I finished reading Sha Po Lang today. I don't think I'll have time to get into all my thoughts for a few days, but there's a really interesting essay to be written about how this novel's themes compare to Tai Sui's. Both novels are about the end of one era and the start of another, but each story's protagonist (and each story as a whole) goes about fighting corruption and societal decay in very different ways. Sha Po Lang is a story about fixing a failing country from the inside by working within the system—it's a story celebrating a Good Emperor. Tai Sui is, for the most part, about systems that are corrupt and oppressive by nature and must be torn down and equalized to elevate the common people. That's a hell of a change in viewpoint for novels written by the same author six years apart.

Hi! i’ve been following you for a bit and i’m curious do you think, because of how big, the war with Hybern was that the last book(s) in ACOTAR will just be wrap up’s of relationships and not a full blown final war with Koschei because with Brialynn out of the picture what motive do the others have without Beron declaring war amongst the courts, and just, in my opinion, petty personal reasons, like the other plot points of ACOSF seem like just vague threats and overall death count wise ACOTAR has been kind and nice comparatively speaking especially with the resurrections so it seems unlikely it would end with another fallout in Prythian and just a novella about the characters post war or even a relationship novella prior to the possible looming war in the last book. regardless i think the plot for the future of ACOTAR is just paternity court, with Cassian’s bloodline having been alluded to be royal, Gwyn and her father, Lucien and Helion… like one way or the other someone somewhere in Prythian is going to find out if that is in fact their child.
Hello Anon,
The way I look at the ACOTAR series... it is 2 parts ... the original Triology is separate to the spin off's and the Novella was a kind of holiday spl for Feysand.
While the original Triology was heavily connected to Hybern and its urge to conquer Prythian, the spin off's are dwelling deeper into lore and actual world building of Prythian itself. So they are separate in my opinion although the characters and relationships are a continuing link.
Will there be another major war? No, not in my opinion. I think it will be more about court politics , spy craft and the war being averted without more loss to life than what occurred during Hybern. Autumn will need to be addressed since they are the ones stupid enough to disrupt the fragile peace they have jyst gained which is what will be dealt with along with Illyrians and in my opinion the made weapons in Az and Gwyns book.
The troves have more power and can do a lot of other things when combined , this has been mentioned in both ACOSF and HOFAS .... this is where I think world walkers and multiverse can come into play , what if they decide the troves are better off separated and put them each in different worlds ? Also the made weapons that Asteri hid in different pockets.. they would need to find them before it falls into the wrong hands ... all this will be addressed in the Gwynriel book and will heavily involve Nesta and I think Nesta will be a world walker or Az .
Then we move onto the two living queens, Vassa nd her curse and Koschei. This is where it gets interesting, it's clearly stated in ACOSF that Koschei has plans for the troves that will be used for more than just to free himself, we don't know what those plans are .... We also then have other neighbouring kingdoms and their refusal to sign the peace treaty .... so while I don't think its going to be an out and out war ...
The next two books will be heavy on court politics , people playing courtiers , travel to other parts of the world, stealth operations, spy craft , Espionage while having a couples story and romance centred in the books.
The part about who is whose child ... while it may play a part I don't see it being "the central plot"

i finished sha po lang a few days ago and it was so good but i've also been thinking about how sha po lang is such a fitting title for the book - on one hand it alludes to the astrological system of being born under an unlucky star, on the other hand it can also roughly translate to 'kill the wolf'. and spl has plenty of mentions about the idea of fate and being forced into certain paths in life based on where and when you were born (the sha po lang star system) - chang geng's birth and existence was fated to be the nation's downfall, gu yun frequently laments if he was just born to be unlucky and born to take on the marquis position to live a lonely life eventually dying for the nation, shen yi is also cursed out by his aunt for being an unlucky star for the family, etc. there may be other mentions elsewhere but these were the pertinent ones i could remember clearly. spl also has plenty of allusions to wolves and wolf imagery - i think the whole idea of territorial expansionism, defense, great liang being surrounded by 'hungry wolves' in gu yun's words, the idea of the bone of impurity involving a child devouring its brother, great lang's eternal enemy the eighteen wolf tribes, the very fact that black iron camp set out to kill the wolf king/prince jia lai ying huo (who eventually dies, though not directly at their hand), the wolf tattoos on the assassins who tried to kill marshal gu twice.
