Wonho anxiously paced back and forth, nibbling on his lower lip, trying to calm himself down while waiting for the doctor to come out from the operating room. The boys were sitting on the benches on the side, utterly speechless and worried. They never expected this to happen.
It has been four straight hours since they’ve got the call from [y/n]’s friend. Worry and fear were already starting to build up in their hearts. Lost in their own train of thoughts, the sound of the doors open snapped them out. A man with green scrubs and a pair of gloves appeared with two nurses trailing behind him.
“May I ask for the relatives of Ms..... [y/n]?” The man looked up and met the gaze of Wonho, who walked up to him with worry plastered all over his face. “I am.” Upon hearing Wonho’s claim, the doctor did not hesitate and proceeded in announcing the result and their findings.
“The operation is successful however there is a big possibility that she may experience post-traumatic amnesia due to the impact of her head on the concrete ground when she got hit by a car. But all in all, we treated all of the broken bones and some bruises. It might also take some time for her to wake up. I guess that’s all that I need to say. We’ll be checking on her from time to time to check on her condition. If there aren’t any questions, please excuse me and she’s brought to her room, 0514.”
Without hearing any responses, the man left immediately with the nurses trailing behind him. The boys stood up and pats Wonho by the shoulder, bringing him back to his senses before heading towards your room.
“Uhm... not to be rude but who are you guys? and.... who am I?”
Everyone’s mind went blank after hearing your questions right after you just woke up from your 10 hours of unconsciousness. The nurse who was with them felt sorry for the boys and decided to talk to Shownu, explaining to him that your condition wasn’t that serious since there is a big chance that [y/n] would be able to recall all of yourmemories.
“You... don’t know who you are and who we.... are?” Despite being shocked by what just happened, Jooheon was able to return the question back to you. You nodded your head, unsure if you were answering his question correctly.
‘If ever she wakes up, there are questions that could hurt but an advice from someone who also experienced this before, try to understand and fill those blank spaces with all the information you guys can. It’d be a big help... really.’
It was sure that these exact same words repeated over and over in the boy’s minds. Shownu, who just came back from talking with the nurse, took a deep breath and decides to follow what the nurse advice them.
"I know that you’re confused right now, and you can’t remember anything... so, how ‘bout we introduce ourselves to you once again, [y/n]?”
The sound of your name being said felt weird. “Wait... so my name is [y/n]?” you cock your head to the side while furrowing your eyebrows. “Yes and we’re your friends, [y/n] and this guy here,” Shownu pauses for a moment and places a hand on Wonho’s shoulder, making him look up, “is your boyfriend who loves you so much.”
“I have a boyfriend?”
Ever since you’ve waken up and started to ask tons of questions, the boys would constantly visit you from time to time with foods in their hands but Wonho didn’t budge, he’s been beside you 24/7 and the only time he went home was when your parents arrived and made him go home to rest and take a bath.
“Wait, don’t tell me I love these kinds of stuff?!” You gaped at Wonho, who showing you a picture of yourself while holding cute stuff. “Yeah, you always love it when I buy you a new plushie to your collection.” Wonho was surely taken aback when he saw your face scrunch up and your lips turning into a frown.
“Why? Do you not believe me?” Nodding your head in response, Wonho couldn’t think of something in response to your claim. He fell silent for a moment before snapping out from his own train of thoughts when you spoke up.
You transferred your gaze to the window and took a deep breath, “Why do you still come here when you know that I don’t remember a single thing about you?” your voice lost its twinkle. You were the complete opposite of who you were. From a jolly and optimistic woman to a different and pessimistic woman.
“I... actually don’t know... Maybe it’s because that I love you so much that seeing how you couldn’t remember a single thing about yourself, your family, the boys and especially... me.... I just... I don’t know.”
Wonho’s voice was soft, too soft for his liking. “I don’t know if I can ever bring back those memories that we’ve created... but I hope that this can help.” Wonho brings out a scrapbook from his bag and passes it to you, “In this scrapbook, you may see pictures from all our adventures, with your family, with the boys, with your friends and with me.”
Accepting the scrapbook with both of your hands, your eyes observed every single detail there is to it. It was brown scrapbook with a white ribbon that closes it. Tracing the sides of the ribbon you carefully tug the end, untangling it from the knot.
“I guess... I should give you some time then. I’ll be back later alright?” Wonho stands up from his seat, unable to look at you as his tears were already starting to well up in his eyes.
“A-alright.” you stammered while looking up to him. Feeling a pang of guilt made you look at him with worry, staring at his retreating back until it disappears into the other side of the door. Transferring your attention back to the scrapbook, you flipped the cover and saw a lot of pictures with descriptions on it.
You could see that it was just recently made and it gave you butterflies inside your tummy. The first page was a picture of you with your family, with the boys and with Wonho. Below each photo, it had details about your family, the boys like how all of you met each other and Wonho, how the two of you started dating.
The brown scrapbook consists of 80 brown leaves, each holding four to five photos with detailed descriptions. You couldn’t believe how someone could fill the whole scrapbook up in just a limited amount of time made you well up. Flipping through the pages, you studied each and every detail until you slowly drifted off to sleep.
Bits and pieces were already starting to pile up. May these memories be just those little things, you couldn’t help but feel happy that you were able to slowly remember this things. Waking up from your slumber, you looked around and saw the back of Wonho while he prepares your dinner by stacking up the tupperware on the table.
You hesitated if you should either tell him about the things that you’ve slowly remembered through your dreams. Fiddling on to your hospital gown, you took a deep breath before speaking up, “Hey, Wonho.” Startled by your sudden remark, a small yelp left Wonho’s lips, making you chuckle.
