Have you watched "Gushing over magical girls"? I feel like it could be great inspiration material for your magical girl au, with the villain being so down bad like our tako ☺️

I have not, but I do think the premise of it is so fun! >w< I've seen a few clips and it's very entertaining. I love how down bad the villain is hehe. I don't have any specific magical girl media references for this story. It's mainly just an inspiration from various tropes commonly seen in the genre, but I do hope to capture the comedic aspects of the magical girl plots that lean into a more humorous side.

Magical Girl Ore is one of my favorite magical girl anime I've ever seen. It's just so silly. The fact that the mascot mentor is a yakuza who's named Kokoro-chan... the villains having this juxtaposition of cute yet also strange because of how strong they look. Saki using the magical staff to beat up the enemies LOL. THE REAL BLOOD????? T_T it's wonderful. I think these types of magical girl comedies are really enjoyable.

There's so much potential with comedy in storytelling!!!! :D

How was DPR in concert bby? Not once but TWICE!!!

It was amaaaaazing!!!!!!! More details under the cut (warning for rare techi selfies le gasp)

So I went to both the Oakland and LA stop. I flew in the day of the Oakland concert, which was on a Friday, my flight left at like 5:30 am. Then I landed around 8, dropped my bag off at the hotel, and went straight to the line!

I even dressed up a bit, I wore the same outfit both days, and it was a cute outfit, if I dare say so myself haha.

I showed up around 9 am and there were probably a little over 30 people there. I was going solo to the Oakland concert, but thankfully I met some super nice fellow dreamers who were my line buddies and made the time pass as fast as it could.

(It's getting harder and harder for me to stand in line that long, especially in the sun 😅).

I had early entry tickets but this meant we only got let into the venue 15 mins early, so around 6:45 that night.

I actually got an amazing spot though, only like 4 rows back from barrier!

The view was great, and the show was awesome. The crowd in Oakland was so loud and hype.

DPR Artics set in particular was one of my faves, it was like a rave, with electronic music and tons of pretty flashing lights. I danced my ass off it was such a vibe!

Of course Ian was the highlight for me, I love his music and him so much, I definitely got emotional both concerts. My favorite part about concerts is just getting lost in the music. He had a live band for his songs, which really made everything that much better!

The next concert was in LA, and me and a friend had meet & greet tickets that day!

I flew into LA Sunday morning and went straight to the line again at like 8 am this time oh boy. I was feeling pretty exhausted but thankfully I had a friend there to help the time pass!

The meet & greet was a group picture with DPR and ten fans each. It went by super fast but after the picture we got to shake their hands and say something really quick. I wanted to say something meaningful to Ian but all I managed when I held his hand was to say "I love you so much." 😂 I went to say more but he said I looked really beautiful and it made my brain short circuit so that was a bit embarrassing. I will in fact be running off the "you look beautiful" comment from him for the rest of my life though.

Anyway, the LA concert was also super hype, so much energy and loud! I had so much fun all my discomfort went away during the concert and I partied hard. I paid for it afterward but that's okay haha.

DPR is amazing live, they are funny, enigamtic, and put their all into it. I cannot recommend seeing them live enough if you have the chance!

1. The Iconic Øyafestivalen 2016 hug

Need I say more? Miles HIMSELF posted this moment, so it's not surprising everyone loves it, including meself.

2. The Iconic Coachella Kiss

This is honestly my favorite for 2 reasons:

It was the one of the few moments that were the closest to a kiss, there are a few others but this one is the most popular and most iconic because again of said reason in #1.

3. Sharing Clothes

This ones not really a moment but a collection of moments. I find it EXTREMELY FUNNY that whenever people do those "boyfriend style" things on Alex, you see the regular array of ex girlfriends or current girlfriend, and out of nowhere, it's just Miles HAHAHAHHA. LIKE IT'S FUNNY AS HELL. I find it kinda sweet that Miles is somehow the... consistent out of all of the styles, like no matter the era of Alex there's gonna be a moment where he shares clothes with Miles, compared to the others who obviously only ever share with him in one period. I guess that's the perks of being the best friend?

