that is a good idea, but (i know this sounds a bit odd without context so hear me out), gender is kind of a big thing in dune.

the thing that complicates everything is that the bene gesserit are only supposed to have girls (and have the ability to choose their childrens gender while pregnant because Skills) because one day there will be a male born as basically the Chosen One. until then, all the bene gesserit are supposed to have girls to have those girls become bene gesserit sisters and lead to the birth of the Chosen One.

but if sirius had been born a boy, which would have been walburga’s active betrayal against the bene gesserit, he would’ve been killed during the gom jabar test. walburga also would’ve been in an indescribable amount of danger if she went against the bene gesserits rule of only having daughters, and then had a boy that did not live up to the prophecies. it would not be good for her.

also walburga’s twin would’ve also been a bene gesserit too, and thus it wouldn’t matter which of their genetics passed onto sirius. same thing would happen.

and if walburga defied the bene gesserit twice by having two boys, well… let’s just say the bene gesserit order would’ve been pissed.

hypothetically if i made sirius and regulus half brothers that shared orion as a father, and regulus had walburga as his mother, who would sirius’s mother be? or would it be better to just make someone up?