“O-oh, you’re awake. So, how was your day?” He casually asked with his hands preoccupied by setting up the bed table.  “It was kinda okay. I fell asleep throughout the whole afternoon though.” Upon hearing your reply, Wonho nods his head and turns around with the table in his hands.
“Here, eat up. It’s already past seven so I bet you’re hungry,” Wonho paused as he settled the table on your lap, “And we’ve prepared your favorite! Bibimbap and kimchi stew.” Your eyes gladly roamed through the various colors in front of your.
“Wow, this looks great but... where’s the gochu?” Wonho looked at you weirdly. Gochu was clearly not your thing since you hated its taste. Noticing his furrowed brows, you scratched the back of your head and asked, “Do I not like gochu?”
“W-well...” Wonho’s voice trailed off as he tries to rack some words to answer your question, “You clearly didn’t like the taste of gochu..”
“How about the raw egg yolk?”
“You also didn’t like raw egg yolk, [y/n].” Weird. You thought as you tried your best to understand what he’s trying to say. “Oh... how about the side dishes?” you asked once more.
“Oh, their here.” Wonho pulled the paper bag beside him and brings out the small tupperware filled with various side dishes before placing it on your table. “Thank you.” you started to dig in and moaned as the taste of bibimbap and kimchi stew together was just heaven.
Picking a piece of bean sprout, you showed it to Wonho and beamed, “This is really delicious, I bet this is my favorite.” To your dismay, Wonho shakes his head and corrects you once more, “Sadly, no... your favorite side dish would be the seasoned spinach.”
“Oh... well, since I’ve been getting the things that I liked wrong.. how ‘bout you tell me some stories and whatnots?”
Weeks has passed and Wonho and [y/n] were slowly getting along with each other, and also with the boys. It was another day for you to spend time with the boys. Each passing day, you were slowly remembering some of your memories and you were happy about it; it was also expected since the head injury you had was only mild. You haven’t really told any of the boys yet but you’ve actually planned to tell them someday.
Making your way towards the waiting area with your IV pole beside you, you head straight to the vending machine and entered a couple of hundred won on before pressing on the button for the milkis. After getting your drink, you wiped the top with your hospital gown before opening it.
Walking back to your room with your drink on the left and your iv pole on the right, you tried to open the door with your elbow when a hand grabbed on the handle for you, making you look up and flash the biggest smile that you’ve ever had.
“Here you go, [y/n].” It was Kihyun who opened that door for you and you thanked him for it. Looking back the boys were there except for one person. “U-uh, come on in guys.” Entering the room first before them, you casually walked towards your bed before plopping your butt on the comfy mattress.
“Uh... where’s Wonho by the way?” this was the first thing that came out from your mouth once the boys were finally inside the room. “Oh, he had to go somewhere.” Hyungwon nonchalantly answered as he made himself comfy on the couch.
“Oh...” It’d be useless to deny that it feels empty without Wonho around but you’re quite thankful to have these guys around. “So, guess what...” Changkyun looked at you with a sly smirk plastered on his face.
“What?”
“I’ve brought monopoly!” He beamed while bringing out the board game out from his sling bag, making everyone look at him with a ‘-_____-’. “Does this mean you have plans in destroying our friendship?”
“W-what?! N-no...”
Wonho panted heavily as he tried to get to the bus stop. Hands on his knees, he takes a deep breath before proceeding to his journey to the bus stop. In his hands was four paper bags filled with things that might help you remember. Finally the bus has arrived and Wonho got in with a smile plastered on his face.
“Wait.... what do you mean?” Minhyuk asked with his mouth wide open. You couldn’t really help but tell the boys about the good news. “You seriously... remembered something?” Shownu looked at you with such seriousness, making you burst out laughing.
“Yeah, I’m starting to remember stuff now. Sometimes, in the middle of pooping, I can remember the time when I accidentally threw something to Jooheon which made him scream really loud.”
“You seriously have to bring that up now, [y/n]? Really?” Jooheon pouted and whined, making the others laugh. “I have to so that you guys can believe what I’m saying.”
The boys were all smiles, who wouldn’t be happy to hear that their dear friend finally remembered something. “Well, have you told Wonho about it?” Kihyun asked, to which you replied with a ‘no’.
“Well, you better tell him so or--”
Claaaannnggggggg!!!
With a loud thud, you fell on the floor but Hyungwon was able to catch you before your head met the floor. You accidentally slammed your head onto the IV pole when you were about to get something from the table and everything happened so fast, all the nurses rushed to your room and boys were told to wait at the waiting room.
Wonho, who finally arrived at the hospital lobby, got a call from Shownu and heard about what just happened, making him rush towards the elevator with a panicked look all over his face.
Seeing the faces of his friends in the lobby made his shoulders drop. “What happened?” he asked as soon as he got closer to them. “She.... clumsily slammed her head on the IV pole...” Changkyun looked away, along with the others as they tried to avoid Wonho’s piercing gaze.
“What?!”
“Yeah.... we were talking about something when--”
“W-where’s the relatives of Ms. [y/n]?” a nurse frantically came out from the room, making the boys look at her and point at Wonho. “Sir, please come with me immediately! I think.. .I think she finally remembered...”
Without any hesitation, Wonho ran towards your room with the nurse with his heart beating so fast. Bursting in with his heart pounding loudly, his eyes fell on the sight of you sheepishly rubbing the back of your head with a smile.
“[y/n]...”
Upon hearing his voice, you slowly turned to him and smiled. You gestured him to come closer. Wonho was finally close to you, you grabbed him by the hand and said words that you’ve been wanting to say after this whole time,
“I love you and don’t worry, I finally remembered everything thanks to you.”