4. The Albums being called "their baby"

This one is a little more of a stretch because I've only ever seen it one time. In this interview Alex says "for the past 8 years we've considered...trying for another baby" then they both start laughing hysterically. hello! I saw your post about the G5 Hitch toy and as someone whose interest in G5 is only surface deep ATM but wants to know more bc My Little Pony is my special interest I was curious about the different lines of toys that have been released for G5. I have that exact Hitch toy as pictured, minus accessories, that I picked up in a thrift shop as a set with the rest of the ponies from the first movie and while I assumed that that was the standard size pony now I'm curious if there are different lines with different sizes. Apologies if this doesn't make sense as I'm very tired and thank you very much for your time! ฅ⁠^⁠•⁠ﻌ⁠•⁠^⁠ฅ

Hi there! MLP is my special interest too, LOL! You found the right person!! But you're in for a long answer, which you are probably prepared for, come to think of it!

tl;dr: There's multiple sizes, and the most common release seems to be the "brushable"/3" size, with the next biggest being the "styling size"/6".

It's tricky to 'officially' categorize the G5 line in general, I think, because it seems like every release is - IDK, maybe I'm just not in tune with the fandom stuff, but it's kinda random!? For starters though, Strawberry Reef is often a very good resource, although I know during the G4 line she fell behind a bit!

It does look like she has (almost) everyone covered so far, to my understanding!

In my mind, I kind of split them up into the "standard" line (the little guys with the jointed legs, the first line was released as the Crystal Adventure line I believe!), which would have been called the 'brushables' in the G4 line, but ... these all have sculpted hair! T_T And then there's some variations, like the Dollar General singles which do have brushable hair (yay!) except for Hitch, but they have no jointed legs. Strawberry Reef calls these "Regular Size 3"" which does imply that they're the 'standard' release.

And then I call the bigger ones (Strawberry Reef's "Large Size 6"") the styling size, because back in G4 days they were called that due to typically coming with a lot of styling/accessorizing type accessories. The little brushables might come with a comb or pet, but the big ones would get comb, clips, elastics, etc. (Not to be confused with the styling heads, of course, which you can see down at the bottom of SR's page!)

I believe (correct me if I'm wrong!) that the "movie set" of the 6" guys came in a big multipack with all of the characters, Mane Five and Sprout, and the way to tell Hitch apart is whether his hair is flocked or not. SR doesn't have him listed yet (so she is a little behind!), but the one I just got at the 99 Cent Store has flocked hair (and more accessories), and Hitch (and Sprout) from the group set from 2021 (as listed on SR's site) do not have flocked hair.

And that's not even getting into the Ponyville/Blind Bag/mini sized ones!! lmao!

ANYWAY, that was a big info-dump, but I hope it helped you and maybe anyone else who is confused! When I say styling size, that's mostly just me using a holdover from the G4 collector terms, since I don't think they call them that now. I think it's just like ... 'Sparkle Adventures'? But then they call the big multipack 'Shining Adventures', so I don't think there's any consistency there yet for collectors to latch onto. But there's several different sizes to find, and there's even GIANT ones, if you scroll down on SR's page! She has lots of fun info! Happy hunting!

Y/n: Oh shoot! Where’d I put my hair clip? *mumbles* Argh!!! Why right now?! Today is an important day!!!

All of a sudden, my bedroom door opens. My big brother walks in my room uninvitedly with his hands in his pockets. I look up and smile nervously with a pout taking over in frustration. He looks concerned of me. Taerae comes closer to me and tilts his head confusingly.

Taerae: Y/nnie are you okay? Are you hurt, scared, or nervous?

Shaking my head, I hug my brother whining.

Y/n: Oppa I can’t find my hair clip.

Taerae looks down at me, while dropping his arms from hugging me.

Taerae gives me his iconic side eye in disbelief. His stare piercing into my soul saying “ARE YOU KIDDING ME? REALLY?”

I glare with my eyes saying, “You really wanna ask that right now?”

He scoffs, and pats my back comforting me in the slightest sarcastic way.

Taerae looks down at me, but starts bursting out laughing pointing to my hair.

Y/n: Huh? *he takes something out of your hair while your hair falls down to your shoulders*

My eyes widen as he dangles my hair clip in my face smirking. Dang it Kim Taerae you make me feel so dumb!

