romance movie or fanfiction novel. Writing about giving up on love as an amazing guy happens to cross paths with you. But both of you laugh at the whole cliché nature of your meeting.
° Seungmin loved how you wrote, taking him into the story each time. He felt so special whenever he found something referring to your relationship, feeling fuzzy inside.
° He liked to bring some of your poems on tour with him, reminding him to stay strong when being away from you. Letting him know that you'll always be there for him when he needs you, even if you are both countries away from each other.
° Felix once found his stash of poems that you wrote, he never teased him on it but would still smile excitedly at how sentimental Seungmin was becoming. Seungmin knew he was becoming cheesy and mushy, he hated yet loved it.
"Do you know how much you have effected me?" he questioned, tracing the curve of your jaw with his thumb.
"Or maybe you have an addiction to me, ever think of that?" you responded, smiling widely as he rolled his eyes at your words.
Jeongin
Tumblr media
° You worked under JYP entertainment to help create songs for different groups, Jeongin noticed you during his break.
° You rarely got to work with Stray Kids since they made 99% of their own songs, but that didn't stop Jeongin from trying to get to know you. It worked in his favor, since you began to develop a living in him after two months of hang out together.
° Jeongin likes hearing certain songs you create or in the process of being created, cheering you on and telling all of his members when you created a song.
° He liked to give you the credit and appreciation you rarely get, most of the credit going towards the artist who performed the songs you created. Jeongin wanted to let you know how proud he was of you daily, even if you got shy from it.
° Whenever you showed him different samples of songs you were working on, he'd dance in his seat with a beaming smile. Even when you were tired and wanted the day to end, his admiration and addicting smile would make your mood change instantly.
"I am just worried because JYP has been pretty harsh on the past few songs." You sighed, tired and frustrated.
"He literally wrote a song about women's butts. I'm pretty sure you're more talented baby." He reassured, patting your head.

You gave an analysis of how the crackship boys feel about bakugou but how does he feel about them?
This turned out to be a long answer, not sure if I am on point though, just wrote down whatever came to mind. Hope you don't mind.
The Duo:
They are his goals that he's chasing. Both Getou and Gojo are very strong ("the strongest"). They are very confident in their abilities and true to their words, they are the best in their fields. Combined with the fact that both of them are good looking and intelligent, even if they chose not to be jujutsu sorcerers they would still do well in life (probably would have an easier life too). Katsuki is both proud of them and admires them. However, sometimes he is scared of them too. Gojo lived most of his life as a god amongst men so he can be very cold when reviewing problems/situations. Getou's problem...we all know what it is.
Katsuki knows Gojo is reliable when absolutely needed but Gojo won't be the first person he'd go to if he needs serious advices. I think Katsuki is the type of genius that's 99% hardworking but Gojo is the fully natural born genius, which means that Gojo has a hard time relating to Katsuki at times. Gojo is childish and immature, a ball of energy that Katsuki finds both endearing but also overwhelming. Katsuki finds it easier to get Gojo to do what he wants when he phrased things correctly.
He likes to spend time with Getou because it is often a quieter atmosphere. But Getou likes to decide stuff for him more (Getou will word it nicely though) and it's harder to change Getou's mind once he made a decision. Katsuki has a problem with this but it’s a slow process to work things out.
Katsuki in this fic is probably the least confident since he is always been chased (the curses, his parents wishing him to be even better) and chasing after someone or something else. Katsuki trusts them both but he also has a fear of being left behind. Gojo and Getou are older than him and the path they are on is a very difficult one. There are a lot of factors that is building barriers between them, especially since Katsuki wants to be a hero. They are also all young and people change, love sometimes isn’t enough to conquer reality.
He is scared of losing them too because death in this world is very common and even if they are strong, sometimes misfortune still happens. The jujutsu world is also very corrupted & Katsuki’s parents, even most of the people he knew (on the hero side + his parents) don’t think this relationship will end well. He is caught in a position where he feels that he loves the duo but also insecure about where their relationship will go and the stability of it. In a way, he’s hanging onto this relationship because he’s afraid he won’t find anything else.