the title was perfectly made for chang geng, he's a wolf tribe person, born under unlucky circumstances, and yet managed to turn around and kill off that part of himself from the barbarian wolf tribes. not to mention the fact that his modus operandi is to act like a lone wolf - only caring about its kin and territory, beholden to no one and highly independent.
the title of this book already gives new readers the impression that it is, essentially, going to be a book about violence. the implication of the sha po lang astrology was not apparent to me at first because despite being chinese myself i've never heard of it where im from. but based off direct translation of the words - 杀 meaning to kill, 破 meaning to break, crack, or shatter, and 狼 meaning wolf, i gathered that the story was going to be about killing things. and violence predominates in this story in the form of war and rebellion.
there were so many parallel scenes/ parts that made me smile, im going to try and screenshot them soon to post a sort of web weave thingy.
spl is not a danmei for everyone. coming here straight from yuwu and 2ha, the lack of in-your-face romance and the plot-heaviness of the story nearly put me off from finishing it. but if you find yourself enjoying it, know that one read will not be enough to fully appreciate everything. i know it wasn't enough for me.

hi!! I saw your post about the national library card from I think you said a library in Seattle?? I’m trying to get back into reading and this sounds super cool so I’m wondering how you did that and how it connects to libby! (I don’t have libby, so another question is do you like/recommend libby?) thanks!!
this is such an awesome ask to receive hihihi first of all i wanna say i'm also trying to get back into reading rn and libby is making it so much easier for me! listening to audiobooks at work i've already read more books in 3 months than all of last year. i'm not even sure which post you're coming from bc i've been making lots of excited posts about discovering new options lol
so the seattle thing i referenced is the books unbanned program the seattle public library is involved in and i recently reblogged a post listing several other libraries also involved, basically offering access to their digital library to anyone in the US (within a certain age group, but i'm hoping it's fudgeable?). i'm hoping you're in the US, idk how it works elsewhere
all i did was sign up for a card and i got an email with a card number which is good for a year! i'm still discovering this myself, so i haven't looked at any of the others or properly explored the options on the SPL website yet (on top of libby access they have their own online library!) i imagine the cards from the other libraries probably work the same way.
libby is an app for accessing ebooks and audiobooks through your public library. it's kind of the 2.0 version of overdrive, if you're familiar w that, from which it took over. you search up your library in the app and input your card number/account info and tada! access to whatever catalog your library has!
Tumblr media
i would absolutely recommend libby, it's pretty easy to use, you can make custom lists of books with their 'tags' feature (i have a list i know i want to check out, one i want to take a second look at called "hmm," and one just called "whoa what" just for a collection of remastered old radio plays(?!))
i figured i'd try plugging the SPL card and was happily surprised to find it worked! i have two cards added rn, my local lib has a borrowing limit of 5 items at a time and SPL has limit of 10, and they both have a hold limit of 10. SPL has a way huger catalog than my local, and while the waitlists are longer, they have more copies(/digital lending licenses or whatever). it was so exciting to find all the new stuff that i hadn't had available before!
(i would check your library website to see what digital resources they offer and are connected with. i think libby is nearly universal? i've also used kanopy, which has tv and movies (my library had this one a couple years ago but i couldn't log back in recently i think they ended whatever subscription they had) and hoopla, which has books, audiobooks, comics, comics adapted into audio format, tv series, movies, music, sheet music,,,! and you get 10 borrows a month plus wvr bonuses they're currently offering. i love hoopla a LOT. i haven't had luck accessing those two using my SPL card, though. my library is also listing freegal for music and another couple services for specifically kids' books)
please feel free to ask me more questions if i didn't answer to your satisfaction, i got overexcited

New Post has been published on https://www.vividracing.com/blog/suspension-upgrades-you-need-for-a-porsche-911-turbo/
Suspension Upgrades YOU Need for a Porsche 911 Turbo
In some past articles and videos we have discussed the best upgrades to get more power out of the Porsche 997 Turbo. Our long history of modifying the Porsche 911 Turbo cars has brought us to our most recent video where we talk about the best suspension upgrades to really get the car to handle. The 997 Turbo like most 911 isn’t made for aggressive enthusiast. Its quiet sounding exhaust, tall ride height where you could stick a fist in the wheel wells, and less than stellar handling is designed for the guy who just wants to own a Porsche Turbo. Lets be honest, everything that is done from Porsche is perfect for that guy. But you and I are not him and we want to have GT3 Cup handling and drive the piss out of our cars to the edge.