Y/n: What would I do without my big brother?

I hug him again, while he puts my hair clip back on how it was before.

Taerae: Aigoo *dimple smile* My cute clumsy sister.

We both let out laugh. Shortly later, Taerae exits my room.

Author’s POV:

Today, Y/n was going to her normal favourite cat cafe. Her college final exams were finally over, so she thought to celebrate it with a coffee and cat day. Taerae was off work since his company decided the group deserved one. Which Y/n agreed, since her brother and the rest of the group worked so hard promoting this comeback. Y/n decided to invite Taerae along, this time to the cat cafe. Since, the two haven’t hung out much since his debut. This was a perfect time to have sibling bonding time, before he gets busy with new group schedules.

Y/n POV:

It would be my first time going to the cafe with someone and not by myself. I usually come to the cat cafe to relieve stress after any troubling classes or just needed a brain break. Which lately, that hadn’t been the case, since finals were coming up. My mind was on studying and staying up late until 2:00 am to write notes and looking over to prepare for each exam course. It was definitely stressful with a couple of times wanting to give up, but in the end persevered through. But, here I am, who did it and now celebrating going to my favourite comfort place. The bonus is bringing my brother along with me to catch up and spend time together. My brother is a great listener and is always there for me when I have to rant about stuff on my mind. I really missed him and always thought of him when stressing over school work. He would’ve been there comforting and listening to my problems.

Author’s POV:

As the two approach the entrance of the small cozy cafe, Y/n and Taerae take pictures to remember this fun sibling day. Taerae walks up first and opens the door for his sister.

Y/n POV:

Taerae walks up first and opens the door for me.

Y/n: Thanks oppa. *close your eyes remembering*

I forgot how much I missed the comfort bell whenever entering the cafe. I thought to myself.

I feel a tap on my shoulder and snap out of my thoughts.

Taerae: Y/nnie come on. *steps over the cafes safety baby gate*

Author Note:

The Cat cafe has a small baby gate, so the cats won’t escape by accident to wander off.

Y/n: Coming!!! *stepping over the baby gate with the help of Taerae brother* (shortie) T_T

I then guide Taerae where we put our shoes in the cubby drawers. Then, we both put on comfy slippers the cafe provides.

I then make my way to the cats with my big brother duckling following behind me. We decide to sit by the window in comfy chairs. The sun hugging us warmly even though it’s winter time.

As we sit down, cats come to approach us. My puppy duck like brother gets nervous at first, but soon warms up to the cats snuggling against him or in his lap.

A waitress soon comes with cute menus in her hands. I look up and recognise the owner. She smiles at Taerae and I welcomely.

Y/n: Hi unnie!!! Your favourite loyal customer is finally back from finishing finals!!!

??: Yes you are!!! Happy you are back once again Y/n-ah!!! *shifts her attention to Taerae* Ooh I see you brought a special someone.

Y/n: ani ani ani ani unnie!!! He’s my brother Taerae!!! The brother you don’t think exists because you never see him with me. *teases* Oppa this is my friend Shin Dara aka the owner of the cafe!!! Unnie this is my older brother Kim Taerae who does exist.

Dara: Yah! Y/n-ah!!! *glares but smiles*

Taerae: Nice to meet you Dara *bows in his seat politely*

Dara: Nice to meet you too Taerae-sshi. Happy to know you do exist. *fake smiles at me*

Taerae nods and chuckles flashing his usual dimple smile.

We both then shift back to order because we forgot why unnie came over. (“* ~*)

After Dara walks away, Taerae shifts his attention to me and flicks your forehead. Aish!!! Taerae exists definitely after that finger dent on my forehead. (< - _ -< )

Taerae: Y/n you said finals are over? You must be relieved and more relaxed. I bet this past month has been hard on you. I guess you come here often after college classes?

Y/n: *nods* I haven’t been in a while since my mind was on studying and staying up til 2:00 am to write notes and looking over to prepare for each course exam. It was definitely stressful, with a couple times of wanting to give up. In the end I persevered through. Here I am with my big brother; celebrating together at my favourite comfort place. Whenever I had stress outbursts or struggling, it was you I would think of too calm down. It’s not your fault you couldn’t be there in those moments, but you understand me better than myself. You let me rant to you and get stuff off my chest . . . like this morning about a stupid hair clip. I missed you so much oppa. I sound so selfish right now talking, but here you are always ready to hear with all ears.

