Hello and welcome to the third annual FlonksFest, a celebration of two of the hottest witches we know, Fleur Delacour and Nymphadora Tonks. We love Fleur, we love Tonks, and we love them together best of all!

FlonksFest is a fun, friendly, low-pressure fest to share the love for this ship, and to encourage all types of fanworks about this iconic duo.

How does it work?

This year we’re making things even simpler than previous years. Didn’t think that was possible, did you? But never fear, your friendly mods remain committed to lowkey femslashing fun this summer!

There are no steps one or two this year, we’re jumping right into the good stuff!

STEP THREE - POSTING - THROUGHOUT AUGUST

This year, our event theme is Escapes. In that spirit, each week will have a general prompt:

Week 1 (Mon 3 Aug - Sun 9 Aug): Vacations & Holidays

Week 2 (Mon 10 Aug - Sun 16 Aug): Canon Divergence

Week 3 (Mon 17 Aug - Sun 23 Aug): International Settings (no UK or USA)

Week 4 (Mon 24 Aug - Sun 30 Aug): Wild AUs & Other Worlds

Post your submission any time during the appropriate week. Or post it in the wrong week, if you prefer. We’re pretty lax about inappropriate submissions.

All works should be posted to AO3 and/or Tumblr. If you prefer to use another social media site, email the mods a link to your submission (flonksfest@gmail.com) and we’ll post the link to Tumblr. When posting to AO3, please add your works to the FlonksFest Collection. 

When posting to Tumblr, please tag you post #FlonksFest and @flonksfest us for good measure (just on the off-chance that tags don’t work perfectly, y’know) so we can see and reblog everything. You can do this whether you are hosting your work directly on Tumblr or linking to AO3.

There’s no set template for posting - live free! - but please remember to rate and tag appropriately.

STEP FOUR - PROFIT?

The mods will post a masterlist and we’ll all bask in the warm glow of victory, proud of our roles in bringing more Flonks content into the world. Ahhh.

What can I make?

We welcome all kinds of fanworks. Fic, art, fanmixes, vids, and anything else you can think of. You want to perform an interpretative dance demonstrating your thoughts on how Fleur feels about Tonks’ hair and upload it to YouTube? We are here for that. Seriously, ANYTHING GOES!

There is no minimum word count or any particular requirement for other works.

The only rule is that all works must focus on Flonks. Other background pairings are welcome, so long as Fleur and Tonks are centre stage.

Any other guidelines?

Yes! Please be mindful of portraying marginalized communities respectfully. This page from Writing With Color has a list of blogs and resources that discuss diversity in writing. Any creations submitted in bad faith, or that promote racism, transphobia, homophobia, etc. will not be accepted.

In particular, your mods welcome and encourage trans, nonbinary, and gnc characterizations for this fest. Trans women are women, and their voices must be heard and uplifted now more than ever. Transmisogyny has no place here, or in any sapphic space that claims to be feminist. This includes microaggressions as well; no hint of bigotry will be tolerated.
