Moving on to the next 2-part adventure on this release, we reunite with the companions the Doctor left behind a few stories ago plus some familiar monsters. (Spoilers? Maybe, but they’re all on the cover.) without the Doctor, this is mostly an intimate, introspective, character-based episode, with the action coming to the fore at the very end. Aside from assuming the Doctor will eventually show up, I have no idea where this story is going. This nicely ended a pretty creepy 2-parter, but my response is pretty much focused on two thoughts. I usually don’t look at the credits right before I listen to an @bigfinishprod story, so I had no recollection that this was written by prolific (and personal favorite) comics writer Dan Abnett. The down side of falling behind on the monthly @bigfinishprod stories is I now find myself listening to a Halloween story in December. (At the same time I’m reading a collection of Doctor Who Christmas stories, coincidentally.) From the cover, it looks like we will be seeing some familiar faces eventually, but since this release seems to have two 2-part stories on it, I’m thinking that this opening tale will be relatively self-contained.