Xanxus:
Xanxus is family. He filled in the role of an older male figure/role model (admittedly, he’s not the best role model and wasn’t around much due to the whole being frozen stuff) in Katsuki’s earlier life. With him, Katsuki found attention and a lively household (and other not so great role models) that he lacked in his own house. In young Katsuki’s head, Xanxus = attention and warmth + people he could play with, which is a hell lot better than his empty house or being left alone in an office while his parents worked constantly. Also, what kid wouldn’t like a big bro who would take them to do all the cool things that their parents normally wouldn’t let them do ? This impression stuck with him as he grew.
Katsuki could relate to Xanxus as they both had problematic relationships with their family (or faced a degree of neglect in their childhood). He likes Xanxus because he knows he could rely on Xanxus to stick to his words and that if the sky was falling down, this man would shoulder it for him (with a lot of cursing and possibly a lot of dead people to follow but still LOL). Of course, Xanxus being mafia meant that Vongola will always come first for him, Katsuki will never be his top priority in life. This Katsuki could accept because he is doing the same, where he views his careers more important than being with Xanxus.
With Varia, Katsuki finds freedom that his parents and hero society can’t provide. Katsuki didn’t like wearing the dresses initially but now he does, since it acted as an outlet for him to relax and not be Bakugou Katsuki: Hero in training striving to be at the top and stay at the top. It’s freedom to unwind and rebel against his parents -> This is basically how he sees his relationship with Xanxus too. It’s wild and hot, like wildfire burning bright but also like a hearth during the winter that provided him serene warmth.
To him, they are on equal grounds in terms of what they could contribute into the relationship. Katsuki gets the family he wants, acquire skills/resources while Xanxus gets his cloud, a way to shut the Vongola elders up about getting married and chase off the unwanted troubles, plus someone to share a portion of the workload with (Squalo is good but he’s the strategic captain, one man can’t do everything). Basically, he is the perfect mafia wife for Xanxus and in return, he gets resources, connections, and a family. However, they are more like boss and his guardian (yes, Katsuki does take orders from Xanxus because he find that Xanxus is competent and deserving of such) at times so it’s more about loyalty and fidelity than love for them.
Katsuki knows Xanxus is a cruel piece of shit who swears like a sailor and is hot tempered and violent, but he chose to stay because he didn’t want to lose his family. Also, both of them had been constantly abandoned and Katsuki didn’t want to “betray” Xanxus, putting him though those feelings again. Katsuki is a bit jealous of Xanxus’s confidence in himself though XD
Zeku:
Katsuki sees Zeku as a partner on equal grounds in all the ways that matter. It’s very literally them against the world. Zeku had nothing and knew nothing when he first landed in Katsuki’s world & Katsuki needed Zeku to make Suribachi better. They are business partners working towards a common goal at first, thus, they have spent a lot of time building up trust and working with each other, which means they also had a lot of time to understand and get to know each other. With deeper understanding, comes a deeper connection. Zeku is quiet most of the time and Katsuki finds it calming, like he’s safe behind the protection of a castle made of rocks. They are cold and hard but provides him a sense of security that he desperately needs.
The affection between them is more “pure” for the lack of a better description compared to the other crackships. It didn’t stem from the need to provide something in order to gain something back for this Katsuki. The attraction came from seeing Zeku willing to put so much time and energy into making sure Katsuki was safe (or relatively safe since it’s Yokohama), seeing him work hard to build and provide, and the feeling of being Zeku’s no.1 priority to the point where he was willing to stay for Katsuki. Katsuki found it touching, and he was moved by the little things that Zeku did or didn’t do (like staying with him when he’s overwhelmed or carving him a bracelet, giving him control, etc). In a way, it’s kind of like how dripping water (Zeku’s efforts) can drill a hole through a rock (Katsuki’s heart) if given enough time.
This isn’t a good analogy but imagine them holding hands, shoulder to shoulder as they make their way through this journey called life. Sometimes they walk, sometimes they run, sometimes Zeku leads in the front and other times Katsuki does. They hit a crossroad and Katsuki choses the direction and makes the plans while Zeku clears the path if needed. So their relationship is very much about being honest and open, trusting each other, and love. Things are simpler for them because there’s no external factor to consider (like the jujutsu higher ups, traditions of the Gojo clan or the issues with hero and mafia) so they are loving each other with all their hearts.
A small part of Katsuki feels like he’s tying Zeku to this world and brings nothing but problems (with all the people looking for The Book and Yokohama’s weirdness). His mental state isn’t always the best, which is also emotionally exhausting for those around them in the long run. Thus, he tries to do a lot of things to keep Zeku happy and is more willing to compromise or listen to Zeku’s thoughts and feelings. They want the best for each other basically.

