so far in my journeys i've encountered like 11 recurring x-men tropes/staples : -Magneto attacks with his brotherhood and all that (the original) -The Blob -Cerebro -young mutant girl narrowly escapes capture by the bad guys and is subsequently (unofficially) adopted by wolverine -the fucking scott-jean-logan love triangle -mutant cure oh noooo -Senator Kelly -a dam brakes -sbaretooth and wolverine fight in a snowy environment -Professor Xavier run off! whatever shall the team do -Cherik.

probably will add more as i go it's just funny to me how i watch/read one thing and this thing happens or shows up then i watch/read another thing and the same thing happens or shows up. yeah i guess that's how adaptations work but it's a very interesting experience

#yael's x men ramblings #<-i have to have a tag for everything to keep track of things #there's also rogue being messy as hell but i don't like the foxverse version of it so i left it out #also. occurred to me these don't apply to new mutants as far as i've read #so just about the foxverse the animated series (92) and the original 63 comics #magneto and/or his brotherhood are in all of them #so is the blob. surprisingly. didn't think the foxverse would go for that #cerebro is different in every adaptation but it's there #the dad-wolverine one was in the foxverse with rogue and i guess with laura and in the animated series with jubilee #tho you might say the entire team adopted jubilee basically #mutant cure was in the foxverse and is in the animated series #same with senator kelly #as for the dams. one in alkali lake and one on genosha #fascinating phenomenon #then sabretooth and wolverine fight in a snowy environment in the first x-men and in the animated series #charles runs off in the 63 comics and where i'm at in the animated series he also run off and i think in the foxverse he died then he's #gonna transfer his consciousness to a different body? (haven't gotten there yet i just saw him die) which counts. i think #cherik are simply there and make it everyone's problem always

Stevie on the most fucking perfect killer queen dress you could ever think about, Robbie and them decided on going to see a drag performance and then fuck around a little, dance and be so fucking fabolous and pretty and all

AND

Robin isn't there, she's running late. Why didn't he pick her up? Well, Robs was staying at Chrissy's and she was dropping them. As Steve's sent a message to Chris and she told her that she already left Robbie there, so Stevie went to check out outside.

Robs there, uncomfortable, searching a way to enter the club, their eyes scanning the street, fear on her eyes.

Steve sees there's a man with her, has them by her wrist and is awfully close

What a fucking dumbass

AND THEN BAM

Steve does that shit they did on the Russian base you know, the think that he picked up that thing and hit the Russian guard

But

Now it's her heel they quickly put in his own hand in two seconds and hit the man in the face once they see Robin being touched

And she thinks "not again" because they didn't know what happened to Robin in the Russian base but he can imagine

So he knocks out the man with her heel

"I get you're jealous because she pulls more girls than you would never but there's no need to be an asshole" And then she spits on the man eye "ya infertil ass, next one I'm gonna rip your balls and make me earrings with them"

And then she switches back as their sweet self "Are ya okay Robs?"

"Perfectly fine Stevie"

Robin's eyes goes from scared and empty to fondly and full of love as she looks at Steve. Stevie smiles softly and takes of their face a stroke of hair.

" 'm glad, wanna enter again?" Steve offers their hand and his soulmate takes it as they enter the club, Nelly Furtado singing Maneater as they do

And it's fucking epic

And they rule.

So I hit my 700th edit for the WHA wiki today, because I am a totally normal person

#For the record I have been there for. 27 days.#That makes an average of 26 edits a day which is even more terrifying because I definitely was not updating every day #Also this is for the Telepedia Wiki not the Fandom one #Anyway you should check it out!#In maybe a week because the website cache is super slow for some reason when you're not logged in #But I'm having fun #The nice thing about working on a wiki where there's actually other people doing stuff #Is that they can do the boring stuff like character bios and etc while I run around doing the fun stuff like pages on animals and plants #Anyway I was working on the Eldroxen page which are the big fluffy ox from the Silver Eve Procession #And it was so funny collecting info on them from the main series and then checking Kitchen real quick and SURPRISE! THEY'RE EATING IT!#I mean I should have expected this after having watched Dungeon Meshi and yet~~~#Also funny was that I copy+pasted the page coding for one the (food) animals as a template for this giant Mole-worm beast page but #forgot to remove the line about it being for food and afterwards had a laugh and then removed it #But now I'm like. They probably WOULD eat that sucker. Giant mole worm/snake/dragon thing? That'd feed a whole town!#Qifrey could have an entire audience watching how he'd prepare and season it #Anyway if you've been wondering where I've been that's it #Also funny story: during the Covid pandemic I stayed employed when my coworkers got let go because they needed me to catalogue an entire #new set of guided reading books; and have these sets have a digital checkout instead of the old-school card catalog we were literally still #using in 2020. Anyway I went all out with the organization of the books and the boxes and even made a reference binder for the books #via subject so teachers/tutors could find specific subjects and reading levels etc #(I'd have done a digital way to search for results but honestly half the teachers couldn't figure out how to sign in to the laptop. So.)#Anyway. Only a handful of teachers actually used these books and two years later the school switched to a new reading program #that came with its own set of books and lessons so this 10k reading set was essentially unneeded (and my dear coworkers never got rehired)#Anyway I learned last week that they're clearing out that room and all of those barely-used books are getting thrown out 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃#Isn't that funny #Literally everything is just sandcastles built in the surf #I'm so glad I already accepted this during my pumpkin carving years because otherwise I think I'd be upset #Anyway I'm gonna go play my spooky fishing game