youtube
Vivid Racing and myself have big proponents of KW Suspensions as our coilover of choice for our Project Cars and customers. Having used them on everything from my personal Porsche 997 Turbo, 997.2 Turbo S, 991 Turbo, and plenty of other cars, their is no substitute. KW Coilovers are highly engineered in Germany to perform the best in the purpose of that vehicle. Proven in events like the 24 hours of Nurburgring, KW does testing on a 7 post shock dyno in its facility to the level of an F1 team. This is not some overpriced Chinese shock with 36 way adjustable dampening and a cute brand name. KW is the real thing. Their coilovers range from the V1 to their latest V5. In my opinion, the V3 is the best dual purpose coilover. With a monotube shock setup, independent rebound and compression, front progressive spring and a rear linear spring with helper spring, the KW V3 gives the best for a daily driver that wants to hit the mountain roads or setup impressive times on the track.
Shop KW Coilovers Here
Coilovers cannot be the only thing to change how your car handles. So we recommend doing a set of sway bars. Sway bars help balance the cars over and under steer. Even though the car has factory sway bars, doing adjustable, larger diameter sway bars help you really stiffen up the handling and get a neutrally balanced car. With the adjustment holes on the bar, you are able to alter how much over steer or under steer the car has. Most sway bars work with the factory sway bar links. Though for those wanting to really dial in the adjustments, getting aftermarket sway bar links is helpful.
Shop Porsche Sway Bars Here
The last essential suspension upgrade to the Porsche 997 Turbo we feel is the rear upper control arms. Companies such as RSS, SPL, and others manufacture these for the 997 Carrera and Turbo cars. These rear arms also know as Dog Bones, help dial in the camber and toe for a proper alignment. These control arms are usually a billet aluminum center with adjustable spherical rod ends on either side. This replaces the static rubber bushing dog bone. The new rear arms give a more rigid response which means better reaction to how the car handles with minor inputs to the steering wheel.
Shop Porsche Control Arms Here
There are more suspension upgrades that can be done to a Porsche 911 Turbo. These 3 items are great starters and will dramatically change how the car handles on the street and track. Giving you a more responsive and enjoyable, handling vehicle is the goal. Each one of these parts is top tier and purpose designed to meet the quality and expectations of Porsche owners. Remember that all of these parts are not any good with a proper vehicle alignment, good tires, and of course your skills as the driver!

[ad_1] GG News Bureau New Delhi, 10th Nov.  In an effort to strengthen public transportation access, especially in underserved areas, the Delhi government introduced two new bus routes and increased the frequency of an existing route on Sunday. Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot, along with Bijwasan MLA Bhupinder Singh Joon, flagged off the 892 SPL route, a dedicated service designed for schoolchildren. This route will operate twice each in the morning and afternoon, covering a 6.5-kilometer path from Dhoolsiras Village to Chhawla School to meet school schedules. Additionally, the 892 STL route has been launched to improve connectivity between villages, such as Nanak Heri, and urban centers, including Dwarka Sector-10. Spanning approximately 19 kilometers, this route will provide reliable transportation for daily commuters and connect essential locations like the Dwarka Sector-21 metro station, Chhawla Village, and the BSF camp. The government has also enhanced bus frequency on route 716, which operates between Shivaji Stadium and Dhoolsiras. With two new air-conditioned CNG buses added, the route now offers 16 trips per day, doubling its frequency to accommodate increased demand. Key stops include Lady Hardinge Hospital, Palam, and Dwarka Court, providing smoother connections for commuters across these areas. “We are committed to making public transport more accessible and reliable, particularly for residents of villages and outer Delhi. These new routes will offer a cleaner, safer, and more efficient travel experience for all commuters,” said Gahlot. The new upgrade allows ZK proofs to enhance runtime support for Solana. With encryption on SPL tokens, users can make private transactions without compromising on security. Solana [SOL] has finally adopted a new update to its validator client known as the Solana v1.16. In an article posted on 6 October, the project’s ultimate developer platform Helium, wrote a detailed explainer on what the latest upgrade is about. Realistic or not, here’s SOL’s market cap in ETH terms ZK-SNARKS to the rescue Before going into the attributes, Helius gave a step-by-step report of how the v1.16 was tested. According to the post, the upgrade was in development for ten good