Taerae POV:

My heart broke hearing Y/n’s stress and how I couldn’t be there. I know she said it’s not my fault, but can’t help think if I was there . . . maybe she wouldn’t have gone through so much stress. She usually has to rant to get the nerves off to release extra pressure. I wasn’t there to help unfortunately this time. I’m scared she might’ve had to deal with more than just finals. Did she suffer more when I was in Seoul for the past year? Plus boys planet? She was happy for me, but I’m her brother first before a ZEROBASEONE member or celebrity. School has always been an obstacle for her. Does she anyone else besides me to talk to? I mean she only really is outgoing with me. I’m her number one comfort and only family near her. I’m so glad she has Dara and the cats, but maybe she can hangout with Gyuvin or Ricky? They are all the same age. Should I plan a day of fun for the 04’s and let them invite Y/n? It’s not a bad idea. Hanbin did give me the idea but never thought about giving it a try.

All of a sudden I snap out of my thoughts and look at my sister. She’s waiting for a response. I clear my throat and give her my undivided attention.

Taerae: Y/n-ah I’m sorry. *Y/N eyes widen* *looks down guilty* I am sorry I wasn’t there to comfort or be your ears to let your inner voice out when you needed it the most. Before a member or a celebrity, but your brother first. But, I failed this time. I know you said it’s not my fault, but I can’t help to think if I was there instead of promoting. You could’ve gotten some stuff off your chest. I know you don’t have mom and dad near you. I am the only person you trust enough to open up to and show your true self. Do you have any friends other than me? Do you talk to Dara about the stress?

Y/n: Taerae please don’t feel sorry. I already feel selfish telling my problems when I know you have a new life now. Dara is the other person than you I have. She listens to me almost as good as you, *chuckles* but you come first. Uni is lonely. To be honest, I might take a year off after this school year. Dara said if I ever quit college that I could work here. I’m considering doing that.I’ve struggled enough throughout my school years and now uni is making my stress levels unbearable. These days, I wish for someone to love me.*mumbles last part silently but loud enough for me to hear*

Hmm a lover? Y/n I might have someone in mind. Luckily, she has the greatest flattering brother. Me. Don’t worry Y/nnie!!! You will find someone.

Y/n’s POV:

Taerae: You’ve never met any of the members huh? *shake my head*

Y/n: No. Why? I’ve only seen pictures from you and sometimes on social media.

Taerae: I was thinking maybe you could meet Gyuvin and Ricky. You know they are your age and it wouldn’t be bad to have two more friends. Plus, Hanbin gave me the idea since I talk to him about you a lot. He is the leader after all and loves too listen to our thoughts and personal thoughts. Hanbin Hyung takes care of us well, along with Hao Hyung. What do you say?

Y/n: Hanbin oppa sounds like you oppa. He sounds very understanding and comfortable to be around. I am happy you are taken care of well by your members. I’m scared to hangout with two boys. You are super chill, but I don’t know about them that much.

Taerae: I knew you would say something on the lines like that. How about we video call first and see if you feel comfortable. Gyuvin can be bit of a handful.To be honest, he’s like a golden retriever who never runs out of energy. Ricky is more shy and reserved. Unlike Gyuvin, Ricky is chill and doesn’t say much. He's like a cat.

Y/n: Sure oppa!

Taerae smiles at me, then he gives me goofy thumbs up. We both laugh soon after. Then Dara comes with our coffee orders. We both nod politely at her.

Y/n: Thanks Dara!!! I love your green tea hot lattes!!!

Taerae: *nods* Can’t wait to try my caramel dalgona latte!!! Thanks for also being a wonderful friend to Y/n.

He gives her his signature dimple smile and she nods shaking her hand blushingly. I laugh.

Hi! I took a break from the college art finals prep and I saw your retro filter post. I don't work in Clip Studio Paint, however I'm curious, what do retro filters do? I can tell there's a visual difference, but I can't figure out what the filter did. Also, I'm so excited for you that some of your writing blocks have ebbed away!