I think it's about that time in my loop of fixations where I watch all of Sanders Sides from start to finish

#a new video being released always gets me super into the show for a few weeks #and then the interest lies dormant for a while until we get something new #i think it's super cool that thomas and co are making really ambitious cool stuff for the series but i do really miss it in the meantime #at this point i'm convinced the season finale is gonna be like four feature length movies and they're making that with just a small team 😭#they're kinda insane (affectionate)

coming out of my baldurs gate 3 delirium (aka i am working a night shift and can't physically play it. at work.) to say that horikoshi. horikoshi when i GET YOU. you are NOT leaving izuku with no quirk and no arms. i am in your walls

#bnha spoilers #also. more evidence that horikoshi read zero-sum game #like come on the twins thing the izuku losing his quirk thing the losing his arm thing the shiggy getting decay from afo thing #TELL ME THE TRUTH HORIKOSHI. DID YOU READ MY FANFIC.#i'm joking of course. he's just done a really good job of foreshadowing through the series. its a marker of an amazing author #and i know that izuku probably won't lose both his arms and his quirk. i fully expect it to be a happy ending in some way shape or form #this is a sixteen year old boy who sacrificed EVERYTHING. more than he ever had to give #and he had less than a year. It was very stressful. Ended up failing the marking period for English, but not by as much as I was failing before. Could still pull up the overall grade by the end of the semester.

#started writing a fic a few days ago. been a while since ive done that.#so far felix is very out of character but he's only gonna be the focus for the first chapter. plus i might go back and rewrite him.#maybe i should wait until the new chapter comes out tho so it's relevant to updated canon #anyway echos started brainrotting about chris in a /pos way so yeah a lot of my break has been rethinking old analysis #started to notice that he's a lot more fun if i get in the mindset that he's not poorly written he's just literally isaac's antagonist #also my siblings have been hyperfixating on DC so i watched a batman series. i think they're very disappointed in me for choosing batwheels.#snowy best vehicle #. what else #oh ive been doodling a nightmare design #been liking the idea of him and dream not being skeletons but dont wanna draw/write them as their canon human designs #because (if i'm correct) they get those designs at some point later in the story. and i don't want to confuse the timeline like that.#so ive been working on concept sketches for a less human design for them. ive also noticed that them being humans in canon actually #makes a lot of sense because the other guardians don't really have any connection between their species and it can be assumed that #whatever they are exists in the universes/multiverse they're from. so it makes sense for the twins to be humans because the utmv has humans.#. but i also like how they couldn't be given the human forms at first because of the lack of holes.#so the design im working on has gill/stripe-looking vents for the energy to come out of.#also gonna try to add little fire wisps into the design because i love their true forms so much #anyway i dont think there's been more that ive done. other than schoolwork. and watching qsmp.#oh i started working on an animatic. but i do that all the time. it'll be a bigger occasion if i finish one lol.#think im gonna still keep interaction on tumblr to a smaller scale because i wanna keep getting stuff done

hi!! see uh. i really wish i could tell you for certain it was happening, and it's not like i've decided NOT to write it, but at this point i don't know if either of us should be holding our breath for it? my attention has kinda shifted away from seventeen and i honestly haven't had any fic ideas for them in general for a while. like, if i came up with something, i'd still write it, but just based on the fact that "recent" in my profile is play it again, which was done like. YEARS ago idk if i'll ever actually get back around to it.
