The Sea and the Stars, Chap. 2 (Teaser)

Another teaser from the upcoming chap of the Jaylos and Malvie Pirate AU @telli1206 and I are co-writing. This time, a little Mal and Carlos banter... ;)

“What’s the matter?” Mal asks loudly, stepping up to confront him with her hands on her hips, one eyebrow raised. “This stuff can handle lightning, right? Should be able to handle a bit of jostling…”

“I told you,” Carlos answers, fingers half-curled at his sides. “They’re fragile and I just tuned them—”

“Stow the attitude, second mate, or I’ll have you reassembling them.”

“I’ll have to do that already,” Carlos bites back, narrowing his eyes to mirror Mal’s expression, “with the way you apes throw your shit around here. No wonder this ship looks like a suckin’ crud bucket!”
