been thinking about this a lot but i think one of the absolutely best things about dt's macbeth is his portrayal of the character's downright cruelty like he is so properly fucking horrifying at points and YET you still feel so fucking much for him anyway because at the same time you see this broken and traumatized man who keeps fighting and fighting and doesn't know how to stop