months with efforts by both volunteers and canary nodes. For context, a canary node involves the testing of a new feature with real users before it’s eventually deployed. Helius noted that the Solana v1.16 had been running on Testnet since 7 June. The development team, however, noted that there were some issues with the RPC nodes and a bit of security. But with the help of the canary node, Solana was able to call in Halborn a blockchain security solution firm to audit the upgrade before it went live on Mainnet Beta. Interestingly, the features of the new upgrade constituted some of the benefits users and validators have been hoping Solana integrates. First, Solana noted that the v1.16 upgrade allows for the effective implementation of Zero-Knowledge Succinct Non-Interactive Argument of Knowledge (ZK-SNARKS). Typically, ZK features are known to be linked with Ethereum [ETH] scaling solutions.  However, Solana’s decision to implement it was because of its mission to enhance runtime support for ZK computations. Hence, the report mentioned that, “These operations are standardized on Ethereum through EIP-196, EIP-197, and EIP-198. The introduction of alt_bn128 syscalls is a significant leap towards bridging the compatibility gap.” Indexing and more for validators Another feature introduced with the upgrade is confidential transfers which also need the Zero-Knowldege input. With Solana’s confidential transfers, users can improve privacy and encrypt transactions and balances of SPL tokens. SPL is an acronym for Solana Program Library. They are similar to Ethereum’s ERC-20 tokens. But what SPL tokens do is a bit different from ERC-20 tokens. Still, they follow a specific standard for creating and managing tokens on the Solana blockchain. For validators, the v1.16 upgrade automatically reduces the Random Access Memory Usage (RAM) for indexing accounts. Since the deployment of the upgrade, validators now run on 39 GB of RAM instead of the previous 120GB. This was also confirmed by Yanshu, a developer from Luganodes. 1/ We've been closely monitoring memory requirements for running @solana nodes & it's remarkable how they've dropped since the release of v1.16! 🚀 We recently upgraded our nodes to the latest v1.16.14, which comes with host of performance improvements & enhanced resiliency🧵👇 pic.twitter.com/D1B423y0Ey — Yanshu | Luganodes (@0xyanshu) September 28, 2023 At press time, data from Solana Beach showed that there were 1,993 validators on the blockchain. Also, 81.1% of the nodes were operating on v1.16.14 while 12.14% upgraded to v1.16.15. How much are 1,10,100 SOLs worth today? Source: Solana Beach Other features of the new upgrade include better resource allocation for deploying applications. Also, v.1.16 addresses introduced the Epoch Account Hash, which allows the Solana network to increase security by identifying corrupt data. While Solana admitted that the ZK integration was long overdue, it noted that it won’t rest on its oars. In concluding the report, its development arm noted that Solana could be working on releasing another upgrade in the next three months, and v1.17 could be next.

Solana Labs unveils Solang to enhance Ethereum compatibility
Tumblr media
Key takeaways Solana Labs has unveiled its Solang compiler. Solang will make it easier for Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) developers to transition to the Solana ecosystem. Solang compiler goes live Solana Labs has announced the launch of  Solang, a new compiler designed to smooth the transition for Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) developers into the Solana ecosystem. In a blog post on Wednesday, Solana Labs said developers familiar with Solidity can use Solang to write apps on the Solana network. Solidity is Ethereum’s primary smart contract programming language. This latest cryptocurrency news comes a few hours after Neon EVM’s release of a similar tool. Solang seeks further to bridge the gap between the Solana and Ethereum ecosystems. Solang is compatible with Ethereum Solidity V0.8 Solana Labs revealed that Solang has numerous features. One of its core features is that it is compatible with Ethereum Solidity version 0.8. Other features of Solang include; Ability to call other Solana smart contracts Supports Solana SPL tokens Supports program-derived addresses Enables development with Anchor Builds native Solana smart contracts Access to native Solana built-in functionality Solana Labs explained that Solana development had been centered around using languages like Rust or C for scripting smart contracts. However, they added that development was evolving toward greater accessibility via Solidity and EVM. With Solang, developers can now build on Solana with Solidity, a new compiler that helps bridge the gap between EVM developers and the Solana ecosystem. SOL, the native coin of the Solana ecosystem, has been performing well so far today. At press time, the price of Solana stands at $26.146, up by more than 2% in the last 24 hours.
