Clownschool AU

@araluen-arrows put this horrific phrase in the RA server and it jingled its way through my mind SO MUCH that I genuinely began to headcanon about it, so here you all go. My Clownschool AU ramblings (fanart at end): First and foremost, there is no tonal change to the book series whatsoever. Clownschool is added as another school at Redmont alongside Battleschool, Horseschool, Scribeschool, etc. It is where the countries' reputable jongleurs, acrobats, and court jesters train. After all, entertainment is just as important to a culture as law and diplomacy, right? That's what Baron Arald believes, so he creates Clownschool. The Clownschool at Redmont is run by Master Noodles, a classic clown. He is a method actor, and never turns off his clown act (his clownsona, if you will). He is charged with training Will after he is denied access to Battleschool. Will learns that Clownschool is so much more than he ever thought, and begins to understand the true art of performance. While he is training under Master Noodles, he discovers an affinity for the mandola. He is put through a series of rigorous tests, each challenging him in various artforms. Though he doesn't tell the boy, Master Noodles believes he could one day be good enough to perform before King Duncan himself as the Araluen court jester.

Will never saw himself in the life of a clown. He makes clown friends, and quite a few clown enemies. But really, maybe the clown journey is what counts in the end.