Hello~! I’m not entirely sure either, lol, I don't understand a lot of the fancy stuff (took me a hot minute to even figure out how to get these filters to work) but here's the folders for the specific filters. I only really understand the blurs and opacity bits. (It's embarrassing how long it took me to realize what opacity was) Blending modes, flattening images- all that stuff has me like, "Huh???"

I have much respect for the people who creates these kind of filters and just brushes in general because it all just flies over my head and I would cry without them. Also, they're just really fun to use. :3

despite your recommendation i ended up watching EJ bc i was SO curious to see just how bad it was and yeah.. what even was that lol. im glad that those involved in making the show had fun reuniting but that def didn't feel like IPK, more like a parody. i don't think ill have any trouble forgetting about this and not considering it canon lol

the rewind commentary (or at least whatever clips i could find on youtube) was so sweet tho, loved getting more insight into arnav's mind and feelings. as an introvert myself, i will always be able to understand how difficult it can be for someone like arnav to verbalize his feelings, especially in retrospect when you are filled with remorse for your actions. but on the flip side, it was lovely to see him also talk about all these moments and recognize that he was in love all along (which we knew all along but it's nice to hear it from him too) 🥰

now im rewatching clips here and there of IPK again and i think i know which might be my fav scene. it's during ep 182 (i think) when arnav is helping khushi with food the afternoon of akash and payal's wedding and the neighbourhood thinks he's a waiter. that whole sequence where he's just flirting with her with the bowls in the plate and him saying she can thank him later.. like i can't get that out of my head 😵‍💫 we don't get to see playful arnav too often (esp in the first half of the show) but this was def one of those moments that gave ME butterflies in MY stomach lol 🤭 like yeah we get more heated scenes than this but idk im stumped as to why i like this scene so much. am i crazy or is this a scene the fandom generally likes as well?

So the last page is actually 21, but I couldn't bring myself to break up the other pages. I actually liked how some of them turned out. Now that this story has ended, I'll need to start on a new story board for the next story. I want to do a short Hisashi one(Or maybe two) before going to the next stage where Izuku and Shoto Todoroki form an emotional bond. The story will be about why he's gone, and why there are no pictures of him. I'm sorry everyone who got annoyed at me for posting all the pictures at once T_T If there was no picture limit I would of only showed the cover with some preview pics, then the entire comic under the keep reading part. Now that I know about that limit, I'll keep in mind on how to properly split the comic. Artist notes: Story: I kind of wanted to do a Home Alone kind of story, where the kids mess up the adult's plans. I dunno I think it's cute when kids beat the adults. I thought a kidnapping story would be fun, and I remember hearing about how some people lure children with candy or a small animal. Like a cat or dog. So I put it in there with the white van. I also wanted to do a story that explains Izuku's other nick name Lois Lane. While Katsuki didn't mean it in a negative way, Izuku saw it as another way to call her useless. Katsuki on the other hand, called her that because he developed a fantasy of her being his damsel in distress. Originally I was going to give them a brother and sister kind of relationship, but then I thought this route would give them a lot of drama. I wanted Katsuki to have a developing relationship with Izuku, where the goal is for him to acknowledge and accept her as a hero. I don't know if I'll get there, but will keep going as much as I can. Oh and Inko, I thought it would be fun to have her buff, but not like Mirko or Nana. I wanted her to be wider, like a weight lifter. So in this version, Izuku really looks up to her mom as a result. Inko realizes she can't always be there to protect Izuku, so she gave her self-defense items in case something happened. The Ochako story I've been meaning to get around. I wanted to show more interactions with her and other girls. Because Ochako is Izuku's first female friend, Izuku is very excited. She has a tendency to over think on how to approach others, and she really wants to have a female friend. Art: These pages took a lot longer then I would of liked. I am trying to look up ways to cut down on my workflow but it's just faster to use half-tone patterns in clip studio. Some of them turned out great, and I would like to explore quicker ways to color the pages. I am learning new techniques, and slowly getting better. I think the webtoon way is also easier to read and follow, than when I did the Manga method. So I may stick with the colored version. Just need more materials to help get the job done faster. Which ones did you guys think was easier to read? Thank-you for reading these, and for your patience. It makes doing these worth it ^_^

Andor 7

-Oh my god the music! THE MUSIC! T_T it’s all I want from my star wars.

