This page. This fucking page. It's from Chapter 8 and it's been taunting us for ages. And when we saw the Magatsumi, when we saw the fucking Magatsumi, we thought, this is it. This is where Sojo's flashback comes from.

Because it has to be, right? Look at the contrast, the field of flowers stained with blood, this is visual language, this is storytelling. So Sojo watched these people get anihilated by the Magatsumi/Shinuchi, that must mean he's from the other side of the Seitei War, right? RIGHT?!

Sojo is not from Shokoku. And yet, in a life defined by senseless slaughter and unethical experimentation, his darkest memory is still seeing the Shinuchi in use. Seeing people slaughtered by it, people who must've been important to him.

I'm starting to understand why the Sword Saint is kept under so much restriction.
