🍕 ❤️ 💚 🧠 for the new bab ofc and perhaps Irk if you have the spoons
Ask me about my newest OC!
Ayyyy I always have the spoons for Irk! 💜
🍕 - What is their favorite food?
Lasya: Answered here!
Irk: Irk has been alive for maybe a month by the end of ToL, and felisquam usually sought food outside of Eternity, so Irk is kind of special. Their favorite food right now is trout because that’s the only thing they’ve ever really eaten.
❤️ - What is one of your OC’s best memories?
Lasya: answered here!
Irk: Meeting Adrin 😭 out of all the guardians, they have the strongest bond. To Irk, Adrin is like this big, sad puppy they have to keep from wandering off the edge of a cliff.
💚 - What is your OC’s gender identity and sexuality?
Lasya: She is nonbinary but uses she/her pronouns, and she is pansexual! (Minor spoilers but she was Hettie’s first kiss ☠️)
Irk: I use they/them pronouns for Irk because felisquam are kind of like reed frogs and can switch from male to female at will. And because when Adrin first encounters them he describes their voice as “not quite male or female”.
🧠 - What do you like most about the OC?
Lasya: I have been interested in the various cultures of India for years. I have always wanted to write a story with a Desi character and I finally found a way that makes sense. Since Simone Ashley’s (the actress who inspired Lasya) background is Tamil, I decided to make Lasya Tamil-coded to the best of my ability (save me sensitivity readers). I have learned so much about the language, politics and culture and it has just been so much fun figuring out how she fits into the world of Caledon while maintaining that distinct cultural aspect.
I also just love how free she is. She has so much going against her and refuses to let it get to her. She’s who the ToL characters wish they could be, and they will learn so much from her.
Irk: My beloved. What’s not to like about Irk? I basically just write down whatever my cats have done recently and make Irk super cute and mischievous. Irk is largely comic relief in ToL but I think in Book 2 you will see just how much of an impact they have had on Adrin—someone who not only understands his pain but has felt it as well.