-I continue to LOVE the worldbuilding. Just every other new series just bites it compared to this. Andor is doing WILD things with worldbuilding. I love it. From Coruscant. CORUSCANT to Ferrix. The diversity is exactly what I would want from my star wars.

-They’re also doing a really interesting arc on Andor. While I too miss the idea of always devout Andor (”in this fight since I was 6″), and think that could have been a fascinating thing to explore, I’m also enjoying how non-linear his path is. I think it’s a gusty choice in narration. Like he really does go and do his own thing and fucks off to some rando tourist hell and lolololol. I love it so much.

-Lucien has grabbed my attention in his confrontation with Mon. I appreciate him more now as the node that connects high society with what’s happening on the ground. I feel like that’s an angle sorely needed and another point where the series is making an astute intervention into the franchise undoing the distance either rebel fighters/politicians that holds for a lot of it. I always did want more of the nitty gritty of how the rebellion gets formed. This is not exactly that (I’m more interested in how the different partisan alignments get consolidated and who gets clipped out and who gets brought into the fold), but it’s closer than any other live action media has gotten iirc.

-I am disappointed at not getting a super awkward dinner party, but the fucking amazing tunics and the vibe of it all was a great consolation prize, as was Tay’s “my politics might be too harsh for your tastes” or whatever. HAHAHA. Love me some irony. I just wanna roll in the Caligula feels of Coruscant but I guess that comes way later. I don’t know I just LOVE CORUSCANT SO MUCH. *flails*

-Um Lucien’s attendant’s clothing was omg FANGASM. Vel too. Lady sekrit agent meetings aaaaaaaaaaaaa. I don’t need a lot, you know? I’m just a lady of very specific tastes.

-I am enjoying the whole close fist rhetoric and its echoes. Good job referencing ANH and the more you tighten your fist the more star systems will escape through your fingers line. The spat at the ISB’s meeting was a fun time as was Syril and his avoidance of the robot mice. He sounds like he will be back on track (before possibly flaming out?) before the series ends.

-Have I mentioned THE MUSIC aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Sometimes star wars is for meeeee.

Anyway so very excited about more in this world.

Traditional beginning of Makoto getting Haru out of the pool and no chan is you know, we can't skip that, its how every season starts, even I'd feel upset without it. Although I'm just a bit afraid a certain part of the fandom would go crazy bc of the fact that they didn't bother to redraw it from 3x01 and it might just get into their usual you didnt even care to draw that one scene for my ship again. I’m hoping that in a few hours I’ll have finished Doverhill, Willard’s Rest, Hamish’s House (I’m pretty sure I can go inside now), Catfish Jackson which I never got the outside of, I’m gonna see if I can get a few Lake/Pond posts done to. I’m also working on Outfit posts of the outfits you can get in the stores (like I list each part that you can change on them and which parts are exclusive to the outfit, etc.)

(I do also have to finish the rest of the legendary stuff cause I need Arthur’s drawings of those.)

I’m also working on a master list of audio clips from @scarfacemarston ‘s blog (I asked and they said it was okay ^_^ thank you again) I’m sorting through them all, separating them on a google doc so i can make the page and posts for them. There’s clips from April 2020 to now(March 2022) and going backwards I’ve gotten to mid June 2020 lol so that’s a bigger process of this project but I’m excited for it (Cause I also get to listen to a bunch of audio from the game ^^ and I can do it on my laptop anywhere as opposed to just my room)

Street Dance of China, Season 4, Episode 4

- I’ve had issues with Tumblr not saving my posts again v.v I’ll just save often and hope that that does the trick.

- Latrice and Ibuki reenacting HB’s performance haha. From the behind the scenes clips I’ve seen, Ibuki does speak English, so I like to think they are now friends :D

- Hilty & Bosch have known each other since they were six years old T_T That’s cuuuute. Apparently they don’t get into arguments a lot because they always keep a distance between them XD Good strategy.