Hey I have a question so I live in Wylie TX so Central Texas we normally get hit a little bit like just the edge of the storm I'm guessing it won't be that way this time.... How bad will central Texas be hit and will the two lakes that I'm like right smack in the middle of be a problem... I'm just confused because this is a new situation and we don't have tornados often because of the lakes. (Also unrelated note this is the worst possible time for my dog to have a bladder stone and UTI)
So my askbox ate this until today for some reason, which makes my response criminally late... but, I'm afraid I wouldn't really have known too well anyway. I haven't lived in this part of the US for most of my life and so I'm not familiar with the geography or the weather patterns outside of the part of Arkansas where I live.
Sometimes, that gives me an advantage, cause when the weather service says shit's gonna be bad, I believe them. Others, it's a curse.
Even though it's painfully belated, I do have a bit to offer generally speaking, that should hopefully help in the future.
Even if your house wouldn’t be reached by floodwaters (like if it's on a hill or other elevelated ground), you would have to consider whether floodwaters could leave you trapped, potentially without power. It looks like those lakes are miles apart, so I would imagine that they wouldn't be likely to merge or anything, but I have no real idea of the elevation of the land between them, or how they tend to flood.
As for the severity of incoming storms... get a weather app with a doppler radar and look at it often. Follow the projected paths of storms and weather systems and compare that to where they actually go. Weatherman can be wrong. Computer models can be wrong, often because local geography/topography affects weather in ways that are difficult to account for in a simulation. Computer models have difficulty predicting storm paths where I live due to a "mountain" (just a tall, very wide hill, really) to the west of me, for example. But you can learn your local weather patterns by observation and get a feel for what a storm looks like on approach if it's gonna be a big one, or where/if storms tend to be deflected by local geography.
I use the weather channel app (which sucks, but its doppler works well enough for me), as it shows both the past path of the storm as well as the predicted path, but there are far better ones out there. My boss swears by Weather Underground, which (if I understand it correctly) is more of a grassroots thing that uses a network of weather stations in the yards of millions of private citizens. It generally has the most complete, accurate, and specific real-time weather data (for my area, at least).
As for tornadoes... there's no shame in that being new and unfamiliar, and thus a little frightening. I don’t know if there are tornado sirens in your town, but be listening for those if a tornado watch has been issued for your area.
A tornado watch means the conditions are right for a tornado, a tornado warning means there is a tornado. (I like the Cupcake mnemonic: Cupcake watch means the ingredients are on the countertop, and a cupcake warning means the cupcakes have come out of the oven/there are cupcakes on he countertop). Monitor your local weather service and, when a tornado watch is issued, you should be ready to shelter at the sound of a siren or the issuing of a warning.
If either of those things happens, it is time to bunker down. Go to your basement or, failing that, an inner room with no windows on the first floor (if possible/in a house), preferably a bathroom (the plumbing is supposed to anchor and support the walls, provide better protection) and wait it out.
Generally, bodies of water have a stabilizing effect on weather. I believe that effect is somewhat dampened in the context of large storm systems though, but I don't know enough about meteorology to be sure. There may be an elevated area, such as a ridge or large hill, that shields your town from the worst part of most incoming storms (as is the case with the town where I live as well as the one where my family lives). That's something you could better determine by watching the doppler and comparing the behavior of weather patterns to, say, a topography map. Or people say things like "the ridge keeps tornadoes from getting here" or something like (although I'd be careful to make sure and note which direction such a feature shields you from). Notably, bodies of water do not stop tornadoes! That is a very dangerous myth, and I just had to look it up to make sure. Tornadoes form due to rotation that starts high up near/in the clouds and then stretches down, and so they don't really care what happens near their feet. Never believe anyone who says a body of water will stop a tornado.
When deciding whether or not to shelter, use discretion. I'm more careful about tornadoes than a lot of people who've lived in the south their whole lives, and they think I'm silly to hunker down because a tornado is in the next town over, but I'd rather make someone overly cautious than get them hurt. And I'd rather hide from 99 tornadoes that never get close than end up not hiding from the one that does.
I hope that you and yours are safe and came through the storm no worse for the wear. I am truly so, so very sorry that I'm answering this so very late.
Also, is your doggo alright? Do they know that I, and at least half the internet, love them implicitly? Do they know that they're a good dog?