- San’er’s performance was great! He definitely brings the entertainment in his creativity (including incorporating a story line), but he doesn’t forget about the technical parts of dancing (the popping).

- Bouboo cheering on Rochka when he challenged Jianyan :P

- This spinning move he did was neat

- 不咋地 is going to be the recurring inside joke between Yibo, Rochka, and Bouboo ^^;;

- Yixing singing the SDOC theme song again XD With his super low energy voice XD

- Yibo was tipping the bench which was why Yixing and Henry were like, rocking back and forth at the same pace lol.

- Admittedly George vs. C-Lil was kind of rough. George tried to include Chinese elements in his performance, but he was injured, so he couldn’t really showcase them, and the latter part of his performance became just a typical contemporary dance. C-Lil’s performance was alright, but I think the judges were expecting something more impressive. While break dancing is very impressive to watch, I am starting to see the limitations of it, because if a dancer is not impressive, they are just kind of mediocre. George and C-Lil weren’t able to bring anything superbly impressive, which I think it was difficult for them to vote. Yibo abstained, and C-Lil got two votes, so C-Lil advanced.

- Zyko was incredible as always. It fascinates me how he’s mostly performed with these ballad type songs that don’t really have a beat. Also his flexibility is insane. I’m glad he got through with four votes because we need to see him more.

- I really liked Chika’s performance! I feel like women’s dancing is sometimes a bit limited in the mainstream because people just expect them to look sexy. It isn’t as much the case on this show because all of the ladies on this show are dancers and not idols or pop stars. But anyway, I just love seeing women dance without their bodies being sexualized. Chika’s dance showcased not only control over her body, but POWER. I loved her big movements. Compare the power that she shows vs. the power that say, Ibuki shows. Ibuki is a much smaller lady and it shows in her proportions, so how she expresses power looks different from how Chika expresses power, and Chika’s is the sort of power that I’ve really looked forward to seeing.

- Rochka fanboys over everybody, I love it. Keep spreading the love, dude.

- Ok, Xiaoji’s performance was pretty entertaining. I am not kidding when I say my jaw dropped, at the same time that all the captains went OH SNAP. But this guy definitely has charisma and stage presence. His confidence made up for his lack of ability to improvise XD I was CACKLING when this guy thought the song was done and Yibo was like “bro there’s more” and Xiaoji had to come up with something to end it off lol. I wouldn’t say his challenge was as good as Xiaohai’s, mostly because he hadn’t memorized the music like Xiaohai did. In terms of technical stuff, his performance did seem more impressive than Lai Wei’er’s, but he also did less “stuff” (like, there were a lot of pauses in his dance probably because he didn’t now the music). But Xiaoji’s was definitely more entertaining, though that may just be because of who he is and not his dancing. (By the way, Xiaoji’s real name is 林森. I thought the name 林木森 was just a joke because of how much wood was in it. I never guessed that someone would name their kid 林森 X’D Guess his 八字 indicated that he had a weakness in wood or something lol)

- Have some laughing captains, it’s good for the soul.

- Acky-san acknowledged that he’s probably not going to beat the younger dancers in terms of technique, so what he brought instead was style. The “robot” style of popping is pretty old, but no one else has done it in this competition probably because it’s so old school, and he definitely delivered in a way that only he could.

- Henry singing Frere Jacques with the French contingent X’D

- Thoughts on Han Yu vs. Boris. I can imagine what Han Yu was going for in his original performance, but I don’t think it worked. I don’t have the vocabulary to explain it, but basically the way his performance was choreographed just didn’t really impress. As Yibo mentioned, Boris was impressive in his dance to Han Yu’s music, but his dancing didn’t suit the song as much as Han Yu’s did. So the original dance + challenge was a matter of impressiveness vs. whether the dancing suited the music. Han Yu shone in the battle. I think he seemed a lot more impressive when back in a hip hop sort of groove, music that has a lot of major beats, compared to the piano music that was less grand an epic. As for Boris, I think that seeing a few of his performances in succession showed that his toolbox is a little limited in comparison to Han Yu. It hate to see Boris go because I loved his battle against Zyko but alas. I also wanted him to stay because he’s one of the few non-Chinese contestants who speak Mandarin relatively well. He had no issues speaking in Mandarin with most of the Chinese people on set. The ending was hilarious, when he was asked whether he had any last words, and Boris was like “well, I’m literally going to see these guys in two seconds when I’m back in the audience, I’m not dying” lmao.

- I don’t know how I feel about how the show has decided to deal with the last 29 contestants, of which three would be chosen to join the 49 dancers advancing. They’re competing fairly with the other contestants that haven’t performed yet, but they’re at a disadvantage compared to the previous contestants that were judged individually. For example, what if the fourth best dancer was better than a dancer that had already entered the 49? It would only be fair if the judges were allowed to take out people from the 46 contestants that had passed. It would’ve been a bigger problem if there were still a lot of big names to go though. Most of the best dancers have already secured a spot for themselves, so I think that’s why I’m not like, the most perturbed.

- I was low key waiting for Xiao Jie’s performance because his audition performance during episode 1 was so amusing. I thought his individual performance was fun! He managed to add some creativity and story telling (Chinese dude getting drunk) but also showcase some of his specialty skills (locking).

- I forgot to mention this before, but it amuses me that so the editing team will so diligently put in a “don’t try this at home” warning message whenever a dancer does a dangerous move haha.

- So the captains are doing a dance battle for the reborn event, but I’m not really sure how this is all gonna work. I’m digging Yixing’s look for the battle btw.

- Anyway, pre-battle hugs for all.

- KRUMPMASTER. Also I think he did some of the routine that he did back in Season 3.

- Not gonna lie, I wasn’t super impressed with Han Geng’s first dance but his second dance was pretty hype.

- Lol Yibo feels most comfortable challenging Yixing during his battles. He did move where he dropped onto his back right after Yixing did it (i.e. being like you can do it but I can do it better). Based on what I saw of season 3, I think Yibo would call out Yixing in his performances then too.

- Yixing was definitely heavy on the krump side, though I actually thought his first performance was really interesting because there was barely any krump in that one. He mostly stuck to other elements. As we got through the other rounds, he became more krump heavy, and I think he lost a bit in terms of variety there.

- The thing about Han Geng is that he’s no longer as athletic, so he relies more on power and control, but he needs to make sure he does the right moves that showcase that.

- I think Yibo impressed me the most. He had a lot of variety in his arsenal and he was very entertaining. He is also quite athletic, so as long as he can imagine it, I think he can do it haha.

- As others mentioned, Henry was extremely creative. He used a lot of dance moves to show a certain action, like tugging a rope or playing pool and such.

- Anyway, big hugs.

- Yibo won the most points in the four rounds of the battle. This hug with Han Geng is uwu. Anyway, Tony Gogo mentioned that Yibo interpreted the music very well.

- Of course, Tony Gogo as well as the Gogo brothers praised Yixing for his krumping energy

- Philip said that Han Geng had a really good ear, and that was how he was able to take advantage of the best moments to unleash certain dances.

- The five contestants that were saved were A-wei, Boris, George, JC Jun, and Kelo & Uwa. I definitely think the editors purposely showed us more clips of them so that we’d grow attached lol. The only one of these five that I don’t quite remember is A-wei though. Anyway, very pleased that Boris is back haha.

- They were talking about songs they listened to in their childhood. Han Geng started singing a song about an Office Black Cat? XD I’m guessing it’s a cartoon haha. Yibo listened to Leehom Wang and Jay Chou. Henry mentioned that he looked up to Leehom because he was also an overseas Chinese, plus he played a lot of instruments (just like Henry). As expected, Yixing looked up to Jay Chou (after all, Jay Chou was one of the earliest artists to popularize using Chinese elements in pop songs). Yixing said he also liked Leehom Wang, JJ Lin, and Khalil Fong (I legit have not heard the name 方大同 in a long time so that took me by surprise lol).

- Yibo mentioned Li Ronghao and Yixing was like OH WAIT YEAH HIM TOO. We know from Idol Producer that Yixing and Li Ronghao are bros haha. The captain says “不榮藝 組合” which pronounced the same as “不容易 組合” which is something like “unlikely duo,” except the the 榮 is from Li Ronghao’s name and the 藝 is from Zhang Yixing’s name lol.
